Realmente conocí este film con el nombre de “Diario de una pasión”, muchas veces lo confundí con una película que protagonizó Bratt Pit, el nombre era bastante similar. Lo cierto es que comencé a verla, y me llamó la atención el actor principal, me pareció muy guapo, era la primera vez que miraba una película donde participaba Ryan Gosling.
I really knew this film under the name of "Diary of a Passion", many times I confused it with a movie that starred Bratt Pit, the name was quite similar. The truth is that I started to watch it, and the main actor caught my attention, I thought he was very handsome, it was the first time I watched a movie with Ryan Gosling in it.
La primera escena me atrapó y me llevó a ver todo este film que me hizo reír, sorprenderme, enamorarme y conmoverme. Fue todo un cúmulo de emociones y la verdad no lo esperaba, sobre todo por como comenzó la película, de una manera muy romántica y a la vez divertida. A medida que fue avanzado, me percaté de que la historia estaba inmersa en otra, es decir, se presentaba en dos tiempos.
The first scene grabbed me and took me to see this film that made me laugh, surprised me, made me fall in love and moved me. It was an accumulation of emotions and the truth is that I did not expect it, especially because of how the film began, in a very romantic and funny way at the same time. As it progressed, I realized that the story was immersed in another, that is to say, it was presented in two stages.
Todo empieza cuando Noah Calhoun (Ryan Gosling) mira por primera vez a Allie Hamilton (Rachel McAdams) y queda totalmente impresionado por su belleza. Noah le pide a su amigo Finn (Kevin Connolly) que se la presente. Finn es novio de la amiga de Allie, y de esta manera podrían salir los cuatro.

La historia se desarrolló en los años 40 y los prejuicios estaban a la orden de día. Allie era una chica rica, citadina y de buena familia, mientras que Noah, era un chico de pueblo que se ganaba la vida en una fábrica de madera. The story was set in the 1940s and prejudice was the order of the day. Allie was a rich, city girl from a good family, while Noah was a small-town boy who made his living in a lumber mill. The clash of social classes was one of the problems in their relationship, plus she was just passing through Seabrook. Allie did not have her mother's approval and Noah was aware of everything. This caused a lot of arguments between them and they separated.

Ella escuchaba muy atenta el relato y pedía que le contara más.
A few years passed and Allie found a new love. Noah, for his part, never forgot her, but was almost resigned to never seeing her again. As a man at last, he took refuge in Martha's arms. From time to time, the love story between these young people stopped and it was when a couple of old men entered the scene, a man told the story to a woman who was confined in a center. She listened very attentively to the story and asked him to tell her more.
La historia revela que ella tiene Alzheimer y el anciano trata de hacerla recordar, o en cierta forma, ese cuento recrea la mente de aquella anciana mujer y le ayuda a ejercitar su cerebro. Cuando el anciano continúa la historia, en algún punto describe que Allie y Noah se reencuentran y pese a que ella tiene otra relación se da cuenta que aún lo ama y por esa razón debe romper su compromiso.

The story reveals that she has Alzheimer's and the old man tries to make her remember, or in a way, that story recreates the mind of that old woman and helps her exercise her brain. When the old man continues the story, at some point he describes that Allie and Noah meet again and even though she is in another relationship she realizes that she still loves him and for that reason she must break off their engagement.
La mujer anciana que sigue escuchando el relato y en medio de ello sufre algunas crisis, logra recordar y se da cuenta quienes son los protagonistas de aquella extraordinaria historia de amor. Es allí cuando queda respondida su pregunta: si Allie y Noah logran quedar juntos.
The old woman, who continues to listen to the story and in the middle of it suffers some crises, manages to remember and realizes who are the protagonists of that extraordinary love story. It is there when her question is answered: if Allie and Noah manage to stay together.

