   Hello, Internet people, everything OK? Today I want to talk to you about this movie, which I really like. I've always liked the Disney classics, in fact I like them more than the rubbish they've been putting out lately, so let's go back to this classic.

   Hola, gente de Internet ¿todo bien? Hoy quiero hablarles de esta película, la cual me gusta mucho. Siempre me han gustado los clásicos de Disney, de hecho me gustan más que la basura que suelen sacar últimamente, así que volvamos a este clásico.

   Duchess is a mother (single? widowed? it is not clear in the film) who lives with her three kittens in the house of her owner who is a millionaire, when Madame Adelaide decides to write her will, Edgar, her butler, learns that he will only inherit the fortune if the cats "disappear" as they are the first on the list, so he decides to get rid of the cats.

   Duquesa es una madre (¿soltera? ¿viuda? no queda claro en la película) que vive con sus tres gatitos en la casa de su dueña la cual es millonaria, cuando Madame Adelaide decide escribir su testamento, Edgar, su mayordomo se entera que solo heredará la fortuna si los gatos "desaparecen" ya que son los primeros en la lista, es así como él decide deshacerse de los gatos.

   I think the film is a lot of fun, it has a good structure, it never gets boring, and it explores a number of issues that are not easy to deal with (perhaps less so for the era for which the film was made), such as a single mother marrying someone else, or the pairing of different social classes. In some ways, it romanticises being a tramp (with jazz cats for example) but given the period in which it was made, this is not something the film can be faulted for.

   Me parece que la película es muy divertida, tiene una buena estructura, nunca se torna aburrida, además explora varios aspectos que no son fáciles de abordar (quizá menos para la época para la que salió la película) como por ejemplo la unión de una madre soltera con alguien más, o el emparejamiento entre distintas clases sociales. De cierto modo, se romantiza el ser un vagabundo (con los gatos jazz por ejemplo) pero como tenemos en cuenta la época en la que fue creada, no es algo que se le pueda reprochar al film.

   I also like the character design quite a lot, it's very nice, the colour palette is very appropriate, I love how there are details like glitter on the metal when it reflects the sun or the light... the style is purely drawing style, even the backgrounds look painted (literally) you feel like you're looking at moving paintings and it's beautiful to look at, quite enjoyable.

   El diseño de los personajes también me gusta bastante, es muy bonito, la paleta de colores es muy apropiada, amo como hay detalles como el brillo en el metal cuando le refleja el sol o la luz... el estilo es puramente de dibujo, incluso los fondos se ven pintados (literalmente) te sientes como si vieras pinturas en movimiento y es precioso de ver, bastante disfrutable.

   But if there is something that for me is the best thing about the film, it is the soundtrack without a doubt. Most of the compositions are jazz and blues and they are really good, I'll leave you my favourite (and I think everyone's) below.

   Pero si hay algo que para mi es lo mejor de la película es el soundtrack sin lugar a dudas. La mayoría de las composiciones son de jazz y blues, y la verdad son buenísimas, les dejaré mi favorita (y creo que la de todos) a continuación.

   Hello, hello dear movie lovers friends! I hope you are very well, today I would like to share with you one of my favorite Disney movies from my childhood, which I had not seen for a long time but today I had the opportunity to see it again on television. This is "The Aristocats" which was released in 1970 and has the voices of Eva Gabor, Phil Harris, Gary Dublin, Liz English and Dean Clark in the main roles, I hope you like it.

   ¡Hola, hola queridos amigos amantes del cine! Espero estén muy bien, hoy quisiera compartir con ustedes una de mis películas favoritas de Disney desde mi infancia, la cual tenía mucho tiempo sin verla pero que hoy tuve la oportunidad de volver a ver por televisión. Se trata de "Los Aristogatos" la cual fué estrenada en 1970 y cuenta con las voces de Eva Gabor, Phil Harris, Gary Dublin, Liz English y Dean Clark en los papeles principales, espero sea de su agrado.

   

   Plot / Trama

   Madame Adélaïde is a former millionaire opera singer who lives in a large mansion in Paris with her cat Duchess, the cat's three kittens named Toulouse, Marie and Berlioz, and her butler Edgar. The 3 kittens are quite talented, Toulouse is a talented painter, Berlioz is a good pianist, and Marie practices her singing. One day Edgar spies Adélaïde when she was talking to her lawyer about her will, who gets jealous when her employer names her cats as her sole heirs and decides to get rid of the cats by kidnapping them and leaving them far from home and then coming back as if nothing had happened. , Realizing, Madame Adélaïde is very sad. Duchess and her children wake up far from home and scared spend the night under a bridge and the next morning, they meet Thomas O'Malley, a wild cat who befriends Duchess and her children and decides to take them back to Paris, for so they board a truck to return as stowaways but, when the driver realizes, he throws them out so they have no choice but to walk back to Paris.

