    The Mechanic

We see how a particular person calls his profession as a mechanic, but in the course of the film we realize that his job is not a mechanic at all, and that really his job is something else, but that one of his hobbies is car mechanics, as he shows us how he has been rebuilding a car for some time.

    His Real Job.

The main character of this film is called Bishop, he is dedicated to do contract killings, he does not care who they are, he is only dedicated to kill them, as they represent a threat to their customers.

Being this a kind, cold and calculating person, since, based on their good or bad experiences, they have taught them that their work requires a certain mental degree to successfully carry out their assignments, we see how they hire him for many missions, because he is a professional and knows how to make certain deaths look like accidents, homicides to blame someone else, or simple deaths.

I am very surprised in the way he plays his role as a serial killer, it is amazing to see how he manages to cover up his murders without complications, in fact, he is not only a mechanic and a murderer, but he is also a good driver....

¿Quién traiciono a quien?

    The son of his master.

Steve is a boy who, having the contempt of his father, has made bad decisions in his life, since he always sought the affection of his father, but this does not recognize it and pushes him away, because Steve is not the son he always wanted.

Going through this experience with his father, Steve does not know how to deal with this problem, detesting his father, but at the same time hoping that someday he will change and become closer to him as a father.

    Becoming Bishop's partner.

When his father dies, he approaches our friend the mechanic, asking him to make him his student, since Bishop was the closest to his father and learned everything from him, in which Steve wants to get that affection and respect in Bishop, because his father never was.

Being an expert in assassinations, Bishop teaches Steve what he knows, instilling in him his values and wisdom so that he can be like him and know how to defend himself in life. Despite his training, we will see how Steve makes mistakes causing problems to our mechanic, but despite this he advises him and teaches him better.

    Two Unexpected Betrayals.

As we watch this movie, we see how two betrayals arise in which the story changes, and we see how this duo of mechanics deal with these problems.

  2. The Mechanic (2011) - A special recommendation for weekends.@valentin861658d

The Mechanic (2011) - A special recommendation for weekends. A good movie not to be missed.

**Bombs, coffee, some special effects, some sex and the movie is good to see with some popcorn. It's an easy movie to digest, just good for wasting some weekend time.** **Synopsis** >*A remake of the 1972 film of the same title, "The Mechanic" stars professional assassin Arthur Bishop and his disciple Steve McKenna. Arthur Bishop has always worked on his own, with a meticulousness, ingenuity and efficiency that made him famous in the field of paid criminals, carefully studying his victims before perfecting his plan of attack and leaving no clues behind, regarding his identity. Operating in a world where the conventional rules of morality do not apply and where any mistake can cost him his life, the veteran reluctantly agrees to take young Steve McKenna under his protective wing and train him in the art of killing for money. . The ambitious apprentice shows an ability and a cruelty that annoys even his mentor, which is why a conflict occurs between the two assassins. Does Arthur Bishop want to introduce Steve McKenna to the secrets of his profession so that there is someone to successfully pursue his career or to reward himself for his former victim?* **A superb movie, worth watching, an action in the true sense of the word - engaging, interesting and not boring at all. Jason Statham played very well in the lead role, which was also expected, he starred in very good movies: Transporter 3, Death Race, The Expendables. Jason Statham is definitely the attraction of this movie and makes almost the whole movie but the idea of the movie and especially the script completes all the details of a Thriller that is well worth watching - You won't regret.**

  3. "The Mechanic" by Simon West - movie review@godflesh2945d

Wherever we rotate it, "The Mechanic" is a typical (but really typical) film by Jason Statham. That is, exactly what those of you who have been watching the actor's career have expected. I do not remember where and on what occasion I mentioned, but this guy really starts to really impress me with how he give us the same thing, I do not know which time and people still enjoy it - especially if he take off his shirt. Whether he is going to get away with it this time is a matter of personal sensation.

    the-mechanic-poster.jpg

Arthur Bishop (Statham) is a "mechanic" - a hired killer with exceptional qualities, a strictly next set of rules that allow him to eliminate his victim in countless ways, depending on the requirements of the guarantor (whether it should look like an accident or the blame to fall on another). Bishop is loyal to his employer, and when he gets the job to kill his mentor and friend Harry McKenna (Donald Sederland) for his treachery, he does it with his usual coldness and emotional distancing. At the funeral of Harry Bishop he meets his son, Steve (Ben Foster), who is chased by a desire to pay off. By the act of blame (in part) Bishop agrees to become a teacher and show him the secrets of the trade. Steve, however, is disgusting, and it does not matter to Bishop's employers, who are soon on their steps. What they do not know, however, is that Bishop revealed that not Harry was guilty of reprimand and undertook his own attack. Clearly, the film is not particularly original, but when was that really important? And, as we all know, "original" is a relative term, and it usually means omissions in your personal knowledge. Here, however, people have tried the cliché for the costumed villain and the ubiquitous personal principles. But that's not the reason not to get things done. For me the number one problem is the final! In order not to release anything, if someone did not watch the original film with Charles Bronson - which, of course, is the beginning of the podium with the hired assassins - I will say that there is also a disorder here, which we find for the most part from the contemporary American remakes and personally, the only thing that irks me more than this particular case is the final of "Italian Affair" - by chance, also with the participation of Statham. There is not much left of the idea of existentialism, which as we assure "Wikipedia" is covered in the original.

