   Hello my dear friends, today I want to share with you the summary and review of a wonderful movie I saw yesterday, I like it not only because it stars my favourite actor, Alan Rickman, but also because it gives us a lot of information about autism and how it's to have to live with a person who suffers from this condition.

   Hola mis queridos amigos, el día de hoy quiero compartir con ustedes el resumen y análisis de una maravillosa película que vi el día de ayer, me gusta no solo porque es protagonizada por mi actor favorito, Alan Rickman, sino porque nos da mucha información acerca del autismo y como es tener que vivir con una persona que padece esta condición.

   Directed by Marc Evans and starring Alan Rickman who some of you may know from his great character of Severus Snape in Harry Potter, and Sigourney Weaver who you may know from her great work in Gorillas in the Mist, Snow Cake is a 2006 film, which tells the story of Alex Hughes, a reserved Englishman who seems to have something in his soul that haunts him, he travels to Canada with the intention of visiting the mother of his son, and upon arriving in the country and starting the road trip, during a stop at a coffee shop he meets Vivianne Freeman, an extroverted and jocular young woman with whom he initially seems to have a personality clash.

   Dirigida por Marc Evans y protagonizada por Alan Rickman a quienes algunos tal vez conozcan por su grandioso personaje de Severus Snape en Harry Potter, y Sigourney Weaver a quien quizá conocen por su estupendo trabajo en Gorilas en la Niebla, Snow Cake es una película del 2006, que nos cuenta la historia de Alex Hughes, un inglés reservado que parece guardar algo en su alma que lo atormenta, él viaja a Canadá con la intención de visitar a la madre de su hijo, y al llegar al país y comenzar el viaje en carretera, durante una parada en una cafetería conoce a Vivianne Freeman, una joven extrovertida y jocosa con la que al principio parece tener un choque de personalidad.

   Vivianne tells Alex that her dream is to be a writer but he doesn't seem very interested in her. The girl tells him that she trusts him because he seems like a good person and that she needs him to take her to her destination. Alex naturally refuses because he can't stand the girl's excessive loquacity, being such a parsimonious and reserved man, but later seeing that she is making an auto stop on the road, he takes pity on her and asks her to get in the car but warns her that if she tires him out, she will have to get out, and also tells her that he just got out of prison for killing someone, although he later confesses that he told her so that she would be more careful as people who usually look like "good guys" are often the ones to watch out for.

   Vivianne le cuenta a Alex que su sueño es ser escritora pero él no parece muy interesado en ella. La muchacha le dice que confía en él porque parece buena persona y que ella necesita que él la lleve a su destino. Alex naturalmente se niega porque no soporta la excesiva locuacidad de la chica, siendo él un hombre tan parco y reservado, pero posteriormente al ver que ella está haciendo auto stop en la carretera, se apiada de ella y le pide que suba al auto pero le advierte que si lo harta, ella tendrá que bajarse, y además le dice que acaba de salir de la cárcel por matar a alguien, aunque luego le confiesa que se lo dijo para que ella tenga más cuidado ya que las personas que suelen lucir como "buenos" son a menudo de las que hay que cuidarse.

   After a few hours on the road, the pair already seem to have struck up something of a friendship and in fact Alex relents a little in his hermeticism and even tells Vivianne that he has a gay brother who works at the stock exchange, and even allows himself to laugh a little, she begins to like him. During a stop Vivianne buys some things for her mother, which basically consist of various glowing balls, i.e. flashy toys, something that puzzles Alex a little but he doesn't think much of it. However, all the peace and harmony between them is suddenly shattered when a truck comes out of nowhere and crashes into the car they were both travelling in. Alex was only slightly injured but Vivianne lost her life immediately.

   Luego de las horas de viaje, la pareja ya parece haber trabado algo parecido a la amistad y de hecho Alex cede un poco en su hermetismo y hasta le cuenta a Vivianne que tiene un hermano gay que trabajando en la bolsa de valores, e incluso se permite reír un poco, ella comienza a caerle bien. Durante una parada Vivianne compra algunas cosas para su madre, que básicamente consiste en varias bolas luminosas, es decir, son juguetes llamativos, algo que desconcierta un poco a Alex pero no le toma mucha importancia. No obstante toda la paz y armonía que había entre ambos, de pronto se quiebra cuando un camión aparece de la nada y choca el auto donde ambos viajaban. Alex solo tuvo heridas leves pero Vivianne lamentablemente perdió la vida inmediatamente.

