Some shows don’t even need hype to pull you back in; they just live rent-free in your mind, Yeah...."That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime" is exactly that for me , the type of anime I can stumble on randomly, click one episode just to check something, and before I know it, I’m ten episodes deep like I haven’t seen it three times already.

Now, I won’t lie, the beginning is a little slow, the first episode feels like the anime is politely introducing itself, shaking your hand, explaining the rules of the world, and giving you the starter pack of information, Rimuru dies, reincarnates as a slime, learns skills, meets the dragon Veldora, it is cute, but not like loud yet, even the second episode still feels like it is warming up the engines, but once you pass those first two episodes? The show just opens up and becomes something else, That is the point where it stops crawling and starts sprinting.

Rimuru as a main character is honestly one of the most refreshing things about the anime, He is overpowered but not arrogant,he is funny but not foolish, soft hearted but not weak, so he is the kind of character who gains power but still acts like someone who wants peace, comfort, and community same time , And that’s the heart of the story , building a home, building a place where monsters who were once feared can live freely, Building a family that isn’t tied by blood, but by loyalty and love.

So naybe that is why this anime feels rewatchable, so every time Rimuru gathers new allies, every time he protects someone, every time he adds one more piece to the monster nation he is building, the story gives this warm sense of growth, even the battles feel purposeful, not just flashy.

And the characters? Don’t even get me started, shuna, Shion, Benimaru, Milim, Gobta _ the MVP nobody expected, even the random side characters, they all have personality, they all feel like individuals you want to follow, it is like watching a community grow in real time, and you’re rooting for every single one of them.

Another thing I love is the humor. Tensura doesn’t take itself too seriously, One moment Rimuru is destroying a whole enemy force like it’s nothing, and the next moment he’s being bullied by Shion’s terrible cooking or dragged around by Milim’s chaotic energy, That blend of epic and goofy is just perfect.

The world building is another major charm. Politics, diplomacy, alliances, nations rising and falling , it sounds heavy, but Tensura makes it digestible, It’s like the anime knows when to entertain you, when to calm down, and when to throw hands.

So yeah, even though the opening episodes might seem slow, it’s worth pushing through because this anime rewards your patience, and once it grabs you, you’re done for, That’s why I can rewatch it anytime, it’s familiar, comforting, exciting, and honestly one of the most satisfying isekai stories out there.

If you ever need a show that feels like a warm hug but with magic and monsters, you know this is just the one.

Hello everyone, my anime fanatic friends, I hope you are all doing well. This time I want to talk about a very relaxing anime, and you won’t believe it but it’s an isekai… hahaha, yes, me reviewing an isekai, what a crazy world… but anyway, today I’ll talk about: That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime… seriously, when I heard that title for the first time, I almost didn’t pay attention to it, I mean, really, “Reincarnated as a Slime”? It sounded like your typical cheesy and more burned-out isekai, I was already imagining another super generic power fantasy, how wrong was I! This show… this show has soul, and a surprising intelligence hidden beneath that sticky blue mess. Look, I’m more of a fan of complex and dark stories… I’m almost ashamed to admit how much I LOVE this show. It has a ton of things that, in theory, I should dislike… the main character becomes OP really quickly, there are a lot of secondary characters, and sometimes the plot isn’t that clear, but I don’t know how, it just works! I devoured the first season, and then, to my surprise, I think I liked the second one even more!

And not to mention the third… So, what’s the point? The premise is exactly what the long name suggests: a 37-year-old Japanese office worker, Satoru Mikami, gets stabbed out of nowhere and, as he's dying, makes some rather strange requests to a mysterious voice. The next thing he knows is that he's been reborn in a fantasy world, not as the drunken hero, nor as the demon king, but as a slime... yes, a literal, soft, gelatinous blue slime, but here's the cool part: it's not just any slime. He has an awesome ability called "Predator" that lets him absorb and analyze anything he eats, keeping its properties and powers... plus, he retains his human intelligence, which for a slime, is basically a god-level genius, so he starts eating some magical herbs and minerals in a cave and BOOM! He's already leveling up like crazy... then he ends up meeting a legendary dragon, and things get way more interesting... this is the story of Rimuru Tempest, our slime protagonist.

