Hi guys, how are you all? Hope many of you are well. Friends, some Hollywood movies are very famous. Among them, the movie that I will talk about today, I think this movie is also very famous. This movie was released in 2007, but even today, it seems that the movie was released a few days ago. Maybe this movie is one of the few movies that never gets old. After a long time, the movie came in front of my eyes, so I thought without delay, I would watch the movie and have a talk with my friends.
Friends, at the beginning of the movie, two soldiers are shown sitting on a rocky hill with two snipers waiting for the enemy. After waiting for some time, they see the enemy coming, they immediately attack them with the sniper. After a while, it was seen that the enemy attacked the snipers together. The soldiers asked for help from their senior officer, but the senior officer did not help them in any way and left them to fend for themselves. This is how the movie starts. The director presented excellently at the beginning. Anyone who sees the beginning will want to see the rest.
The movie is basically an action movie made with soldiers. Filled with great action scenes from start to finish. This movie has action scenes, suspense, and thrillers. All in all, it is a very beautiful movie. This movie shows the character of an honest soldier; on the other hand, how a dishonest officer uses the honest soldiers for their interests and makes them traitors. And finally, it shows how the truth wins or the honest people win. The event of the movie has been presented very beautifully, especially the choreographer or action director, and cameraman of this movie have presented it very beautifully to everyone.
.
Especially since the movie is halfway, the way the director has taken it to the end of the movie is admirable, if Milat had not made it beautiful from here, maybe the film would not have turned out so beautifully. The movie has a great finish. As the beginning has been brilliantly presented, the director has finished the end of the movie in a very beautiful way. I did not feel any part of this movie here; the director has done something extra and tried to present it perfectly in every place.
Those who have seen this movie will agree with me, and those who haven't seen this movie yet, if you like action movies, then you can watch this movie if you want. I can say that you will like the movie very much. I have seen this movie several times before, and after a long time, I saw it again, and I liked it very much.
In this action thriller, we follow Bob Lee Swagger, a retired army sniper who is called in to carry out a seemingly routine mission that soon turns into a dangerous conspiracy.
Bob Lee Swagger, played by the talented Mark Wahlberg, is an expert marksman with lethal skills and an unwavering sense of duty.
However, when he is duped and accused of a crime he did not commit, he is forced to go on the run and fight to clear his name and unravel the truth behind the conspiracy he is involved in.
Throughout the film, we witness Bob Lee Swagger's prowess in the art of long-range warfare, as well as his ingenuity and determination to confront his enemies and uncover the web of lies and corruption that surrounds him.
With intense action scenes, moments of intrigue and unexpected surprises, ‘Shooter’ keeps the viewer on the edge of their seat throughout.
In addition to the thrilling plot centred on Bob Lee Swagger's fight for justice, the film also tackles themes of loyalty, betrayal and sacrifice in a world of dark interests and hidden agendas.
With a strong cast, sharp dialogue and masterful direction, ‘Shooter’ has become a benchmark of modern action cinema.
The film's stunt coordination and explosive action sequences earned it a nomination at the Taurus World Stunt Awards, highlighting its technical proficiency.
Shooter was a modest box office success, grossing over $95 million worldwide on a budget of $61 million.
This solid commercial performance cemented Wahlberg's status as a reliable leading man capable of headlining high-octane genre films.
The career of director Antoine Fuqua offers an intriguing lens through which to examine the changing attitudes of Hollywood towards geopolitical subjects. In 2003, his film Tears of the Sun was released just before the US invasion of Iraq and was widely interpreted as a jingoistic celebration of American military power and its role in bringing democracy and preserving human rights around the world. Fast forward four years to Shooter, an action thriller that takes a diametrically opposed view, positing that US military adventures are part of the problem rather than the solution.
Based on Stephen Hunter's 1993 novel Point of Impact, the film tells the story of Gunnery Sergeant Bob Lee Swagger, played by Mark Wahlberg, an elite US Marine Corps sniper who takes part in a covert mission near the Ethiopian-Eritrean border. The operation goes awry, and Swagger loses his trusted spotter Donnie Fenn (played by Lane Garrison). Barely surviving the ordeal, he retreats to a quiet civilian life three years later but is soon approached by mysterious US government operatives led by Colonel Isaac Johnson (played by Danny Glover) who ask for his expert help in preventing an assassination attempt on the US President. Swagger deduces that the attempt will take place during a speech in Philadelphia and goes there to assist counter-sniper teams. However, it turns out that the real target is not the President but an Ethiopian archbishop, and Swagger has been set up as a convenient scapegoat. Wounded but resourceful, he escapes with the help of Fenn's widow Sarah (played by Kate Mara) and FBI agent Nick Memphis (played by Michael Peña), ultimately striving to prove his innocence and expose the conspiracy involving high-ranking US government officials.
