   **The first season of this fantastic scientific series seemed to me one of the most interesting and captivating series so far. The story is set in a bleak future, where two androids, Mama (Amanda Collin) and Tata (Abubakar Salim), land on a virgin planet and use their few resources to raise six human embryos. We are told that the Earth was destroyed by a devastating war between atheists and followers of a new religion. We quickly understand that Father and Mother are on the side of atheists, and that believers have also launched an Ark in an attempt to save the human race by colonizing new planets. The six embryos are born and the atypical family sees their life on the arid planet, always engaging in various agricultural activities, but it doesn't take long and the story takes care to face deadly obstacles.** **I believe the series directed by Luke Scott and Ridley Scott is a super good one - so, from my point of view, it's worth the precious time to watch it. It's an excellent series that should not be missed in this life. Interestingly, the fantastic science fiction series HBO Max, Raised by Wolves continues with a second season. Obviously, the action will continue the story of the first, in which humans are fighting a battle against the androids, on a new planet. Yep, the story gets so much more captivating.** **Honestly during season two, from my point of view the movie seems to be completely inspired by biblical stories (Mom and Dad = Adam and Eve) Ok, I won't give spoilers but in the second season it will already appear in the script until a giant snake that will appear around a more special tree - biblical references are already being made, yep a lot of elements taken from the scriptures of Christianity. Well, during the series we will discover many aspects related to the story of Romulus and Remus, evident from the title - raised by wolves - or the Mithraic religion - a religion that was practiced during the Roman Empire. Yep, the series presents in a rather captivating way the artificial intelligence, but also the traps of religion. Who we are!!? Where we are!!? Where are we going in the future !!?** **Ok, honestly i really love the show and i can say with all my heart that it conquered me from the first episode. I confidently recommend to all people who love science fiction stories a lot - it's a much more special series than other series like this. I recommend it with confidence - you will not be disappointed.**

   Looking for some entertainment a few days ago, I wanted to see something different this time, so I set out to look for new series or movie releases for the month of February in the platforms I currently have contracted. In HBO max I found several interesting releases, although not necessarily new for its year of release, some were new for the platform, as in the case of Cry Macho, a Clint Eastwood movie that I reviewed a few days ago.

   After seeing some ratings from critics, I learned that Ridley Scott only directed the first two episodes of the first season, the rest of the 8 episodes were left in the hands of several directors, including Luke Scott son of Ridley and after watching the entire first season I can say that "son of a cat, mouse hunting" because you can perceive that touch of the Scott throughout the series, highlighting details such as the "white blood of the androids" as we can see in Alien.

   Upon arriving to the new world immediately the Androids start working, Mother connects 6 embryos to her abdomen, through a kind of hose that sustains them with life and nutrients, this scene seems to give rise to the name of the series, it is like watching a she-wolf feeding her cubs in her 6 mothers, a fierce android capable of doing anything to fulfill its mission, even kill, just like these powerful animals of nature.

   My opinion

   It's been a long time since I've watched Sci Fi series as I recently did with Boba Fet and Raised By Wolves, this genre is not easy to appreciate if it does not have good special effects or a background plot as broad as that of Star War, which sponsors every new production of the franchise, that's why this new series knew it had to bet on good effects, especially when it was about the colonization of new worlds by the almost extinct human race.

   Hace tiempo que no me dedicaba a ver series del género Sci Fi como recién lo hice con Boba Fet y Raised By Wolves, este género no es fácil de apreciar si no cuenta con buenos efectos especiales o una trama de fondo tan amplia como la de Star War, que apadrina a toda nueva producción de la franquicia, es por eso que esta nueva serie sabia que debía apostar a los buenos efectos, mas aun cuando se trataba de la colonización de nuevos mundos por la casi extinta raza humana.

   The first episodes caught me with the plot, that combination of war conflicts with religious discrepancies, plus technology, seemed to me immediately a controversial powder keg for orthodox and fanatics, besides giving a leading role to artificial intelligence as the savior of the world and responsible for its extinction, an ambiguity that blows your mind if you pay attention.

