As for the plot…

The story takes place in 1930's Tokyo, where the young Yuily, together with a group of “Jaegers”, chase a group of vampires that left China and fled to Japan; all under a secret mission, hiding their weapons under the shape of instruments. Yuily seems to be a normal boy, but in reality he is a werewolf, who is marked by a tragic past, where vampires wiped out the entire Dogville village and his family.

For this reason, he joins this group of vampire hunters to prevent these evil beings to rule the world, besides, the destruction of Sirius' clan is due to the search for an ancestral object, which would help them to obtain the maximum technological knowledge of the world. However, he will find several armed surprises on his way, which will make him falter. Will they be able to stop these cruel beings from achieving their goal? What is the destiny that awaits young Yuily?

Personal opinion

Personally, I am very attracted to stories related to vampires and werewolves, being the main reason why I decided to watch it, besides an animation that attracted me. The story, at the beginning, felt well planned, followed an adequate rhythm, starting to focus on something in particular, but, about halfway, I think rather before, it began to lose sense and did not deepen the facts, example of this is that it fails to understand the origin of the jaegers, many things at the same time put that ended up affecting the pace and development of the plot, in addition to the little solidity in their characters.

Even so, for the aesthetics that it had, it was very good, even the battle shots are decent, but beyond that animation that it presented, it is not a story that allows to have a stable group of fans and to be remembered for a long time, in short, it lacked polish; perhaps if it had had a second season where they compensated for those failures, it would be a well spoken series. As for the music, for me I loved it, it was one of the openings I listened to the most at the time and both that and its ending, were in line with the story, they are still one of my favorites.

Sirius the Jaeger had a lot of potential to stand out among all the stories that anime have given us, but they didn't know how to take advantage of it, they put as many things, as the saying goes “less is more”, if they had focused on certain things that stood out and developed it with a good rhythm, really this anime would have had its 10/10, because the action scenes are very good, but it declined so much, they resorted to many clichés. However, this is just my point of view and if you would like to give it a chance to watch it, just to be entertained for a while and if you manage to understand that ending, to explain it to me.

Hoy vengo hablarles de un anime que recordé hace poco y quería dejas mis impresiones del mismo; es ese estilo de historia que te gustan, pero no te terminan de convencer, porque le dieron como que mucha vuelta al asunto, aunado la falta de profundidad, es decir, tenia un potencial que no lo supieron aprovechar. A pesar de ello, tiene su toque bueno, así lo considero yo.

En cuanto a la trama…

La historia transcurre en un Tokio del año 1930, donde el joven Yuily junto al grupo en el que forma parte los “Jaegers”, persiguen a un grupo de vampiros que abandonaron China y huyeron a Japón; todo bajo una misión secreta, escondiendo sus armas bajo las formas de instrumentos. Yuily pareciera ser un chico normal, pero en realidad es un hombre lobo, quien esta marcado por un pasado trágico, donde los vampiros acabaron con toda la aldea Dogville y a su familia.

Por esta razón, se une a este grupo de cazavampiros para evitar que estos seres malignos gobiernen al mundo, además de que, la destrucción de clan de Sirius se debe a la búsqueda de un objeto ancestral, que los ayudaría a obtener el máximo conocimiento tecnológico del mundo. Sin embargo, se encontrará varias sorpresas armagas en su camino, que lo hará flaquear ¿serán capaces de detener a estos crueles seres de que consigan su objetivo? ¿Cuál es el destino que le deparará al joven Yuily?

Opinión personal

En lo personal, me atraen muchos las historias en relación a los vampiros y a los hombres lobos, siendo la razón principal por el que me anime de verla, además de una animación que me atraía. La historia, al inicio, la sentía bien planteada, seguía un ritmo adecuado, empezando a centrarnos en algo en particular, pero, como a mitad de camino, creo que más bien antes, empezó a perder sentido y no profundizaba en los hechos, ejemplo de ello es que no logra comprenderse en el origen de los jaegers, muchas cosas a la vez metida que terminaban por afectar el ritmo y de desarrollo de la trama, además de la poca solidez en sus personajes.

