  1. Rurouni Kenshin – Act 24: Savage Han’nya, Honorable Shikijo@lindaguz243d

    Captura desde 2025-11-07 20-38-54.png

    The Mask Shatters

Steel meets flesh, and with one decisive strike from Kenshin, Han’nya’s demon mask splinters. The cracked fragments fall to the floor, revealing the face beneath—scarred, twisted, and weathered by pain. For a moment, even Yahiko is speechless.

“This face,” Han’nya says calmly, “is perfect for a spy. No one remembers a monster.”

The corridor is silent. What once seemed like a terrifying mask now feels like a wound carved by the world itself. Han’nya’s eyes, however, burn with something pure—loyalty. “I was born into the shadows,” he continues, “and the Oniwabanshu gave me a purpose.”

Beneath the monstrous visage stands a man who sacrificed everything—his body, his pride, his humanity—for duty.

    The Iron Claws

Kenshin steadies his stance. “You’ve done enough, Han’nya. Step aside.”

Han’nya shakes his head, extending his hands. With a swift flick, iron claws slide from beneath his bandages—five gleaming blades forged for killing. “I’m a spy, yes. But I’m also a warrior of the Oniwabanshu. My mission is not over until you fall.”

He charges with frightening speed. The iron claws tear through the air, cutting stone and splintering walls. Kenshin dodges narrowly, the force of each strike shattering the ground where he stood. Han’nya’s movements are wild yet precise—his strength not born of hatred, but of conviction.

“This body was remade for battle,” Han’nya declares. “Every scar, every deformity… a gift from my training. I will not lose.”

Kenshin exhales softly. “Then I’ll honor your resolve—with my own.”

    The Warrior’s Farewell

The duel reaches its peak. Sparks fly, and the sound of metal cuts through the hall. Then, with a final surge of speed, Kenshin slips through Han’nya’s defense and lands a precise blow to his midsection—disabling, not lethal.

Han’nya stumbles back, his claws clattering to the ground. His breathing slows. “You’re strong… Battosai,” he says, a faint smile crossing his broken face. “I see now why Aoshi is interested in you.”

Kenshin bows slightly. “You fought with honor. You have nothing to be ashamed of.”

As the Kenshingumi move forward, Han’nya leans against the wall, bleeding but content. “Go on,” he whispers. “Beyond this point stands Shikijo—my brother in arms. Be careful… he’s nothing like me.”

The path ahead grows darker, but Kenshin’s heart feels heavier—for every enemy he defeats only reveals another soul consumed by purpose.

    Final Thoughts

Savage Han’nya, Honorable Shikijo is one of the most emotional duels in Rurouni Kenshin. It strips away the illusion of monsters and shows the humanity beneath. Han’nya is more than a spy—he’s a man shaped by pain and loyalty, a reflection of what happens when devotion replaces self-worth.

Kenshin’s victory isn’t a triumph; it’s an elegy. The respect between warrior and spy is mutual, and the cost of survival weighs heavy. Now, the road to Megumi runs through another test—the brute force of Shikijo, whose strength may rival even Kenshin’s.

  2. (ESP-ENG) Shiki oriori - Movie Review!@javyeslava.photo609d

    **

Hello friends, good vibes to all.

    **

Hola amigos, buenas vibras para todos.

    Source!

Definitely in anime, spectacular things can be done, stories that captivate and that are called to be totally transcendent for everyone who watches them. Shiki oriori is a film that is made up of three small stories, all independent of each other, which are based on the same center and background: nostalgia and memories. From the same creators of Kimi no Na wa (Your Name) Netflix presents us with this as a refreshing option and one that will evoke, I'm sure, some feelings that we all carry with us and that we thought we had overcome or that were no longer there. I say this from experience and that is that with the first story I personally felt very identified; that is the magic of this work, the ability to get along with the story.

Memories of a bowl of noodles - A beauty, the passage of time and a ray of light on the way - A bittersweet first love, are the three stories that will be told. The first one is the story of a young man who is alone working in a big city and out of the blue he had flashbacks of his youth, exactly the moment when he was eating noodles with his grandmother. It was his happy moment of the day, the one he enjoyed the most, until it simply stopped being that way because life moves on and waits for no one. It's a great blow to nostalgia and longing for what we no longer have.