   Los primeros episodios me atraparon con la trama, esa combinación de conflictos bélicos con discrepancias religiosas, más la tecnología, me parecieron de inmediato son un polvorín controversial para ortodoxos y fanáticos, además de dar un rol protagónico a la inteligencia artificial como salvadora del mundo y responsable de su extinción, una ambigüedad que te vuela la cabeza si prestas atención.

   

   Amanda Collin the protagonist of Mother who is also known as Lamia, for me until now was an unknown actress, but I think she played an extraordinary role, embodying an android that had to emulate human emotions to be able to raise children, was extraordinary.    The series has many airs of other productions of the past, as I progressed in the chapters I seemed to be watching Prometheus, and guess who is the director? Otro gran cambio es la trama, ahora los que dominan son los Ateos gobernados por una poderosa inteligencia artificial, que tendrá que enfrentarse a una minoría de creyentes subyugados que al parecer serán un problema.

   ¿Qué no me gusto de la serie hasta ahora? La cantidad de misterios y detalles sin resolver que se acumulan cada vez mas y no pareciera cerrar ciclo, esta cargada de tanta trama que no se sabe si alcanzara una nueva temporada, que de paso se anuncio que solo contara con 8 episodios, dos menos que la anterior, y con los tres episodio con los que contamos hasta ahora, de la impresión que puede que tengamos desenlaces que dejen mucho que desear, y que solo seria posible salvar con una tercera temporada, pero esto es especular, aun quedan 5 episodios por ver, tengo mucha expectativa de poder presenciar una nueva obra maestra y un nuevo hito del cine, o una nueva decepción del Sci Fi.

   E allora giusto per buttarla più sul profano vi basti sapere che oltre all'accoppiata micidiale HBO-Ridley Scott c'è un altro motivo, più strettamente seriale, per dare una chance a questa meraviglia.

   L'approdo della serie ci permette di ritrovare un nostro beniamino, uno a cui volere bene a prescindere, che sotterrata l'ascia vichinga e tagliato il codone ritorna per salpare su un altro pianeta.

   Travis Fimmel, l'indimenticato Ragnar Lothbrok, ci delizia con la sua presenza e ci offre il solito turbinio di occhi spiritati, sorrisetti a mezza bocca, sguardi allucinati e un vigore amorfo ma presentissimo.

   A fine stagione, in maniera sorprendente rispetto alle attese iniziali, sarà proprio il suo personaggio a lasciare i maggiori dubbi, vittima di un percorso lungo e faticoso e del quale, per larghi tratti, avremmo fatto a meno. Sembra abbastanza certo che nella seconda stagione quello che abbiamo visto nella prima emergerà in maniera dirompente, incastrandosi molto più facilmente nella storyline principale.

   Al contrario di quanto ci sarebbe atteso, infatti, non è su Travis Fimmel che si poggiano le basi narrative della serie ma su 2 androidi: Father e, soprattutto, Mother.

   I 2 "inumani" sono stati catapultati su un pianeta apparentemente deserto con lo scopo di fungere da allevatori di alcuni bambini che, nell'idea primordiale, dovranno essere la speranza e la resurrezione di un genere umano oramai allo stremo e sulla via dell'estinzione.

   Se l'ambiguità di Marcus (Travis Fimmel) ci aiuta a capire le credenze, la fede, la superstizione, la struttura gerarchica di quel che resta della razza umana, è con Mother (un'eccezionale Amanda Collin) che Scott offre il meglio di sè, elevando all'ennesima potenza la poetica che da decenni prova a ribaltare sul pubblico.

   L'androide è lo strumento perfetto per definire il concetto di "umanità", di empatia, coraggio, maternità, scopo, senso della vita stessa.

   Un ribaltamento caro a Scott sin dai tempi di Blade Runner.

   Può, un insieme di codici binari, di cavi, di liquidi refrigeranti e di circuiti, riuscire ad interpretare la vita meglio di un essere umano?

   Spogliato di invidie, gelosie, testardaggini, avidità, questo nuovo essere potrebbe essere la risposta ai milenni di distruzione e autodistruzione inflitta dall'uomo a se stesso e al pianeta che lo ospitava?

