J'ai regardé une mini série.
Avec comme à son habitude, Mike Myers nous à permis d'entrer dans une vérité décalée.
Il est égale à lui même avec son humour à la fois grossier et lourd, mais avec du travail de fond et de la recherche aussi bien au niveau scénaristique qu'au niveau effets visuels.
Également comme à son habitude il aime multiplier les rôles joués par lui-même.
Il s'agit de
PENTAVERATE
Avec un Jeremy Irons en voix off du générique délicieux, cette mini série va vous parler d'une société secrète qui n'est pas du tout comme les autres, puisque ses dirigeants sont GENTILS.
Vous comprendrez rapidement que si cela a été le cas à un moment, il n'est pas garanti que le Pentaverate soit toujours aussi clean qu'il ne le croit.
Mais un brave journaliste de CACA NEWS (ben oui, c'est du MYERS tout craché), va, en voulant dévoiler l'existence du Pentaverate déclencher un phénomène particulier que je ne vous dévoilerai pas pour ne pas spoiler l'histoire.
Parfois dur à voir vu l'humour vraiment lourd de MYERS, vous vous esclafferez à d'autres moments quand l'histoire se dévoilera ou quand un effet visuel un peu particulier sera compris.
A réserver à un public averti, mais si vous avez le courage de commencer la série, veillez à la finir. Et surtout, pensez à ne jamais zapper le générique sinon Jeremy va se fâcher !
Rob Lowe, Maria Menounos, Jeremy Irons jouent leur propre rôle, et d'autres vedettes se partagent l'affiche aux côté de Mike Myers.

Mike Myers was at one point, someone I considered to be a very funny man. I think he kind of overstayed his welcome in my book when the Austin Power's films went on for too long. Sure it is impressive that a person can play multiple roles in the same film but it just wasn't something that could stay funny forever.
Mike went away for a while and of course do Shrek voiceovers, but for the most part he has stayed away from features and just had a few minor roles in movies, some of which were serious roles like the one he played in Inglorious Basterds.
When I saw the advert for The Pentaverate I initially just kind of skipped it because the trailer alone reeked of Austin Powers and like I said, I've had enough of that brand of humor.
This series kind of follows in the same path as Austin Powers but it's less stupid. Don't get me wrong, it is still very stupid and juvenile, which is fun for the first episode or two and then it kind of wears off. The story is nonsensical and unimportant and the characters all seem rather unimportant to the overall direction.
The Petaverate is a hidden organization like the Illuminati that are the people who actually control the world. They are meant to be a completely hidden organization but as is the case with Austin Powers movies and Dr. Evil's strongholds, they are actually quite easy to infiltrate as their security is backwards and their guards are inept. There isn't much mystery here as none of it really matters.
I'm not doing a great job of selling it right now because I don't think it is a good show. I do however appreciate talent when I see it and Mike Myers definitely has a bunch of that. He plays about a dozen characters in the series and except for the Australian character, he really nails all of the accents extremely well or at least in a way that sounds legitimate to me.
I also admire the amount of time that he must have spent in makeup in order to prepare for each of these roles and many times, such as when they are gathered around their meeting table, he is playing all of the characters that are in the scene save 1 or 2.
This admiration I have for Mike's ability to do different voices is honestly the only reason to watch this series because it fails badly on basically every other front. This is not the series that is going to boost Netflix and I don't think that Mike could have thought that it might. The good news is that series is a limited one and each episode is easily digested. I did also kind of enjoy the Myers, who is himself Canadian, took some time to make some "digs" at Canadian people in a lighthearted kind of way.
I think my favorite character was "Ken" the news reporter who is extremely Canada-kind, and is too much of a nice person to ever do anything wrong but just kind of falls into situations right where he needs to be.
Should I watch it?
Urgh, the joke that is told at the end of that is a good representation of what sort of humor can be expected in this series when Mike, dressed as reporter "Ken" says "I haven't had this much fun since I was visiting a nudist colony and accidentally backed into a meat thermometer." Terrible jokes like that are sprinkled all throughout this series.
I've said it already many times above but the only reason to watch this is to realize that Myers is an exceptionally talented actor but I think that this level of talent exists only in impersonations and accents. He's made a lot of money by doing little else so I guess we should congratulate him for that. I think if you watch a few episodes you'll get the full experience of what I'm talking about and at that point it's up to you if you want to continue any longer. It isn't a long series so there isn't much of a commitment here. I suppose if someone out there really enjoys the silly humor of Austin Powers films then they would enjoy this even more since it is essentially exactly the same thing.

Un saludo cordial a toda la comunidad Cinéfila espero que de pana estén muy bien y disfrutando de alguna película interesante o por lo menos de una serie que explote tu cabeza de inicio a fin. El día de hoy les quiero compartir una reseña un poco RANDOM y es que hace par de días le pude echar un vistazo a la serie The Pentaverate la cual le tenía ganas desde que me entere que estaba por salir por fin en la plataforma de Netflix y siendo un gran seguidor del trabajo de (Mike Myers) no podía dejarlo pasar por nada en el mundo y bueno de seguro verán que a lo largo de esta reseña verán que repito mucho su nombre o algunos de sus trabajos y es que para poder digerir amigo o amiga que me le debes por lo menos conocer el tipo de humor que maneja este señor para tener una mínima idea de lo que te encontrarás ya que utiliza demasiadas referencias de sus películas.
Se está hablando mucho en foros de cine o comunidades cinéfilas sobre si esta película es un llamado de atención o un poco más de teorías conspiranoicas ya sabes sobre lo que es real o falso. Esto es normal de pensar ya que la serie parece ir por ese camino con una clara referencia a los illuminati lo que da mucha tela que cortar, pero también tiene una gran dosis de humor negro y para muchos es una sátira todo esto dependerá de quien lo vea y como lo digiera ya que a partir de esto tu opinión y el de los demás puede que sean las mimas o totalmente diferentes y la verdad ninguna opinión es la absoluta verdad.