    Source!

The second is about two sisters who only have each other, the older one, Yi Lin, is a model and the younger one, Lu Lu, is studying to be a fashion designer. Here what is reflected is how ephemeral life can be when work consumes us completely. Their relationship is not bad, but it is true that they have forgotten to live their life as sisters, to show their affection and admiration for each other, which in the end leads to an argument and a very emotional ending. And finally the third and the most heartfelt for me is an incomplete love story. Li Mo and Xiao Yu are great childhood friends, they go everywhere together. They love and like each other but because of their age they don't show it so easily. Their eagerness to be together is such that by a simple mistake of communication or indifference their stories take a turn. Friends, honestly, my heart crumpled with the development of this story.

I don't want to be repetitive or redundant but this for me is a real gem. While it is true that this may not be my favorite genre the impact of the three stories made me be moved, one more than another, but all with a very important emotional charge. We all miss a loved one, we all have a family member with whom we have lived many things together and of course we all have a love story that didn't happen. What these three situations have in common is the nostalgia that is generated around them, they are the memories and moments lived that make you question many things or sometimes, being more drastic, you want to turn back time.

I lost my grandmother 7 years ago and I still remember her every day, watching the first story for me was special because beyond the sadness what has to last are the moments lived with that person. This is what this movie is about, you have to live life to the fullest, think about the now, forget about what people will say and understand that those good old times will not come back but that we still have time to build better ones. That is the teaching. Brutal how they developed the stories, they are short, about 20 minutes but enough to understand them. Obviously you are going to enjoy this, I think they are a balm to remember great things in our lives.

You know when an animation is good? - When the food looks appetizing. The scenes of the noodle preparations in the first story are incredible, they literally make you hungry; the attention to detail, the colors, the fluidity of the liquids, the delicacy that surrounds the whole process is a visual pleasure. In itself, the whole film is visually on another level. The play of light, character and city design (this is set in China) is very cool, everything is quite enjoyable. And if you saw Your Name you will know more or less how it goes.

Highly recommended to watch, it's short, not even an hour and a half and I'm sure you'll enjoy it a lot. The three stories are very different but they all get where they need to go. A great discovery and I was very happy to have seen this, I hope you do the same. I'll leave the trailer here.

  3. Shiki - Horror Anime Review@devpress1995d

Let me clear one thing before we start the review. I hate twilight, but I love vampire stories. I always try to find something dark among the vampire lores. And it's pretty fun to explore every vampire stories in anime too.

Today I wish to review slow burn anime series named Shiki. At first look if you check the trailer, you won't be as excited as you get excited when you watch the trailer or series of Heilsing. But this slow burn drama horror however will keep you watching for some time.

Let's get started with our review of Shiki.

    img01.png

    Story

Considering the story is slow burn horror. It starts off with pretty much grim graphics and the slow character development. You come across new twists and turns in every episodes. The series has around 22 episodes along with side episodes which you can skip but they are worth watching. For those who like quick horror, I won't be surprise they may not like the story. But for me I kind of loved how slowly it moved.

In rural village, a lot of twists happen in the name of death, return of the dead and also the vampirish setup that is sown into the story like domino effect. In between you'd find pretty creepy graphics that would keep you hooked to the story. Though if you are tired of twilight type of stuff you may starting to hate the slow approach of this story.

    Graphics

The best part about the anime is the graphics. It is not your typical vampire graphics with the gore violence stamped all over. In fact you get more or less semi gothic and sadistic kingdom like vibe while you see the twists and the violence that happens all around the village.

    img02.jpg

They have drawn most of the graphics with pretty much care. However some of the character design like priests character sounds like bland. And also it does not give you much attention to some characters which are heavily painted and come across as annoying. However if you take overall series into the mind, graphics is pretty well done.