   Mother e Father rappresentano al tempo stesso Adamo ed Eva nel giardino dell'Eden (ed il richiamo che vediamo nella puntata finale è palese) ma anche Giuseppe e Maria, ovvero 2 uomini (androidi) chiamati a mettere al mondo, allevare, accudire chi sarà destinato ad essere la salvezza e la rinascita di una nuova specie di essere umani, guidati da androidi programmati ad insegnare loro valori e principi oramai estinti.

   Capite bene che sono concetti difficili, ancestrali ed universali ma che godono di un'accattivante cornice, rurale e bucolica ma anche desolante e asettica.

   Gli effetti digitali ed il lavoro fatto soprattutto su Mother sono di livello altissimo ed in certe inquadrature sembra di essere di fronte ad un film di Terence Malick.

   La fotografia è infatti stupenda e spesso la suspence raggiunge vette inesplorate.

   E' però il non detto, il non raccontato, il non visto a tenere banco e a tenerci saldamente in bilico fra l'allucinazione e la realtà.

   In questo spazio si muove magistralmente Raised By Wolves, scherzando con il fuoco ma dimostrando di saperlo addomesticare con sapienza e visione d'insieme.

   Visivamente e narrativamente sono poche le serie capaci di tenere testa, capaci di dimostrare quel tipo di ricercatezza e raffinatezza. Esteticamente estatici sono gli episodi che aprono e chiudono la prima stagione.

   Una purezza che commuove e una capacità di spingersi oltre che rende orgogliosi di appartenere ad un genere umano che possa vantare Ridley Scott e chiunque ci sia dietro HBO.

   La seconda stagione è stata già annunciata e potrebbe diventare uno degli eventi del prossimo biennio.

   Dopo la falsa partenza arriva la grande riscossa di HBOMax, e che rivincita!

   HBO has produced another excellent series! For the past several weeks, I have been waiting for 3 HBO series to be entirely released so I can binge-watch them. Raised by Wolves was one of them and since it belongs to the service called HBO Max 2 new episodes were added each week instead of the typical 1 episode per week for HBO shows. The other 2 HBO series I will be watching soon are Lovecraft Country and The Third Day.

   Raised by Wolves is a scifi series, the story begins with 2 androids that look exactly like humans and are very smart. They arrived in what appears to be a deserted planet and their mission is to bring to life several human embryos and raise them so the human race can continue to exist.

   It is obvious from the beginning that something horrible happened on our planet Earth, and if you pay attention to the series' introduction, you will be able to figure out what happened. These 2 androids, one who looks like a man and the other looks like a female are programmed to work together and collaborate with the creation of this new human colony.

   Life on this planet is hard, so surviving won't be easy and this planet has its own mysteries that cannot be understood by a human mind, not even the androids are able to figure out some of the strange events that take place in here.

   Soon enough, we will realize there are other humans out there with different beliefs and extreme grudges as a result of the disaster on planet Earth so conflicts will naturally arise as these groups have their encounters with each other. However, as the series advances it will be easy to tell that the biggest dangers for humans aren't with those that have different beliefs, but rather with the new hazards that inhabit this planet. This will make itself very clear in the final episode.

   The best parts for me were those when the android shows what it is capable of. The 2 androids that take care of the kids, Mother and Father are actually not the same. One of them is a normal service android while the other has much more advanced capabilities. Nevertheless, one thing I found very silly was the way the creators decided to give a certain vulnerability to this android. This vulnerability is extremely silly and designing an android with this potential weak spot doesn't make sense.

   On the other hand, even though the cast is mostly unknown to me, the performances were awesome for the most part. The CGI is absolutely top-notch and the writing was good but in the second half of the series, I think it was losing steam. It felt like the writers were desperate to generate new twists and introduce new elements.

   The season begins with the question regarding what happened on Earth, and ends not only without answering that question in detail but also with many more questions about the new planet, its past, its mysteries, and its apparently paranormal phenomena. There is a free digital comic book from HBO with more information that can be obtained here.

   If you enjoy scifi this series is close to being a must-watch. It is easily one of the best scifi series of the year, but more than scifi it also has a lot of mystery, drama, and action. It is a high-quality production and I am sure most people watching this will enjoy it.

   L'esordio di HBOMax non era stato dei migliori.