Let me tell you, Rimuru is a big part of why this series is so great, he's not your typical screaming shonen protagonist, nor the traumatized anti-hero. He’s… chill.. super laid back, cool most of the time, and his first instinct is to figure out how to help people, or at least make things more comfortable and efficient for everyone.. he’s an adult, and it shows: emotionally mature, he’s a fast learner, he cracks jokes sometimes, but deep down he’s actually really decent, it’s a relief to have a main character who isn’t constantly angst-ridden or needing to learn basic life lessons.. His journey isn’t just about getting stronger, it’s more about him being blindsided by leadership and then actually trying to build a nation where a bunch of different races can live in peace.. imagine Age of Empires but with more adorable wolf cubs and tsundere dragons.

Hola a todos amigos fanáticos del anime, espero que estén bien, en esta ocasión, les quiero hablar de un anime muy relajante, y no lo creerán pero es un isekai.. jajaja, si, yo haciendo reseña de un isekai, que mundo de locos.. pero bueno, hoy les hablaré de: That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime.. en serio, cuando escuché ese título por primera vez, casi que ni le prestó atención, o sea, ¿neta, "Reencarnado en un Slime"? Sonaba al típico isekai chafa y más quemado, ya me imaginaba otra fantasía de poder súper genérica, ¡qué equivocado estaba! Esta serie… esta serie tiene alma, y una inteligencia bien sorprendente escondida debajo de esa masita azul y pegajosa, miren que yo soy más de historias complejas y oscuras.. casi me da penita admitir cuánto AMO esta serie, tiene un montón de cosas que, en teoría, deberían caerme mal.. el prota se vuelve OP rapidísimo, hay muchos personajes secundarios, y la trama a veces como que no es tan clara, pero no sé cómo, ¡simplemente funciona!
Me devoré la primera temporada y luego, para mi sorpresa, creo que la segunda me gustó ¡todavía más! Y sin decir de la tercera.. Entonces, ¿de qué va la onda? La premisa es justo lo que dice ese nombre larguísimo: un oficinista japonés de 37 años, Satoru Mikami, lo apuñalan así de la nada y, mientras se está muriendo, le hace unas peticiones medio raras a una voz misteriosa.. Lo siguiente que sabe es que renació en un mundo de fantasía, no como el héroe mamado, ni como el rey demonio, sino como un slime.. si, un slime azulito, literal, blandito y gelatinoso, pero aquí viene lo chido: no es un slime cualquiera. Tiene una habilidad brutal que se llama "Depredador", que le deja absorber y analizar cualquier cosa que se coma, y así se queda con sus propiedades y poderes.. además, conserva su inteligencia de humano, que para un slime, es básicamente ser un genio nivel dios, así que empieza comiéndose unas hierbitas mágicas y minerales en una cueva y ¡PUM!, ya está subiendo de nivel como loco.. luego termina encontradose con un dragón legendario, y todo comienza a ser más interesante.. está es la historia de Rimuru Tempest, nuestro prota slime.
Déjenme decirles que Rimuru es gran parte de por qué esta serie es tan genial, no es el típico prota de shonen gritón, ni el antihéroe todo traumado. Es… tranquilo.. súper relajado, buena onda casi siempre, y su primer instinto es ver cómo ayudar a la gente o, por lo menos, cómo hacer las cosas más cómodas y eficientes para todos.. es un adulto, y se nota: maduro emocionalmente, aprende rápido, a veces se echa sus chistes, pero en el fondo es súper decente, es un alivio tener un prota que no está todo el tiempo angustiado o necesitando aprender lecciones básicas de la vida.. Su viaje no es solo de volverse más fuerte, es más sobre cómo le cae de sorpresa el liderazgo y luego de verdad intenta construir una nación donde un montón de razas diferentes puedan vivir en paz.. imagínense un Age of Empires pero con más lobitos adorables y dragones tsundere.