    Execution

Anime has been pretty well setup for the bing watching. So if you are watching this anime on Netflix or the Cruncyroll. I'd recommend finish it in one setting otherwise you won't want to come back later as it takes time to settle yourself for the story and the way the progression goes for the story. It's slow burn anime for a reason after all.

    img03.jpg

You may find that the anime does not give you much of jump scare like most of the horror anime. However it has some twists in the story that would make you want to connect the dots and keep you guessing on what is about to come. And it kind of feels too dark at some time and too grim sadist vibe on the other.

    What's good about the Anime?

I think there are lot of things to like about the anime. You will learn a lot about how the inhuman mentality works in the anime. And something about humanity and how hopeless it can be. You would love some of the points which kind of teaches you more about the society when the odds are placed around. Sounds track is also good. You would also love the graphics for some of the characters in the anime.

What is not so good about the Anime?

If you hate slow burn animes, then you are going to hate this anime. Also the horror and the dark vibes in the anime are pretty slow and sometimes give you wrong vibes about the plot holes. Which for most of the horror fans is easy to ignore and watch the series in a bing watch.

    Should you watch this?

Yes, if you like horror then this series is worth going for. Though you are warned that it would be slow burn series and also pretty gothickish in it's graphics.

Unless you hate horror, you should definitely watch this anime.

(Shiki):Introduction To A Meditative Anime Masterpiece Through Music@vimukthi2166d

There is a small story about the writing of this post. It all began with a YouTube recommendation. I was browsing and I came across a compilation of music from 屍鬼 which is one of those 10/10 masterpieces for me. I saw it dew years after its release and I became easily mesmerized by it. The music as phenomenal and coveys what the story feels like extremely well. I thought I would make this into my first anime recommendation done through sharing some of the music. Here is that music collection:

    • Music was composed by Yasuharu Takanashi
    • Anime series was directed by Tetsurō Amino
    • Produced by Ai Abe, Takamitsu Inoue, Noriko Ozaki, Hideo Isono
    • Writen by Kenji Sugihara
    • The novel series was written by Fuyumi Ono and manga was ilustrated by Ryu Fujisaki
    • The author is married to Yukito Ayatsuji who is another phenomenal author (He wrote "Another")

The Final Anime Series of Studio Daume

Daume Co.,Ltd. was founded in 1986. They mad many anime. But in 2010 they made their last work which is Shiki which is a masterpiece. The anime was 22 episodes. An year later two more episodes came out (episode 20.5 and episode 21.5) which further expanded what happened in the later parts of the story. If you worked on Studio Daume or know someone who did, please let it be known that Daume went out with a bang that is unique and still without a rel imitator to this date as far as I know.

Few YouTube Reviews/Comments/Discussions (Heavy Spoilers Included)

___ ___ ### Legatus Sedricillius the way I see it, the Shiki are cursed to have a second chance at life but must stab their own humanity in the back in order to exist. a clash, paradox of human nature. the animal sense to survive, clashing with the human ethics and morality that make up such a vast element of what it means to be human. the humans, meanwhile face the same, living in a world where they must turn on those they loved in order to prevent further pain and suffering. they become brutal, a wolf and her cubs cornered by what the wolf used to think was her mate, they fight, their desire for survival driving them to vanquish the other, but once doing so, can only grieve as they realize that their souls have been shredded in the process.

the special cruelty of it is that a Shiki seems to need about 1/8 of a human's total blood quantity to survive on a mere daily basis. therefore, it is impossible for a Shiki and a human to coexist peacefully, (as seen by Tohru and poor natsuno) as the Shiki can only look on in despair as it's fellow human is slowly drained and ultimately dies. it also seem that this is also the minimum. we see at the start of the show that a single woman cannot live with two men, imagine forcing yourself to starve merely so those around you remain barely alive.