   Madame Adélaïde es una ex cantante de ópera millonaria la cual vive en una gran mansión en Paris con su gata Duquesa, los tres gatitos hijos de la gata llamados Toulouse, Marie y Berlioz, y su mayordomo Edgar. Los 3 gatitos son bastante talentosos, Toulouse es un talentoso pintor, Berlioz es un buen pianista, y Marie practica su canto. Un dia Edgar espía a Adélaïde cuando estaba hablando con su abogado sobre su testamento, el cual se pone celoso cuando su patrona nombra a sus gatos como sus únicos herederos y decide deshacerse de los gatos secuestrándolos y dejándolos lejos de casa y luego regresando como si nada, Al darse cuenta, Madame Adélaïde queda muy triste. Duquesa y sus hijos despiertan lejos de casa y asustados pasan la noche bajo un puente y en la mañana siguiente, conocen a Thomas O'Malley, un gato salvaje el cual hace amistad con Duquesa y sus hijos y decide llevarlos de vuelta a Paris, por lo que abordan un camión para regresar como polizones pero, en conductor al darse cuenta los echa por lo que no les queda otra que volver a Paris caminando.

   On the way, they pass by the rails of a train but as the train passes they have to run and take cover under the rails but Marie accidentally falls into the water so O'Malley jumps in to save her, but after O'Malley rescues her He has trouble getting out of the water, and his situation becomes complicated when two geese twin sisters named Amelia and Abigail appear. Thinking that O'Malley was learning to swim, they cut off the branch with which he was trying to save himself. Once out of the water, the geese meet the Duchess and her kittens and as they become good friends, they all decide to travel to Paris together. Once in Paris, the geese meet their Uncle Waldo, a goose who was drunk because they had given him liquor to try to cook it in a restaurant but manages to escape. After the 3 geese leave, Duchess, O'Malley and the kittens decide to spend the night in a house. Meanwhile, Edgar returns to where he abandoned the cats so as not to leave evidence, since he had left his umbrella, hat, shoes and the bed where he abandoned the cats, so he manages to escape again from 2 guard dogs named Napoleon and Lafayette and returning home.

   Durante el camino, pasan por los rieles de un tren pero al pasar el tren les toca correr y resguardarse bajo los rieles pero, accidentalmente Marie cae al agua por lo que O'Malley se lanza para salvarla, pero luego que la rescatan O'Malley tiene problemas para salir del agua, y su situación se complica cuando aparecen dos hermanas gemelas gansas llamadas Amelia y Abigail las cuales pensando que O'Malley estaba aprendiendo a nadar le cortan la rama con que estaba tratando de salvarse. Una vez fuera del agua, las gansas conocen a Duquesa y a sus gatitos y como hacen buena amistad, deciden viajar todos juntos a Paris. Una vez en Paris, las gansas se reencuentran con su Tio Waldo, un ganso que estaba borracho porque le habían dado licor para intentar cocinarlo en un restaurante pero logra escapar. Luego de que los 3 ganzos se van, Duquesa, O'Malley y los gatitos deciden pasar la noche en una casa. Mientras tanto, Edgar regresa a dónde dejó abandonados a los gatos para no dejar evidencia, ya que había dejado su paraguas, sombrero, zapatos y la cama en dónde abandonó a los gatos por lo que logra escapar nuevamente de 2 perros guardianes llamados Napoleon y Lafayette y regresando a casa.

   O'Malley's friends, Scat Cat and his band of musicians have arrived first so they join them who are playing their music. Later, after putting the kittens to bed, O'Malley tries to convince Duchess not to return to her house, but she gives up because she thinks that their owner is very sad and worried about them, so the next morning they return to her house, but they are surprised again by Edgar, who puts them in a sack and then in a trunk to send them to Timbuktu. Duchess asks her friend Roquefort, the little mouse who lives in the mansion, to tell O'Malley to help them, but O'Malley, before going to the mansion, tells him to go get Scat Cat and his friends, and that tell them it's from O'Malley so they don't hurt him. Roquefort meets the cats and after a conversation in which Roquefort is almost killed, Scat Cat and his friends run to help the others. O'Malley, his friends manage to rescue Duchess and the kittens and manage to put Edgar in the trunk which they are going to look for to send him to Timbuktu, Africa. After this, Adélaïde is happy to have found her cats, and also welcomed O'Malley into the house as a couple for Duchess, she crosses out Édgar from the will since she thought he left and decides to include the future children of Duchess and O' Malley in the will. Adélaïde also decides to create a foundation to give homes to all the homeless cats in Paris.

