The Color of Paradise" is yet another excellent and moving drama. Majid Majidi shows himself to be an excellent director, one of those people capable of moving you with a simple story, although on this occasion, Majidi directs an authentic human drama that does not hide the true feelings of a human being, an ecstatic father worried about his future.
A father who has to take care of a blind child and does not know how to do it without compromising his own future. Thus, without sweeteners, without any kind of concealment, he shows us the selfish side of the human being.
Majidi's camera accompanies Mohamed (the blind boy) through beautiful meadows of poppies, among the pecking of woodpeckers, in the flow of rivers, through everything that we don't need to see to feel. Majidi also shows us this pleasant side, it is poetic and beautiful, but behind it all there is a human drama and an existential doubt that leaves you almost breathless. Once again Majidi was brilliant and lucid.
