Welcome my dear internet hunter travelers and thank you very much for having made a temporary stop in my post, fantasy is one of those film genres that can be interesting if they are developed in the right way, looking for something to watch I came across the film "The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones” which had an interesting synopsis that promised a world with all kinds of fantastic things. Without further ado, prepare to face things because we are about to begin.

Sin más que agregar prepárense para enfrentar cosas pues estamos por comenzar.

The soundtrack is not really an interesting section, it fulfills its function but it lacks that touch to be able to turn the moments of intrigue and action into something truly excellent, this lack takes away the power of these scenes.

The plot is quite boring to watch, we are talking about a film that focuses more on teenage romance and imbecilities of that style than on developing its premise that seemed moderately interesting, on the other hand, the confrontations are not notable either because it never really goes into depth. on their foundations or anything similar. Narratively, the film leaves too many things unexplained so it is easy for the viewer to get lost and not understand half of what is happening. It contains many plot holes that end up showing bad writing. At the same time, it uses a lot of the resource of making saves. last minute through things that were never explained, causing the characters to be saved on more than one occasion by the magic of the script. The duration is exaggerated, we are talking about a little more than 2 hours in which you only see an idiotic romance that goes nowhere (other than showing a disgusting, possibly incestuous kiss) the film had the potential to keep the viewer's attention trapped with fantasy. interesting, however, it only gives forgettable and boring garbage.

La trama es bastante aburrida de ver, hablamos de un filme que se enfoca más en romance adolescente e imbecilidades de ese estilo que en desarrollar su premisa que parecía medianamente interesante, por otro lado, los enfrentamientos tampoco son destacable debido a que nunca realmente se ahonda sobre los fundamentos de los mismos ni nada que se le asemeje. Narrativamente la cinta deja demasiadas cosas sin explicar por lo que es fácil que el espectador se pierda y no entienda la mitad de lo que sucede, alberga muchos huecos argumentales que terminan evidenciando mala escritura, a su vez, usa mucho el recurso de hacer salvadas de último minuto mediante cosas que nunca se explicaron, haciendo que en más de una ocasión los personajes sean salvados por la magia del guion. La duración es exagerada, hablamos de poco más de 2 horas en las cuales solo ves romance imbécil que no lleva a ningún lado (Más que a mostrar un asqueroso beso posiblemente incestuoso) la cinta tenía el potencial para mantener atrapada la atención del espectador con fantasía interesante, sin embargo, solo da basura olvidable y aburrida.

Cazadores de Sombras: Ciudad de Huesos

The Mortal Instruments is an action fantasy film that tells the story of Clary Fray (Lily Collins) a seemingly normal teenager from New York who suddenly began to see and draw a symbol sometimes without even noticing it, said symbol represented something she did not know, something from her past. It was her birthday so she decided to go to a crowded nightclub with her inseparable best friend Simon Lewis (Robert Sheehan), she was having a good time when out of nowhere Clary witnesses a murder, but the strange thing is that no one except her saw what happened even though the event occurred among so many people. In the commotion they leave the place but Clary can't get the scene out of her head and the face of the killer Jace Wayland (Jamie Campbell Bower) who looked back at her with some surprise when he heard her scream as he took the guy's life. After that she receives a call from her mother warning her not to go home. She hysterically ignores it and heads home as fast as possible, when she arrives she finds her whole house destroyed and her mother is nowhere to be found, but on top of that she is attacked by something similar to a dog which Jace takes care of and goes to help her. Jace briefly explains what that creature was and also lets her know that the guy she killed at the nightclub was a demon in human form, clearly Clary was stunned and bewildered. Jace's curiosity towards Clary intensifies when it becomes undeniable that she is also part of his world, a world where demons and fantastic creatures exist and Jace's job is to exterminate them. Who is Clary really? Why can she see what a normal human couldn't?

