Estuve viendo algunas clásicas de nuevo, pero como vi muchas publicaciones de ellas por acá no quería saturar así que en otro momento será. Sin embargo, hoy les traigo la reseña de una de las nuevas que salió en esta tanda, esta vez de la plataforma de Prime Video: Algo de Tiffany.
Hello friends! I think I'm closing today with the Christmas movies. I've been watching some classics again, but as I saw many posts of them here I didn't want to saturate so another time. However, today I bring you the review of one of the new ones that came out in this batch, this time from the Prime Video platform: Something from Tiffany's.

¿De qué trata? - What is it about?
Está película tiene como protagonistas a Rachel Meyer (Zoey Deutch), una joven pastelera, y a Ethan Greene (Kendrick Sampson), un hombre de negocios que volvió a New York con su hija pequeña, Daisy (Leah Jeffries), para realizar su sueño de ser escritor. Un incidente días antes de Navidad hace que el novio de Rachel, Gary Wilson (Ray Nicholson), que planeaba regalarle algo de Tiffany a su novia tenga un accidente de auto y sea ayudado por Ethan y su hija. En el transcurso del intercambio se confunden de regalo y Rachel termina recibiendo equivocadamente un anillo de compromiso que le corresponde a la novia de Ethan. Cuando este último se da cuenta de que no hay un anillo en la caja que le regalo a Vanessa (Shay Mitchell) en la mañana de Navidad empieza la odisea para recuperarlo.
This film stars Rachel Meyer (Zoey Deutch), a young pastry chef, and Ethan Greene (Kendrick Sampson), a businessman who has returned to New York with his young daughter, Daisy (Leah Jeffries), to fulfill his dream of becoming a writer. An incident days before Christmas causes Rachel's boyfriend, Gary Wilson (Ray Nicholson), who was planning to give his girlfriend something from Tiffany's, to get into a car accident and is helped by Ethan and his daughter. In the course of the exchange, they get the gift mixed up and Rachel ends up mistakenly receiving an engagement ring that belongs to Ethan's girlfriend. When Ethan realizes that there is no ring in the box he gave Vanessa (Shay Mitchell) on Christmas morning, the odyssey to get it back begins.
Opinión - Opinion
Me di cuenta que hay películas navideñas, es decir, que su base es la Navidad misma, su festividad y los milagros que esta pueda traer; y hay películas que están ambientadas en la época navideña pero no cuentan con el espíritu. Esta película entra en esta última categoría. De ahí asumo que no logró impresionarme tanto como otras de este género que me fascinan. Si leyeron algunas de mis anteriores reseñas sabrán que siempre me gusta rescatar lo bueno de lo que veo, pero aun así la mayoría de lo que consumo me suele gustar. No me mal interpreten, me gustó esta película, pero a la vez la sentí un poco hueca y vacía. No era lo que esperaba.
I realized that there are Christmas movies, that is, movies that are based on Christmas itself, its festivity and the miracles it can bring; and there are movies that are set during the Christmas season but do not have the spirit. This film falls into the latter category. From there I assume it failed to impress me as much as others of this genre that fascinate me. If you've read some of my previous reviews you will know that I always like to rescue the good in what I see, but even so most of what I consume I tend to like. Don't get me wrong, I liked this movie, but at the same time I felt it was a bit hollow and empty. It was not what I expected.
Me interesaba verla porque me gusta mucho la actriz, Zoey Deutch, y quería ver una película navideña suya para saber cómo le iba a sentar. Creo que esta vez no sentí mucha química entre los actores, no lograron convencerme con su historia de amor. Además tampoco me compre lo rápido que sucedió todo, como pasas de una relación a la otra de la noche a la mañana, y sin una crisis en el medio, raro. Creo que no le encontré sentido a lo que sucedía, desde ya no culpo a los actores, sino a la trama. Como les decía, es un poco vacía y fría.
I was interested in watching it because I really like the actress, Zoey Deutch, and I wanted to see a Christmas movie of hers to see how she would do. I guess this time I didn't feel much chemistry between the actors, they didn't manage to convince me with their love story. I also didn't buy how fast everything happened, how you go from one relationship to the other overnight, and without a crisis in between, weird. I don't think I didn't make sense of what was going on, I don't blame the actors, but the plot. As I said, it's a bit empty and cold.
Sin embargo, rescato que hay algunos momentos emotivos muy buenos, como cuando la hija de Ethan recuerda a su madre y comparte un lindo momento en la cocina amasando pan con Rachel. También la encontré acertada en el comportamiento de los personajes, creo que no puedo estar de acuerdo con ellos, pero aceptó que en la vida real a veces suceden situaciones que nos exceden y terminamos aceptando cosas que en un principio no queríamos y no estamos convencidos pero también nos da cierto pánico dar marcha atrás así que seguimos. Eso pasa mucho con estos personajes.
However, I do find that there are some very good emotional moments, such as when Ethan's daughter remembers her mother and shares a nice moment in the kitchen kneading bread with Rachel. I also found it accurate in the behavior of the characters, I think I can't agree with them, but I accept that in real life sometimes situations happen that exceed us and we end up accepting things that at first we didn't want and we are not convinced but we also panic to back out so we continue. That happens a lot with these characters.
Pero en líneas generales no es una mala película para pasar el rato y desconectar el cerebro por un tiempo. Aunque no es de lo mejorcito que vi en este género. Para ello les recomendaría que vean otras producciones del estilo que son mucho mejores. Nada más quería traerles mi opinión sobre esta película que vi hace poco y los invito a verla si así lo desean para formarse su propia opinión. Gracias por llegar hasta acá y leer. ¡Hasta la próxima!
But overall it's not a bad movie to pass the time and disconnect the brain for a while. Although it is not one of the best I saw in this genre. For that I would recommend you to see other productions of the style that are much better.