And well, speaking of which, one of the first "people" Rimuru meets is Veldora, an ultra-powerful Storm Dragon, one of those scary ones, who had been sealed for centuries... just like that... they become friends! Because, well, yes, the two of them were kind of lonely and didn't seem to have anything better to do, Veldora gives Rimuru his name, and this, unintentionally, gives him brutal power, and their friendship is really tender and you die of laughter... this kind of sets the tone for many of Rimuru's interactions, he ends up helping a goblin village, then a pack of wolves that were really scary, and before he knows it, he's already their leader! The guy doesn't go around looking for trouble, but when someone needs help, as long as he can lend a hand he will... that brings me to the general tone of the series.

It’s mainly a fantasy comedy, and it’s really funny, it loves to play with RPG clichés and fantasy stories, but not in a ridiculous way, like KonoSuba, Slime’s humor often comes from awkward situations, clever puns, or just the absurdity of some things. The visual comedy is also top-notch, thanks to its art style which is super vibrant and expressive. Rimuru himself, even though he’s a faceless mass for a while, is incredibly expressive, you can tell the animators have a blast with his shapeshifting abilities. The character designs, especially the goblins, or the demons, all the creatures look really good, it’s just a very well done series visually, with clean animation that makes both the action and the antics stand out a lot.

But it’s not all pure laughter and mayhem… like I said, this show has heart, it has soul. In a genre that often feels cynical or too repetitive, Slime has this seriousness and optimism that feels really refreshing. It manages to find these moments that truly feel human and reach you, within its fantasy and often cliché-filled settings. You have this ancient and terribly scary dragon, who is actually just a lonely nerd, even the goblins, who start out as generic low-level monsters, become characters you come to care about. The show has this incredible ability to show you that, deep down, people (and monsters) of all types and colors are just… people. And maybe, just maybe, with a little bit of good vibes and understanding, they can overcome their differences. It’s a surprisingly hopeful message, and I really appreciate it, especially in these times.

Y bueno, hablando de eso, una de las primeras "personas" que Rimuru conoce es Veldora, un Dragón de Tormenta ¡ultrapoderoso!, de esos que dan miedo, que llevaba siglos sellado.. así nomás… ¡se hacen amigos! Porque, pues sí, los dos estaban medio solitos y como que no tenían nada mejor que hacer, Veldora le da su nombre a Rimuru, y esto, sin querer queriendo, le da un poder brutal, y su amistad es bien tierna y te mueres de la risa.. esto como que marca la pauta para muchas de las interacciones de Rimuru, termina ayudando a una aldea de goblins, luego a una manada de lobos que daban un montón de miedo y antes de que se dé cuenta, ¡ya es su líder! El tipo no anda buscando problemas, pero cuando alguien necesita ayuda, mientras el pueda darles una mano lo hará.. eso me lleva al tono general de la serie.
Es principalmente una comedia de fantasía, y es bien divertida, le encanta jugar con los clichés de los RPG y las historias de fantasía, pero no en plan ridículo, como KonoSuba, el humor de Slime muchas veces viene de situaciones incómodas, juegos de palabras bien ingeniosos, o simplemente lo absurdo de algunad cosas.. la comedia visual también es de primera, gracias a su estilo de arte que es súper vibrante y expresivo. El mismísimo Rimuru, aunque sea una masita sin cara por un buen rato, es increíblemente expresivo, se nota que los animadores se la pasan bomba con sus habilidades para cambiar de forma.. los diseños de personajes, especialmente los goblins, o los demonios, todas las criaturas se ven muy bien, es simplemente una serie muy bien hecha visualmente, con una animación limpia que hace que tanto la acción como las payasadas resalten un montón.
Pero no todo es pura risa y desmadre.. como les dije, esta serie tiene corazón, tiene alma, en un género que a menudo se siente como cínico o muy repetitivo, Slime tiene esta seriedad y optimismo que se sienten bien refrescantes.. logra encontrar estos momentos que de verdad son humanos y te llegan, dentro de sus escenarios de fantasía y, muchas veces, llenos de clichés.. tienes a este dragón ancestral y que da un miedo terrible, que en realidad es solo un nerd solitario, incluso los goblins, que empiezan como los monstruos genéricos de nivel bajo, se convierten en personajes que te llegan a importar.. la serie tiene esta capacidad increíble de mostrarte que, en el fondo, la gente (y los monstruos) de todos los tipos y colores son solo… gente. Y quizás, solo quizás, con un poquito de buena onda y comprensión, pueden superar sus diferencias, es un mensaje sorprendentemente esperanzador, y la verdad lo aprecio muchísimo, especialmente en estos tiempos que corren.

