   Hey! ¿Cómo están mis amantes del cine? Como estamos en época navideña me provoca solo ver películas divertidas, que me hagan reír y pasar un momento agradable, así que navegando un poco en internet encontré una curiosa película japonesa que captó mi atención: Swing girls. El cine japonés no es para todos, pero ya estoy acostumbrada a su estilo de rodaje tranquilo y nostálgico, de hecho he encontrado varias joyas cinematográficas, según mi perspectiva claro está, que me han alentado a seguir disfrutando de sus historias.

   Hey, how are you my movie lovers? Since it's Christmas time, I only want to watch funny movies that make me laugh and have a good time, so while surfing the internet I found a curious Japanese movie that caught my attention: Swing girls. Japanese cinema is not for everyone, but I am already used to their quiet and nostalgic shooting style, in fact I have found several cinematic gems, according to my perspective of course, that have encouraged me to continue enjoying their stories.

   Un grupo de chicas que cursan la secundaria asumen la responsabilidad de apoyar a la banda de su escuela, llevando por sus propios medios los almuerzos que les asignaron a la misma, sin saber que sus compañeros resultarían intoxicados después de ingerir esos alimentos. Como consecuencia de este suceso, estas chicas experimentan un gran cambio en sus vidas, que les hará replantear sus metas y objetivos a largo plazo.

   A group of high school girls take on the responsibility of supporting their school's band, carrying the lunches assigned to them by their own means, without knowing that their classmates would be intoxicated after eating those foods. As a consequence of this event, these girls experience a major change in their lives, which will make them rethink their long-term goals and objectives.

   A pesar de ser una película simple y sin una trama muy profunda, mis hermanas y yo pasamos toda la historia con una sonrisa en la cara, porque tiene muchos momentos emocionantes, divertidos y tiernos, que hacen que te mantengas enganchado todo el rato. El primer punto a su favor es que cuenta con la nostalgia de la época estudiantil, te muestra esa complicidad, compañerismo, inocencia, y ocurrencias propias de la edad de un estudiante de secundaria, para mí fué como revivir mi experiencia, pero sin la emoción de descubrir algo que me apasione. Lo que nos lleva al segundo punto: Encontrar algo que te guste.

   Despite being a simple movie without a very deep plot, my sisters and I went through the whole story with a smile on our faces, because it has many exciting, funny and tender moments that keep you hooked the whole time. The first point in its favor is that it has the nostalgia of the student days, it shows you that complicity, companionship, innocence, and occurrences typical of the age of a high school student, for me it was like reliving my experience, but without the excitement of discovering something that I am passionate about. Which brings us to the second point: Find something you like.

   Todo el incidente les permitió encontrar una pasión, pero más importante todavía, dedicarse a algo para lo que tenían talento. Veremos su proceso para aprender a tocar instrumentos clásicos desde cero, una aventura que las llevó a ingeniar mil estrategias para conseguir su nuevo objetivo, el formar una banda de Jazz. Me encantó que a pesar de ser ignorantes en ese aspecto, eso no las detuvo en ningún momento ni las hizo sentir menos ante los demás que no esperaban nada bueno de ellas. Se apoyaron en lo que tenían, las ganas, un compañero que si era bueno tocando el piano y un profesor que amaba la música de Jazz y estuvo dispuesto a ayudarlo a encontrar su ritmo.

   The whole incident allowed them to find a passion, but more importantly, to dedicate themselves to something for which they had a talent. We will see their process to learn to play classical instruments from scratch, an adventure that led them to devise a thousand strategies to achieve their new goal, to form a jazz band. I loved that even though they were ignorant in that aspect, that didn't stop them at any time or make them feel less in front of others who didn't expect anything good from them. They relied on what they had, the desire, a partner who was good at playing the piano and a teacher who loved Jazz music and was willing to help them find their rhythm.

   Personalmente esta historia me hizo sentir conmovida y algo decepcionada de mi época en el bachillerato, que aunque no pasé malas experiencias, nunca tuve la oportunidad de encontrar un pasatiempo que me encantara y al cual ponerle toda mi energía. También me hizo pensar en lo bonito que es coincidir con personas que te impulsen a lograr un objetivo en común, y más en esa etapa donde la inmadurez y la inocencia reina. La música también es un aspecto positivo en este film, nos la pasamos sacudiéndonos de un lado a otro, gracias a la interpretación de diferentes temas de la música Jazz. Fué una experiencia musical muy bonita y bastante divertida, hay escenas en las que me reí a carcajadas.

   Personally, this story made me feel moved and somewhat disappointed of my time in high school, that although I did not have bad experiences, I never had the opportunity to find a hobby that I loved and to which I could put all my energy. It also made me think about how nice it is to coincide with people who push you to achieve a common goal, especially at that stage where immaturity and innocence reigns. The music is also a positive aspect in this film, we spent it shaking from one side to another, thanks to the interpretation of different themes of Jazz music. It was a very nice musical experience and quite funny, there are scenes where I laughed out loud.

   Pero lo que más me conmovió de la película fué el profesor que los ayudó. Un poco de spoiler para que me entiendan mejor, y es que él amaba el jazz y hasta intentó aprender a tocar el saxofón, pero por alguna razón nunca logró aprender, sin embargo estuvo dispuesto a ayudarlos en su proceso y fué una pieza importante en el logro de sus objetivos. Amé ese personaje. Les puedo decir que es una película que no tiene desperdicio y les dejará una sensación muy bonita. Así que, si quieren darle una oportunidad se las recomiendo con los ojos cerrados 😅

   But what touched me the most in the movie was the teacher who helped them. A little spoiler for you to understand me better, he loved jazz and even tried to learn to play the saxophone, but for some reason he never managed to learn, however he was willing to help them in their process and was an important piece in achieving their goals. I loved that character. I can tell you that it is a movie that has no waste and will leave you with a very nice feeling. So, if you want to give it a chance, I recommend it with your eyes closed 😅