   Cuando llegan a la casa abandonada, se dan cuenta que los amigos de O'Malley, Scat Cat y su banda de músicos han llegado primero por lo que se únen a ellos que estaban tocando su música. Más tarde luego de acostar a los gatitos, O'Malley intenta convencer a Duquesa de no regresar a su casa pero, ella desiste ya que piensa que su dueña está muy triste y preocupada por ellos así que la mañana siguiente regresan a su casa, pero son sorprendidos nuevamente por Edgar, quien los mete en un saco y luego en un baúl para mandarlos hasta Timbuctú. Duquesa le pide a su amigo Roquefort, el ratoncito que vive en la mansión que le avise a O'Malley para que los ayude, pero O'Malley antes de ir a la mansión le dice que vaya por Scat Cat y sus amigos, y que les diga que va de parte de O'Malley para que no le hagan daño. Roquefort se encuentra con los gatos y luego de una conversación en la que casi matan a Roquefort, Scat Cat y sus amigos corren a ayudar a los demás. O'Malley, sus amigos logran rescatar a Duquesa y a los gatitos y logran meter a Edgar en el baúl el cual van a buscar para enviarlo hasta Timbuctú, África. Después de esto, Adélaïde contenta por haber encontrado a sus gatos, y también acogido a O'Malley en la casa como pareja para Duquesa tacha a Édgar del testamento ya que creyó que se marchó y decide incluir a los futuros hijos de Duquesa y O'Malley en el testamento. También Adélaïde decide crear una fundación para dar hogar a todos los gatos sin hogar de Paris.

   My Opinion / Mi Opinión

   This movie is one of the first I saw from Disney when I was little, also one of the first my dad bought me on VHS and one of the ones I've seen the most. I really like the old style of the film, in music, art and setting. The work of the dubbing actors is truly exceptional since they managed to give each of the characters a great personal touch. The animation style is also too beautiful and the design of each one is really spectacular, especially the three little cats and the little Roquefort mouse who are really adorable. It is also the first film to be released after the death of Walt Disney who died during The Jungle Book.

   Esta película es una de las primeras que ví de Disney cuando era pequeña, también de las primeras que mi papá me compró en VHS y de las que más he visto. Me gusta mucho el estilo antiguo de la película, en música, arte y ambientación. El trabajo de los actores de doblaje es realmente excepcional ya que lograron darle un gran toque personal a cada uno de los personajes. El estilo de animación también es demasiado hermoso y el diseño de cada uno es realmente espectacular, en especial de los tres pequelos gatos y el ratoncito Roquefort los cuales son realmente adorables. Es también la primera pelicula en ser lanzada luego del fallecimiento de Walt Disney el cual falleció durante el El Libro de la Selva.

   People say that this film is one of the weakest from the Walt Disney studio, and also the beginning of the very popular "dark ages" but in my opinion it is the opposite. It has beautiful photography and a very beautiful color palette, as I said before, the design of the characters is beautiful, but I liked the setting of Paris at that time even more. There are many people who say that the animation is bad, and I don't know if it's because it's one of the first movies I saw, but it doesn't seem quite the opposite to me, the vintage style of the film gives it a special touch and it's inevitable to sympathize with it. all the characters in the movie (except Edgar the villain), especially the animals. My favorite characters and the ones that are the funniest for me are Amelia the geese, Abigail, Uncle Waldo and the dogs Napoleon and Lafayette. I had a good laugh at the scene where the geese think O'Malley is trying to learn to swim and "help" him, both geese have very funny personalities which remind me of two of my maternal aunts. I also laughed a lot with the dogs since Napoleon always thought he was the boss and took advantage of the advice that Lafayette gave him and they both live on the farm where Edgar left the abandoned cats.

   Dicen que esta película es una de las más flojas del estudio de Walt Disney, y también el inicio de la muy popular "época oscura" pero en mi opinión es todo lo contrario. Tiene una hermosa fotografía y una paleta de colores muy hermosa, como dije antes el diseño de los personajes es hermoso pero más todavía me gustó la ambientación de Paris en esa época. Hay mucha gente que dice que la animación es mala, y no sé si es porque es de las primeras películas que conocí pero a mi no me parece todo lo contrario, el estilo vintage de la película le da un toque especial y es inevitable simpatizar con todos los personajes de la película (menos con Edgar el villano), en especial con los animales. Mis personajes favoritos y los que para mí son los más cómicos son los gansos Amelia, Abigail, el Tio Waldo y los perros Napoleón y Lafayette. Me reí mucho con la escena en que las gansas creen que O'Malley está tratando de aprender a nadar y lo "ayudan", ambas gansas tienen personalidades muy graciosas las cuales me recuerdan a dos de mis tias maternas. También me reí mucho con los perros ya que Napoleón siempre se creía el jefe y se adjudicaba los consejos que le daba Lafayette y ambos viven en la granja donde Edgar dejó a los gatos abandonados.