   Costretto a rinviare la tanto attesa reunion di Friends, causa covid-19, la piattaforma streaming della HBO era riuscita a stappare lo champagne lo scorso maggio presentando la prima serie tv originale, dal titolo Love Life e con protagonista Anna Kendrick.

   Un debutto sottotono e soprattutto distante dai canoni HBO, fatti di originalità, qualità e coraggio.

   Love Life era invece sembrato un prodotto semplice e poco coraggioso e di certo non originalissimo seppur godibile.

   Per fortuna di noi tutti, specie di noi adepti della Home Box Office, il secondo prodotto originale di HBOMax incarna totalmente i requisiti di originalità, qualità e coraggio aggiungendovi una buona dose di visione, un budget enorme e una ricercatezza fantascientifica degna dei migliori sci-fi visti sul grande schermo e sul piccolo.

   Non è un caso se a guidare questa operazione vi sia un nome che da solo è capace di attrarre pubblico e calamitare l'attenzione, uno dei padri della cinematografia contemporanea, uno di quei registi di cui tutti conosciamo il nome e di cui quasi tutti conosciamo almeno un film.

   Ridley Scott firma Raised By Wolves, lo sci-fi che prosegue la tendenza 2020 che sta vedendo un prepotente ritorno della fantascienza in tutte le sue sfaccettature, da Devs a Tales From The Loops fino ad arrivare appunto a questa gemma del padre di Blade Runner. Alien ed il Gladiatore.

   Sono tanti i temi cari al regista che qui vengono riproposti.

   In occasione della pubblicazione del mio articolo di ieri mattina su Ted Lasso, vi avevo anticipato come nello scegliere quale delle 2 serie tv sarebbe stata l'oggetto della mia analisi la scelta fosse ricaduta sul coach di Apple TV a causa della semplicità e leggerezza con la quale sarebbe stato possibile affrontare qualsivoglia discussione rispetto alla serie Apple TV.

   Leggete quel post e dimenticate tutto.

   Raised by the Wolves è al lato opposto dello spettro seriale.

   Comicità inesistente, gravitas massima, voglia di raccontare l'irracontabile, budget altissimo, filosofia tutta da scrivere e che abbraccia millenni di esistenza del genere umano, mitologia estesa senza alcun punto di riferimento reale, gli esseri umani più veri e coraggiosi sono degli androidi, plot twist come se piovesse, arzigogolatissime montagne russe emotive e narrative.

   Ecco perchè scrivere di Raised By Wolves è un peso ed una responsabilità.

   Il rischio è di non riuscire a trasmettervi la grandezza del prodotto e l'emozione provata nel vederla (numericamente potrei convincervi semplicemente invitandovi a leggere in quale posizione si trovi nelle classifiche 2020: novità, tutte, episodi)

   Ma con Raised By Wolves il rischio è duplice e non si ferma alla possibilità di non trasmettervi il giubilo personale. La serie di Ridley Scott è talmente stratificata e ambiziosa da confondere, da intontire come se si fosse stati travolti da un gancio di Mike Tyson. In questi casi sono 2 le reazioni che tipicamente vengono istintive: amore incontrastato e incrollabile, e dunque massima fiducia, oppure crollo delle certezze e dell'attenzione, e dunque conseguente abbandono.

   In qualche gioco a quiz nostrano di alcune decadi fa credo si dicesse "lascia o radoppia".

   Ecco, con Raised By Wolves vi troverete, tardi o presto, di fronte a questo bivio.

   Hello everybody🙋‍♂️. In this small post I want to present you a small review of a captivating science fiction film.

   

   A special recommendation for all lovers of science fiction films, from my point of view it is worth the time. it looks very interesting. Looking for a good series, recently i discovered this film released this year and i offered a slightly pessimistic chance. To my amazement i was glad that this movie was above my expectations. Now it depends a lot on each of us, i am aware that there are many people who don't want to hear about sf. and want drama, syrupy love stories or maybe something political story. Believe me, in this series you will have something to see from each genre.

   Ok..As you can see from the image above at the beginning of this post the name of the movie is,Raised By Wolves

   This is official trailer and HBO has announced that it will have a second season directed by the famous Ridley Scott
