A challenge for those who like and appreciate the Seventh Art or, just want some cinematic recommendation. Let's do this!
What this is about? It's a movie challenge (Music A to Z Challenge) created by @serialfiller that obeys the alphabetical order where each participant has to remember two movies with the letter of the day (today the letter is O) of any country.
Don't forget about this: A brief comment on the chosen movies is also necessary.
Here are my choices:
Ocean's Eleven (2001)
Directed by Steven Soderbergh (which is a good director), this movie has a spectacular cast that is led by George Clooney and Brad Pitt. It also features the presence of Julia Roberts, Bernie Mac and Matt Damon in a plot involving a sophisticated plan to steal (simultaneously) a large sum of money from three famous Las Vegas casinos.
Besides being an intelligent script and full of great dialogues and good performances, what I like most about this movie is the visual aesthetics of the scenes that involve the thefts. The plans are well thought out, executed with a very interesting criminalistic refinement and this ends up becoming the movie's quality stamp.
Okja (2017)
The cinema has already created several movies that fight capitalism in the most diverse ways, but in this production directed by Bong Joon Ho, despite the subject being the same (in essence of the theme, which is quite good and very important to be discussed), the way of talking about it is loaded with many particularities, making the movie something unique within this niche.
A young girl's emotional struggle against the voracious and harmful system of capitalism of a multinational industry is portrayed in a very simple way, but at the same time it is very strong because of the message that fills the screen. The special effects are very good, the soundtrack is beautiful, and the script is very sensitive to the needs of the theme.
See ya in the next round, folks!
