There is no distinction of sex among the disappeared. Men and women who seem to have been swallowed by the earth, thousands of people who have been left unaccounted for, leaving thousands of relatives submerged in tormenting pain. A pain that they will never overcome, not even if they are lucky and manage to find the remains of their daughters, brothers, fathers.
One thing is very evident, the number of missing and murdered women in Mexico is chilling. Faced with the obvious inefficiency, complicity and corruption of state agencies, the victims' relatives have been searching for years, risking their own lives in practically forbidden areas, where they cannot ask many questions, for the danger of becoming another disappeared, another figure, another statistic.
It is not the first time that cinema addresses this issue, other productions, films and television series, have already dealt with it, either as a main theme within the story or as a subplot. Cinema becomes a tool to call the public's attention, to make them see what is happening, how the cancer of corruption and violence have wreaked havoc in thousands of families. This does not mean that the film loses importance, on the contrary, there is a need for more films that do not show the faces of violence and its consequences.
At this moment, as you read, I assure you that a woman or a man in Mexico is being kidnapped and will join the endless list of the disappeared. It is happening today, before the indifferent complicity of those who in public office swore to protect their fellow citizens.
A few months ago, on a channel of a couple of yotubers who travel the world, I saw that they were in Mexico and while walking through the streets of the city, they came across a protest of women demanding an end to the murders and disappearances of girls. The police with violence and tear gas bombs stopped the demonstration, some of the women took refuge in a store, there also entered the couple of yotubers and the protesters told him that they were at risk of being captured by the police, tortured and even killed by the same security guards.
None of this is normal, but society has become accustomed to it being part of its reality. Solutions? At the moment there seems to be none. I am also from a Latin American country, and we are condemned to always repeat the same mistakes, I also live in a failed state, where fear, violence and death are part of our daily life.
La cifra es alarmante, si buscamos en Google la información sobre el número de desaparecidos en México. Creo que es el país que aún puede llamarse democrático, que tiene un número de desaparecidos que hiela la sangre.
No hay distinción de sexo entre los desaparecidos. Hombres y mujeres que parecen habérselos tragado la tierra, miles de personas que han quedado en paradero desconocido, dejando a miles de familiares sumidos en un dolor atormentador. Un dolor que nunca superarán, ni siquiera si tienen suerte y logran encontrar los restos de sus hijas, hermanos, padres.
Algo es muy evidente, el número de mujeres desaparecidas y asesinadas en México es escalofriante. Ante la evidente ineficacia, complicidad y corrupción de las dependencias estatales, los familiares de las víctimas llevan años buscando, arriesgando su propia vida en zonas prácticamente prohibidas, donde no se pueden hacer muchas preguntas, por el peligro de convertirse en otro desaparecido, otra cifra, otra estadística.
No es la primera vez que el cine aborda este tema, otras producciones, películas y series de televisión, ya lo han tratado, ya sea como tema principal dentro de la historia o como subtrama. El cine se convierte en una herramienta para llamar la atención del público, para que vea lo que está pasando, cómo el cáncer de la corrupción y la violencia han causado estragos en miles de familias. No por eso el film pierde importancia, todo lo contrario, se necesitan mas películas que no s muestran las caras de la violencia y sus consecuencias.
En este momento, mientras usted lee, le aseguro que una mujer o un hombre en México está siendo secuestrado y pasará a engrosar la interminable lista de desaparecidos. Está ocurriendo hoy, ante la complicidad indiferente de quienes en cargos públicos juraron proteger a sus conciudadanos.
Hace unos meses, en un canal de un par de yotubers que viajan por el mundo, vi que estaban en México y al pasear por las calles de la ciudad, se toparon con una protesta de mujeres que exigían el fin de los asesinatos y desapariciones de chicas. La policía con violencia y bombas lacrimógenas detuvo la manifestación, algunas de las mujeres se refugiaron en una tienda, ahí también entró la pareja de yotubers y las manifestantes le dijeron que corrían el riesgo de ser capturadas por la policía, torturadas e incluso asesinadas por los mismos guardias de seguridad.
