Un saludo a todos, hoy voy a hablar un poco de esta secuela, que para ser honesta no sabía qué saldría a estrenarse en este año, así que hablemos un poquito de la vieja guardia 2.

As I said, it's a sequel, but if you haven't seen the first film and are still reading this post, let me explain quickly. The Old Guard is a film about immortal warriors. In this film, these warriors are led by Andy. The plot of this film was that these warriors were hired to free some children in Sudan, but the reality was different. They wanted to expose them, since, as I said before, they are immortal. This is a pretty action-packed film and it's really entertaining, which is why I liked it so much.

Como ya dije, es una secuela, pero si no has visto la primera película y aún así estás en este post, déjame explicarte rápidamente. La vieja guardia es una película que trata sobre unis guerreros que son inmortales, en esta película esto guerreros son liderados por Andy, en esta película el desarrollo fue estos guerreros fueron contratados para liberar unos niños en Sudan pero la realidad fue otra, querían exponerlos, ya que como dije antes son inmortales. Esta es una película bastante cargada de acción y realmente es entretenida y por eso me gustó muchísimo.

Ahora pasando con la secuela, la ambientación de esta no fue muy lejos, de hecho la historia continua 6 meses después de los sucesos de la primera película. Si no viste la primera película, lo que viene a continuación claramente es un spoiler… Bueno, aquí Andy debe enfrentarse a su nuevo reto que es la perdida de su inmortalidad. Pero no va a resultar nada fácil porque hay 2 inmortales haciéndole esto imposible, una de ellas es la primera inmortal llamada Discord y luego tenemos a su antigua compañera.

This story focuses on two themes: the past and the present, but I think this was a bit of a stretch. Here we see a glimpse of some characters' beginnings, so we travel back centuries in time. This isn't bad, but the film starts to get a bit lost in this theme, and when we return to reality, we're left somewhat confused.

Esta historia se enfoca como en dos temas. El pasado y el presente, pero creo que esto fue un poco con demasiado. Aquí veremos un poco de los inicios de algunos personajes por lo qué viajamos siglos atrás en el pasado. Y esto no está mal pero la película como que se empieza a perder un poco en este tema y cuando volvemos a la realidad nos quedamos algo confundidos.

I felt like this movie did too much and in the end said nothing and showed nothing. I didn't expect anything, and I was still disappointed. And it hurt to feel disappointed with this movie because I loved the first one. Even the action here seems underdeveloped, as if it lacks more spark, and it even gets boring at one point with so many flashbacks where in the end we're told almost nothing. It also seems like there will be another movie, given how everything ended. Let's hope that if it happens, it's better than this one.

Sentí que esta película hizo mucho y al final no dijo nada y no mostró nada, no esperaba nada y aun así terminé decepcionada. Y me dolió sentirme decepcionada de esta película porque yo amé la primera, aquí hasta la acción se ve poco trabajada, como que le falta más chispa, y hasta se vuelve en un punto aburrida con tantas vueltas al pasado donde al final no nos dicen casi nada. También parece que habrá una continuación por como terminó todo, esperemos que si sucede, sea mejor que esta.

Ce film d'1h43 est disponible sur Netflix depuis le 2 juillet 2025.

Nous nous souvenions avoir apprécié le premier volet sorti en 2020, et nous espérions une suite qui vient donc de débarquer.

Synopsis :

Andromaque (Charlize Theron), dite "Andy", est une des membres de la Vieille Garde, composée d'immortels. Selon des archives conservées par l'un d'entre eux, l'immortalité ne serait pas un don éternel. Si certaines conditions sont réunies, elle pourrait être retirée ou transmise selon le cas.

Les immortels se battent pour sauvegarder l'entièreté de l'humanité. Tous les immortels ne sont pas dans le même camp, ils s'affrontent même dans des endroits "à risque".

Ils passent inaperçus dans la population des mortels, ils sont comme tout le monde, c'est juste que leurs blessures se guérissent en quelques secondes. Comme souvent, la seule façon de tuer un immortel est de lui couper la tête.

Parfois, certains sont jetés pour de longs moments, des mois, des années, des siècles, dans un genre de sarcophage, au fond de l'eau ,jusqu'au moment où ce sarcophage est remonté à la surface par des immortels qui ont un intérêt à ramener cette immortelle-là dans le monde des vivants.

Mon avis et petites infos :

Je ne vais pas vous mentir, nous avons été un peu déçus quand est arrivé la fin du film, alors que l'histoire n'est pas finie. Nous nous attendons à un 3e volet, il n'y a pas de doute là-dessus.

Parmi les acteurs, vous connaissez Charlize Theron (Blanche-Neige et le Chasseur), on croise aussi Uma Thurman (Kill Bill) et Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years a Slave). Vous connaissez sûrement aussi l'acteur belge Matthias Schoenaerts (Sons of Philadelphia/Frères de Sang), dont la filmographie ne cesse de s'allonger. Les autres sont moins connus : Kiki Layne, Marwan Kenzari, Luca Marinelli, Veronica Ngo, Henry Golding. La prochaine fois que je les verrai, ils ne me seront plus aussi inconnus 😊.