   La historia es si se quiere algo repetida ya que parece otra versión de la película de "101 Dálmatas" esta vez con gatos, pero igual es bastante bonita y entretenida, otras de mis escenas favoritas es cuando conocen al Tio Waldo ya que el ganso estaba realmente borracho pero podría ser porque terminó en un restaurant por accidente en dónde tendrían que marinarlo con ron antes de cocinarlo, aunque en mi opinión suena un poco raro marinar un ave viva. Y también en la que los amigos de O'Malley fueron a ayudar a los gatos a escapar nuevamente de Edgar, y como Roquefort pensó que ellos no sabrían llegar hasta la casa, empieza a perseguirlos y cuando pasan ante un hombre tomando licor este al ver y que el ratón está persiguiendo a los gatos, cuando debería ser al revés el hombre piensa que es una alucinación por el efecto del alcohol y decide botar el líquido en el piso. El soundtrack aunque no es el mejor de todas las películas, también es agradable y mi canción favorita es "Todos quieren ser un gato Jazz" pero en su versión en inglés mas que todo. Puede ser cierto que es una de las películas mas flojas de Disney, pero para mí es hermosa y tiene un encanto especial que hace que sea uno de mis clásicos preferidos.

And also in which O'Malley's friends went to help the cats escape from Edgar again, and since Roquefort thought that they would not know how to get to the house, he began to chase them and when they passed a man drinking liquor, he saw and that the mouse is chasing the cats, when it should be the other way around, the man thinks it is a hallucination due to the effect of alcohol and decides to throw the liquid on the floor. The soundtrack although it is not the best of all the movies, it is also nice and my favorite song is "Everybody wants to be a Jazz cat" but in its English version more than anything. It may be true that it is one of the weakest Disney movies, but for me it is beautiful and has a special charm that makes it one of my favorite classics.

   Disney Studios recently announced that they will be releasing a live action version of the movie which I really hope they don't screw up like they have done with some of the classics they have re-released in live action and I am looking forward to it as well. Although it is a children's film, it is quite beautiful and entertaining to pass the time, I would like to recommend it to all those who have not yet had the opportunity to see it, I assure you that they will like it!

   Hace poco, los estudios Disney anunciaron que lanzarán una versión live action de la película la cual realmente espero que no arruinen como han hecho con algunos de los clásicos que han relanzado en live action y también la espero ansiosa. Aunque es una película infantil es bastante bonita y entretenida para pasar el rato, me gustaría recomendarla a todos los que todavía no hayan tenido la oportunidad de verla, ¡les aseguro que les gustará!.

   Whereas Jungle Book and Sword in the Stone began the musical nature of Disney Movies, Aristocats is where it seems to have become part of their movie's DNA. A fun little movie about an upper-class cat who gets kidnapped along with her children, she comes across an alley cat who helps show her the way home. Yes, you may be asking, there are a lot of similar beats in this story that existed in Lady and the Tramp. Not enough that it feels like a retread or ripoff, but there are some similarities. It also shares a lot of similarities with 101 Dalmatians.

   Considering that, you can pretty much guess every plot point that happens along the way, so talking about the main story feels a bit redundant at this point, as I would be going over the same things I did in my last couple of Disney reviews. So what I will try to focus on is talking about how a lot of what goes on in this movie is a bit pointless. The Butler, who kidnapped the cats and tried to get rid of them, has a side plot where he is trying to get his hat and umbrella back from a couple of dogs. This involves a lot of slapstick that inevitably goes nowhere. That said, while it takes up a considerable amount of time, I can forgive it for being pretty funny. These early Disney movies had great comedic timing, and they know how to make the physical punches land at the best possible time.

   

   The rest of the movie is mostly seeing the alley cat start to warm up Duchess and her kids, which the movie does a great job at. They are given enough time together that the love story does feel fairly natural. And as characters, they were some of Disney's better ones so far. The kittens came across as real children, Dutchess and the Alley Cat feel more fleshed out and less exaggerated than the leads in Lady and the Tramp, and the Butler doesn't feel nearly as one-note a villain as Cruella. While none of the characters are amazing, it is a notable improvement over the last couple of films. And because the songs are relevant in these movies now, the musical numbers are fantastic, for the most part. The opening song about practicing your music does a good job at showcasing the more noble upbringing of these cats, but the song itself is pretty dull. Compare that to the next song introducing the Alley Cat, which is very energetic and chill. This song I actually really liked, and does a great job at contrasting the differing lifestyles of the two. Though the best song goes to Everyone Wants to Be a Cat, being a great Jazz number.

   

   And that's what you get with Aristocrats. It does feel like it's still in that nature of Disney's other churned out films, but at the same time, there is enough charm and talent behind it to still feel worth watching. Not something to go out of your way for, but enjoyable all the same.