   Feeling tormented and terribly guilty, Alex decides to go and take Vivianne's belongings to her mother, namely the luminous coloured balls that Vivianne bought, but upon meeting Linda (Vivianne's mother) Alex notices that she is somewhat peculiar, acting like a child, seeming totally insensitive to her daughter's death, and instead is very interested in the luminous coloured balls that she brought her.

   Sintiéndose atormentado y terriblemente culpable, Alex decide ir a llevarle las pertenencias de Vivianne a su madre, es decir, las bolas de colores luminosas que la muchacha compró, pero al conocer a Linda (la madre de Vivianne) Alex nota que ella es un tanto peculiar, actúa como una niña, parece totalmente insensible a la muerte de su hija, y en cambio se muestra muy interesada en las bolas de colores luminosas que él le llevó.

   Then together with Alex we begin to discover Linda and the aspects that characterise her mental condition, we also discover that she has OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) that is to say, an obsession with order and cleanliness, even so she allows Alex to enter her home and even asks him to stay until after Tuesday (the day of the funeral) to take out the rubbish because that was Vivianne's job. He agrees because he feels guilty, but from then on he begins to experience firsthand what it is like to live with a person who suffers from autism.

   Entonces junto con Alex comenzamos a descubrir a Linda y los aspectos que caracterizan su condición mental, descubrimos también que tiene TOC (Trastorno Obsesivo Compulsivo) es decir, una obsesión con el orden y la limpieza, aún así permite que Alex entre a su hogar e incluso le pide que que se quede hasta después del martes (el día del funeral) para que saque la basura porque ese era trabajo de Vivianne. Él accede porque se siente culpable pero a partir de allí comienza a experimentaren carne propia lo que es convivir con una persona que padece autismo.

   Linda enjoys playing with the snow and even likes to eat it and tells Alex that when she tastes it she feels a kind of "orgasm" (as her own daughter explained to her what it felt like to have one of these) but what she meant was that she felt free and very happy, and Alex, without even meaning to, begins to take care of her and take over aspects of the house, including Vivianne's pet.

   Linda disfruta jugar con la nieve e incluso le gusta comerla y le dice a Alex que al probarla siente como una especie de "orgasmo" (según lo que su propia hija le explicó lo que se sentía tener uno de estos) pero lo que quiso decir era que se sentía libre y muy feliz, y Alex, sin proponérselo siquiera comienza a cuidar de ella y a hacerse cargo de los aspectos de la casa, incluso de la mascota de Vivianne.

   Among other people Alex meets Maggie, Linda's neighbour, a beautiful woman with whom he begins to have an affair of sorts, and even ends up trusting her so much that he eventually confesses to her that he was indeed in prison for killing the person who ran over her son, although it was manslaughter because he hit the man and he fell and hit his head.

   Gradually as Alex talks to Maggie and cares for Linda, he comes to know himself and even overcoming the trauma of his son's death and Vivianne's death, allowing him to see beyond his own grief to heal inside, so that when he leaves town he is ready to begin again.

   Poco a poco mientras Alex conversa con Maggie y cuida de Linda, termina conociéndose a sí mismo e incluso superando el trauma que le dejó la muerte de su hijo y la de Vivianne, le permitió ver más allá de su propio dolor para poder sanar por dentro, de modo que cuando abandona la ciudad está listo para comenzar de nuevo.

   I think it is a wonderful film that lets us see autism in its maximum expression, how a person who suffers from it feels, what is the point of view of the environment that surrounds them and what is the point of view of a person who lives with the person who has the condition and knows why he or she act in a certain way. Alex had a lot of patience, he dedicated himself to trying to understand Linda, and once he did and gained her trust, he managed to somehow enter her world and her heart that was normally indifferent to his condition, even before he left, Linda recognises what he has done for her, although she makes the caveat that he is not as much fun as Vivianne was.

