Aquí encontramos una de las mayores estafas que ha ocurrido en el ecosistema crypto, ver como una persona logro hacer una enorme fortuna a través de engaños, siendo fundador de un intercambio que en su momento fue de los mas reconocidos por toda Canadá, gracias a el gran impulso que tuvo el bitcoin en su momento de subida, pero luego cuando vino un retroceso bajista, fue cuando todo comenzó a empeorar y el fundador de la noche a la mañana desapareció.

Este intercambio comenzó en el auge del bitcoin, comenzaron comprando pequeñas cantidades de los usuarios, luego a medida que el BTC comenzaba a elevar mas su precio, mas famoso se volvieron y comenzaron a comprar en masivas cantidades, tomando enormes beneficios gracias a estas grandes subidas que tuvo el bitcoin en sus comienzos donde muchos se hicieron ricos.

Vemos a uno de los afectados hablar en el documental, comentando que el ingreso 400$ mil dólares, vendió su apartamento para obtener la ganancia que le daba el deposito, quería buscar un dinero fácil, pero termino siendo estafado porque nunca pudo retirar sus fondos y esto sucedió con miles de personas.

Vamos a ver en el documental como este fundador fue un experto en estafas desde su niñez, teniendo un aspecto físico que no da para pensar sobre eso, lucia como un gran hombre que sabe mucho sobre internet, inteligente y tranquilo que no es capaz de hacer malos actos. Pero se encuentra como fue participe de algunas plataformas donde robaban dinero de personas, teniendo esquemas ponzi donde los usuarios ingresan dinero para recibir ciertas ganancias, comienzan muy bien otorgando el beneficio, luego cierran las operaciones y se van con todo el dinero sin dejar rastro alguno. Tienen que observar como a muchos usuarios en su intercambio Quadriga, los llegaron a engañar en muchísimas transacciones, haciéndole parecer algo que no era y luego ellos moviendo todo esos fondos a otros intercambios para lavar el dinero.

Ver esto me da pensar sobre las regulaciones de las criptomonedas como algo positivo, aunque su creación fue para crear libertad en las personas, lamentablemente las mismas personas usan esas libertades para hacer el mal; y lo triste es que luego otras terminan siendo perjudicadas de manera injusta. Viendo el documental nos damos cuentas que es el mismo patrón de estafas que se ven en muchas plataformas, comienzan a operar bien ganando la confianza de los usuarios, luego cuando su volumen de liquidez comienza a tener márgenes negativos, cierran todo y preparan su plan de huida. Como es posible que un intercambio que maneja enormes fondos de dinero, solo una persona tenga las claves de todos los usuarios, eso no tiene sentido y me pone a pensar mucho sobre si en verdad el fundador esta muerto.

Personalmente creo que esta persona todavía se encuentra con vida, hay grandes investigadores que están llevando este caso, quienes muestran mucha información que nos lleva a pensar que este fundador no ha muerto, porque las condiciones como falleció no parecen ser nada creíbles, también esta la gran casualidad que sucedió cuando nadie podía retirar dinero y para mencionar un pequeño spoiler del documental, este hombre firmo los documentos de su testamento 2 semanas antes de su muerte, dejando todo su patrimonio a la esposa, quien a parte fue la última persona que lo vio con vida, ya que estaba junto a el en un viaje, visitando un país muy lejano donde a según iba a crear un establecimiento para personas con necesidades, pero todo resulta ser muy extraño y es difícil de creer que este hombre no este vivo.

Alegan en el documental que la esposa pudo ser participe de su muerte, siendo ella quien lo mato para quedarse con todo, pero eso tendrían ustedes que detallarlo, pues también se comienza a sospechar mucho sobre ella, aunque hasta el momento no se ha podido corroborar nada.

El documental para mi es super interesante de principio a fin, vemos a varias personas afectadas dando su experiencia de como fueron estafados, llevando una gran narrativa de como sucedieron todas las cosas, manteniendo un gran orden de la historia y que perfectamente nos deja totalmente centrados en todo este enorme incidente que sucedió hace pocos años atrás. Si te gusta el mundo de las criptomonedas te vas a entreneter, sera una gran sorpresa como Gerald Cotten utiliza su ingenio para sacar provecho de mala forma, donde nos hace comprender que debemos tener mucho cuidado en este mundo crypto, pues Quadriga fue un intercambio que empezó en el año 2013, pareció llevar todo muy bien durante algunos años, después decidió cerrar llevándose el dinero de miles de personas, lo que nos hace pensar sobre la confiabilidad que tenemos sobre algunos exchanger que utilizamos, así que te la recomiendo porque me parece que se puede sacar mucho valor de esta historia que tristemente resulta ser, una de las mayores estafas que se han hecho en criptomonedas.
