Today I'm here to recommend (if you haven't seen it) or remind you of one of the best Disney animated films. It came in second place on my top 5 favorites from this industry. Besides having a splendid soundtrack in many ways, with great meaning, it's a story that tells us that belonging goes far beyond the superficial. Being part of something doesn't mean being alike, but rather that everyone accepts each other without losing their essence. So, without further ado, here are my impressions.
Released in 1999, it was directed by Kevin Lima and Chris Buck. The music was composed by Mark Mancina, who wrote the instrumental background music (the music that plays during chases, sad moments, or tense scenes where no one sings), and Phil Collins, who wrote the lyrics and music for the five main songs. It's worth noting that the songs weren't only in English, but also in Spanish, German, French, and Italian (a real pro, I have to add). This film is an adventure film for children, and the voice cast included Tony Goldwyn, Minnie Driver, Glenn Close, Lance Henriksen, and others.
The story begins when a family—a couple and their baby—are shipwrecked in a jungle and start a new life there. Meanwhile, a gorilla family loses their infant to a tiger, which then attacks the couple. Kala, the gorilla who has just lost her own baby, hears the human infant crying and rescues him. Despite strong opposition from Kerchak, the leader of the troop, Kala decides to raise him as her own and names him Tarzan.
Despite growing up under the stern and distrustful gaze of the troop leader, Kerchak, Tarzan strives for acceptance, developing extraordinary physical abilities to survive in an environment where he is biologically the weakest. His life takes a radical turn when an expedition of English explorers arrives in the jungle. Interacting with the inquisitive Jane Porter and her father, Tarzan discovers his own humanity for the first time and begins to learn about human language, technology, and emotions. The conflict arises when Tarzan finds himself at a moral crossroads: he must choose between loyalty to the gorilla family that raised him and the desire to belong to the world of beings like himself. What decision will Tarzan make? What were those people doing in the jungle?
Just like with Brother Bear, Disney really used to bring stories that made a mark and addressed inclusion and acceptance in such an incredible and different way than what we see now. They resonated with you, and above all, the music was the perfect complement at every moment, because it's the most important element and gives the story a lot of weight—at least, that's how I feel. In short, Phil Collins does a fantastic job in this film, and he makes that very clear with the main songs, "Son of Man" and "You'll Be in My Heart"—wow, beautiful and incredibly memorable. They also narrate the events of the scene; there's no one singing anymore, as was often the case with Disney princess movies. Here, the music makes the story not a musical, but a lived experience; it becomes the guide of the emotion.
Regarding the animation, I must say it's quite appealing. Despite the era, the way the main character swung through the branches felt remarkably fluid. I think they played very well with the framing and the high-speed movement. The film handles the identity conflict very well; it's not just about "man vs. nature," but about "belonging." The relationship between Tarzan and Kerchak is the emotional core: a son's desire to be accepted by a father who is different from him. And Kala, oh my god, she's the best character. She's the perfect example that love knows no differences. In a world that seeks to categorize distinctions, she represents that we should focus more on our similarities, that true emotional connection is what ultimately brings us closer and closer.
I like that they balance the moments of tension with those of humor very well, because being a film for a children's audience, they had to handle those tones of death and tension quite subtly, and I feel they succeeded. What do you think?
I understand this film was a visual revolution, as the use of Deep Canvas allowed for a sense of depth and 3D camera movement that still looks incredible today.
A story with a profound message, where identity goes far beyond appearance; it's about accepting ourselves and others and focusing on what truly makes us equal.
Immortal Soundtrack: Phil Collins not only wrote hits, but also created an emotional atmosphere that connects with the viewer viscerally. Furthermore, the fact that he recorded it in several languages gave it enormous cultural value.
Character Design and Anatomy: Tarzan's animation is one of Disney's most complex. The study of muscles, weight, and animal movement translated to a human is evident.
Jane Porter, the human female character, who couldn't be overlooked: She is one of the most charismatic female protagonists of that era. She is intelligent, funny, and has a real and organic chemistry with Tarzan.
The Villain (Clayton): Compared to legendary Disney villains (like Scar, Jafar, or Ursula), Clayton is quite generic. He's the typical greedy hunter whose motivation is simply money, which makes him less memorable.
Pacing of Act Three: The transition from "Tarzan meets humans" to the final conflict with the hunters feels a bit rushed. Everything happens very quickly once they decide to go to the ship.
This is a must-see movie from my childhood. I loved it so much that I later watched the series. Of course, it wasn't quite as amazing as the movie itself, but I found the whole story and the chemistry with the characters so much fun. And of course, the songs are a timeless legacy; they're still playing even after 27 years. I would recommend it because it's the perfect balance between a technical masterpiece and a story with a lot of heart.