Let's see, if I have to put a "but" on the first season, it's that the tension for Rimuru sometimes felt a bit low, it's so OP from the beginning that you almost never felt like he was really in danger... it was cool to see how he built his city and gathered his friends, but I was left wondering where the real fights were going to come from, then, BOOM!, the second season arrived. And wow, the second season! Without giving away too many spoilers, the second season really raised the bar... it didn't hesitate to go even darker and show that building a nation in a quiet way wasn't going to stay that way, without consequences. There he faces his first real losses, his ideas are put to the test and he is forced to make some very tough decisions...

This was key, people, because not only did it give Rimuru a really great development, taking him from being a cool leader to someone who has to face the consequences of power and responsibility, but it also helped the rest of the characters a lot... suddenly, characters like Benimaru, Shion, Gobta and the others were no longer just those who followed Rimuru; they had their own moments to shine, their own battles, struggles and their own growth... the world felt more dangerous, the consequences more real, and that made Rimuru's triumphs (and blunders) hit even harder. The second season, for me, made the first feel even better watching it now, because it showed that that semi-easygoing start was leading to something much more complicated and cooler. We saw him learn about diplomacy, how to set things up, and all the ins and outs of politics between countries, all while having the power to support his vision of a world where everyone fits.

It’s that mix, I think, that makes Slime so special, it’s a fun show that doesn’t shy away from touching on serious themes. It has great action, laugh-out-loud comedy, an adorable and, to no one’s surprise, mature lead, and a world that just keeps getting better and better. It knows what it is – a fantasy escape with a warm heart – and it plays it really well, carefully and consistently. It doesn’t try to be too edgy or twist clichés just because; It simply tells its story well, with things that you already imagine are going to happen and characters that, even though they are fantasy, you feel like you know them, you like them.