Aun así, por la estética que cargaba, se me hacia muy bien, incluso los planos de batalla están decentes, pero más allá de esa animación que presentaba, no es una historia que permita tener un grupo de fans estable y que sea recordado por un largo tiempo, en pocas palabras, falto pulirlo; quizás si hubiese tenido una segunda temporada donde compensaran esos fallos, seria una serie bien hablada. En cuanto a la música, para mi me encantó, fue uno de los openings que más escuché en su momento y tanto ese como su ending, estuvieron acorde a la historia, siguen siendo uno de mis favoritos.

Sirius the Jaeger tenia mucho potencial para destacar entre todas las historias que nos han brindado los animes, pero que no supieron aprovecharla, metieron como muchas cosas, como dice el dicho “menos es más”, si se hubiesen enfocado en ciertas cosas que destacaban y la desarrollaban con un buen ritmo, de verdad que este anime hubiese tenido su 10/10, porque las escenas de acción son muy buenas, pero decayó tanto, que recurrieron a muchos clichés. Sin embargo, esto es solo mi punto de vista y si quisieran que le dieran la oportunidad de verla, así se para entretenerse un rato y si logran entender ese final, para que me lo expliquen.

Hi, otaku friends, a few days ago I was looking for a new series to watch on Netflix and I found that their anime catalogue has increased a lot, I added several series to my list and I chose one to start watching at that moment. The chosen one was Sirius the Jaeger, an action thriller that caught my attention because of its vampire theme and its short length (only 12 episodes). I must say that I had high expectations because I had read good reviews, however, in the end I was a bit disappointed.

The story follows a group of vampire hunters called "Jaegers", who are on a mission to stop a secret vampire organisation. The protagonist, Yuliy, is a young wolf/human, who are known as Sirius. Yuliy joins the Jaegers to avenge his family and tribe, who were killed by vampires. As the secrets behind the vampires and the Sirius unravel, the search begins for "The Sirius Ark" an artefact that gives the bearer great powers and the knowledge to create and destroy. The series is set in the 1930s Japan, combining action, mystery and supernatural elements with the reality of a country in turbulent times.

Honestly, as I said, I thought it was going to be a great series, it has a very appealing premise for me, however, its development is awful and predictable. There is absolutely no depth to the characters, not even the main character, who simply does what is expected of him and nothing more, just like the villains on duty. In general the development of the characters is quite poor, there is no depth in almost any of them, so it was impossible for me to empathize with any of them, moreover, I could not even mention a character that stands out above another, all of them are flat, predictable and just say words without contributing anything extra.

Within the story there are several "revelations", which I'm sure were meant to surprise the audience, but it was the opposite, they were simply too predictable and expected for my taste. They felt like silly attempts to twist the story, characters who seem suspicious from the start and then are revealed at the end to actually have a big hidden secret? I can't imagine how that could be a surprise to anyone.

Another point that disappointed me a lot was the action, there are several confrontations between the Jaeger and the vampires, but each and every one of them fell short in terms of action, I don't expect a fight to last five episodes, like in the average shōnen, but I do expect them to be exciting and very eye-catching, after all, they are vampires and wolves. But what I found were short fights, which are resolved from one moment to the next, come on, even the fight against the final villain was really disappointing and, again, predictable.

Perhaps what made this anime stand out the most, from my point of view, was its animation, which I thought was very good during some moments. What I liked the most in this aspect was the design of the main character, his appearance is simply beautiful, although I would have liked to see him with more lupine features. In general, I liked the appearance of the characters, except for some vampires, which were too extravagant for the concept of the anime, I felt them completely out of place with respect to the general setting of the series.

It's an overly easy anime to watch, because there's nothing transcendental in it, it doesn't have a very deep and impacting story. It's just a good time pass and nothing more. Everything is resolved in 12 episodes in which I didn't manage to connect with any of the characters, I didn't feel like watching it again and if there was a second season, I definitely wouldn't watch it. I'm not saying it's bad, it's just mediocre and wastes a plot that could have resulted in a much better series.

