El día de hoy les voy a contar sobre otro filme francés, parece que este fin de semana solo vi pura filmografía francesa, aunque no fue a propósito, está vez les traigo El Médico Africano (The African Doctor) qué es una comedia dramática biográfica del 2016 y la pueden ver en Netflix.

La película se centra en Seyolo Zantoko un joven médico recién graduado de la escuela de medicina de Lille en Francia, Seyolo es un estudiante africano al que al término de su carrera le ofrecen ser el médico de cabecera del presidente de Zaire, trabajo que rechaza debido a la corrupción de su país y a que quiere buscar una mejor oportunidad en Francia para él y para su familia.
The film focuses on Seyolo Zantoko, a young doctor recently graduated from the medical school of Lille in France, Seyolo is an African student who at the end of his career is offered to be the general practitioner of the President of Zaire, a job he rejects due to the corruption of his country as he wants to seek a better opportunity in France for himself and his family.
Es así como pronto, durante su ceremonia de graduación, conoce al alcalde de un pequeño pueblo al norte de París que busca a un médico que quiera quedarse, ya que es una pequeña aldea rural que por su “cercanía” con la ciudad muchos profesionistas no la veían como una opción para desempeñarse cuándo veían mayores oportunidades en otras ciudades más grandes. Seyolo en su búsqueda de tener la ciudadanía francesa acepta el trabajo y es así como él, su esposa y sus dos hijos terminan en Marly-Gomont.

Pero las cosas no van tan bien como Seyolo lo imaginaba, ya que se enfrentan a la discriminación y racismo al ser la única familia africana en un pueblo rural donde la educación de la población los hace ser groseros e indiferentes a los demás, aunado a un conflicto político que hará de los Zantoko su carta de triunfo si logran echarlos del pueblo.

En lo personal la película me gustó bastante, tiene un mensaje de superación, así como la fortaleza que demuestra el Doctor Seyolo para adaptarse y ser aceptado en el pueblo. En especial me gustó que la historia es biográfica y de verdad todo esto sucedió, de hecho, quien escribe la historia es Kamini el hijo del Doctor que creció y se convirtió en músico.
Personally, I liked the film a lot, it has a message of improvement, as well as the strength that Doctor Seyolo shows to adapt and be accepted in the people. I especially liked that the story is biographical, and all this really happened, in fact the one who writes the story is Kamini, the son of the Doctor who grew up and became a musician.

Emigrar a un país siempre es un proceso complejo, dejar la vida anterior, aprender nuevos hábitos y buscar encajar puede resultar frustrante, esta película trata ese tema. El título es de origen francés, del año 2015 y dirigido por Julien Rambaldi.
Emigrating to a country is always a complex process, leaving the previous life, learning new habits and trying to fit in can be frustrating, this movie deals with that topic. The title is of French origin, from the year 2015 and directed by Julien Rambaldi.
Seyolo es un recién graduado en Francia, siendo un doctor. El tiene 2 opciones: volver a su país de origen Zaire, donde tendría una vida relacionada a la corrupción y al poder político, o probar suerte e intentar ejercer en Francia. Lamentablemente al no tener la nacionalidad francesa, sus posibilidades son pocas; sin embargo, el alcalde de Marly-Gomont, un pequeño pueblo rural al norte de París, decide darle una vacante poco solicitada. Desde ese punto, vemos como Seyolo y su familia tendrán que adaptarse a su nueva vida rural, donde tendrán que enfrentar diversos problemas, debido principalmente a la desconfianza de los habitantes locales.
Seyolo is a recent graduate in France, being a doctor. La historia tiene un tono cómico costumbrista, mostrando diversas escenas pintorescas, desde el tener animales de granja por todos lados hasta el nacimiento improvisado de un bebe. De alguna manera cada miembro de la familia de Seyolo tiene su parte de historia y muestra su adaptación al pueblo.
The story has a comical tone, showing various picturesque scenes, from having farm animals everywhere to the improvised birth of a baby. Somehow each member of the Seyolo family has their part of history and shows their adaptation to the town.
Mencionado lo anterior, la película no abarca más allá de su idea principal, volviéndose un tanto simple. En aspectos técnicos, no destaca mucho, siendo lo más resaltante el escenario en donde se graba la película.
With the above mentioned, the film does not cover beyond its main idea, becoming somewhat simple. In technical aspects, it does not stand out much, the most outstanding being the stage where the film is recorded.
Finalmente, la película es entretenida de ver, así que sus alrededor de 90 minutos acaba rápidamente. Lo recomiendo a los que gustan los filmes costumbristas y ligeros.
Ultimately, the movie is entertaining to watch, so its about 90 minutes runs out quickly. I recommend it to those who like costumbrist and light films.
