  1. Spy Kids Armageddon|| A Trip Down Memory Lane.@wongi1011d

The last time I watched "Spy Kids", I felt nothing short of ecstasy. I was way younger by then and after seeing the movie I felt like I should become a spy and save the world. For months, I felt this way and after some time, the feeling died a natural death.

Fast forward to twelve years later, I saw another spy kids movie and I was reminded of the past. I honestly didn't expect to see the movie. I didn't even know that another version had come out till I visited a friend. "Have you seen the latest spy kids?" Was the first question the friend asked. Of course I hadn't. With this information, I decided to actually download the movie and see it.

So, ladies and gentlemen, I present to you "Spy Kids: Armageddon" 2023. This is one movie that houses so many of my fun childhood memories. Although my memories are a bit blurry, I feel I can still remember a few scenes from the last version I saw and I can say for a fact that the previous plot differs from the plot I'm about to share today.

    About The Movie.

The children of the worlds best secret agents help a powerful game developer to gain access to a code and consequently unleash a powerful virus. The virus gives the developer control over the world. Just as the children gave the villain an opening, they had to become spies to save their parents and the world.

The movie feels like a combination of all the previous spy kids movies. The skeletons, the vehicles, and every other thing. I must say that it is a really interesting combination.

Released on the 22nd of September 2023(two days ago), Spy Kids: Armageddon is a spy action comedy film. Directed by Robert Rodriguez, the film is an intensive one hour and forty-eight minutes journey. For those who had time to see the previous versions years back, this movie comes with a nostalgic feeling. However, those who didn't see the previous versions wouldn't really get the lingering feeling.

    Cast

Gina Rodriguez as Nora Torrez png_20230924_161003_0000.png

Nora Torrez was one of the world's greatest spies. She got married to a fellow spy and was blessed with two amazing kids. She played the role of a living mother who was very attentive to her kids' needs.

    Zachery Levi as Terrence Torrez

Terrence Torrez was Nora's husband and a great spy too. Fortunately, he was also the father of Nora's kids. Terrence played the role of a father splendidly. However, he didn't carry his kids along and that may have been the cause of a little glitch along the line. But in the end, the truth always prevails

    Billy Magnussen as The King

Just like every hero needs a villain, every spy needs a mole. The good thing however was the fact that this particular mole had good intentions. The king played the role of a very powerful game developer who wanted to make a statement. He wanted to change the world at all cost and to do this, he needed to infiltrate the armageddon.

    Connor Esterson as Tony Torrez

    png_20230924_161700_0000.png

Tony played the role of Terrence and Nora's son. He usually demonstrated signs of recalcitrance; doing things he wasn't supposed to do and being at places he wasn't supposed to be. He loved playing video games and always won by hook or by crook.

    Every Carganilla as Patty Torrez

    png_20230924_161443_0000.png

Patty was Terrence and Nora's daughter. An embodiment of a golden child who always played by the rules. She took prejudice in doing the right thing and this saved her from very many 'situations'. She saw the beauty and goodness in every single thing–even the meanest people.

    My Opinion

This was an amazing journey down memory lane. It was nice to see a spy kids movie after a long while but somehow I felt like I had outgrown the movie. The sound tracks, the action, the stunts, everything was at an okay level. It was really impressive to know that Robert Rodriguez was still producing spy kids movies.

One very interesting part that stood out for me was at the end when Patty Melvin said that she caught the criminal and so she wanted to be the one determining what his punishment would be. That was a really badass scene judging from the fact that Patty was just a little kid and Melvin was like the leader of the spies association. This scene made me admire Patty's bravery.

    Recommendation

I would like to recommend this movie to everyone. It isn't a cartoon but it has kids playing major roles. If you like spy movies and you want to learn a thing or two about honesty, then this is the movie for you.
