Poolman follows Darren Barrenman, a man who lives in Los Angeles and who work as the pool cleaner at the Tahitin Tiki apartment complex, this is his daily routine. In addition Barrenman also has other activity, he is a person that like to visit the L.A. City Hall and promote his ideas to make his hometown a better place to live but he is not taken seriously and is taken out of the place. He passed his days with his friends Diane and Jack, talking about many things, also expend time with his girlfriend Susan, which one that want to define their relationship but apparently Darren is just clueless about this. One day while he was cleaning the pool a mysterious woman named June appears in his pool with confidential information and asks Darren to be an undercover detective, he was confused about everything but at the end thought that this was his opportunity to save Los Angeles from a conspiracy. This is Darren’s opportunity to save Los Angeles from a conspiracy. To get to the bottom of the matter, he surrounds himself with his girlfriend Susan and his friends Diane and Jack. His investigation reveals hidden information about his beloved city and through that journey he start knowing and discovering more about himself.

Chris Pine: From Spaceship Captain to Directorial Debutante

Making his directorial debut Chris Pine brings his new production Poolman. In it he served as director, producer, co-writter and lead actor. The idea of creating this movie came when one day Pine and director Patty Jenkins were having a conversation, in addition Jenkins take a participation in this movie as producer.

Chris Pine is an American actor, who started his career in some episodes of TV series such as ER, The Guardian and CSI: Miami. After that he made the big jump to the big screen with movies like The Princess Diaries 2, Just My Luck, Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit. One of his recognized movies is Unstoppable, in which he shares the main roles with Denzel Washington but his global recognition came in 2009 when he took the role of James T. Kirk in the Start Trek reboot and as Steve Trevor in the DC Extended Universe films Wonder Woman and Wonder Woman 1984.

His decision to venture into directing took many by surprise. Pine embarked on his journey as a director, culminating in the creation of Poolman. Collaborating with many actors in this movie, creating a wonderful synergy and great environment where everyone felt happy to be part of this project and the new path of Chris Pine.

She offered him the opportunity to uncover an entire network of corruption and greed. Since that moment Darren embarks in a mission to find the truths about his city and himself all in the companion of his beloved friend.

This story of Darren Barrenman at the beginning is so simple but everything change, giving to the audience a really weird story, with a lot of comedy, mystery and deepest thoughts about himself.

Poolman premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) and sparked debate and discussion among viewers, with opinions ranging from admiration to disappointment. The movie has received hard critics, despite the great cast that form this film and the production on it, the story has been explain as weird and without sense, also the critics has mention that Poolman has nothing positive to say, but theirs always a different point of view and in that case many others has mention that the Chris Pine’s world is different, funny and a place where they will like to live. About the directorial debut of Chris Pine critics and audience hasn’t been amazed but expect to see what the new director will be bringing in the future. Unfortunately the movie didn’t received a good reception from critics but the director needs to wait for the reception that the movie will have when it premiered in theaters. Poolman is a movie of humor and mystery that will show the world of Chris Pine.

The story about a man that has no aspiration in life just work as a pool cleaner, hang out with his friends every day and suddenly all his life change and turned himself into a detective that is behind the truth of a big conspiracy in his hometown Los Angeles. This is the premise that Chris Pine in his debut as director is bringing to the audience and critics. By now this story hasn’t been well received by critics and with the audience that already has the opportunity to see the movie in the Toronto Film Festival has give mix feelings to it, there’s one that heat it and others that just feel good about the weird world that Pine has create and give to the viewers. The truth is this has been an amazing experience to the new director and for the people that decided to support him in his new adventure and despite the critics or comments just on May 10th when the movie premiered on theaters and if you decided to watch it, you and only you will have to opportunity to judge Chris Pine work.
