    Predator: Badlands

On a remote planet, a young Predator, cast out by his own clan, finds an unexpected ally in Tia and embarks on a dangerous journey in search of the ultimate opponent.

    🟢🟢🟢🟢

    • Great chemistry between Elle Fanning and the Predator.
    • Strong overall performance by Elle Fanning in both roles.
    • You can really feel the director of Prey taking risks here, and for the most part, it pays off.
    • For the first time, we see the story through the Predator’s own perspective.
    • Visually captivating.
    • The world-building by Dan Trachtenberg is stunning, with intense action scenes and imposing landscapes.
    • I liked the sense of honor and the code the Predators seem to follow.
    • The creature design is very well done.

    🔴🔴🔴🔴

    • At times, it has a strong video game aesthetic.
    • Unfortunately, it is not as bloody as I would have liked.
    • In some moments, it falls into a safer style of storytelling, even though it clearly has the potential to take bigger risks.
    • It leans more toward digital effects rather than practical ones.

    Heated Rivalry

At the heart of Heated Rivalry, two ice hockey stars, Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov, are locked in what seems like an unstoppable battle for the top. However, away from the spotlight and the cold ice rink, their relationship evolves into something far more than a simple rivalry: an intense, secret, and deeply romantic connection that will test the limits of career, love, and self acceptance.

    🟢🟢🟢🟢

    • It touches on deeper themes such as masculinity, society’s expectations, and professional pressure.
    • I actually enjoyed the storyline of Scott Hunter and his partner more, especially the way it developed in episode 3, and I would have liked to see their love story explored further.
    • I liked that it felt more human and avoided turning the characters into caricatures. It also leaned into emotion.
    • The season length felt right considering the number of episodes.
    • Plenty of sex scenes 😅
    • From a directing standpoint, there are some really good moments, especially the long takes that amplify the tension of a scene.
    • Beautiful cinematography.
    • Hudson Williams brought a strong sense of emotional restraint and inner depth to Shane Hollander.

    🔴🔴🔴🔴

    • The final episode disappointed me. It felt completely lifeless, aside from one small reveal.
    • The ending was also very flat and did not create anticipation for another season.
    • Sorry, but I personally did not feel any chemistry between the two main characters.
    • I wanted more hardcore sex scenes. It felt too familiar and safe.
    • I’m not sure how much audiences will truly relate to these characters as they were presented.

    Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere

The making of Bruce Springsteen’s 1982 album Nebraska, a raw acoustic record that marked a pivotal moment in his life and is considered one of his most timeless works. Is it worth watching?

    🟢🟢🟢🟢

    • Jeremy Allen White delivers a solid performance, especially considering the material he was given to work with.
    • Jeremy Strong gives a powerful and grounded performance.
    • Scott Cooper uses beautiful black-and-white flashbacks to explore the father-son relationship.
    • The director shows us the troubled man behind the legend. The film has a more human and intimate tone because of that.
    • It successfully captures the melancholic feeling of the past.
    • Minimalistic and gloomy cinematography, but it serves the film’s purpose well.

    🔴🔴🔴🔴

    • It follows a very introverted approach, perhaps a bit too much at times.
    • There were several moments where I got bored. 😅
    • We barely get to see Bruce Springsteen performing on stage 🤷‍♂️. Clearly intentional from the director, but still…
    • The idealization of manager Jon Landau feels a bit forced.
    • It’s aimed more at Springsteen fans.
    • In several parts, the pacing loses momentum.
    • It lacks major narrative peaks or emotional climaxes 🤷‍♂️.

    Greenland 2

The surviving members of the Garrity family must leave the safety of their shelter in Greenland and embark on a dangerous journey to find a new home. Is it worth watching?

    🟢🟢🟢🟢

    • Some interesting post-apocalyptic visuals and shots.
    • I found the narrative choice at the end interesting (no spoilers).
    • The sequel tries to bring a more dramatic tone to the story.
    • It works more as a road movie.
    • Some of the visual effects are convincing.
    • The pacing is decent overall.

    🔴🔴🔴🔴

    • For a disaster movie, the scope does not feel that large. Most of the destruction is implied. Probably a budget issue as well.
    • The young son still needs a lot of improvement performance-wise.
    • The movie is not really what it promises to be.
    • Very basic direction.
    • Although it starts strong, I found Morena Baccarin’s presence mostly decorative after a certain point.
    • Script-wise, it does not avoid the clichés of the genre.
    • At its core, it feels like an unnecessary sequel.
    • Narratively lifeless, with several convenient plot shortcuts.