Cazadores de Sombras es una película de acción y fantasía que cuenta la historia de Clary Fray (Lily Collins) una adolescente aparentemente normal de Nueva York que de pronto empezó a ver y dibujar un símbolo a veces sin siquiera notarlo, dicho símbolo representaba algo que ella desconocía, algo de su pasado. Era su cumpleaños así que decidió ir a una discoteca que estaba abarrotada de personas junto con su inseparable mejor amigo Simon Lewis (Robert Sheehan), estaba pasándola bien cuando de la nada Clary es testigo de un asesinato, pero lo raro de todo es que nadie excepto ella vio lo que sucedió aún cuando el hecho ocurrió entre tanta gente. Entre la conmoción se van del lugar pero Clary no puede sacar la escena de su cabeza y la cara del asesino Jace Wayland (Jamie Campbell Bower) quien le devolvió una mirada con algo de sorpresa cuando la escuchó gritar mientras le quitaba la vida al sujeto. Después de eso recibe una llamada de su madre donde le advierte que por ningún motivo debe volver a casa. Ella histérica hace caso omiso y se dirige hacia allá lo más rápido posible, al llegar encuentra toda su casa destrozada y su madre no está por ningún lado, pero por si fuera poco es atacada por algo parecido a un perro del cual se encarga Jace que fue a ayudarla. Jace explica brevemente que era esa criatura y también le deja saber que al sujeto que asesinó en el club nocturno era un demonio con forma humana, claramente Clary estaba aturdida y desconcertada. La curiosidad de Jace hacia Clary se intensifica cuando ya es innegable ella es también parte de su mundo, un mundo donde los demonios y criaturas fantásticas existen y el trabajo de Jace es exterminarlos. ¿Quién es realmente Clary?, ¿por qué puede ver lo que un humano normal no podría?

Shadowhunters: City of Bones is a movie that was adapted from a book of the same name, written by Cassandra Clare. It was a pretty famous book which I haven't had the pleasure of reading yet truth be told, but if I'm basing it on the movie I'm sure I'm going to like it a lot. I have always liked that movies have that fantastic side because it is the perfect opportunity to immerse ourselves in a world that no matter how fictional it is fills us in a certain way, because we all or most of us wish things like magic were real, even if they come with all the negative I feel it is worth it because in the end just like in life we decide what to do with what we get, in short, it would be great if many of the things we see in the movies were real no matter how scary or unbelievable they may be.

Cazadores de Sombras: Ciudad de Huesos es una película que fue la adaptación de un libro que lleva el mismo nombre, escrito por Cassandra Clare. Fue un libro bastante famoso el cual no he tenido el placer de leer aún para ser honesto, pero si me baso en la película estoy seguro de que me va a gustar mucho. Siempre me ha gustado que las películas tengan ese lado fantástico, porque es la oportunidad perfecta de sumergirnos en un mundo que sin importar que sea ficticio nos llene de cierta forma, porque todos o la mayoría desearíamos que cosas como la magia sean reales, aún cuando vengan con todo lo negativo siento que vale la pena porque al final, al igual que en la vida, nosotros decidimos que hacer con lo que nos toca. En fin, sería grandioso que muchas de las cosas que vemos en las películas fueran reales sin importar que tan aterradoras o increíbles puedan ser.

I must say that I was more than eager to see this movie when I found out that the protagonist is the beautiful Lily Collins, this young actress besides talented is undoubtedly beautiful and what I really liked is that unlike other roles she had played where she is usually a little more good girl, here she has a darker side that is produced mostly by the theme of the film and especially by the gothic costumes. In her role as Clary I saw her very comfortable and very suitable for her as well, it's not a conventional story or anything like that but let's say that Clary's character grew up like most young people because her mother was just trying to protect her from that world that no matter how hard she tried it was inevitable that Clary found out about her past and it was rather her own lineage that was somehow inviting her to discover the truth that she didn't know. Precisely that contributed to her and her mother not having a fully trusting relationship, deep down Clary felt that something didn't sit right because her mother was so evasive about some issues.

Debo decir que estaba más que deseoso de ver esta película cuando supe que la protagonista es la preciosa Lily Collins, esta joven actriz además de talentosa es indudablemente hermosa y lo que me gustó mucho es que a diferencia de otros papeles que había interpretado donde ella suele ser un poco más niña buena, acá tiene un lado más oscuro que se produce más que todo por la temática de la película y especialmente por el vestuario gótico. En su papel de Clary la vi muy cómoda y muy adecuado también para ella, no es una historia convencional ni nada parecido, pero digamos que el personaje de Clary creció como la mayoría de los jóvenes porque su madre solo intentaba protegerla de ese mundo que por más que lo intentó fue inevitable que Clary se enterara de su pasado y fue más bien su propio linaje el que de alguna forma la estaba invitando a que descubriera la verdad que desconocía. Precisamente eso contribuyó a que ella y su madre no tuvieran una relación de plena confianza, en el fondo Clary sentía que algo no encajaba porque su madre era muy evasiva con algunos temas.