    Jason-Statham-Returns-For-The-Mechanic-2.jpg

On the positive side, I can say that the film has a decent amount of quality action - but not that obscene type of "Transporter", but more realistic and to our joy bloody - and the few scattered heads that we enjoyed in the trailer, enjoy here as well. As for the battle between Foster's hero and giant Jeff Chase, we can hardly call it realistic, but I'm pleased. Overall, director Simon West, who is still waiting to make a second film like "The Daughter of the General," is doing well. Look at one or two dramatic moments solved in some "fashion" visual style, which have no other function than time filling, are another job. On the actors. I have already mentioned Statham and there is nothing more to say. No matter how bad he is, I just can not blame him. Ben Foster is a big fan of me and I am glad that here, although he is in something I would call a typical role, we are not getting the well-known brand of a hot, hysterical psychopath. Donald Sederland appears for about 5-6 minutes, but man is a legend. Bishop's love interest is an absolutely unnecessary image that appears for two minutes - again just for stuffing and for the extra touch of our "image" - but Mini Andean is in the role and is unlikely to be dissatisfied. The only one I'm unhappy with is 100% Tony Goldwood, who is more "typecast" than Statham and Foster. Standard and poor performance!

That's right. If you are not annoyed by something specific, as happened to me, there is a chance that "The Mechanic" will appeal to you, especially if you like such films and you do not care for anything special. But if you are not fond of Statham movies, for which you know exactly what will happen at any moment, I would not recommend it to you.

  4. The Mechanic (2011) - Movie Review@coldsteem3102d

    image.jpeg

Jason Statham was cast in the revamped and updated versions of this 1972 Michael Winner Film. I fould have figured Javier Bardem or Benecio Del Toro, but what do I know? One thing I know for sure, the original felt more realistic than the over-the-top remake.

Arthur Bishop (Charles Bronson) works for a mysterious organization conveniently known as...well, the organization. He is a mechanic, a fixer, or as the profession is more commonly known, a hitman. With his health failing, he takes on an understudy, Steve McKenna (Jan-Michael Vincent), the son of a recently deceased associate.

    image.jpeg

Arthur has a meticulous approach to his work, thoroughly studying his targets before concocting elaborate plans to make the hits look like accidents or natural causes. He teaches his young apprentice the nuance of their profession. The duo complete several jobs before being dispatched to a job in Italy that is actually a set-up. The pair work together, while remaining suspicious of each other right until the end.

    image.jpeg

Having the benefit of seeing this classic script rewritten and updated to 21st Century technology, I must say that the original was better. The characters and plot seemed to be more carefully crafted, with personalities and motives that make more sense. The remake changed the dynamics, taking away some of the essence of the characters in the process. Both scripts are solid, with this one moving at a slower pace, but delivering greater credibility. There were a few continuity issues (like shotguns that sound like pistols and never run out of bullets), but the story was solid.

    image.jpeg

Charles Bronson as a hitman? Now there is a stretch. Cold and aloof, calculating, tough, that is the essence of Charles Bronson in every role I recall. It was a perfect fit. Jan-Michael Vincent was solid as Steve McKenna, although I liked Ben Foster better in the role in the 2011 remake. Bronson and Vincent worked well together.

The Mechanic was rated PG. Unlike the remake, this verion does not use graphic gratuitous sex and violence to spice things up. It broods a bit more, with heavy stretches of soundtrack taking the place of dialogue and over-the-top visual effects. While this film is about a hitman, it is handled with minimal gore and surprisingly little violence.

    image.jpeg

While I like this version better, both films deserve ratings in the 6 range. I would give this one the nod, but it wasn't quite "highly recommended" material for me. The sluggish pacing lends greater credibility to the film, but does bog down at times. The dialogue was campy, as one would expect from a 1972 film. This version has a more believable story, with characters who have motives that make sense. If you like the remake, you are bound to enjoy the original. 6.5/10.