Hola, amigos otakus, hace unos días estaba buscando una serie nueva para ver en Netflix y me topé con que su catálogo de anime ha aumentado bastante, agregué varias series a mi lista y escogí una para comenzar a ver en ese momento. La elegida fue Sirius the Jaeger, un “thriller” de acción que llamó mi atención por tu temática vampiresca y su corta duración (solamente 12 episodios). Debo decir que llevaba muchas expectativas porque había leído buenas críticas, sin embargo, al final terminé algo decepcionada.

La historia sigue a un grupo de cazadores de vampiros llamados "Jaegers”, que están en una misión para detener a una organización secreta de vampiros. El protagonista, Yuliy, es un joven lobo/humano, los cuales son conocidos como Sirius. Yuliy se une a los Jaegers para vengar a su familia y a su tribu, quienes fueron asesinados por vampiros. A medida que se desentrañan los secretos detrás de los vampiros y los Sirius, comienza la búsqueda “El arca de Sirius” un artefacto que le brinda al portador grandes poderes y el conocimiento para crear y destruir. La serie se encuentra ambientada en el Japón de 1930, combina acción, misterio y elementos sobrenaturales, con la realidad de un país que vive una época turbulenta.

Honestamente, como les comenté, pensaba que iba a ser una gran serie, tiene una premisa bastante atractiva para mí, sin embargo, su desarrollo es realmente malo y predecible. No existe absolutamente ninguna profundidad en los personajes, ni siquiera en el protagonista, el cual simplemente hace lo que se espera de él y nada más, al igual que los villanos de turno. En general el desarrollo de los personajes es bastante deficiente, no existe profundidad en prácticamente ninguno, por lo que me fue imposible empatizar con alguno, es más, ni siquiera podría mencionar un personaje que destaque por encima de otro, todos son planos, predecibles y se dedican solo a decir palabras sin aportar nada extra.

Dentro de la historia hay varias "revelaciones", las cuales estoy segura de que fueron pensadas para sorprender a la audiencia, pero fue todo lo contrario, simplemente fueron demasiado predecibles y esperables para mi gusto. Los sentí como unos intentos tontos de darle un giro a la historia. ¿Personajes que parecen sospechosos desde el principio y que al final se revela que efectivamente tienen un gran secreto escondido? No me imagino como eso puede ser una sorpresa para alguien.

Otro punto que me decepcionó bastante fue la acción, hay varios enfrentamientos entre los Jaeger y los vampiros, pero todos y cada uno de ellos se quedó corto en cuestión de acción, yo no espero que una pelea dure cinco episodios, como en el shonen promedio, pero sí que sean emocionantes y muy vistosas, después de todo, son vampiros y lobos. Pero lo que me encontré fueron peleas cortas, que se resuelven de un momento a otro, vamos, hasta la pelea contra el villano final fue realmente decepcionante y, nuevamente, predecible.

Quizás en lo que más destacó este anime, desde mi punto de vista, fue en su animación, esa sí me pareció muy buena durante algunos momentos. Lo que más me gustó en este aspecto fue el diseño del protagonista, su apariencia es sencillamente hermosa, aunque me hubiera gustado verlo con características un poco más lupinas. En general me gustó la apariencia de los personajes, excepto la de algunos vampiros, los cuales fueron demasiado extravagantes para el concepto del anime, los sentí completamente fuera de lugar con respecto a la ambientación general de la serie.

Es un anime exageradamente fácil de ver, porque no hay nada trascendental en él, no tiene una historia muy profunda e impactante. Sirve para pasar el rato y nada más. Todo se resuelve en 12 episodios en los que no logré conectar con absolutamente ningún personaje, no me quedaron ganas de volver a verla y si hubiera una segunda temporada, definitivamente no la vería. No digo que sea mala, simplemente es algo mediocre y desperdicia un argumento que pudo haber resultado en una serie mucho mejor.