A ver, si le tengo que poner un "pero" a la primera temporada, es que la tensión para Rimuru como que a veces se sentía medio baja, es tan OP desde el inicio que casi nunca sentías que de verdad estuviera en peligro.. estuvo chido ver cómo armaba su ciudad y juntaba a sus amigos, pero yo me quedaba pensando de dónde iba a salir las peleas de verdad, entonces, ¡PUM!, llegó la segunda temporada. Y wow, la segunda temporada! Sin soltarles muchos spoilers, la segunda temporada de verdad que le subió el nivel.. no le tembló la mano para ponerse más oscura y mostrar que eso de construir su nación en plan tranquilo no se iba a quedar así nomás, sin consecuencias, ahí enfrenta sus primeras pérdidas de verdad, sus ideas se ponen a prueba y lo obligan a tomar unas decisiones muy duras..
Esto fue clave, gente, porque no solo le dio un desarrollo bien cañón a Rimuru, pasándolo de ser un líder buena onda a alguien que tiene que enfrentarse a las consecuencias del poder y la responsabilidad, sino que también ayudó mucho al resto de los personajes.. de repente, personajes como Benimaru, Shion, Gobta y los demás ya no eran nomás los que seguían a Rimuru; tuvieron sus propios momentos para lucirse, sus propias batallas, problemas y su propio crecimiento.. el mundo se sintió más peligroso, las consecuencias más reales, y eso hizo que los triunfos (y las metidas de pata) de Rimuru pegaran todavía más fuerte. La segunda temporada, para mí, hizo que la primera se sintiera todavía mejor viéndolo ahora, porque demostró que ese inicio medio tranquilo llevaba a algo mucho más complicado y más chido.. lo vimos aprender de diplomacia, de cómo armar cosas, y de todos los rollos de la política entre países, y todo esto mientras tenía el poder para apoyar su idea de un mundo donde quepan todos..
Es esa mezcla, yo creo, lo que hace a Slime tan especial, es una serie para pasarla bien que no le saca a tocar temas serios. Tiene acción buenísima, una comedia que te mata de risa, un prota adorable y que, para sorpresa de nadie, es bien maduro, y un mundo que se pone cada vez mejor.. sabe lo que es –una fantasía para escaparte un rato, pero con un corazón bien cálido– y lo hace súper bien, con cuidado y sin salirse del habitual.. no intenta hacerse la muy "edgy" o darle la vuelta a los clichés nomás porque sí; simplemente te cuenta bien su historia, con cosas que ya te vas imaginando que van a pasar y personajes que, aunque sean de fantasía, sientes que los conoces, te caen bien.

I expected to be this hooked on a slime show? No way, people! Did I expect to be figuring out how to strategically build cities in a fantasy world because of this thing? Not really, but oh well, here we are... it hits that sweet spot of being captivating without being silly, and exciting without being boring... so if you were wondering, or if the title made you roll your eyes, I really want to say, give it a chance! I'm not trying to be the next masterpiece, but it's just incredibly well-crafted entertainment with a really positive vibe, really... it's one of those shows that leaves you with a big smile on your face... for me, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime is a solid 8.5/10. It's not perfect, and the pacing can sometimes feel a little slow, but its charm, the characters, and that vibe that truly lifts your spirits make up for anything else... it's already become one of my favorite anime to watch when I want to feel good, and I'm already really looking forward to what's next... and oh well. Yo esperaba estar así de clavado con una serie de un slime? ¡Para nada, gente! ¿Esperaba estarme imaginando cómo construir ciudades estratégicamente en un mundo de fantasía por culpa de esta cosa? ¡Tampoco, pero pues, aquí andamos.. es que llega a ese punto perfecto de ser algo que te cautiva sin ser tonta, y emocionante sin que te canse.. así que, si andaban con la duda, o si el título los hizo como que poner los ojos en blanco, de verdad les digo, ¡denle una oportunidad! No es que quiera ser la próxima obra de arte, pero es un entretenimiento súper bien hecho y con una onda bien positiva, la verdad.. es de esas series que te dejan con una sonrisota.. para mí, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime es un sólido 8.5/10. No es perfecta, y el ritmo a veces puede sentirse un poquito lento, pero su encanto, los personajes y esa vibra que de verdad te levanta el ánimo, compensan cualquier cosita.. ya se volvió uno de mis animes favoritos para ver cuando quiero sentirme bien, y ya estoy esperando con muchísimas ganas lo que sigue.. y bueno. Rudues Greyrat, the protagonist of Mushoku Tensei is quite controversial in anime fandom. He starts as a terrible person, and that aspect of him sticks in the mind of the fan. Why some fans hate Rudeus so much?

Why do people hate Rudy so much?

This is a comment I wrote under this Reaction to Episode 5 of Mushoku Tensei listing all the reasons I can think of. (I thought it could work as an article.)