Shooter is a film that is at once anachronistic and in tune with its time. Its anachronism stems from an old-school formula of 1980s action films, where a lone Ramboesque protagonist not only defies the odds against his survival but also easily dispatches small armies of enemies. Just like many action heroes from that era, Swagger quickly realizes that he won't defeat his enemies through conventional (i.e., legal) means and must resort to vigilantism in order to achieve any level of justice.
What makes the film modern is the script by Jonathan Lemkin, which wears its author's disgust with the policies of George W. Bush and the Iraq War on its sleeve. The dialogues explicitly mention abuses at Abu Ghraib, official lies about weapons of mass destruction or real motives for invasion. Furthermore, the plot even makes a connection to the JFK assassination, building on conspiracy theories about a cabal of US politicians, intelligence community, and military-industrial complex that would recently become known as the "Deep State." This phenomenon is represented by Senator Meachum, a despicably corrupt and evil figure played by Ned Beatty, who was obviously inspired by the dark figure of Dick Cheney. One can find present-day counterparts to this character in numerous influential bloodthirsty warmongering US senators.
Most of the target audience probably didn't think much of the film's politics and was more attracted to its old-school action. Fuqua, a director quite experienced in the genre, delivered with a series of exciting and well-choreographed scenes, including those that made viewers familiar with sniper tactics, portrayed in a very suspenseful way.
Shooter also benefited from good cinematography by Peter Menzies Jr., use of picturesque Canadian locations, as well as a serviceable music score by Mark Mancina. The cast is solid, with Mark Wahlberg delivering a stoic and resourceful performance that easily overshadows Michael Peña's portrayal of the protagonist's sidekick. Kate Mara is also good in her role, although it sometimes feels thankless, such as in the exploitative scene where she wears underwear while her character gets abducted by a psychopathic government operative played by unhinged Elias Koteas.
Critics, particularly those of a more "artsy" and snobbish persuasion, didn't like Shooter due to their bias against the action genre. This sentiment is evident even when films politically correspond with their own sentiments. On the other hand, the general audience was more open to Fuqua's work, making it into a solid commercial success.
In 2016, Hunter's novel received another adaptation in the form of Shooter, a TV series starring Ryan Phillippe in Swagger's role, which remained on air for three seasons.
At the end of the day, Shooter is a film that offers a compelling mix of action and politics, providing viewers with an entertaining and thought-provoking experience. While it may not be perfect, its strengths lie in its well-executed action sequences, solid performances, and timely political themes.
›The best sniper in the U.S. / Shooter 2007 / Review / (ENG/ESP)@lionsaturbix1109d
Welcome my dear cine maniac friends.
A few days ago I was looking through some old movies of the action genre that could catch my attention, until I found a trailer of one from 2007.
What caught my attention was a specific scene where an expert soldier, trained with sniper weapons, makes a scene defending himself from a case where he is blamed for a murder.
It further caught my attention when one of the actors I know named Mark Wahlberg, who has been in some good movies, appears in this story.

THE FAMOUS U.S. SHARPSHOOTER.
The best shooter in the country of the USA, Bob Lee Swangger played by Mark Wahlberg introduces us to a lieutenant almost commander of the army, who we will see him on his last mission across the country to annihilate some mobsters.
But after losing his assistant and best friend he decides to retire because his remote investigation team leaves him and his partner to their fate, in this type of work your right hand has to be your partner, when there is no such union can hardly fight alongside them because you will be expecting to be left alone at any time.
THE SCENE THAT CAUGHT MY ATTENTION.
Imagine a man who is in custody and out of nowhere takes his gun and shoots at close range any of the members of this meeting and then walks away unharmed, I actually found this scene interesting to the point that I wanted to watch it.
In this scene we will see Bob defend his case against a murder he "committed", or you could say that he was wrongfully framed with a trap to sink him and get him put behind bars or killed.
What I loved the most is that Mark Wahlberg's performance was so real that it was as if he was living that moment himself, personally I would give him a 10/10 for the excellent performance.
SIDE BY SIDE
Due to the murder committed, Bob is looking for a way to escape in the face of all the chaos, but almost half the country is out to get him, if not for a member of the FBI who witnessed his disappearance (in exchange for a beating they gave him while he was on the run) but it wasn't his fault, Bob had to run and with it beat up every visible law enforcement agency in order to escape.
This man, Nick Memphis played by Michael Peña, was being blamed as a suspect for the investigations he was conducting, since he alone, according to what he has been investigating, believes that Bob was not the one who killed a politician, for that reason Nick is on Bob's side, although he has no proof of this, he only trusts his logic, the same logic that makes us think that the politician was killed, because it is discovered that he only left him wounded, and that if it was really Bob who shot him, because of his experience as a sharpshooter, leaving the politician alive was proof that it was not really Bob who shot him.
