  1. The Ark: Get Out and Push - Personal Opinion@skiptvads1219d

I have seen rumors, still nothing official, that this show might be cancel before season 2 or even season 1 finish, on IMDB it only shows until episode 4 on 22 of Feb. , this is not so good in my opinion, so far I like the series, it's not the best but entertaining, Ill keep posting my opinion on episodes weekly.

I have been writing this post about Tv Shows and Movies, never really though if I'm spoiling things but the truth is you shouldn't be reading reviews or personal opinion post about any content you haven't seen yet, unless is something quick like a trailer.

    IMDB: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt17371078/

On this episode of The Ark we see the crew turning into McGyver, literally trying everything to avoid an "asteroid", but in the middle of the chaos we start to see things that were happening behind the curtain, on previous episode Eva drain the water from the engines so they are off and all the sudden an asteroid shows up on their path, previously they were going to die of thirst in four days but now they going to die from the impact in six hours.

As you can tell the rest of the crew wasn't happy with the water shortage

    [Source](https://www.syfy.com/the-ark)

Even though there was a consul in place with higher rank officers in charge we start to see how the rest of the crew have been doing what ever they want with resources taking parts from one place to another but at the same time it was to sustain certain services within the ship, its understandable to do it but it brakes the chain of command. So consider all the things going on right now

    • Water for only four days
    • Engines cant run without water, cooling
    • Trying to grow food
    • An asteroid about to erase the ship
At least they have oxygen, their only option at this point of the episode is to try to star the engines.

Ok so now we are back in the survivor mood, everything is chaos and all they can do is try to turn on the engines but you know those details that you commonly miss at first, here comes one of them, looks like Lt. Brice has something on his head, I bet it was after their space walk and Dr. Kabir discovers it but she is just too tired and fall sleep.

    [Source](https://www.syfy.com/the-ark)
Back to the live action, Eva goes to the engine room, get everything setup to start the engines, all they need is a few seconds of propulsion, a little push so they can get out of the way from the asteroid, they still have enough distance between the ship an asteroid so a little push will take them out of the asteroid curse and then they can continue to figure out the water situation. What can go wrong?

On a ship that is falling apart, there is no water, no food, no engines, literally anything can go wrong, the console blows up and now they not only cant start the engines they need to fix the console.

In the meantime, back to Dr. Kabir, seems some one on the ship is trowing a "Before We All Die" theme rave and broke in and took all her drugs, pain killers, you name it, anything that can get you high as a kite without inviting her.

    [Source](https://www.syfy.com/the-ark)
I like that feeling when everything can just get worse people start to be sarcastic, on this episode it feels like the script of the series is getting better, things making more sense, more action, not much of that "we going to die mood" and to be honest special effects and the ship itself are not bad, I like the scenes of the ship the design is cool.

I also like that side stories are starting to develop, there is this scene where Baylor tells Alicia how wonderful he thinks she is and during the process of her panicking about they are going to die and she haven't had any children, literally maybe dying a virgin.

    [Source](https://www.syfy.com/the-ark)
During this episode there were two eureka moments where they solve two of their problems, right here was one of them developing, Alicia was contemplating the "asteroid" until Baylor came in looking for her and after she complain about the entire about to get crush by an asteroid situation, she kept looking at the asteroid until she finds out it has a tail meaning its not an asteroid, its a comet and comets are maid of ice, I didn't know this, anyways they decided to hijack the asteroid to get some of that ice into the ship as water and that would solve temporarily the water problem, they still need to find out how to get into the asteroid. That's why this is my favorite episode so far, lots of side story, lot of problems with solutions, bit of dopamine, not going to lie.

    [Source](https://www.syfy.com/the-ark)
Comes eureka moment number two, its funny the two most undervalue members of the crew again came up with two great ideas, Angus says "If only we can push....like a car" at this point everyone else was stuck on trying to get the engines running.

    [Source](https://www.syfy.com/the-ark)
Even the jokes improve on this episode, they all start running the numbers and the first idea that came up was to use a shuttle but only to find out that the rest of the crew has been taking parts out of it and now its not running, they took the parts to repair other systems on board like engines and water system for the plants, they spend a lot of time gathering the parts so they go even more basic to their problem, they need trust, shuttle not working, engines not working, what if we put a hole on the ship and suction will move the ship out of the way from the asteroid, yes asteroid they rest of the crew still don't know its a comet.

