Democracy is weak, and that which may be considered the strongest may be dissolved and also turned to dust when there are not enough human beings to protect it. That is the enigmatic reality in all this, perhaps it is the own lack of benevolence and the own criterion of belligerence that human beings possess in themselves. Who is healthier? Who possesses more power? Who can crush everything? Who can protect us? Who will erect freedom with his life? It seems that everything ends at the same point and question: What is emotional nobility?
La democracia es débil, y aquella que pueda ser considerada la más fuerte puede ser disuelta y también convertida en polvo cuando no existen seres humanos suficientes que le puedan proteger. Esa es la realidad enigmática en todo esto, quizás es la propia falta de benevolencia y el propio criterio de beligerancia que los seres humanos poseen en sí mismos. ¿Quién es más sano? ¿Quién posee más poder? ¿Quién puede aplastar todo? ¿Quién puede protegernos? ¿Quién erigirá con su vida la libertad? Parece que todo termina en el mismo punto e interrogante: ¿Qué es la nobleza emocional?
The word resistance has a meaning of much background and also has enough power to cause: Fear, yes, fear of those men who have been configured in absolutist, demagogic and populist practices in power. This film reflects that, that intrinsic message and that made me remember that point where everything is positional in my country.

Likewise, one of the strongest and most powerful points within history itself is the continued defense of life, one that is taken away in a tyrannical manner. Something very peculiar, is the mixture of elements that help to nuance that modular force in the film to establish that resistance, that is to say, acting power, images and integrated music. When I started watching the film I really didn't like to see Edgar Ramirez with his character as Sigmund, he didn't fit at all. I felt like a struggle between the role he was supposed to play, it doesn't fit and it's not configured. This is what I think, the scene, could have looked a little more dramatic with someone who would fulfill the descriptions a little more of the character, this as a way of seeing.
Realmente al comenzar a ver el film no me gustó ver a Édgar Ramírez con su personaje como Sigmund, no encajó para nada. Sentí como un forcejeo entre el papel que debía representar, no encaja y no es configurado. Esto es lo que yo pienso, la escena, pudo verse un poco más dramática con alguien que cumplirá las descripciones un poco más del personaje, esto a modo de ver.
On the other hand, there is the performance of Jesse Eisenberg as the great Marcel Marceau, I deeply liked the message they want to convey in the film, but the performance is flat and poor for what the character itself represents; that is, it is not fully intertwined with the strong power of a person who mimics. Likewise, there are scenes that could have been powerful and given more relevance, but some were so simple that they did not give a very strong point or in favor of the actor.

Igualmente, existen escenas que pudieron ser potentes y darle mayor relevancia, pero algunas fueron tan sencillas que no dieron un punto muy fuerte o a favor del actor.
One of the performances that enveloped and captivated me was that of Clémence Poésy as Emma, powerful and dramatic. You can feel that change in her in the different situations that gradually happen in France after the German occupation, and also what she perceived when she saw the torture of her sister was marked deeply in my mind, the expression and the performance was splendid.

Se siente ese cambio de ella en las diferentes situaciones que poco a poco suceden en Francia tras la ocupación alemana, y además eso que percibió al ver la tortura de su hermana quedó marcado de manera profunda en mi mente, la expresión y la actuación fue espléndida.
I must also note that Matthias Schweighöfer's role as Klaus Barbie is powerful, portraying an abominable man, a despot murderer and an inhuman man is really difficult. His repulsive performance, and one that causes dread and disgust, is one of the best in this film, the antagonist balances the fact of the protagonist's small weakness very well.
También debo acotar que el papel de Matthias Schweighöfer como Klaus Barbie es potente, representar a un hombre abominable, un asesino déspota y a un hombre inhumano es algo realmente difícil. Su actuación repulsiva, y que causa pavor y asco, es una de las mejores en este film, el antagonista equilibra muy bien el hecho de la pequeña debilidad del protagonista.

Something very powerful is to see how French democracy fell, it would have been very interesting to see those images of the seizure of power within the film; as well as the incorporation of the short films. A little bit more of a deterrent mix. Another point that should have been incorporated a little more deeply was the torture, and give a better representation of how it was carried out and not just leave it to the imagination.
Algo muy poderoso es ver como la democracia francesa cayó, hubiera sido muy interesante ver esas imágenes de toma del poder dentro del film; así como la incorporación de los cortos. Una mezcla un poco más disuasiva. Otro punto que debió de incorporarse de manera un poco más profunda fue la tortura, y dar una mejor representación de cómo se efectuaba y no dejarla únicamente a imaginación.
It lacked a bit more expressiveness on the part of actor Jesse Eisenberg in his role as Marcel Marceau, but other actors evenly dissuade that point. The story itself is a ticking time bomb, positioning the ideologies lacking and pretending hegemonies of power; while liberalism loses, but is overshadowed by its very weakness of congruence of criteria.

A film that takes for granted that the struggle of humanity must continue even when evil controls the power and de facto dissuades the whole world. Resistance, that is one of the most powerful words in the past and also in my country. Cardboard shields, buckshot, migration and persecution, has anything changed? No, I know, but one thing is very clear, the pain is not forgotten, the people who are gone will not go away and one thing I can say is that you learn to live with it.
Un film que deja por sentado que la lucha de la humanidad debe continuar aun cuando el mal controle el poder y disuada de facto todo el mundo. Resistencia, esa es una de las palabras más poderosas en el pasado y también en mi país. Escudos de cartón, perdigones, migración y persecución, ¿algo ha cambiado? No lo sé, pero algo está muy claro, el dolor no se olvida, las personas que no están no se irán y algo que puedo decir es que aprendes a vivir con ello.
It is a 9/10 on this occasion where the call is for freedom, for those who could not live, and who were prevented from enjoying the world by the mere ambition of a despot.