but as to my conclusion, the Shiki MUST be exterminated. it's cruel, it's obvious to see how much they suffer and how one feels compassion, but what it boils down to, is a prey vs predator scenario. the prey can live fine without the predator, but the predator needs to kill its prey in order to live. Humanity has clawed it's way to the top of the Homo family, it's clawed it's way to the top of the food chain, and we have developed societies and civilizations to protect ourselves. the moment a force of nature in the form of another species rises to contend with us, and cannot peacefully co-exist, then humanity must eliminate the threat, or in other words, the wolf must strike down the hyena or it will live in a system where the hyena takes more and more of her cubs, before the wolf's family is doomed. It's cruel, it's harsh, especially since the Shiki used to be human. if it weren't the case, then humanity would curse itself to eons of mental torture as they struggle in a world where loved ones rise and strike down former family. the threat must be eliminated, the pain must be endured so that this demonic situation can never plague humanity again. the dead remain dead and do not die prematurely, and no one is forced to live through the mental hell of being a Shiki. The humans were right in eliminating the Shiki, as the doctor realized. it was tearful, heinous work, but it ensured their own survival over an enemy that should never have been, it ensured that the threat did not spread, and it ensured the following generations and the survivors would be able to return to a peaceful society.

but why humanity and not the Shiki? simple. a world of humans is able to exist, a world of rotting corpses and Shiki could not. unless the Shiki started farming humans and forcing them to reproduce at excessive rates, and considering how multitudes of the food would become Shiki, and therefore demand a greater amount of human livestock, it's a naturally self-destructive system. inevitably, the Shiki will die off, surrounded by corpses dried of blood. humanity at least has a chance. even more so, you'd be turning hundreds of millions of years of family mentality wrought about by evolution on its head. imagine a world were you were born on a human farm, raised for your blood, and are ultimately served up to your parents, grandparents, strangers who look exactly like you, who your very DNA is told to recognize as friendly, as an ally. imagine a world where you have to look at every elder in the same way as a crocodile, a lion, a shark, hungry for your flesh. it screams of insanity. a mothers love would be tested at every meal, social, community ties would be snapped every day.

but, I also cannot disregard some elements. ultimately, all the Shiki must be exterminated, but I see the Shiki split into two categories. the ones who adapt, detach themselves from humanity and become hunters, losing their humanity (although plagued by it) like Sunako, Nao, Tatsumi and the traitorous Seishin monk. and those who remain steadfast to their humanity, refuse to become an enemy of those they love and starve to death/take out the other category with them. like Tohru (eventually), Ritsuko and Natsuno. those trios have my respect and my allegiance. Tohru was a really interesting case, a broken boy torn between his humanity and his corrupted primal instinct. he killed, he took down Natsuno, but ultimately, the humanity won out and he finally got that eternal date with Ritsuko he always wanted. he is seen in my books as an enemy that has dealt pain but took himself out before he could do further harm.

the Villagers, also, dealt appropriately. they extracted revenge and eliminated the cause of what had robbed them of their family, and then had to put down the rest. in a truly horrific situation of father killing son, father killing daughter, sister killing brother that's why the doctor and the tanky grandfather have my respect. they had to go through mental torture in order to save the remaining ones they loved. the doctor killed his wife to find out how to kill the enemy, and the father had to kill his own son, and other villagers so that they could never harm any others. in some cases, I felt the death some characters deserved was just. others, like the collateral damage of Seishin's family, was against my moral compass, but in this case, it's understandable to see why what was done was done. they had to eliminate the threat, and if even one got away, then everything could start over again, they couldn't afford to take chances. Thus, they were under pressure, and although regrettable, the misjudged actions of killing wounded humans and the monks family were understandable and were outweighed by the situation at hand. both sides had to tear their humanity to shreds, and humanity had to do what it had to do, and the Shiki suffered and were eliminated in order to ensure their unwilling reign of horror was brought to an end.

On Sunako's quote: "I think death is equally terrible for everyone. Young people, old people, the good, the bad; it's always the same. It's rather fair in its treatment. There's no such thing as a particularly terrible death, that's why it's frightening. Your behavior and age, your personality, your wealth, beauty, your personal beliefs; all the things that add up to make us who we are, they only matter while we're alive. Death makes every last one of them null and void. So any death is terrible." -yeah duh, but, the way you die is also very important. the last moments of your life, that conclusion to your finite presence on this world, is critical. a child born into a world of pain and suffering for months before death is way worse then a 92-year-old man passing peacefully, surrounded by loved ones. the baby was blessed with life, and the cruel lottery of life dealt her with a sickening one. in the grand scheme of thing, Sunako is right, but when drawn into the context of humanity, and human life, it becomes crucial how and when we die. death is the ultimate leveler, it comes to us all. (until someone invents either biological or digital nervous system replication so the consciousness can be transferred to another state. {a bit like plugging in a USB and transferring (not backing up, to avioid that whole "is it the same ship if you replace every pla....) your hard drive to another computer [don't get your hopes up, might never happen]}). a bit boggoling, sorry :) have a merry long life everyone!