    Avatar: Fire and Ash

One year after settling with the Metkayina clan, Jake and Neytiri’s family is struggling with grief after Neteyam’s death. They come face to face with a new, aggressive clan, the Mangkwan, also known as the “Ash People,” led by Varang. The conflict on Pandora escalates, and the consequences are devastating. A third Avatar movie? Is it worth watching? For its visuals, absolutely.

    🟢🟢🟢🟢

    • Visually, it is once again WOW! Expected, you might say. I watched it in 3D on an IMAX screen, and it leaves you speechless. The CGI and world-building are incredible, almost touching perfection.
    • Cameron knows how to direct movies like this.
    • The battle scenes are very good and impressive. All of them.
    • The new addition, the villain Varang, is an excellent one. Threatening, with a sexy edge, I would say, and feline-like movement 😅.
    • Zoe Saldana stands out for me.
    • The core themes are present here too: respect for nature, family, and the cost of violence.
    • It is darker compared to the previous films.

    🔴🔴🔴🔴

    • Story-wise, it basically repeats itself, which is the biggest problem of the movie for me.
    • Personally, it didn’t tire me, but 3.5 hours? Why? 😅😅
    • Apparently, two more movies are still coming. I don’t know what new things they can show from here on.
    • It has minor pacing issues.
    • Spider and his performance are once again the weak link in this film.

    Five Nights at Freddy's 2

One year has passed since the nightmare at Freddy’s pizzeria. The stories surrounding everything that happened there have now become urban legends, inspiring the town’s first festival dedicated to those dark events. Is it worth watching? Not if you ask me!

    🟢🟢🟢🟢

    • Surprisingly, it is a tiny bit better than the first one, but only slightly 😅.
    • I think fans of the game will probably enjoy it 🤷‍♂️.
    • The Puppet, at least in theory, was an interesting character.
    • The animatronics look okay as practical creations.

    🔴🔴🔴🔴

    • Not scary at all.
    • The PG-13 rating hurts the overall result.
    • Matthew Lillard, McKenna Grace, and Skeet Ulrich feel unnecessary.
    • Most of the performances are below average, and the characters are one-dimensional.
    • Quite predictable and repetitive.
    • A laughable script.
    • The reason given as an explanation is a bit unclear.

    Caught Stealing

Hank Thompson was a high school baseball prodigy. Even though he can no longer play, everything else in his life is going well. When his punk-rock neighbor Russ asks him to look after his cat for a few days, Hank suddenly finds himself targeted by a mismatched group of dangerous gangsters. Everyone is after him. The problem is… he has no idea why. Is it worth watching?

    🟢🟢🟢🟢

    • Darren Aronofsky tries something different directorially, and to some extent he pulls it off.
    • Austin Butler and Zoë Kravitz are solid in their roles.
    • It’s entertaining.
    • Fast pace and editing.
    • It has a sarcastic tone that I liked.
    • Nice soundtrack.
    • It blends bursts of violence with humor that works most of the time.
    • The cat steals the show 😅

    🔴🔴🔴🔴

    • It felt more “TV-like” than cinematic, leaning toward a B-movie style.
    • It lacks sufficient character depth.
    • Matt Smith’s character comes off a bit like a caricature.
    • It includes some genre clichés. Inevitably? Maybe.
    • Some performances are just average.
    • There are moments where characters make dumb decisions, like that one with the 🔑 🤷‍♂️
    • At times, it feels uninspired.

    Kiss of the Spider Woman

Valentín and Molina share the same prison cell and develop an unexpected bond, as Molina recounts the plot of a musical starring his favorite diva. Jennifer Lopez and a musical… is it worth it?

    🟢🟢🟢🟢

    • Tonatiuh Elizarraraz stands out performance-wise, expressive, with an excellent voice and a well-shaped queer sensitivity that comes across on camera.
    • Diego Luna is good, though I’m not sure he was the best possible choice for the role.
    • Jennifer Lopez shines on stage and delivers a solid performance, even if (for me) it lacks the “wow” factor some attribute to her. She feels perfectly cast for the role and is quite good vocally.
    • As a production, it wins you over despite the low budget.
    • The musical acts have a strong theatrical feel (especially if you’re a fan of the genre).
    • Bright and vivid colors.
    • Quite good chemistry between the leads.

    🔴🔴🔴🔴

    • The film’s editing feels odd.
    • Overall, it lacks energy.
    • The transition between fantasy and reality is somewhat clumsy and breaks the immersion.
    • The songs are decent but not particularly memorable.
    • It could have been slightly shorter.
    • The musical acts, while visually appealing, fail to leave a lasting impression.
    • The cinematography, especially in the “realistic” prison scenes, doesn’t feel convincing.