Esta anime se desarrolla cronológicamente en el año 1930 y su trama se centra en la labor de un grupo de cazadores, llamados Jaeger, quienes usan como cubierta una compañía de nombre Envíos V, estos cazadores van de un lado a otro persiguiendo vampiros, pero una de las particularidades de este grupo es que uno de sus miembros es un joven hombre lobo de nombre Yuliy, quien como ultimo sobreviviente de su tribu y de la familia Real de los Sirius, este joven desea acabar con los vampiros para vengar a su familia y en medio de todo tiene una pregunta, si de verdad existe aquella reliquia ancestral que le fue encomendada a su pueblo y familia conocida como “El arca de Sirius”, la cual su padre se llevó hace años para resguardarla.

Ahora bien, Yuily desde su infancia y tras perder a su familia fue criado por un hombre de nombre Willard, quien es el comandante de su unidad y quien este joven ve como un padre, de vez en cuando este joven hombre lobo pierde el control y arma lo que podríamos llamar alborotos cayendo hasta en la insubordinación.

Por otra parte, la nación vampira, o parte de ella encabezada por Yevgraf, está en busca del El arca de Sirius, ya que padecen un enfermedad que amenaza con exterminarlos y Yevgraf está dispuesto todo con tal de lograr salvar a su especie y el cree que la respuesta esta enfermedad se encuentra en el Arca de Sirius, así Yuily tiene un encuentro junto a su equipo que está conformado por Willard, quien es un arqueólogo retirado, Dorothea, Philip y Fallon, que cambia lo que parecía ser una misión normal.

De la misma manera, todo se complica cuando en medio de esta misión, aparece el hermano mayor de Yuily, llamado Mikhail, quien se suponía estaba muerto, pero los vampiros lo habían convertido en uno de los suyos, con el propósito de utilizarlo para la búsqueda del Arca y se ve obligado a atacar a su hermano menor en repetidas oportunidades.

Ahora bien, en cuanto a la calidad de la animación de este anime es excelente, los dibujos son muy nítidos y detallados su estreno de llevo a cabo en 2018, es importante señalar que no está basado en ningún manga y muchos estamos a la espera de una segunda temporada, aunque el final de esta primera temporada podríamos decir es bastante cerrado, pero deja espacio para la creación de una segunda, ya que todavía hay mucho por explotar, la trama gira, como ya mencioné en torno a esta guerra entre los vampiros y la humanidad, en la que los jaegers, quienes son humanos que conocen de la existencia de vampiros y se encargan de cazarlos y muchas de las potencias también desean tener acceso al Arca de Sirus para utilizarla a su favor.

Este anime va narrando poco a poco parte del pasado de los personajes y eso nos permite comprender como se unieron, sus motivos y la razón de algunos de sus comportamientos, además de recalcar al igual que en otras series o películas que entre los vampiros existen clases y diferencias entre los mismos de hecho los aristócratas o de sangre real pueden volar, andar bajo la luz del sol y no se les ve transformarse en criaturas algo desagradables como a los de bajo rango que son tratados por los otros como sirvientes o esclavos.

En resumen, si te gustan las historias de vampiros, llenas de acción y de buenas batallas, este anime es para ti, estoy segura de que quedaras satisfecho y al mismo tiempo con ganas de más, pues como señale hay mucho dentro de esta trama que podría desarrollarse y explotarse en una segunda y hasta mas temporadas, me despido deseando que estas líneas les anime a compartir conmigo sus comentarios, muchas gracias por pasar a visitarme.

Premise

In 1930, a group of Vampires leave China and flee to Japan. They are followed by a group of vampire hunters called "Jaegers" under the cover of being staff of the "V Shipping Company". Among them is a young "Sirius" man called Yuliy, a werewolf whose home village was destroyed by "Vampires". In the past, a member of the Sirius royal family was chosen by an oracle to be the agent of God and permitted to possess a mysterious holy relic known as "The Ark of Sirius" which, as a gift from God, could exert power over all things.

Un extraño grupo de personas con estuches de instrumentos musicales aterrizó en la estación de Tokio. Se llaman los "Jaegers", que vinieron a cazar vampiros. Entre ellos, se encontraba un joven con sorprendente serenidad y aura inusual. Su nombre es Yuliy, un hombre lobo cuya aldea natal fue destruida por vampiros.