I loved that Clary's mother was played by Lena Headey who is famous for her role in the Game of Thrones series. My friend it was very refreshing to see her with a more current outfit and not with expensive dresses as in GT, because I don't know if the first time I saw Lena was in that series, the truth is that I had never seen this actress in another feature film or short film so in my case it was great to see her looking more relaxed and casual, but keeping that something in her that screams that she is a strong woman with a lot of presence and of course with features and a beauty out of this world, or at least for me that's how it is. It is true that although Lena has a very important role here, she doesn't have much place on the screen but she is mentioned all the time because she plays a key character in the story, she is the reason why Clary never knew her past and the power that resides in her.

Tengo que admitir que me encantó que la madre de Clary fuera interpretado por Lena Headey quién es famosa por su papel en la serie de Game of Thrones (Juego de Tronos). Fue muy refrescante verla con una indumentaria más actual y no con vestidos costosos como en GOT, porque no se si al igual que yo la primera vez que vi a Lena fue en esa serie, la verdad es que jamás había visto a esa actriz en otro largo o cortometraje, así que, en mi caso fue grandioso verla luciendo más relajada y casual, pero manteniendo ese algo en ella que grita que es una mujer fuerte con muchísima presencia y por su puesto con unos rasgos y una belleza fuera de este mundo, o por lo menos para mí es así. Es cierto que aunque Lena tiene un papel muy importante acá, no tiene mucho lugar en la pantalla pero si se menciona en todo momento porque ella interpreta un personaje clave en la historia, ella es la razón por la que Clary nunca conoció su pasado y el poder que reside en ella.

A curious fact that I read after watching the movie was that the actor Jamie Campbell Bower who plays the lead role in this story, it turns out that the fans of the book (or most of them) were disappointed that Jamie was the actor who gave life to Jace Wayland because most agreed that he was not suitable and that in a way he would not do justice to this character that was so loved by his fans, the actor was clearly somewhat disappointed and sad because he did not understand why they thought such a thing, but he made sure that his performance spoke for him, because after seeing him in action were more those who were on his side than those who were not, and as I said before although I have not read the book I feel that he played his role to perfection, at least from my point of view without being a fan of the character because I did not know him, but in a way I understand it because Jace had not had such a relevant role, because in my case I had seen him in his appearance in Twilight as one of the Vulturi and the truth is that this character was not relevant, plus he had little appearance and weight in the story, being honest the character itself is quite annoying, however they gave him a good role and he did very well indeed.

Un dato curioso que leí después de ver la película fue que el actor Jamie Campbell Bower que interpreta el papel protagónico de esta historia, pues resulta que a los fans del libro (o la mayoría de ellos) les decepcionaba que Jamie fuera el actor que le diera vida a Jace Wayland porque la mayoría estaba de acuerdo con que el no era adecuado y que de cierta forma el no le haría justicia a este personaje que fue tan amado por sus fans, el actor estaba claramente algo decepcionado y triste porque no entendía porqué pensaban tal cosa, pero se encargó de que su actuación hablara por él, porque después de verlo en acción fueron más los que estuvieron de su lado que los que no lo estaban, y como dije anteriormente aunque no he leído el libro siento que el interpretó su papel a la perfección, por lo menos desde mi punto de vista sin ser fan del personaje, porque claramente lo desconocía. En cierta forma entiendo la duda de los fans porque Jace para le momento no había tenido un papel así de relevancia, porque en mi caso lo había visto en su aparición en Crepúsculo como uno de los Vulturi y la verdad es que ese personaje no era la gran cosa, además de que tuvo poca aparición y peso en la historia, siendo sincero el personaje en sí es bastante molesto, sin embargo le dieron un buen papel y lo hizo muy bien la verdad.

As always in the adaptations of books to the big screen there are always things that have to be cut because otherwise the movie would be almost eternal, I could see mixed opinions about it, the comments ranged from "if you read the book do not see the movie because you will hate it" to "the adaptation was very good, they did justice to the book" but opinions like the last one are not the majority, because although the movie liked a lot like me many of those who saw the movie did not know about the book or had not read it, and from experience I can say that if there is a movie and a book, it is better to see the movie without the existence of the book and that the movie makes you want to read it because when the opposite happens the truth is that it is very difficult not to end up disappointed because when you read you imagine everything according to your point of view and tastes, that's why it is so difficult to be one hundred percent satisfied, because once you read a great story you expect that at least the movie represents the book and that it doesn't omit what is really important in the story, and the truth is that this is very difficult to achieve.