Saludos por aqui, he estado ausente hablando en cuanto a contenido, pero me he estado manteniendo un poco activo con la curación de comentarios bajo el proyecto @topcomment y quiero aprovechar la ocasión en vista de que he estado viendo cosas muy irregulares en cuanto a varios comentarios que me han llamado la atención. Lo primero es que no veo conveniente eso de traducir el comentario a otro idioma cuando en el mismo contenido se deja ver que el autor al que le está comentando habla su idioma natal. Me he conseguido con comentarios en ambos idiomas y de forma tajante les digo que es super incomodo ver eso, es terrible a los ojos, al menos a los mios, y pues es innecesario, por allí me indicaron que son "reglas" de ciertas comunidades, y la verdad es que no le veo provecho alguno más que solo afectar la curación del mismo.

El otro punto bajo este mismo tema es el uso de IA para hacer comentarios, creo que es bastante deprimente tener que ver estas cosas. No estoy en contra del uso de estas herramientas avanzadas, incluso yo lo uso pero como una herramienta no como una fabrica de producto final. Entonces intente evitar usarlo para comentar pues, siempre he sido participé que si no te gusta hacerlo o no tienes tiempo para ello, mejor no lo hagas, nadie te obliga.

Del resto, comentar masivamente para obtener votos se traduce en farmear, y aunque esto es un tema bastante subjetivo y controversial, creo que es poco necesario tener que acudir a "interactuar" forzadamente.

Ahora si xD

Bueno, este fin de semana no podía perder la oportunidad de ver la segunda parte de "La vieja guardia" protagonizada por la hermosa Charlize Theron, una de mis actrices favoritas de todos los tiempos, tal vez no la mejor, pero si la que tiene esas características y poder para hacerte disfrutar una película de ciencia y ficción en la cual es experta.

Para ser sinceros tenía grandes expectativas, no se si tuve la oportunidad de hacer la reseña de la primera parte, pero en resumidas palabras; y aquí viene un spoiler, se trata de personas que son inmortales y han vivido cientos de guerras y eventos importantes donde siempre terminan protegiendo a alguien importante que cambiará la historia de una forma positiva.

En la primera película se deja ver más la parte de los poderes y habilidades que tienen, poniendo en riesgo sus vidas para mostrar que sus cuerpos pueden regenerarse de forma casi que inmediata y convirtiéndoles en armas potenciales que son avistados luego para experimentar con ellos.

En esta segunda parte se ve como un poco más de la historia de los orígenes de los inmortales, y dentro de ello se habla de la primera persona con tener estas habilidades y de alguien en particular que está en alguna parte del océano muriendo y reviviendo al instante como una forma de vivir en carne propia un infierno doloroso.

Esto nos lleva a la parte dramática de la historia de cómo dos jóvenes inmortales son cazadas por el pueblo quienes piensan que son brujas o algún tipo de culto que tiene pacto con cosas sobrenaturales. Prácticamente se deja ver las consecuencias y acciones de la humanidad al conseguirse con algo maravilloso pero que causa pánico por lo mismo, por lo que su instinto primitivo es básicamente destruir lo que no se conoce.

Es entonces cuando Andy (Charlize Theron) quien se creía era la primera inmortal mujer se consigue con una nueva realidad al descubrir que su compañera fue sacada del océano y que la está buscando.

Por supuesto que como espectador apostaba a que esta mujer se iba a convertir en el villano de esta segunda parte, dado que es poco probable que pudiese perdonar a Andy por haberla dejado allí por más de 500 años. Ahora bien, no se deja claro en ningún momento qué tipo de relación más allá de una amistad tenían ambas, pero parece ser algo bastante fuerte como para llegar a pesar que se amaban más que como amigas.

En todo este meollo se descubre las intenciones de querer aniquilar la humanidad por los actos del pasado, y con ello un secreto que se va desvelando a medida que se desarrolla la película con respecto a las razones reales por la cual algunos van perdiendo sus poderes.

Cabe acotar que Andy al final de la primera película pierde sus poderes "para siempre", pero en esta segunda todo cambia y con ello la persona clave que consiguen en la primera temporada de esta aventura, una novata de todo esto que pues, es la llave para no solo descubrir el origen, también para ponerle fin si cae en manos inadecuadas.

Me resulta gracioso que la villana y quien es realmente la primer inmortal se llame Discord, que por cierto se trata nada más y nada menos que de Uma Thurman otra de las actrices que cuando se trata de acción y verdadero entretenimiento, sabe lo que hace.

Ahora bien, luego de haber visto la segunda película, muchas cosas me preocupan, primero porque concuerdo con la crítica que hay en las comunidades de cine fuera de Hive, y es que estuvo bastante flojo en todo, en historia y en acción. Algo que me plantea la posibilidad remota que Netflix no vaya a renovar para la 3era parte, cosa que pues se puede venir pronto pues no hubo un buen manejo de la continuidad de la historia y se ve como un capítulo más de una serie, considerando que es una película.