it's such a facinating story, and anime has truly bestowed us a philisophical delight in this one. god i love this show.

if you think it another way humans are for shikis like animals to humans: they hunt humans like humans hunted animals before. If you dont wanna die then you have to adapt fast and be able to live as a shiki. Those, who were able to leave their past as a human-being behind had great chances for survival best example Megumi Shimizu: I liked her, just because for her adaptability for her unusual situation, unlike a lot of other shikis, who couldnt do that. (if she wouldnt have been killed the most dumb way possible ... Natsuno ruined her indirectly even though he had not much to do with her besides starting the witchhunt with the doctor so its just ... love for the wrong guy? you could philosophize about that too if you want) Now if you think about it the Shikis had their own little society, rules, hierarchy etc. Would you think them as animals just because they drink blood to survive? If yes then what about humans? They breed animals just to eat them because he needs to eat to survive, there is almost no diffrence between human-animal relationship and a shiki-human relationship. If you humans can take the right to be above other lifeforms, then why not the shiki? (if they werent been exterminated beforehand) Humans are still animals deep within everything else is just a lie, a facade for the proud little weak being himself because he doesnt want to be compared to lower lifeforms. (Im Sorry english isnt exactly my thing)

___ ___ # AkritiRajput This anime is so philosophical it has such deep meaning to it. It irritated me in the beginning as it was slow but when the story built up I started questioning my own thinking honestly made me question morality. Even now when I listen to the soundtrack I can track back to those emotions and no doubt i have tears in my eyes. This is one of the very few animes that have an outstanding soundtrack which will engross u more into the show and if you are a fan of instrumentals and anime osts believe me you will save these tracks in your heart even before your mp3! So if you are a kind of person who likes thinking and questioning and who likes mystery I would recommend this anime strongly. it is sadly not looked very well upon by the anime community but such shows rarely come.

Reply by ThoughtfulLuis: +akritithegreat I clicked on this video then decided to pause it and watch the anime. So I did just that and not one tear was shed, then I came back to this video and I felt a rush of emotion and my eyes became teary. I agree with your opinion and how powerful this soundtrack is. In the end I didn't really cry because you reminded me that we aren't really sure where we stand(morality), so I realized that there was no need to become upset over something I don't know.

Above is Why This Post Exist

This are but a small preview of the community of 屍鬼 lovers. All these comments are from a single a music compilation. I feel the same passion about the series. The latter parts of the story deals with the aftermath of the revelation of the mystery, horror aspect. I will present you the personal story from a fan to illustrate the beauty of Shiki.

    Seijatachi

I was talking to my friend because she loves anime like this, but she didn't know whether or not to watch it because of its art style. So I said: "If your friend became a monster and you was allowed to, would you kill her?" With a confused look she replied "I don't know." I then said "Once you watch this anime you will know the answer." She watched it. And her answer? "What if we was both monsters?"

    One More Quote

“Death is terrible for anyone. Young or old, good or evil, it’s all the same. Death is impartial. There is no especially terrible death. That’s why death is so fearsome. Your deeds, your age, your personality, your wealth, your beauty: they are all meaningless in the face of death.” - Sunako Kirishiki

Shiki isn't exactly horror. It's not about vampires or demons. Shiki is a meditation. Shiki is an invitation. Shiki will take you to place; places worth visiting. It's not fun. It's not disturbing. It's not just beyond black & white; it's not even grey. What you feel listing to the music might as well be what Shiki is about. It's a lonely place you can visit alone or with friend. 屍鬼 si an anime to transform you.