The main characters
Rachel McAdams hizo un papel muy distinto a Regina George en “Chicas pesadas”, en aquella película era popular, de familia adinerada y muy mala, jeje. Allie Hamilton tenía en común con Regina la posición económica, pero difería en otros aspectos, era alegre, recuerdo que reía como nadie, una chica noble y de maravillosos sentimientos. Era algo arrogante, es cierto, pero su único pecado fue amar a alguien que no era de su clase.
Rachel McAdams played a very different role from Regina George in "Heavy Girls", in that movie she was popular, from a wealthy family and very bad, hehe. Allie Hamilton had in common with Regina the economic position, but differed in other aspects, she was cheerful, I remember she laughed like nobody else, a noble girl with wonderful feelings. She was somewhat arrogant, it is true, but her only sin was to love someone who was not of her class.
Rayan Gosling ha trabajado en muchas películas, su caracterización ha sido muy versátil, pero en esta cinta lo vemos como un soñador enamorado de carácter firme, orgulloso y determinado. Aquí pudimos ver su lado divertido, me hizo reír al principio mientras intentaba conquistar a Allie. Hizo cosas muy locas como pedirle a Allie que saliera con él o se suicidaría, claro, en modo comicidad, esa escena fue muy divertida.
Rayan Gosling has worked in many films, his characterization has been very versatile, but in this film we see him as a dreamer in love with a strong, proud and determined character. Here we could see his funny side, he made me laugh at the beginning while he was trying to conquer Allie. He did some crazy things like asking Allie to go out with him or he would kill himself, of course, in comedy mode, that scene was very funny.

My Opinion
Es una película donde el romance y el drama se apoderan del film casi en su totalidad, pese a regalarnos algunas escenas divertidas. Mientras el anciano contaba la historia, no solo aquella enferma mujer quería conocer el final, yo también, me atrapó la historia y quería saber en que terminaría todo. Más allá de todos los impedimentos que sufrieron Noah y Allie, la enfermedad del Alzheimer tocó mi corazón. Sentí por un instante que regresé al pasado. Volví a recordar aquella época fatídica cuando mi madre tuvo esa enfermedad que le arrebató muchos años de su vida, tal vez hoy estaría viva.
It is a film where romance and drama take over the film almost in its entirety, despite giving us some funny scenes. While the old man was telling the story, not only that sick woman wanted to know the ending, I did too, I was caught by the story and wanted to know how it would end. Beyond all the handicaps Noah and Allie suffered, Alzheimer's disease touched my heart. I felt for an instant that I went back in time. I remembered again that fateful time when my mother had that disease that took away many years of her life, perhaps she would be alive today.

Aquel anciano dejó todo para estar con ella, para hacerle los días más llevaderos y jamás abandonarla, tal como lo hizo mi padre, y como siempre él nos decía a mí y a mi hermano: “no había forma de mitigar el dolor de ver a su compañera desvanecerse en el tiempo y no poder hacer nada por ella”, esa fue su pena más grande. Al ver estas escenas me conecté de inmediato con los personajes y se me hizo fácil entender la decisión que tomó aquel anciano. Tal vez quienes no pasaron por una situación así, solo podrían ver la película como una clásica historia de amor y nada más.
That old man left everything to be with her, to make her days more bearable and never abandon her, just as my father did, and as he always told me and my brother: "there was no way to mitigate the pain of seeing his companion vanish in time and not being able to do anything for her", that was his greatest sorrow. When I saw these scenes I immediately connected with the characters and it was easy for me to understand the decision that old man made. Perhaps those who did not go through such a situation could only see the film as a classic love story and nothing more.

What I liked about The Notebook
La hermosa historia de amor entre Noah y Allie, hasta envidia da, considero un privilegio encontrar un amor así. Traspasó las barreras del tiempo, de muchas adversidades y prejuicios absurdos. La personalidad de Noah, sus locuras y como ambos a pesar de ser tan diferentes, lograron un engranaje totalmente perfecto. Ese amor que se queda contigo, que permanece en las buenas y en malas, es lo me cautivó de este film. Las ganas de luchar y superarse en la vida, de verdad es una historia con muchos matices. Siempre que puedo verla lo hago, realmente es maravillosa. De las pocas historias románticas que he visto, The Notebook es una de mis favoritas.
The beautiful love story between Noah and Allie, even envy gives, I consider it a privilege to find a love like that. It crossed the barriers of time, of many adversities and absurd prejudices. Noah's personality, his craziness and how both of them, despite being so different, achieved a totally perfect gear. That love that stays with you, that stays with you through thick and thin, is what captivated me in this film. The desire to fight and overcome in life, it really is a story with many nuances. Whenever I can see it I do, it really is wonderful. Of the few romantic stories I have seen, The Notebook is one of my favorites.