Y lo otro es que una tercera película tiene que ser muy buena para redimirse y quedar equilibrados, porque del resto veo impensable rescatar la burrada que han hecho con la historia y cronología.

Hello everyone, I am going to review The Old Guard 2 movie.

Seeing the first part of the film, my experience at that time (which is about 4 to 5 years ago) was exactly the same. But yes, I really enjoyed the film. At the same time, I did criticize the length of the film perhaps 2 hours or a little more. Apart from this, the story of this film was carried forward on the adaptation of the graphic novel or comic book, it was completely mixed with the agenda of the Netflix people.

Again, I would say that according to the first part, the world building and the characters - all this in a very good way, or rather, I would say, properly understanding, shows us a movie with a time pass according to a one-time watch. After that moment, I never looked back.

But one of the hopes I had from the inside was the way the sequel was teased at the end of the film - that going forward, when Quynh returns, that too after several hundred years, what will change? And how much of the secret behind his immortality, which was only teased in the film in the first part, will be explored this time?

When the announcement of the sequel of this film came - which came out very late - and now I am not talking about the up and down situation of the production, but the problems of the production of the film 'Behind the Scenes' - in which it seemed that the second part would never be made.

But then, consoling myself, I had accepted that let's go, if there is a sequel to the film, then it is okay, otherwise the ignoring category will be fine. Then if there is interest, I will turn the pages of the comic book and revise them thoroughly.

Because that was the only region to give continuity to this story - where did this immortality come from? And now is she even maintaining balance or not?

This situation also we get to see again with the whole group of Andromache - Where the danger of going near the moment of death has been hovering over them, but along with this, now Uma Thurman's character Discord has also been introduced, which has some connection with the past.

Apart from this, Henry Golding has also been introduced to the character named Tao while giving his participation in this team. What kind of connection will be made with the character named Nile - that you will get by watching this 2-hour film.

In which the director of the old film Gina Prince is not involved in any way. That is, she came up with the project One Deal and Done, where she gave a good performance as a director.

But perhaps Netflix was not able to completely move on from this chapter, so the responsibility of making this film was given to a director named Victoria Mahoney. I don't know his name at all.

But when a fresh director steps into a ready-built universe with a completely different vision, his creativity changes many things definitively.

And even in this film (the trailer which I didn't see) after watching the film, things have changed in a very bad way.

Anyway, we'll talk about all of that later.

Movie Casting

The rest of the casting is good and somewhere if you have seen the first part, then the interest to watch the second part becomes yours.

So following up the same interest, the first part I saw that time pass, this time in the second part you can sit and watch with some new family.

So friends, I've talked about this movie a lot. So yes, let's review our one word on that clearly now -

I thought this sequel of this film was made by Netflix in a Desperate Move attempt.

After the feedback of the first part, which was made well, you took 4-5 years at most - so in that gap, you could improve the story and the universe in a very good way, as Netflix often does.

But what did Netflix do? He has brought back the format of the first part just character wise.

Apart from this, there was no other reason to watch this film that I should spend my time on it.

Which I have ruined very badly by giving it definitively.

So much so that the frustration is high on peak. But I will say this in moderation - that it will not be at all right for you to give your time to this film.

The first part was okay according to One Time Watch.

Now let's talk about the flaws of this film -

So let's start with the look of Forty Then.

Brother, what a look! It has been designed keeping in mind today's generation, and their entire team also looked very shabby.

Equally bad is the story of this film - which, without any head-to-toe, pulls you to the pointless story in such a way that there is no limit.

There was only one region to watch this film from above - action, action, action.

What is missing from this film is that when it comes on screen, it feels like watching a B-grade Hollywood film.

It fits into exactly the same category.

Seeing this kind of action, the passion inside me has completely died for the third part of this film.

Yes, if you are thinking that the third part will not be made - Well, no announcement has been made.

But here's how the film ends. My brother was a clickbait.

Definitely a half-ending, which probably the Netflix guys felt while making it - that let's make a 2-hour movie, now stop here.

If the production gives the expenses of the next part, then we will make it, otherwise we will give the cancellation paper in the hands of the director.

Because in their creativity, I didn't see anything equal to zero here.

The makeup department has done a poor job, The VFX is poor. The green screen is clearly visible.

Every actor has signed a sequel just for the paycheck.

Maybe the Netflix people have saved the installments - that they will play a big role in the future.

Just to fulfill those conditions, everyone has acted in vain.

It felt so bad that the best of the talented actors, like the battle of Uma Thurman vs. Charlize Theron, which was the only good scene at the end of the movie - that felt a little bit right.

The rest of the film is very dull.

The same torture is the story of this film and the character of the lead Nile.

The only good closure - the character of the booker, which was closed here.

The rest of the characters go to shit.

The film ends with a cliffhanger.

So I'm thinking of ending the video in the same way.

Yes, this review is exactly what you thought it was.

So the film will be kept in the B category by the mass audience.

I'll put this movie in the lousy D category and say this: A complete waste of time.

I wish! I would have seen the trailer, so that I would have been prepared in advance - which mud I am going to land in.