    Fantastic Four: First Steps

Forced to balance their roles as heroes with the strength of their family bond, the Fantastic Four must defend Earth against an insatiable cosmic god named Galactus and his enigmatic herald, the Silver Surfer. But does Marvel’s latest creation truly deliver?

    🟢🟢🟢🟢

    • The overall production design and retro-futuristic aesthetic were visually stunning.
    • Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm was, in my opinion, the heart and soul of the team.
    • Pedro Pascal was also a solid choice as Mr. Fantastic.
    • Galactus, though I was initially skeptical, turned out to be quite menacing.
    • The depiction of the Silver Surfer was nicely done.
    • The first encounter between the Fantastic Four and Galactus in space looked fantastic.
    • It’s an enjoyable and easy watch.
    • The film focuses on the characters and the family dynamic at its core.
    • Great chemistry among the four.
    • Good pacing.
    • Excellent soundtrack.
    • Very solid visual effects (for the most part).

    🔴🔴🔴🔴

    • The CGI baby felt a bit off.
    • Joseph Quinn, though a talented actor, didn’t quite fit the role of Johnny.
    • The Thing was well-designed, but didn’t have much to do story-wise.
    • The script is rather simple, with a few plot holes — though they didn’t really bother me.
    • Some said it lacks action — true, but what bothered me more was that it doesn’t fully showcase the visual potential of their powers.
    • It’s missing that one “wow” scene that makes a superhero film stand out.

    Fight or Flight

A former secret agent is assigned to locate a high-profile international target aboard a plane — but ends up having to protect him when they’re both surrounded by people who want them dead. Surprisingly, it’s better than I expected… just don’t go in with high expectations.

    🟢🟢🟢🟢

    • Josh Hartnett’s performance was a pleasant surprise — he’s genuinely entertaining.
    • Well-choreographed fight scenes that keep you hooked.
    • Plenty of blood 🩸 — and I mean plenty.
    • Easy and enjoyable to watch.
    • It doesn’t take itself too seriously, which is part of its charm.
    • Humor is well-balanced throughout.
    • There’s one trippy, anarchic, over-the-top sequence that’s pure fun to watch.

    🔴🔴🔴🔴

    • The script is simple, predictable, even formulaic 🤷‍♂️.
    • Apart from Hartnett, the rest of the cast doesn’t really live up to expectations.
    • It constantly feels like a low-budget imitation of Bullet Train — but on a plane ✈️ and far less ambitious.
    • Lacks that cinematic polish — it gives off more of a TV-movie vibe (though it didn’t really bother me).

    The Phoenician Scheme

The film follows Za-Za Korda, a wealthy businessman (played by Benicio del Toro), who is hunted by governments, terrorists, and assassins. When everything around him collapses, Korda decides to name his estranged daughter—played by Mia Threapleton, a nun—as his sole heir. The young woman soon finds herself swept into a chaotic, globe-trotting chase. But is it worth watching?

    🟢🟢🟢🟢

    • The music and costumes are outstanding.
    • Benicio del Toro delivers a strong performance—unsurprisingly, he shines once again.
    • Fans of Wes Anderson’s style will likely enjoy it.
    • Works well if viewed as an anti-capitalist satire.
    • Features an all-star cast.
    • Visually and aesthetically, the film is impressive.

    🔴🔴🔴🔴

    • Fairly predictable plot that brings nothing new.
    • I found myself bored at several points 🫣—the story felt stagnant throughout.
    • An odd film that lacks broad appeal.
    • It leans into excess, more than it really needed to.
    • Beyond its visuals, it’s ultimately an average effort, unfortunately.

    Dangerous Animals

When Zephyr, a smart and free-spirited surfer, falls victim to a serial killer obsessed with sharks, she must find a way to escape his boat before he feeds her to them. It was marketed as a shark movie… but is it really? For me, no!!!

    🟢🟢🟢🟢

    • It maintains steady tension and suspense — I’ll give it that, and I think audiences will appreciate it.
    • Fans of the genre will have a good time; it’s an easy, watchable film.
    • The main performances are basic.
    • The cinematography adds a bit to the atmosphere.
    • Nice opening scene.
    • Short runtime (thankfully).

    🔴🔴🔴🔴

    • As I said in the intro, despite the marketing pushing it as a shark movie, at its core it isn’t.
    • Not scary at all.
    • The script is formulaic — runs on autopilot.
    • Repetitive in several parts.
    • Oh, that CGI…
    • No character development whatsoever.
