Today is a first, not feeling very well, last night had some fever, looks like common flue and after some pills starting to feel better but I didn't want to miss my daily post so didn't go to work and sleep for the most part of the day, wake up to write this post about The Ark: Episode 5.
When the show started at first it was really weird in many ways, the plot of a ship getting stuck in space with an entire crew in crisis is something that had happen many times in the past with great results like The 100 tv series so it would be hard to get close to this level of success. On episode five The Ark starts to unfold the conspiracy that goes beyond whats going on with the ship and the crew, this conspiracy of who very little people know, some of then don't know each other will add more to the series instead of just focus on the surviving side of the story.
With coming up episode 9, the end of the season gives me hope for a second season.

On previous episode after it was reveal Sharon was a clone, to some of the crew members only those with clearance, Lt Lane was the only one without access to this information so he needed to figure out how Sharon was not the one in the video who cut the guys throat in the bar and besides all of the sudden she was opt out as a suspect for the ongoing investigation for murder one of the crew members. Lt Lane trick Dr Kabir that he would take care of the clinic for her while she sleeps but it was a lie, he look at Sharon medical records and found out she is a clone.
Lane was fool enough to take her to court and wanted the rest of the crew to vote against Sharon and release her from position, obviously he was going to loose the case and part of the crew already knew she was a clone, this was resolve very fast and its not the first time Lane tries a power move and failed.
On this scene Sharon recap of whats going on with the different departments on the ship and its exactly how things start to develop through the episode, I like that, it gives structure to the story.
Sharon also makes Lane second in command after he have a few sessions with the local therapist, it couldn't be that easy I thought and first and assume there was something else he would try, a jerk like Lane wont change his mind that fast and in my opinion will try once again in the future go after Sharon some how.
One character I'm starting to like is Eva, not only because Tiana is hot but Eva is very smart and aggressive, has no fear to show her feelings and put in place those who doubt or question her.
She was order by Lt Sharon Garnet to find a way to get the ship in light speed since it would take too long to reach their target at current speed. Eva knows it wont be easy and they only have one engine, light speed burns radioactive fuel, if failed can melt the engine and radio activity spread across the ship potentially killing others.
Once again Eva shows how powerful she is after defending herself from Felix accusations, he try to discover why she could be the murder and then Eva locks him up telling him she could suffocate the victim instead of cutting his throat and then throwing the knife in the water system, that's just plane stupid and she is way smarter than that, she is out of the case.
Felix finally got a good lead to who is the murder, finds out who send the last message to the victim , Malcolm, but had a feeling it couldn't be that easy.
I also posted this image because something I don't like from the show is this interfaces they use, I find them old and just too fake same for the sound their tables make.
Felix arrested Alicia as it was her login, he did this in front of every one, Felix knows it couldn't be her since she was with them at the time of the murder but he wanted to create panic and lure the murder to a trap. After Felix tells her it was her tablet that sends the message then the truth comes out, it was Baylor who had her tablet for quite some time after she forgot it after she find out about the comet.
After they got Baylor she kept talk about the balance and how Sharon shouldn't be there, every one has a place except her. Baylor takes the charge of murder, case close?? Dont think so, whats the F*ing balance??
At the same time the engine spill radioactive material after it fail and the spread can only be stop manually, a suicide mission.
Baylor volunteers for the mission out of nothing, but this goes further than that and Lane tries to back him up, Sharon knows it and he is the only one putting his life in the lane while they are running out of time so they had to agree and let Baylor do it but before he volunteer he said to Lane that he knew he was one of "them", conspiracy starts to unfold and secrets reveal.
There are suppose to be other ships like the Ark going out to space as the earth had very few days left, the father of this project was William Trust, who "stay" on earth as The Ark was send out to its space journey but it was never the case.
Baylor reveal to Lane a secret room where William and some one else, I guess its Susan couldn't recognize her very well, are still resting, that was part of Baylor mission and others who might not know each other, keep "the balance" assume keep those who are important to the ship alive and also protect this room.
This for me was the best episode from all and probably the start that this show might get better as it progress, its not your triple AAA show with well known actors but thats the beauty sometimes, find a diamond in the rough. The conspiracy goes beyond Baylor and Susan, it seems that there are some members probably with not as much information as Baylor but are part of the entire plan, there were some other things I saw during the episode for example Cat looking at some DNA images?? what for?? things are starting to unfold and the show seems to be getting better, episode 9 will air next week been the last episode for this season, I hope we get a season 2, most likely will.