Como siempre en las adaptaciones de libros a la pantalla grande siempre hay cosas que hay que cortar porque si no la película sería casi eterna, pude ver opiniones encontradas al respecto, los comentarios iban desde "si leíste el libro no veas la película porque la vas a odiar" hasta "la adaptación fue muy buena, le hicieron justicia al libro" pero opiniones como la última no son la mayoría, porque aunque la película gustó mucho, al igual que yo muchos de los que vieron la película no sabían del libro o no lo habían leído, y por experiencia puedo decir que si existe una película y un libro es mejor ver la película sin la existencia del libro y que la película te lleve a querer leerlo porque cuando sucede al contrario la verdad es que es muy díficil no terminar decepcionado porque cuando lees te imaginas todo según tu punto de vista y gustos, por eso es tan difícil que quedes complacido al cien por ciento, porque una vez que lees una gran historia esperas que por lo menos la película represente al libro y que no omita lo que es realmente importante en la historia, y la verdad es que eso es muy díficil de lograr.

Should you watch it? | ¿Deberías verla?
I don't see why not, if you haven't read the book and you are a fan of dark fantasy movies I fully recommend it, even if you are not a fan and you like interesting movies with a good story and totally appropriate twists and turns and some action then this is your kind of movie. The actors were up to the task, at least that's what I think, and I also saw many new faces that played their roles very well, I think the sequence of the movie was very well done, I didn't feel that it ended in a rushed way or much less, everything was understood and the most important thing in a fantasy movie everything has a reason and an explanation that makes sense giving shape to everything. In a few words you have to see it if you haven't already, it is a movie with a youthful feel that you will love.

No veo porque no, si no has leído el libro y eres fanático de las películas de fantasia oscura te la recomiendo completamente, aún si no eres fan y te gustan las películas interesantes con una buena historia y giros totalmente adecuados y algo de acción entonces este es tu tipo de película. Los actores estuvieron a la altura, por lo menos eso pienso yo, y además vi muchas caras nuevas que interpretaron muy bien su papel, me parece que la secuencia de la película estuvo muy bien lograda, no sentí que terminó de manera apresurada ni mucho menos, todo se entendió y lo más importante en un película fantasiosa todo tiene un porqué y una explicación que tiene sentido dándole forma a todo. En pocas palabras tienes que verla si aún no lo has hecho, es una película con un aire juvenil que te va a encantar.

Clarissa "Clary" Fray, is the daughter of Jocelyn, who live in New York, Simon's best friend and high school student. One night when she goes out with her best friend to the club "Pandemonium" she sees how some kids with strange tattoos kill another person, and she starts to be followed by one of the young men.

Bienvenidos a mi nuevo post Hivers, el día de hoy les traigo un poquito de información de una película muy criticada: "Cazadores de Sombras: Ciudad de Hueso".

En 2013 se estrenó en cines esta adaptación cinematográfica del primer libro de Cassandra Clare “Cazadores de Sombras: Ciudad de Hueso”. Si bien la selección de los actores y el guion en general, fueron desastrosos (sobre todo para quienes son o quienes nos volvimos fanáticos) hay cosas que se podrían haber salvado de la saga.

En primer lugar, aunque los demonios que batallan en el Instituto lucen descuidados, existen algunas escenas en las que se muestra un poco del peligro que representan estas criaturas. Como, por ejemplo, cuando Clary vuelve al departamento que compartía con su madre y se enfrenta a ese demonio con forma perruna, o en casa de Dorothea.

Un marca página que me regalaron con algunas de las runas más emblemáticas.

En segundo lugar, la química entre los protagonistas (aunque la selección de los actores no haya sido la esperada), es una de las cosas que se pueden salvar de esta película. Es justamente por ellos que terminamos de verla, para saber si terminan juntos o no (para los que no hayan leído los libros).

Finalmente, aunque esta adaptación del libro a la película dejó muchos huecos y datos importantes por fuera. Por ejemplo, el secuestro de Simón y el encuentro con vampiros, el primer enfrentamiento a Valentine, la recuperación de Joselyn y el descubrimiento de un secreto que afecta a los protagonistas; hay que reconocer el trabajo de producción al crear esos aspectos mágicos de las runas y de las secuencias mágicas (sobre todo en los objetos); y de maquillaje al hacer lo más real posible las runas que adornan los cuerpos de los cazadores de sombras

Es una de las peores adaptaciones al cine, y dejó muchas interrogantes. Así que, para evitar problemas, lo más recomendable es leer los libros, vale la pena. Sin más que añadir, me despido hasta una próxima oportunidad.