Nada de esto es normal, pero la sociedad se ha acostumbrado a que forme parte de su realidad. ¿Solución? Por el momento no parece haber ninguna. Yo también soy de un país latinoamericano, y estamos condenados a repetir siempre los mismos errores, yo también vivo en un estado fallido, donde el miedo, la violencia y la muerte forman parte de nuestro día a día.

The character will find some of the answers, but first he must enter hell itself.
Hope is the last thing to be lost, the hope of finding their relatives, either alive or at least the remains, so they can bury them, is what keeps them alive, with energy. Every day is a struggle that can last for years. A mother will do anything to find her missing daughter, because hope influences the mind, the refusal to accept a sad reality, can keep a person convinced that she will find what was stolen. No matter what anyone tells him, every clue is important and he will never stop looking.
Noise achieves its goal, using the necessary crudeness. It is a current problem that deserves to be shown in a way that impacts the viewer. With a style that can be almost documentary, we will know and live an overwhelming experience that will leave us with a broken heart.
Ruido. !Fuerte! para ser escuchado. Es una película que merece ser vista. Ruido que rompa la burbuja de cristal de muchos espectadores, que por comodidad o indiferencia, no se atreven a mirar lo que otros sufren. ¡Ruido ensordecedor! para apaciguar el miedo y empatizar con el sufrimiento ajeno. Ruido permanente, para no olvidar que hoy podríamos ser nosotros las víctimas.
Esta película mexicana provoca más horror que ninguna otra del género. Porque la cineasta Natalia Beristain quiere que nos llenemos de suciedad, del olor putrefacto de los cadáveres abandonados, de la impotencia ante la actitud de quienes deberían proteger nuestras vidas, del dolor y el horror de la violencia descontrolada que roba vidas y sueños.
No sólo los desaparecidos son víctimas, toda la familia lo es. Madres cuyas vidas cambian por completo, donde la amargura, la depresión y el dolor se apoderan de ellas, alterando su realidad para siempre. Esto es lo que le ocurre a Julia, la protagonista de la película, interpretada con gran fuerza por la actriz Julieta Egurrola. ¿Cómo sonreír en medio de una tragedia, cómo sentir momentos de alegría mientras tienes el corazón roto, cómo seguir adelante con tu vida cuando te han arrebatado un pedazo de tu ser? El personaje encontrará algunas de las respuestas, aunque antes deberá adentrarse en el mismísimo infierno.
La esperanza es lo último que se pierde, la esperanza de encontrar a sus familiares, ya sea con vida o al menos los restos, para poder enterrarlos, es lo que les mantiene vivos, con energía. Cada día es una lucha que puede durar años. Una madre hará lo que sea para encontrar a su hija desaparecida, porque la esperanza influye en la mente, la negativa a aceptar una triste realidad, puede mantener a una persona convencida de que encontrará lo que le robaron. No importa lo que le digan, cada pista es importante y nunca dejará de buscar.
Ruido consigue su objetivo, utilizando la crudeza necesaria. Es un problema actual que merece ser mostrado de una forma que impacte al espectador. Con un estilo que puede ser casi documental, conoceremos y viviremos una experiencia sobrecogedora que nos dejará con el corazón roto.

With the help of a journalist named Abril Escobedo, she will begin a journey that will take her straight to the darkest side of a society, while learning to live with the loss, facing her worst fears: Where to look? Ruido es una película valiente, necesaria para quienes desconocen esta triste realidad. Es momento de decir ¡Basta! ¡Ni una más! Aunque el film es un trago amargo, porque la realidad es peor que la mostrada en la película. Sin ser una perfecta, cumple su objetivo de despertarnos por medio del grito silencioso de una madre que refleja el dolor de miles que están pasando por esta situación en la vida real. Que el ruido sea grande y fuerte, para que algún día el horror llegue a su fin.