    [Source](https://www.syfy.com/the-ark)
They even got me on this scene while Lt.Brice was trying to fix the shuttle that took the for ever, it was constantly shutting down until at one point he just kicks it as a good old savage and it turn on, for a split second to then shut down jejejeje, it was funny moment.

Going back to the "blow a hole to get propulsion" plan, Angus take some compos and create a "bomb" just powerful enough to create an explosion and get that propulsion, after air runs out on that room the the entire ship would be out of the way from the asteroid, only thing is that it seems a very smelly solution.

This is what I love about tv series now days, good ones have ingenuity, action, jokes and suspense, The Ark is getting better bit by bit, just hope SyFy dont cancel it, was reading that they have that tendency to cancel series just in the middle without even letting a season to finish.

You might think out they are out of the asteroid curse so now its over, nop, now they going to hijack the comet to drain some ice and turn it into water.

    [Source](https://www.syfy.com/the-ark)
Now the shuttle that Brice fix is moving the ark next to the comet so they can put down a drill and get that ice into the ship, this entire scene was maybe too short, they didnt explain how exactly things work, fly the ship next to the comet, put down the drill and somehow they pump the ice with a hose back to the ship. The only problem was the speed of the comet and that the tether would hold too much pressure, its better if you watch that scene of suspense while they were draining the ice, but eventually Brice pull it off and went back to the ship in one piece. Details are important, they never test the water and start drinking it, water restrictions were taken down so every one ran to take a shower.

    [Source](https://www.syfy.com/the-ark)
At the end it looks like Lt. Lane finally finds something about Lt. Garnet, he has been trying to figure out who she is, her past and how she got into the ship, but the videos that he found on a storage device are about her killing a guy on a fight, I dont think that the dead of fake Jasper will be so easy to figure out so I think this video is irrelevant.

In my opinion so far this is the best episode of The Ark, I would say its even as good as any average Tv Series, the first two felt very sluggish, but as I mention it worries me that SciFy could cancel it if audience is not there.

Why does IMDB only shows four episodes??

  2. The Ark: Like It Touched the Sun - Episode 2 Review@skiptvads1225d

    [Source](https://www.syfy.com/the-ark)
I have been trying a few things here and there to make the post more appealing and entertaining, if you like it feel free to comment, trying to improve my content every day, thanks, enjoy!

Besides the fact that I'm getting use to over one hour episodes with series like GOAT, HOD and now The Last Of Us, so far I'm not really enjoying watching this TV series, obviously it's only the second chapter and we're starting to know how essential the crew is and why the ship was affected and everyone had to wake up suddenly. In a situation where everything is catastrophic, such as being locked in a spaceship with a substantial community of people and few resources with no hope or option for assistance, it is difficult for everything that happens not to seem negative and cause that feeling of stress, until To a certain extent, what this series is doing well is transmitting that feeling of confinement and despair in the absence of resources, the fact that there is someone sabotaging the ship or that a crew member has been killed so far is in the background.

    IMDB: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt17371078/

The second episode with the name "Like It Touched the Sun '' opens up with Scholnick, Lt. Brice and Lt. Lane taking a space walk, they decide to go outside to investigate what happened to the ship, the reason why it got damaged. During this scene the ship comes apart and Lt. Lane gets hit in the head by a piece of metal while Scholnick gets killed and sent away into space.

    [Source](https://www.syfy.com/the-ark)
Lt. Lane is brought into the ship by Lt. Brice and at the moment the reason why the ship got damaged is still a mystery, it seems like every time they get closer to some clue something happens, this opens the door for many conspiracy theories.

    [Source](https://www.syfy.com/the-ark)
Lt. Lane is brought to medical attention where Dr. Kabir examines him and tell him about the concussion he has after been hit by that piece of metal in the head, at the moment with them was Alicia.