1 ) Isekai is usually a Power Fantasy with a Self-insert protagonist. In most cases, you're supposed to imagine yourself in the place of the Isekai protagonist... Inserting yourself into Rudeus though is a very unpleasant experience. (At least, this early on.) He's someone who deals with his flaws constantly, and his flaws are of the social/relational aspect that most fans escape from to fantasy stories in the first place.

2 ) There are people like him in real life, and they're best described as a ”waste of Oxygen" so, unlike Isekai protagonists who murder people or act evil, his type of flaws hits closer to home, and the reader/watcher is supposed to be sympathetic to him. Some people can't be sympathetic to $&# offenders.

3 ) A matter of perspective: Do you see Rudeus as a 40 years old man? Or do you see him as 7 years old boy? Seeing him as an old man talking about doing this and that with young girls is uncomfortable, and the anime constantly reminds you that there's a 40+ yrs old man inside, by the inner voice and the flashbacks/imagery. (I'm able to disconnect between his old self and current self on the fly, but some people can't.)

4 ) He tried to groom Selphie. He's (arguably) trying to groom Eris at this point too... I don't consider what he's doing grooming, but it's a hard thing to define, and people have various levels of tolerance to such things. (He did say he'll make Selphie his ideal woman: A huge red flag.)

5 ) We see his thoughts without any filtering... You probably had some depraved thoughts too in your life, right? But people don't say them... You hear all of his thoughts, good and even the depraved ones out loud. Even if he never acted on them, (like many of us.) That's why there's a huge disconnect between how the audience sees Rudy, and how people in that world see him.

6 ) The show is popular even in the mainstream. That's not the target audience. And as a rule, mainstream anime fans are harsher than niche anime fans. (Just see the comments under each popular shonen anime.) Some people just like to hate on the Popular.

7 ) People like me defend Rudeus A LOT!! ...This may be our fault, but when something is defended, it implies that the accusations are proportional to the defense's strength. Some people just think that Rudeus is worse than he actually is, because of this.

But what I love most is what the author said that:

You're not Insensitive. You're normal.

This is a comment I posted on a reaction video for Mushoku Tensei episode 23. For context: That episode showed Rudeus Greyrat in his most depressive state so far in the anime.

The reactor said she didn't understand it, and didn't want to sound insensitive because she knows some people deal with these things.

You're not insensitive for thinking this way, you're just normal. But "just get up" only makes it worse. At least for people who've been there for a long time.

I understand Rudy's mentality he was stuck in. I've been there. Maybe the fact I'm still watching reaction videos means I still am there, even if I got better.

Anyway, when you're in that state you block any positive thought. (Even if Rudy was reminded of his helping of people, his brain will make up 100 reasons why that wasn't him.) In that state, dying doesn't seem so bad, "what's the point in living if I'm never gonna be a good person?" (Extra points if people around you say that too.) You only cling to life because it's more painful (and sinful) to kill yourself than waiting for a miracle to save you one day... People say you can save yourself, try harder, but the fact that you've been stuck there is a proof that it's not as easy as people make it sound.

That's why his first step at the end feels like a huge achievement. Especially for someone who's been there and is on the verge of recovery.

Obsessions with Roxy

That's also a reason why I think Rudy's obsession with Roxy a brilliant piece of writing... People like that need an excuse to block the positive thoughts with.

The fact that he wouldn't have gone outside without Roxy's help left a devastating imprint on his psyche. Now his depressive brain will always have the excuse ”I wouldn't be here without Roxy anyway” whenever it needed to block a positive thought.

This is why until he fully recovers, I would consider his obsession with Roxy unhealthy and toxic. How I love the realism in this story!

"I Realized... I Like Rudy Now..."

I didn't like Rudy at first. I thought he was a good character and I enjoyed his growth. (But that's also how I felt about most villains in shonen, I didn't like him as a person.) I tolerated his uncomfortable actions.

Then, by the time I was reading Volume 12, I realized, at some point "I really like Rudy now, not just as a character but as a person." I think each of us has things they regret or want to change.