Hello movie lovers. Today I want to talk to you about one of my favorite animated films that Disney has released, among so many that it has in its extensive repertoire. This feature film moves away from all the fantasy, fairy and princess stories that between the 30s and 80s have brought out this huge franchise and goes deeper into a somewhat deep story and with a quality that surpasses its predecessors, earning different nominations, awards and accolades from around the world. Not to mention that it is one of those animated films that I watched since I was a child and that I still remember to this day with much longing. Produced by the Walt Disney Feature Animation studio, this film is based on the novel "Tarzan of the Apes" (1912) by Edward Rice Burroughs. The film also features a great voice cast including Tony Goldwyn, Minnie Driver, Glen Close, Rosie O'Donnell, Brian Blessed and many more.
The film was a huge success at the box office, becoming one of the highest grossing animated films in DisneyAnimation's vast repertoire, with mostly positive reviews and praise for the incredible animation and soundtrack, which features the collaboration of the great musician, singer and composer, Phill Colins, along with Mark Mancina. This is one of those few Disney animated films that I highly recommend watching, which shows how great and nostalgic that era was, cinematically speaking. If you have not yet seen this beautiful movie for some reason or another, then I invite you to stay until the end of this post (the invitation is understood even for those who have seen it).

The film begins with a British family who end up shipwrecked on an unexplored island in Africa, after the boat they were on sinks in a fire. With the remains of the ship they managed to get, the couple made a house in a huge tree where they plan to take refuge from this unknown and dangerous place. On the other hand, a group of gorillas led by the great Kerchak cross the forest near where the house is located and his gorilla wife, Kala, hears the cry of a baby coming from the tree. Both are only just mourning the recent death of their gorilla son, who was attacked by a ferocious leopard. Delighted, Kala goes in search of the baby and climbs the tree house, where she finds the British couple killed by the same feline beast, while the baby is still alive, hidden in the rubble.
Kala the gorilla takes the baby, after freeing herself from the leopard that was near the tree, and decides to raise and care for it as if it were her own child. However, years later, our now baby boy named Tarzan realizes that he is different from his mother and the rest of the gorilla group in which he has been growing up. Not realizing that he is a human, he receives rejection from the other animals and fellow gorillas, including the great gorilla leader Kerchak, except Kala his mother, who assures him that they are the same, on the inside. With these words, he decides to become the best gorilla of all, adapting and learning from the other animals until he becomes a great ape man. Now grown up, Tarzan manages to defeat the same leopard that killed his parents, while protecting his herd and his gorilla mother. But, from afar, he hears a loud sound, as if it were a gunshot, which attracts Tarzan's attention and he goes to the place where it came from and finds several humans, just like him.

Trama
Trailer & Review
Below, I will leave you the trailer of the movie:
From Disney's best era we can find this film, which gave a closure to an entire era and the beginning of another era, an era in which animated films had one of the most incredible revolutions that have been seen in the world of cinema. This animated masterpiece with a mixture of traditional animation with computer animation has achieved what many animated studios were looking for at that time, with a soundtrack so wonderful that it has managed to mark a whole generation, just like this film did. Its story is something that not only serves to entertain a child, but also to leave a very excellent lesson to an adult, dealing with themes that go from good and evil, as well as what a family is, with very strong feelings such as love, hate and revenge. This film mixes genres such as comedy, adventure, action and drama, making it a film for all audiences, for the whole family.

Let's talk about Tarzan, who from the beginning to the end of this movie we can learn about his beginnings and his story as the man who grew up as a monkey, a story that for everyone can be very heartfelt and with very valuable lessons. The development and evolution of this main character is fascinating to say the least, learning from everything around him, adapting and growing both physically and mentally. His curiosity and courage make him face the unknown, achieving things he has never seen before, a world beyond the one he was raised and grew up in. With an existential doubt of who or what he really is, Tarzan shows us a way to face the problems and changes one has in life. In this case, it is love that drives him to go further, getting to know more and more of that world to later adapt and become part of it. But what he knows and has learned since he was a child generates an internal war that makes him doubt whether to remain a monkey or become a human.
The other characters also have their own, we can say, being the adoptive mother, Kala the gorilla, who shows us a clear example of how a mother raises her son and teaches him principles and values that will serve him throughout his life. These teachings were what guided our protagonist to make the wisest decisions, despite the danger of joining both worlds. Kerchak, on the other hand, demonstrates that role of leader and father of which we can possibly identify and recognize easily. Jane is another character that we can highlight as the main source of our protagonist's interest and curiosity to know that world beyond where they are, with a feeling that grows as he learns and spends more time with her. Clayton is the antagonist of the film, who does an excellent job as a villain, standing out only for befriending the protagonist to then betray him at the end (I do not think this is a Spoiler for anyone at this date with how popular this movie is for the one reading this not to have seen it before).
A film that has fascinated everyone either for its incredible animation, which generated the praise and award from all over the world for the Disney animation studio, who managed to replicate that style of animation in subsequent projects that I will be bringing and talking about in the following reviews. But what is most fascinating is not only its animation, nor is it the story which has everything that is needed for anyone to watch and enjoy this incredible movie, but also the soundtrack it has, which with the help of Phill Colins has marked in the heart of everyone who has seen it, with songs that to this day we can hum and remember with great nostalgia and happiness, with deep lyrics and rhythms that are impossible to forget. This visual and auditory combination makes this film an unparalleled audiovisual experience. One of the best adaptations of the original novel that has been brought to the big screen and has touched more people and generations than any other. Undoubtedly this is one of those few jewels that Disney has to offer today.
Personally, I give it an excellent rating of 9.5/10 for the adventure, action, drama and comedy genre.