  5. Anime Review: Shiki@thatanimesnob2942d

First of all, this show HAS VAMPIRES. And now that we got this little spoiler out of the way, which was constantly teasing you about what the hell is going on in the first episodes, let’s talk about the anime. Its hook for most who watched it when it came out was that IT’S NOT TWILIGHT and that it returns to more traditional forms of the undead. But not traditional enough since vampires in ancient traditions were demons possessing corpses in areas full of sinful people. They were not bishonens with crazy hairstyles. We are still getting Bram Stoker’s romanticized version of vampirism being some sort of a decease which makes you crave for blood.

The story can be seen as three arcs. In the first arc people are dying and the rest are trying to figure out if something other than mosquito bites is causing it, in the second we see vampires turning more people into them, and in the third the people find out what is going on and go to the offence. It seems great the way I make it sound but suffers greatly from tonal shifts. It constantly jumps from one thing to another. First it is occult mystery, then it is vampire horror, and then it is a social drama about vampires having the right to live too… even though they are undead. And to make things even more convoluted, there are also werewolves and some fairy tale about Abel and Cain which never made much sense. What I am trying to say here is that there is a huge build up with very little pay off. And here is why.

    • The story is introducing a hundred characters and doesn’t bother to flesh them out. It is constantly moving from one character to another, making it impossible to remember anyone’s name or personality. Which by the way, they don’t have much; you will be remembering them only by their hairstyles, and holy crap those are some really crazy hairdos. I have seen less wacky stuff in slapstick comedies. The only ones who you will end up remembering is the doctor for being present and doing stuff all the time. Of course even he needed half the show to realize mosquito bites don’t come in pairs which always happen to have the exact same distance from each other. Oh, there is also that bland pretty boy who serves as nothing more than fujoshi bait by being on every poster of this stupid show.

    • It is hyping this monster that is killing people, only to reveal in a most anti-climactic way that they were simply vampires, who are just misunderstood and want a place to settle down. It took six episodes to just tell us something 99% of the viewers already suspect or know from the very start, making them lose rewatch value. The creepy atmosphere is great but it is not scary when you know the revelation is anything but that. The vampires are not the demons possessing corpses variant. They are exactly the same as they were when they were still alive. Not to mention it’s a huge troll to feel sorry for them dying, only to be told they are not dead after all. That is one of the worst mood swings even made in a series.

    • It is making it seem like the vampires have a masterplan when their plan never had a chance of actually succeeding. Seriously, you wanted to turn everybody into vampires and still assumed that would be kept hidden from the rest of the world just because a doctor would say it was just an epidemic? You would have the NSA all over your ass in a day. And where would you find enough blood for thousands of vampires every night without being found out?

    • It is also hard to give a shit about the so-called tragedy in the story when everybody is a retard who gets what he deserves. The vampires had a plan which would never work, and the humans actually believed it was normal to have half the village dying because of mosquitoes and then they were just casually killing their own family while talking about going for tea afterwards. WTF, are they brain dead? These are your loved ones you are so casually butchering and you act like some sort of fascist assholes, taking joy and pride in cleansing the village from tainted blood! I know it’s supposed to be done that way so it will feel tragic, but it comes off more stupid than sad.

So basically, the script is fucking awful. It doesn’t know what it’s doing with its own concept and the only reason so many liked it is because they thought anything with lots of gore and death makes something deep and mature. You know, like Elfen Lied was. And nobody seemed to mind stuff like why are the werewolves serving the vampires when they are better than them in everything? Or why is everybody making so much fuss about what they want, when they can be simply brainwashed with magic to become mindless killing machines?

But I will admit that the colors are pretty and the music is really nice to listen to. But if that is all it takes to make a show perfect, go fap to Guilty Crown. Bottom line, this is another show for edgelords and fujoshis who find euphoria at the sight of gore and pretty boys with sad lives. It is not as bad as Twilight (few things are) but it still has a lot of gaga BS in it that prevent you from really enjoying it. If you happen to rewatch it you will realize it has a very slow build up, shitty pay-off, and constantly shifts to different stuff in very sloppy ways.
