    Paddington is one of the sweetest movies I've seen in a long time, even though off the bat it might seem like another typical adaptation of a mascot or iconic character in popular culture to modern cinema, which starts out feeling like a pretty simple premise. and formulaic ends up serving as the vessel for a fun and family-friendly story (in the best sense of the word) that strives to deliver genuine quality.*

    With a directing style that could remind us of authors of the stature of Wes Anderson, in Paddington Paul King immerses us in his stylized and timeless vision of London, a place through which, like the charismatic bear who stars in this adventure, we we will constantly feel attracted to his personality, although it is also understandable to feel overwhelmed about it.

    Paddington is part of a quite intelligent family of bears that lives in a hidden region of the jungles of Peru, after a brief encounter with a British explorer who taught them to communicate like humans, they were fascinated with the idea of ​​visiting this great and hectic city, a wish that would not be fulfilled by the young Paddington until many years later when an earthquake made him have to look for a new home.

    This depressing premise serves as a pretext to perfectly expose the optimistic philosophy of the film, using as firm bases the infinite optimism of this bear who, by chance, ends up finding a "perfect" family willing to take care of him temporarily.

    Apart from his very positive nature and his beautiful visual presentation, Paddington's virtue lies in his impeccable rhythm and the ability to synthesize quality humor that we can appreciate regardless of our age, he has a great cast, special effects executed with sobriety and ambition only when necessary and a rather pleasant general atmosphere.

    While Paddington didn't need to polish each of its elements that much in order to work, we appreciate the effort of each of the filmmakers and actors involved, who delivered a modern classic that hides so much potential behind a simple facade.

    Paddington es una de las películas más dulces que he visto en mucho tiempo, si bien de buenas a primeras podría aparentar ser otra típica adaptación de una mascota o personaje icónico en la cultura popular al cine moderno, lo que empieza sintiéndose como una premisa bastante simple y formulaíca termina sirviendo como recipiente para una historia divertida y apta para toda la familia (En el mejor sentido de la palabra) que se esfuerza por entregar calidad genuina.

    Con un estilo de dirección que podría recordarnos a autores de la talla de Wes Anderson, en Paddington Paul King nos sumerge dentro de su visión estilizada y atemporal de London, una lugar por el que al igual que el carismático oso que protagoniza está aventura, nos sentiremos constantemente atraídos por su personalidad, aunque también sea entendible que llegue a abrumar.

    Paddington forma parte de una familia de osos bastante inteligente que habita en una región oculta de las selvas de Perú, luego de un breve encuentro con un explorador británico que les enseñó a comunicarse como humanos quedaron fascinados con la idea de visitar esta gran y agitada ciudad, un deseo que no se vería cumplido por el joven Paddington sino hasta muchos años después cuando un terremoto le hizo tener que buscar un nuevo hogar.

    Esta premisa tan deprimente sirve como pretexto para exponer a la perfección la filosofía optimista del filme, usando como bases firmes el infinito optimismo de este oso quien, por azares del destino termina consiguiendo a una familia "perfecta" dispuesto a cuidarlo temporalmente.

    Aparte de su naturaleza tan positiva y su bella presentación visual, la virtud de Paddington se encuentra en su ritmo impecable y la capacidad para sintetizar humor de calidad que podremos apreciar independientemente de nuestra edad, tiene un cast estupendo, efectos especiales ejecutados con sobriedad y ambición solo cuando resulta necesario y una atmósfera general bastante agradable.

    Aunque Paddington no tenía la necesidad de pulir tanto cada uno de sus elementos, agradecemos el esfuerzo por parte de cada uno de los cineastas y actores implicados, quienes nos entregaron un clásico moderno que esconde muchísimo potencial detrás de una simple fachada.