›Tarzan and Basuli Roaring at Kagome@antonireviews2092d
This scared Kagome meme was inspired by menslady125. Furthermore, this Halloween weekend is dedicated to defecating all over my least favorite anime heroine of all time, Kagome "the whiny, bratty, stupid manipulator" Higurashi.
It takes a lot of guts, stamina, and spunk to take on two powerful jungle warrior brothers such as Basuli and Tarzan and attempt to either emerge as the victor or solely enjoy doing battle with them. Unfortunately for Kagome, she barely has any fighting skills to take these two brothers down, let alone commence any battle with them. Her only resolve would be to run away from their powerful roars.
Their encounter with this bitch in sheep's clothing was mainly through word of mouth, i.e. a bare-handed sparring match between them and Sesshoumaru, Inuyasha, and Ayame. Basuli and Tarzan were thoroughly amazed at how fierce, strong, and formidable their friends/sparring partners were, especially in terms of Sesshoumaru's killer jabs, Inuyasha's mighty choke holds, and Ayame's fierce kicks. Sesshoumaru, Inuyasha, and Ayame also complimented on Basuli's and Tarzan's unparalleled combat prowess, magnificent muscles, and unwavering endurance. This got to the point where Sesshoumaru, Inuyasha, and Ayame had a heart-to-heart talk with Basuli and Tarzan about Kagome. All was revealed at how Kagome treated Inuyasha as if he were nothing more than her pet dog and was unfairly "sat" by her. The thought of Inuyasha being dragged on like that made Basuli's and Tarzan's stomachs churn.
Along came Kagome with the accursed Beads of Subjugation to place back on Inuyasha just to use him to "protect" her. Not buying into Kagome's manipulation, Basuli and Tarzan finally let their wild sides emerge by letting out a huge roar which rivaled any lion, tiger and/or leopard. To make it even more frightening for Kagome, the two jungle warrior brothers stripped themselves naked to let the beasts within them be on show. They got on all four "hinds" like lions and said they were going to devour Kagome. With their sights set on Kagome's blood, Basuli's and Tarzan's roars got a lot louder and bellowed at her to leave now and never come back with those abominations. Kagome screamed and ran away like the coward she was.
Basuli and Tarzan let out their triumphant trademark jungle man yell so powerful that all the jungle animals remained utterly stunned. Sesshoumaru, Inuyasha, and Ayame approached Basuli and Tarzan, who were still in their feral mode, and growled at them. Nevertheless, Sesshoumaru calmed them down and both the jungle warrior brothers recovered stating that Kagome has been taken care of. At least, they will not have to endure Kagome's crap ever again.
Remember this, dear readers. It is best recommended to never get on Basuli's and Tarzan's feral sides, otherwise, you will end up as their main course in the form of the hunt they have been gathering.
I hope you all enjoyed Basuli and Tarzan scaring away Kagome with their powerful roars and let us just hope that this lame-o does not do the stupid thing of ending up in their bad sides ever again.
Tarzan and Basuli from The Legend of Tarzan belong to Edgar Rice Burroughs and Disney.
Kagome "the whiny, bratty, stupid manipulator" Higurashi from Inuyasha belongs to Rumiko Takahashi and Sunrise.
›Tarzan 1999@junior1822415d
Hello here again your friend @ junior182
Take care of my niece today, we saw an animated movie that was happening on Tarzan TV. He liked many, for his colors and songs.
Deep in the forest the parents of Tarzan settled in a cabin, one day while in the cabin a leopard arrives fiercely attacks Tarzan's father, in that a group of gorilla arrives and enters the cabin and they see the baby, one of the gorilla takes it, cares for the one who lost his son.
Tarzan grows together with the gorillas learning about their customs and way of walking, although Tarzan realizes that the different has never left his pack. One day she arrives in that forest or group of explorers among her was the beautiful Jane, she is the daughtou But Jane for being a curious woman enters the forest and he meets Tarzan. From there Jane Tarzan are seen in hiding, because Tarzan had to protect his family from the bad guys.
This is an animated film that tells the story of a boy who grew up with some gorillas, despite being different his mother the gorilla took as one of his children.
Tarzan knows what his pack has always done for him, which is why when Jane invites him to leave, he decides to stay because he could not leave his family.
Jane's great love for Tarzan, decides to stay, and her father being a lover of the gorillas' studies is enchanted, he tells the ship to say that it was that they went astray in the woods, so that they do not look for him.
