The Judge from hell (2024) [ENG/ESP]@yaslenysofia524d
ENGLISH
Saludos comunidad de @Movies&Tvshows…
Today I want to share with you a very good k-drama, which I found with a very interesting premise and, with respect to the main actress, it is the first time I see her in any delivery and I thought her performance was very good, she did an excellent job.
The Judge from hell
Released in September 2024, this Korean series consisted of 14 episodes, directed by Park Jin-pyo and starring Park Shin-hye and Kim Jae-young.
Park Jin-pyo and starred Park Shin-hye and Kim Jae-young. It is of fantasy, action, romance and legal drama genre.
The story begins with a woman in a room, surrounded by doctors, declaring that “I am a demon”, anyone would think she is crazy, however, she is a demon called Justitia, who is possessing the body of Judge Kang Bit-na. This demon is in the world of humans to fulfill a mission (it is really more like a punishment for an unjust decision); a mission that consisted of killing a certain number of ruthless killers and then being sent to hell.
This fact makes her dictate unjust sentences to these criminals, because she needed them to go free to fulfill her duty, however, for the victims and their families they did not consider it fair, that in the end they only died without paying for their sins properly, suffering for it; which makes her get the disapproval and disgust of the public. In spite of her abilities and that it seems to be an easy task, everything will be complicated when in her mission she meets a detective with very acute senses and who will find suspicions in her, besides other demons and feelings that will begin to flourish, getting in the way of her objectives.
As I mentioned at the beginning, the interpretation of the main actress Kang Bit-na was very well executed, especially with her expressions, that turn from being human, to being a demon that does not forgive sinners for anything. As for the plot in general, I was very surprised that I liked it, the fact that at the beginning there were so many loose ends that were resolved as the story progressed, it kept you waiting and with great attention to what continued in the next episode; although I felt that it failed a little bit in the end, but overall, it is entertaining and you will have much satisfaction in how she gives her punishment to the criminals.
Something that also pleased me (regarding Justitia's character) was that, in spite of manifesting human feelings, she never left aside her demon nature, feeling that this captivated a large part of the audience. While the special effects may not have been “whoa!”, this does not detract from the cinematic essence of the film being made.
When I was watching that the actress came back after getting married and having a child and crying because despite that, her fans received her well, it was really shocking how in Korea people think they own the lives of idols and movie stars; still, there's no denying that she did a very good job. If you like demon and legal themes, this is the one for you.

The Judge from hell
9/10 Historia │ 10/10 Actuaciones │ 8/10 Sonido │ 8/10 Escenario │ 9/10 General

›The Gratifying Verdicts In "The Judge From Hell" Series Review@merit.ahama557d
I'll start this review by saying, "any viewer who enjoyed the way of the judge in this series should be watched out for, they love the devil itself" lol. I actually clapped my hands to most of the judge's moves because they were so satisfying even though evil and inhumane. Well, you shouldn't expect anything less with the title of the series.
The title kinda gave me a hint that there could be some scary scenes that I won't want to see alone as I'm not a fan of horror genre in movies so I saw this one with a friend of mine. It didn't turn out as scary as I had expected but great I saw it with her, it gave me more thoughts to share on regarding the series and why it's a unique one.
"The Judge From Hell" is a 2024 released Korean drama starring Park Shin-hye from "The Heirs", "Doctor Slump", as a court Judge who's a demon and Kim Jae-young from "Love In Contract", a righteous detective. The series is based on crime, romance, fantasy with almost no funny scenes. One about life after death (the underworld/hell).
The story is about a judge in hell who made a wrong verdict and was sent to earth to send only those who have wronged others to hell as her punishment, Kang Bit-na is cold hearted and inhumane. And there is Han Da-on, a righteous detective who is determined to change her ways. Both fall for each other but crimes never stop.
There is one highlight of this series that excites me most and I could bet it's same for other viewers, that is "Her final Verdicts" after her light verdicts in court. I think there were like 7 wrong doers who went through her light and final verdicts. Her way of making them pay for their sins and still sending them to hell is so gratifying.
Picture this. An unrepentant serial killer after clear evidence gets a court verdict of less sentences that a mere thief would get. The serial killers feels his money did the work and smirks happily to victim families but then, he is visited by the same court judge as demon who makes him go through severe pains and sends him to hell.
While it's the main message of the series, I love the idea of sending the bad guys to hell but, the fact that the victims of the evil do not know about what happens to those evil people who have wronged them wasn't so satisfying but it wouldn't have been cool for them to know either. In all, the storyline is a good one and indeed gratifying.
Even though the series have romance as one of its genre and yeah, the main characters did fall in love but then, the series wasn't focus on that aspect as much. There was only two kiss scene and a few "Catching feelings" scenes which kinda help put the character playing Han Da-on in a sweet light after the series has ended, it's cool.
Can we give a paragraph of admiration on "Kang But-na" fashion sense in this series? For a demon who is inhabiting a human body, not just any human, a judge. Her fashion sense goes contrary to what is expected of Judges to wear and for every mission she carries out, there is a fashion wear for each phase and that is beautiful.
What I'm not satisfied about or that I think they missed in giving good conclusion on, is that real Judge Kang Bit-na(the human) didn't get to have a justifying verdict especially after an unjust death and the Demon's wrong judgement at first. All the scenes were necessary except the part where human Kang Bit-na runs away from hell.
Maybe it was an oversight on their part or on my part but in either case, it wasn't done well enough. This doesn't take away anything from the storyline though, I totally enjoyed my time on it. Mind you, the series has only one lead, the Judge but the detective role got viewers loving him more and waiting for more of his series in future.
I'll give it a rating of 8/10 and I hope you'll check it out. Have you seen it? Share your thought.
›The Judge From Hell | K-drama series review@josehany564d
Hi, I'm getting addicted to Korean series for pure entertainment, fantasy and fictional love, hahaha.
The Judge from Hell is a series that I decided to watch because the main character is the actress Park Shin-hye, I like her work, I like how she plays her roles and her expressions, I just thought it would be wonderful to see her again.
To put it into context, we have a judge who is quite criticized by the public because this character is not fair at all, since she dictates shitty sentences to criminals who have done terrible things.
But what we didn't know (but we do)and what we will eventually discover in chapter 1 and in the same synopsis, so the information is not a spoiler, is that this judge is really a demon, that is, that body is possessed by a demon and the reality is that it has a mission, to kill criminals and send them to hell.
Being a demon we thought that it would be a simple task but most k-dramas always complicate everything with a character that appears, it could be to add drama or for romance, here we have both but it leans more towards romance, but we already know that a demon and a human is something that really would not be possible.
This k-drama ended its broadcast last month, so it is quite new but I have seen that it has already gained quite a bit of popularity, it is also on Disney + the latter seems quite interesting to me how all streaming services are increasingly betting on Korean series because they have a good reception with the public. I would say that it is quite average, I liked Park Shin-hye's performance, her expressions are the best of all. In general, I would say that being fantasy the special effects were average, they were not impressive but they were not bad either, it is excellent to pass the time.