Rudeus Greyrat is the perfect reminder that a redemption is always an option! So, yeah... Season 2 will probably change a few minds about Rudy. A few, but that's progress.

The Theme "Family"

The family is a big theme in this series, that's because the author wanted to show family bonds due to his experience before writing the series he was in a dark period of his life and his family supported him through it. Look for the author interviews, they're interesting!

Incantationless Healing

Written on a Reaction of Episode 21: "Turning Point 2"

Rudy can't use Incantation-less Healing, the anime did a great job hinting at this since episode 5. (It's the most obvious in Episode 18, if you wanna go back to watch it.) The reason might be discussed in season 2 so I'll consider it a spoiler and won't say for now.

Rudues has the ability to cast Magic spells silently, without voicing the spells' names. It's not an ability unique to him, but it's rare in the series. Yet, Rudeus can only cast Attack-type Magic this way, he still needs the incantations for Healing-type magic.

The novels actually discussed this multiple times, but it was discussed more seriously in the Magic University Arc, which is part of season 2. I believe they'll explain it there, but there's a chance they'll skip it if they had pacing issues.

A Beautiful World

Anyway, I think it should be longer and have more seconds of focus on each location... Millis is breathing and there are many shots from there a video like this could use.

I think with the content of the upcoming season 2, (especially locations from Vols.11,12) a video like this would be amazing! But I guess that would be at least a year from now...

That Time I got Reincarnated as a Slime is an Isekai Anime that aired its first season in October 2018 that time Isekai Anime which translates to an Anime that revolves around a person who is transported to another world and has now to survive in that world was all the craze of the Anime World. I believe there was one Isekai Anime released every single day at one point so you can guess why this Anime sounded like another Simple Template of Isekai Anime. But thankfully I was wrong. Currently, the anime is comprised of 2 Seasons of which the 2nd Season is still ongoing.

To be honest, the only reason I watched the first season of this Anime is that I had time to kill and I was not that choosy but thanks to that I can now say for sure that this Anime is slowly developing into an awesome Anime that I can recommend other guys. Just about an hour ago Season 2 Part 2 of the same Anime dropped and I have already watched the entire episode and I am loving the way the Anime is progressing.

A part of me also feels like this Anime was made due to all the hype of Isekai Anime in 2018 but somehow this got a lot of traction and sales so they decided to complete the Anime fully. But I have to say that even though this Anime is a little Childish I love the way each and every character in this Anime is developing and coming all the way to help our Protagonist of the Anime Rimuru the Slime.

Regarding the development, this anime shines and stands out the most, I can say without fear that it is one of the best developments of an isekai that I have seen, it is at the same level as tate no yuusha no nagari, because the development of The history together with the growth of Rimuru tempest is incredible, because as he makes more friends he manages to found a Nation in the Jura forest and said nation will advance and grow until it becomes an advanced city in many aspects and is one of the things more exciting to watch, and for every action there is a reaction like the enemies that often stalk Rimuru. And not only Rimuru evolves, also his closest friends begin to grow and evolve to become great warriors of the Jura tempest nation and protect its leader.

Battles:

En conclusión, este anime es muy recomendable para quienes disfrutan de Isekai y la fantasía, tiene un excelente desarrollo y un muy buen argumento a la hora de armar cada pieza del rompecabezas, un anime que sin duda te dejará enganchado por sus carismáticos personajes, su hermosa estilo artístico y sus luchas. ›That Time I Got Reincarnated as an unstoppable ball of power and charm.... I mean a Slime Review (Episodes 1-10)@dlstudios2773d

You know, I could probably just leave this review at the title and it would perfectly sum up my thoughts on this anime, but I guess I really should go into some more proper details. This is a show where a guy dies in an accident and is somehow teleported to a fantasy world as a Slime. The thing is, however, he comes with an entire laundry list of abilities, Immunity too elements, the ability to absorb and learn abilities, the ability to perfectly recreate objects, and during the ten episodes I watched he was far and above everything around him in terms of power.

