Yes, The Lost Symbol is a miniseries adaptation of the novel of the same name by Dan Browm, the same author of Da Vinci Code, Angels and Demons, Inferno, novels that have been made into movies whose main character is the symbologist Robert Langdon, a sort of modern Indiana Jones but with few physical skills to do acrobatics or jumps because he is claustrophobic and afraid of heights. Although Indiana Jones was an archaeologist and Langdon a symbolist, one thing these characters share in common is that they are always on an adventure trying to decipher clues through various historical items such as buildings, sculptures, paintings, manuscripts, and others. But I'd better tell you about the series so you can draw your conclusions.
Pues sí, The Lost Symbol es una adaptación a miniserie de la novela homónima de Dan Browm, el mismo autor de Código Da Vinci, Ángeles y Demonios, Inferno, novelas que han sido llevadas a películas cuyo personaje principal es el simbólogo Robert Langdon, una especie de Indiana Jones moderno pero con pocas habilidades físicas para hacer acrobacias o saltos ya que es claustrofóbico y le teme a las alturas. Aunque Indiana Jones era arqueólogo y Langdom simbolista, una cosa que comparten en común estos personajes es que siempre andan en una aventura tratando de descifrar pistas a través de varios artículos históricos sean edificaciones, esculturas, pinturas, manuscritos entre otros. Pero bueno es mejor que te hable de la serie para que después saques tus propias conclusiones.
Initially, The Lost Symbol was to be adapted to film, but it was a project that was left behind, and priority was given to the filming of the movie Inferno. However, behind the adaptation of the novel, The Lost Symbol is almost 10 years of work of the producers of this franchise of the adventures of Professor Robert Langdon, so instead of making it in film format, they opted for the miniseries format and I think it was an excellent idea.
Inicialmente The Lost Symbol se adaptaría al cine pero fue un proyecto que quedó rezagado y se le dió prioridad a el rodaje de la película Inferno. Sin embargo detrás de la adaptación de la novela The Lost Symbol están casi 10 años de trabajo de los productores de esta franquicia de las aventuras del profesor Robert Langdon, así que en lugar de hacerla en formato de película apostaron por el formato miniserie y personalmente creo que fue una excelente idea.
Although the miniseries The lost Symbol does not have Tom Hanks playing Robert Langdon, the actor Ashley Zukerman has the semblance of the scholar we are used to seeing solving riddles. I think that the miniseries format helps to see Dan Brown's work more complete. Each episode tells details of the characters that are impossible to unravel in 2 hours when it comes to a movie. I'd be willing to bet that several of you were left with questions about more details about some of the characters that appeared in Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons.
Aunque la miniserie The lost Symbol no cuenta con la actuación de Tom Hanks interpretando a Robert Langdon, el actor Ashley Zukerman tiene la semblanza del académico al que estamos acostumbrados ver resolviendo acertijos. En mi opinión pienso que el formato miniserie ayuda a ver más completa la obra de Dan Brown, cada episodio relata detalles de los personajes que es imposible desentrañar en 2 horas cuando se trata de una película. Me atrevería a apostar a que varios de ustedes se quedaron con preguntas sobre más detalles de algunos personajes que aparecían en Código Da Vinci y Ángeles y Demonios.
The Lost Symbol follows the pattern of Brown's previous installments in trying to uncover a conspiratorial plot by those who want a "New World Order". This time Professor Langdon's adventure involves the Freemasons.
In The lost Symbol miniseries, Robert Langdon is just in his early days as a mystery investigator and must rescue his mentor Peter Salomon, a high-level Freemason who has been kidnapped. Salomon's life must be exchanged for an ancient secret jealously guarded by the Freemasons such as the mastery of vibrational frequencies to achieve absolute knowledge. If this secret falls into unscrupulous hands, the world would be in danger.
The Lost Symbol sigue el patrón de las entregas anteriores de Brown en tratar de descubrir una amanaza conspiranóica de aquellos que quieren un "Nuevo Orden Mundial". En esta ocasión la aventura del profesor Langdon involucra a los Masones.
En la miniserie The lost Symbol Robert Langdom está recién en sus inicios como investigador de misterios y debe rescatar a su mentor Peter Salomon, un masón de alto nivel que ha sido secuestrado. La vida de Salomon debe ser canjeada por un secreto antiguo que guardan celosamente los masones como es el dominio de las frecuencias vibracionales para lograr el conocimiento absoluto. De caer en manos inescrupulosas este secreto el mundo estaría en peligro.
Langdon through 10 episodes, will try to save the life of Salomon but will have to face the CIA, religious fanatics, and a faction within the Masons called Leviathan who will try at all costs that Professor Robert Langdon fails his mission.
Langdon a través de 10 episodios tratará de salvar la vida de Salomon, pero tendrá que enfrentarse a la CIA, a fanáticos religiosos y a una facción dentro de los masones denominados Leviatán quienes tratarán a toda costa que el profesor Robert Langdom fracase en su misión.
All the clues Langdon must find are set around the city of Washington, so you will see much of the ideas of America's founding fathers and their affiliation with the Freemasons. Although the end of the miniseries is designed to wait for more installments of Brown's work, as a viewer, you are always left with that feeling of having had the resolution of the mystery in the tip of your hands, but it gets lost again among so much symbology to be kept forever.
Todos las pistas que debe encontrar Langdon están ubicadas alrededor de la ciudad de Washington así que verás mucho de las ideas de los padres fundadores de Estados Unidos y su afiliación con los masones. Aunque el final de la miniserie está diseñado para esperar más entregas de la obra de Brown, siempre como espectador queda esa sensación de haber tenido en la punta de tus manos la resolución del misterio pero éste se vuelve a perder entre tanta simbología para quedar guardado para siempre.
If you haven't seen it yet and you like this kind of adventure, you can watch the whole saga on a weekend since each episode lasts no more than an hour. It remains to wait to see if there are more adaptations of this writer to the miniseries format, as they are worth it in terms of details that enrich the plot.