   Pienso que es una película maravillosa que nos deja ver el autismo en su máxima expresión, como se siente una persona que lo padece, cuál es el punto de vista del entorno que los rodea y cuál es el punto de vista de una persona que convive con esa persona y sabe porqué actúa de determinada manera. Alex tuvo muchísima paciencia, se dedicó a tratar de entender a Linda, y una vez que lo hizo y se ganó su confianza, logró de cierta forma entrar en su mundo y en su corazón que normalmente era indiferente por su condición, incluso antes de que él se fuera, Linda reconoce lo que él ha hecho por ella, aunque hace la salvedad de que él no es tan divertido como lo era Vivianne.

   One of my favourite scenes is when Alex and Linda are playing Scrabble, a game about words in which Linda has her own rules, she makes up words and then gives examples of their use. He, a little tediously makes his attempt but is pleasantly surprised when it's her turn, Linda invents a word "Dazilious" and her explanation is that this is the sensation that one of the fantastic four (the one with elastic powers) must feel when escaping from the cave where he was held captive and contemplating the sun at its peak, realising his true fragility and smallness before the immensity of the world around him, then perhaps he would exclaim "Dazilious!". Alex takes that analogy as a sign of what she herself must be feeling, though he obviously doesn't say or show it to her.

   Una de mis escenas favoritas es cuando Alex y linda están jugando al Scrabble, un juego acerca de palabras en el que Linda tiene sus propias reglas, ella inventa palabras y luego da ejemplos de su uso.    I think Alex was the most human character Rickman played in his entire career, (at least of the films I've seen so far) and in his opinion, it's a character very close to his true personality. Alex is not a perfect man, nor does he pretend to be, but he is sensitive, something that many human beings lack. I think Alan Rickman's performance is great, he brings a lot of himself to his character and in the dramatic scenes he conveys all his emotions.

   Creo que Alex es el personaje más humano que interpretó Rickman en toda su carrera, (al menos de las películas que he visto hasta ahora) y en su opinión, es un personaje muy parecido a su verdadera personalidad. Alex no es un hombre perfecto ni pretende serlo, pero es sensible, algo de lo que carecen muchos seres humanos. Me parece que la actuación de Alan Rickman es genial, le imprime mucho de si mismo a su personaje y en las escenas dramáticas nos transmite todas sus emociones.

   But although Alan will always be my favourite actor, I think the one who deserves a standing ovation in this film is Sigourney Weaver playing Linda, because it is an extremely complex character that she knew how to handle very well, making her look very, very real, you can tell she did a lot of research about autism to be able to play Linda correctly, she demonstrates this in her facial and body expressions, as well as in the way she delivers her dialogue.

   Pero aunque Alan siempre será mi actor favorito, pienso que quien se merece una ovación de pie en esta película es Sigourney Weaver al interpretar a Linda, ya que es un personaje extremadamente complejo que ella supo muy bien como canalizar, haciendo que se viera muy pero muy real, se nota que ella hizo un gran trabajo de investigación acerca del autismo para poder interpretar a Linda correctamente, lo demuestra en sus expresiones faciales y corporales, además de la forma en que ella hace sus diálogos.

   It says Hans Do you remind me of a British accent (Hans)? A line from Alan Rickman, who played the villain in Die Hard 1 (1988). The most beautiful voice entered the world's top 10, this British/Canadian starring actor should start introducing the independent film "Snow Cake (2006)". This film is an excellent story about people who go unnoticed or people who don't like to be noticed, set in a Canadian rural town that is too cold and distant to be noticed. It's my kind of film in the truest sense.

   Alan Rickman, who has passed away, is a person I greatly respect. After marrying his first love, his high school sweetheart in his early 20s, he has only loved one person without cheating. His wife, Mrs. , says that she works hard not to go out at night no matter how busy she is. There's Rickman's memoir.

   A little introduction to the film: Alex, an Englishman who has been assaulted by the man who directly caused his son's death, falls back to death, and is released from several years in prison for murder, lives alone and in Canada before starting a new life. The story begins when you embark on a short journey by renting a rental car. It was lunch time and while he was drinking coffee in a deserted restaurant on National Road, a very bright young woman appeared in front of him. Her name is Vivienne.