Even without getting into specifics of the story itself, you are kind of already starting to see the problem here. After sitting through the show this long, there just doesn't feel like there are any stakes. Possibly the mightiest hero in the history of the guild, The Conqueror of Flames, a persona legendary renown throughout the land, had absolutely no chance whatsoever of defeating this slime.

And pretty much everybody loves and admires him. He has a loyal following of hobgoblins, a pack of wolves, legendary Dwarven blacksmiths, and most recently some very powerful Ogres. Note, this is ten episodes in, and already the anime has pushed well past the point of no return. This is far too long to go without having any kind of dramatic tension to the plot, what little of one there has actually been. So far it's been just small story arcs as the town is getting built up.

The worst part of all of this is that the Slime.... really doesn't have a story. He's just dropped into this world with incredible power and does stuff. Helps out the Goblins, because he has nothing better to do, and is really just doing stuff to be a good person. That's fine and all, but being a good person is really easy when you have the power to brush anything to the side like nothing. It's the inherent problem with overpowered characters in most cases.

That isn't to say that the show is completely void of merit, otherwise, I wouldn't have made it to episode 10. For those just tuning in, my policy for Anime Reviews is that after six episodes, if the show gives me no reason to keep watching and has nothing of interest, I will stop and review the show then. If the show does keep my interest, even a little, no matter how bad it is I'll keep watching until that fades entirely. So what kept me going past episode six?

Well, to start with the animation and fights actually a really well done. That said that only accounts for a small amount, as no matter how well done a fight is if there is no tension behind it it's really hard to care. (For the Record, One Punch Man is an exception to this, but I'll get into that another day,)

There were a few things that really did keep me interested, and one is learning how this world functioned. See, as the audience, you are actually learning things along with Rimiru the Slime. And it's not at all like Ulysses, a show were six episodes in you have little to no idea what the rules of the world are or how anything works, you are simply learning more as the story progresses. You have a pretty solid foundation of how things work a couple episodes in. The show is actually paced very well in that regard, and the story told very well.

The next part will be a bit of a spoiler, but there really is not getting around this, as it's at the core of my issue with the series and the major part of why I dropped the show. There was a character I mentioned earlier called The Conqueror of Flames, and as I character I really liked her. There are people in this world summoned from other worlds to be fighters, and shew as summoned from Real World Japan, though unlike our main character she never died and reincarnated, just summoned. Because of her connection with fire, as her home was burned to the ground, she had an affinity for fire in this world. The Demon Lord who Summoned her was able to bind Ifrit to her, and she became a fierce warrior but was forced to serve the Demon Lord. After losing a fight to a Legendary Hero, she becomes a member of the Guild and learned to control Ifrit. She only wished to find the Demon Lord who summoned her.

She dies at the end of the story arc and asks to be absorbed by Rimuru so she doesn't become part of this world in death, a world she never felt she belonged in. She never managed to meet that demon lord again. Here we had a great character with an interesting personality, a great backstory, and was incredibly fun to watch in combat. She was very powerful, but never really felt untouchable.

And now Rimuru can take on a human form that resembles a character that you actually give a damn about, and are constantly reminded of what could have been. I felt like the show was mocking me on purpose at this point, and once she exits the story the last bits of my interest faded.

There are good things about this show. The animation is solid, the fights are well choreographed, there are some interesting side characters, and the jokes can actually be pretty great at times. My personal favorite was when he originally died in the real world, his dying wish was for his friend to throw his computer in the bathtub. Then, at the very end of the episode, you get to see his friend actually do it. Now that, my readers, is a true friend.

The problem is the show cannot escape from ten episodes of zero tension to the plot and the focus being on a character who is not at all interesting. Everything about this story revolves around the absolute worst aspect, and him taking on The Conqueror of Flames form just serves as a slap in the face of what kind of story you could have had.
