Hoy les quiero dar mi opinión sincera sobre este drama coreano que en realidad comencé a ver solo porque el protagonista es Gong Myung de quién me enamore después verlo interpretar a Kim Ram Woo en way back Love, 🥰 pero la verdad me he llevado una grata sorpresa ya que este drama aborda un tema bastante importante y además de una manera bastante honesta.
Today I want to give you my honest opinion about this Korean drama that I actually started watching just because the main character is Gong Myung who I fell in love with after seeing him play Kim Ram Woo in way back Love, 🥰 but the truth is that I was pleasantly surprised because this drama deals with a very important topic and in a very honest way.

Este drama se destaca por abordar un tema que muy poco se ha explorado en el mundo del entrenamiento coreano: el alcoholismo. Lo que me resultó fascinante y refrescante es la forma en la que aborda este tema de manera tan honesta, Han Geum Joo( Choi Soo Young) es una ingeniera mecánica exitosa, pero con dependencia al alcohol, de regreso a su pueblo natal se reencuentra con Seo Ui Joon(Gong Myung) su ex amigo de la infancia quien es un médico especialista en tratar la adicción al alcohol y le ofrece ayudarla.

Cuando pensamos en alcoholismo se nos viene a la mente esa persona sin hogar que bebé alcohol barato prácticamente para sobrevivir durante el día y es esa imagen estereotipada del alcohólico lo que no nos permite reconocer el trastorno en realidad, jamás pensariamos que un hombre,o como es el caso en este drama, una mujer exitosa como Geum Joo pueda ser una alcohólica, pero este drama nos muestra la cruda realidad de que muchas personas exitosas y con vidas aparentemente perfectas son dependientes al alcohol y ni siquiera se dan cuenta, lo ven como algo normal alegando que lo hacen para relajarse después de un día difícil de trabajo.

Para nadie que vea dramas coreanos constantemente es un secreto que en Corea son demasiado indulgentes con el tema del alcohol y es que lo beben como si fuese agua, incluso los padres enseñan a sus hijos a beber, son muy normales las escenas donde los personajes se sientan a comer pollo frito con cerveza todo el tiempo, las cenas de equipo que hacen constantemente las empresas dónde quieras o no debes beber alcohol porque debes ganar puntos con tu jefe y como mencionaba anteriormente casi el 90% de los coreanos beben luego del trabajo debido al estrés, o sea no por nada Corea es uno de los países con más recetas para la resaca, tengo entendido que desde sopas hasta un helado de toronja tienen.

Por todo lo antes mencionado es que Second Shot at Love me parece un drama absolutamente necesario, sobre todo porque abordan el tema desde la perspectiva de una mujer fuerte, independiente y exitosa mostrando así que la adicción al alcohol puede afectar a cualquier persona rompiendo así el estereotipo del alcohólico. Obviamente la vida de Geum Joo no era perfecta tenía situaciones que la hacían refugiarse en el alcohol, eso y el hecho de no querer aceptar su adicción hicieron que su proceso de recuperación fuese aún más lento, pero eso hizo que todo fuese aún más realista y es que este drama no miente no te vende una idea fantasiosa, no es que la protagonista un día despertó y dejó la adicción no, tuvo que pasar por un proceso lento en el que obviamente tuvo recaídas.

Obviously Geum Joo's life was not perfect, she had situations that made her take refuge in alcohol, that and the fact of not wanting to accept her addiction made her recovery process even slower, but that made everything even more realistic and this drama does not lie, it does not sell you a fantasy idea, it is not that the protagonist woke up one day and left the addiction, no, she had to go through a slow process in which she obviously had relapses.
Por otro lado quiero destacar la importancia de tener aunque sea un familiar que se de cuenta de la situación e intente ayudar, en este drama la madre de Geum Joo se dió cuenta no solo que ella necesitaba ayuda sino también su esposo y su hija mayor, así que comenzo la ardua tarea de ayudarlos y aunque al principio sus métodos fueron radicales y poco efectivos sus intenciones eran buenas y poco a poco fue calmandose y pudo encontrar mejores maneras de ayudarlos desde el amor, pero algo que note fue mucha preocupación, frustración y también miedo de no poder ayudar a su familia, por eso aunque a veces su actitud era reprochable podía entenderla e incluso ponerme en su lugar, para los que hemos tenido familiares con adicción al alcohol se nos hace fácil empatizar con este personaje.

La historia de Seo Ui Joon y su padre abusivo y alcohólico nos muestra otra triste realidad sobre esta adicción, esa etapa en la que ya es irreversible lo que enfatiza aún más la necesidad de evitar caer en la adicción o buscar ayuda urgente si ya se ha caído en ella, repito este drama es muy honesto y hace énfasis en no consumir alcohol, no es que dice que lo puedes beber de vez en cuando NO, el consejo directo aquí es no consumir alcohol en lo absoluto porque es así como se comienza poco a poco a caer en la adicción, es por eso que este drama no es del agrado de muchas personas porque dice justo lo que no quieren escuchar sobre el alcohol.

Por supuesto que sí 🥰 aunque el tema principal es la adicción al alcohol este drama nos regala no una sino dos historias de amor muy hermosas 😍 la historia de amor de nuestros protagonistas amigos desde la infancia que se reencuentran después de tanto tiempo y la historia de amor entre la hermana de la protagonista y el hermano menor de su mejor amiga, esta historia en particular me robó el corazón ya que fue una relación bastante complicada era algo así como un "amor prohibido" y fue tanto triste como hermoso de ver. 🥰
Is there romance in this drama? Of course there is 🥰 although the main theme is alcohol addiction this drama gives us not one but two very beautiful love stories 😍 the love story of our main characters friends since childhood who meet again after so long and the love story between the main character's sister and her best friend's younger brother, this particular story stole my heart as it was a quite complicated relationship it was something like a "forbidden love" and it was both sad and beautiful to watch. 🥰