    [Source](https://www.syfy.com/the-ark)
Alicia this cute smart girl who is very annoying for the rest of the crew because she just talks too much, Alicia is confronted by one of the tripulants for distracting Dr. Kabir even mentions that there is a conspiracy where Alicia killed Jasper's Dade impostor to take his job, Alicia kept talking as always and makes Dr. Kabir snapped, anyone who is probably next to Alicia more than ten minutes would but in this case the crew haven't slept since they got out of hibernation so Lt. Lane gives the "order" to everyone take a rest. Hold that thought, "order".

After the ship is carrying now a few dead people they decide to provide them with a proper funeral, at the end we see Eva Markovic spit on Jasper Dade impostor dead body before the close his zip bag, this right away tells you there is some bad blood between them, on the first chapter seems "Jasper" knew that Eva's lover Harris Beckner, who died on episode one when the oxygen went out, was brought illegally into the ship, after the funeral was over Angus decided to propose to use the dead bodies as compost, it makes all the sense if we debate science but is that the right thing to do?

    [Source](https://www.syfy.com/the-ark)
Lt. Lane, who I'm starting to dislike, tries to decline the request giving "the order" not to do it and throws the bodies into space as planned but Lt. Sharon Garnet suggests they submit it to council vote, Alicia says they must survive and AGAIN Lt. Lane tries to give and order but effectively on episode two seems that nobody has told him that he is not in charge, so the after they council vote all agree to use the dead bodies as compost.

    [Source](https://www.syfy.com/the-ark)
Lane keeps asking himself why Sharon seems to be in charge so start to discuss this with Brice and a scene from the past comes up, before The Ark went to its space mission, in the background we see the earth, part of it is on fire, currently dead characters come up as Lt. Commander Susasn Ingram who gives a speech to the crew, a hologram of The Ark program creator William Trust comes up to welcome everyone to the ship, he mention they want to send out 20 other ships Arks to space missions, Ingram is the one who introduce Sharon to Lane and Brice, Lane ask Brice how Sharon came to be part of the crew without them even notice and seems the order came from higher ranks to put Sharon in the ship.

    [Source](https://www.syfy.com/the-ark)
It wouldn't be strange if Sharon ends up being Trust's daughter or relatives, in this flashback scene we also discover that there was something going on between Baylor Trend and Susan Ingram that I'm sure will come up later in the season. This flashback scene was very informative to know some of the crew that we had no idea who they were, not that they have giving us the entire story but at least more and more characters of the crew are coming up, for example the blonde who ask for the captain on the first episode Cat Brandice, seems she is some sort of therapist not exactly a psychology.

    [Source](https://www.syfy.com/the-ark)

During this hole time they still haven't figure out who kill Fake Jasper but it seems whoever did this threw the knife he use in the water tank that they were using to grow plants and it end up damaging the water line making one of then explode and Angus was there when it happen so everyone start running around trying to fix it, figure out how much water they lost and why this happen. During the cleanup of the dome where the plants are growing and water was spilled they find the knife.

    [Source](https://www.syfy.com/the-ark)
After this events Lt. Brice again go out for a space walk to find out what happen to the ship without notifying Sharon, Lt. Brice was assisting him from the inside of the sip, but this time they did find some sort of material that looks like a crystal but when Brice gets it and try to squeeze it turn into liquid that start burning his suit until it burns most of his left hand.

    [Source](https://www.syfy.com/the-ark)
He gets back on time into the ship and Dr. Kabir took care of him, minutes after that they got a call to council to discuss the water filtration system situation with Eva and out of nowhere Lt. Lane mentions the knife in the water tank, there is an ongoing investigation for Jasper Impostor dead and how did he know that if this was not disclosed to nobody yet.

    [Source](https://www.syfy.com/the-ark)

I have to say the series is starting to get better although the stressful and confinement situation will go on but as long as the conspiracy theory gets more interesting then it will be worth it to continue watching, I would give a 7 out of 10 to this episode, but over all the series is getting a very bad review on IMDB a 3.6/10 but we know how harsh the internet can be, wasn't bad but still not a strong series, besides episodes are only 42 minutes long including intro and outro, let see what episode three bring us, hopefully the story gets better and I will continue covering for now.
