Greetings cinephile friends! A few days ago I had the opportunity to watch a movie I came across Netflix starring Russell Crowe and Caren Pistorius, today I want to share with you the review: Unhinged.

This film is from the year 2020, directed by Derrick Borte and written by Carl Ellsworth. We are facing a thriller with a lot of violence, which makes us think twice before claiming someone on the street.

Plot
Rechel is a woman with many problems: economic, work, she is getting divorced and her mother is ill in a sanatorium. That morning she leaves with her son Kyle, in her car on her way to school, they have been late all week and Kyle is pressuring his mother to arrive as soon as possible and they get stuck in a traffic jam. Together they devise an alternate route and by a twist of fate, they cross paths with Tom Cooper, who is stuck in the middle of the street and the light is green. Rachel passes by and honks at him in complaint, which unleashes the wrath of the unhinged Tom, who begins to chase the mother and her son all over the freeway.
Trama

What I liked about the movie
One of my favorite parts of this movie, was the moment when Rachel is desperate for Tom's pursuit and asks her son to put into practice a strategy that Kely devised with a friend to pass a level of his favorite video game. The boy explains the plan adapting the fantasy of the game to the highway and the streets of the neighborhoods end up being traps where the enemy will get lost.
I think it is a very nice gesture of this mother to trust her son to solve the problem in which they find themselves.
Lo que me gustó de la película
Una de mis partes favoritas de esta película, fue el momento en el Rachel está desesperada por la persecución de Tom y le pide a su hijo que pongan en práctica una estrategia que Kely ideó con un amigo para pasar un nivel de su videojuego favorito. El niño le explica el plan adaptando la fantasía del juego a la autopista y las calles de los barrios terminan siendo trampas dónde el enemigo se perderá.
Me parece que es un gesto muy lindo de esta madre en confiar en su hijo para resolver el problema en el que se encuentran.
It didn't meet my expectations
I really expected a lot more from this film. I usually read reviews of a film after watching it and many of the sites I usually reference agree that the film had everything to be perfect and only got 5/10 ( 5.3/10 Filmaffinity) as out of the 90 minutes of the movie most of the time it is a car chase.

Realmente esperaba mucho más de este filme. Normalmente leo las críticas de una película después de verla y muchos de los sitios que acostumbro a tomar de referencia coinciden en que la película lo tenía todo para ser perfecta y solamente consiguió 5/10 ( 5.3/10 Filmaffinity) ya que de los 90 minutos de película la mayoría del tiempo es una persecución en los automóviles.
What I didn't like about the movie
Personally it stresses me out to see a movie where the villain implants terror wherever he goes and is invisible to the authorities. In this movie Tom, besides having a super strength "indestructible" type hurts several characters, commits many infractions and violent acts in public places and we do not see any authority around the place.
Another thing that seemed inconsistent to me, was that the motive of the first violent act and murder that Tom commits at the beginning was never revealed. That is, we do not know if that was the reason for his anger and if that is what makes him behave like a madman. It seems to me that this is a key point that is left up in the air.
Lo que no me gustó de la película
En lo personal me estresa ver una película que el villano implanta el terror donde va y es invisible a las autoridades. En esta película Tom, a parte de tener una super fortaleza tipo "indestructible" hiere a varios personajes, comete muchas infracciones y actos violentos en lugares públicos y no vemos a ninguna autoridad por el lugar.
Otra cosa que me pareció incoherente, fue que nunca se reveló el motivo del primer acto violento y asesinato que comete Tom al inicio. Es decir, no sabemos si ese era el motivo de su ira y si es lo que lo hace comprortar como un desquisiado. Me parece que es un punto clave que queda en el aire.
One thing that has always amazed me about actors, is the ability to adapt to each role. I don't know if Russell Crowe had to gain weight uncontrollably for this role or if he was already like this when he was cast, but he looks like another man to me: giant and fat which makes me wonder where did the handsome gladiator go?
Una cosa que siempre me ha sorprendido de los actores, es la capacidad de adaptación que deben tener para cada papel. No sé si Russell Crowe tuvo que aumentar de peso descontroladamente para este papel o si ya estaba así cuando lo seleccionaron, pero me parece que es otro hombre: gigante y gordo que me hace preguntar ¿Dónde quedó el guapo gladiador?
It is a film that can be seen in company and with a good snack. I'm sure we'll think very carefully before honking our horns at someone in the street after watching this film. I hope you like my review and I'll see you next time.
Es una película que puede verse en compañía y con una buena merienda. Estoy segura que lo pensaremos muy bien antes de tocar la bocina a alguien que esté atravesado en la calle después de ver este filme. Espero que les guste mi reseña y nos vemos en una próxima oportunidad.