STOPPED BY STRATEGY OR BECAUSE HE COULD NOT FIGHT AGAINST A WHOLE COUNTRY.
Before a big war of a whole country against only 2 people, you just give up or think of a move that could be a double-edged sword, but Bob already knew that if he was stopped or not he would die anyway, so he wanted to make a kamikaze, he can do it and win this fight in eliminating only 2 people or die trying.
I really loved the story of this movie, although Bob wanted to take revenge only for the death of his dog, since he was killed in the middle of all the chaos, here it shows a lot the love of a man towards his pet, because for Bob his dog was like his brother and soul friend.
The acting of all the actors in this movie was too good, they all focused on their characters and the setting and unfolding of the story was too good.
Movies like this where a whole nation is turned against just 2 people and to see them together survive a whole battalion is phenomenal, it shows a lot about the kind of training these two people had to be able to fight through all the chaos that comes their way.
I give this movie a 10/10, it had all the things I like in a movie.
This movie is available on Netflix.
›[ENG - ESP] My Experience Watching the Movie "El Tirador" Shooter (2007). // Mi Experiencia Viendo la Película "Shooter" El Tirador (2007).@ksmith71751d
Hello friends of the cinephile community par excellence, after a few days of hard work, I had the opportunity to see a movie that caught my attention for its action scenes; and although it is the first time I came across it, I decided to give it a chance and stay until the end of the story. It is the film Shooter "The Shooter", which despite having top quality actors, I don't remember it had great promotion in 2007. I thought the script was fantastic and the way it revolves around the main character, without forgetting to include the supporting actors that liven up the set and give that sequential sense to the plot. The presence of Mark Wahlberg is imposing, an actor that when he appears on the scene captures the attention and what is expected is good action.
A few minutes into the film, I already knew that retired sniper Bob Lee Swagger is approached by members of the bureaucratic government, to perform a special mission, in the face of a national security threat, so he is convinced to come out of retirement momentarily to assume a role that would result in a kind of "scapegoat". However, despite the fact that Bob is an elite ex-military man, he falls into an unexpected trap; from which he survives based on his experience (and the help of the film's director hahaha), starting then a thrilling double hunt. The apparently "good guys" of the government, incriminate and persecute Swagger, without knowing that he will fight to the extreme, to save his life and prove his innocence. From that point on, I did not want to leave the screen until I saw the development and end of this film.
Although I am no longer so impressed by the unscrupulous practices of political figures representing militarily powerful countries, I believe that in this film they manage to take the subject to another level, one that makes us think about the atrocious decisions that are made behind administrative offices by "powerful" people, but lacking in humanity. For them, everything has a price, regardless of the lives of innocent people; as I watch this on the screen, my mind fleetingly goes through the words that a real estate broker told me, some years ago: "The world revolves around a ticket", I remember that my answer was just a smile. Personally I consider that human beings are collaborators and social by nature, when we do a good deed we feel that something comforts our spirit. That is why I do not accept (personal title) that type of authorities that promote inhuman acts, against the lives of defenseless people; and that are practically "untouchable".
And it is precisely this "untouchability" that is broken in this film, but in a very suspicious way; this is one of the reasons why it caught me. Bob Swagger, a Russian guy, brave and above all intelligent, has a work methodology that he also applies in his life, being highly technical and extremely careful. By those principles he was able to prove his innocence before the US Attorney General himself, along with the deplorable character of Colonel Johnson (Danny Glover); it also caused me a strange, but pleasant sensation, to see this gentleman of acting, in a villain role hahaha. Another good impression I have is that of agent Nick Memphis, who becomes aware of the plot and later suffers the horrendous tortures applied by his colleagues in the government agencies (parallel to the CIA). So Memphis inevitably becomes Swagger's best ally, who after saving his life, ends up proving his innocence in the murder case for which he is held responsible.
With this great combination of positive factors, the movie becomes interesting; although I must mention that I couldn't help but compare the scene in the big house, to the one in Arnold Swarzenegger's movie "Commando" hahaha, who armed with a shotgun, gets rid of a large number of soldiers loyal to a dictator who lives on an island (if I remember correctly hahaha). But in the case of Mark Wahlberg, he has high-tech weaponry and places bombs in strategic places of the house, foreseeing the massive attack; and with the help of his new "best friend", he keeps in constant communication at a distance, who informs him of the latent dangers in the place. I liked this movie production, maybe it is not the best action movie, but it has enough elements to be among my recommended ones. The dialogues are great, especially in the scenes when Bob and Memphis go to see Mr. Rate (an old fox in the art of shooting) and then with Swagger's counterpart, retired sniper Michailo Sczerviak. It was a very good experience, being a well made movie.
I recommend it to you.