A warm greeting to all the Cinephiles community, I hope you are doing great and enjoying an interesting movie or at least a series that explodes your head from start to finish. Today I want to share with you a review a little bit RANDOM and a couple of days ago I was able to take a look at the series The Pentaverate which I was looking forward to since I found out it was finally coming out on the Netflix platform and being a big follower of the work of (Mike Myers) I could not pass it up for anything in the world and well sure you will see that it is a great show. and well for sure you will see that throughout this review you will see that I repeat a lot his name or some of his works and is that to be able to digest friend that you must at least know the type of humor that handles this gentleman to have a minimum idea of what you will find since he uses too many references of his films.
There is a lot of talk in movie forums or cinephile communities about whether this movie is a call for attention or a bit more conspiracy theories you know about what is real or fake. This is normal to think since the series seems to go that way with a clear reference to the illuminati which gives a lot of fabric to cut, but also has a large dose of black humor and for many it is a satire all this will depend on who sees it and how you digest it since from this your opinion and that of others may be the same or totally different and the truth no opinion is the absolute truth.

Me sorprende como Netflix a dado luz verde a series como Inside Job la cual toca este tema a niveles más profundos y ahora tenemos The Pentaverate algo más sencillo pero tajante al mostrar una car de la moneda o quien sabe quizás es una gran mentira para que sigamos ciegos a la realidad o solo estoy hablando paja para darle largas a esta reseña. ¿Tu que opinas?, una serie con 6 episodios de 30 minutos cada uno que te podrás ver de un solo golpe con un trago de Ron o tu bebida favorita de esas que salen en la T.V y te llenan el cerebro de mensajes subliminales para que vayas y gastes todo tu dinero que tanto te cuesta hacer todos los días.
Sin más rodeo y directos a lo que venimos solo me queda decirle amigos cinéfilos a su salud y bienvenidos a RON & CINE con los Panas.
🎬 It amazes me how Netflix has given the green light to series like Inside Job which touches on this topic at deeper levels and now we have The Pentaverate something simpler but blunt in showing one side of the coin or who knows maybe it's a big lie to keep us blind to reality or I'm just talking straw man to drag this review out. what do you think, a series with 6 episodes of 30 minutes each that you can watch in one shot with a shot of Ron or your favorite drink of those that appear on T.V and fill your brain with subliminal messages so you go and spend all your money that costs you so much to make every day.

Conoceremos a un hombre mayor llamado Ken Scarborough interpretado por (Mike Myers) en sus últimos días como periodista de un exitoso canal de noticias del viejo y hermosa Canadá dando sus últimos respiros por mantenerse vivo dentro del negocio de la información y verdad, pero ya los tiempos son otros y se necesita carne joven para montarla en la parrilla y que aguante todo lo que esta vida pueda lanzar encima de sus hombros y salir victoriosa de ella, aunque le cueste todo.
Nuestro protagonista ya no sabe qué hacer y ve su larga, pero larga carrera llegando a su fin y no lo acepta y lucha por traer algo tan grande que lo vuelva a su antiguo trabajo, pero antes debe buscar eso que marque la diferencia y es donde su compañera Reilly (Lydia West) le da la mejor idea y es que vayan a la tierra prometida a buscar el Santo Grial de las noticias y dónde se toparon con la organización más antigua del mundo The Pentaverate quienes controlan el mundo que los rodea y han sido los responsables de mantener el mundo bajo su cuidado desde la peste negra.

We will meet an older man named Ken Scarborough played by (Mike Myers) in his last days as a journalist of a successful news channel of the old and beautiful Canada giving his last breaths to stay alive in the business of information and truth, but times are different and young meat is needed to mount it on the grill and endure everything this life can throw on their shoulders and emerge victorious from it, even if it costs him everything.
Our protagonist no longer knows what to do and sees his long, but long career coming to an end and he does not accept it and struggles to bring something so great that will bring him back to his old job, but first he must look for that one thing that will make a difference and that is where his partner Reilly (Lydia West) gives him the best idea and that is for them to go to the promised land to find the Holy Grail of news and where they run into the world's oldest organization The Pentaverate who control the world around them and have been responsible for keeping the world under their care since the black plague.
La aventura de nuestro simpático y extraño protagonista comienza y se topará con situaciones un poco complicadas y ante unos personajes que la verdad no inspira mucha confianza, pero son los únicos en que podemos confiar para que la tierra no sea un caos y nos sigan llenando la cara de mierda. LIBRE DE SPOILERS
Carajos no tengo idea de por dónde comenzar y es que he disfrutado tanto esta serie que siento que será la reseña más corta de todos los tiempos o quizás sea donde más haya jalado bolas y no soy de jalar bolas a NADIE. Lo que me deja en una posición de que sea la primera vez y no por que sea la mejor serie de toda la historia y que te vaya explotar la cabeza o lo que otros pensaría que esta en contra del sistema y todo ese bla, bla, bla que me gustaría decir que sí, pero la verdad es que amo el trabajo del puto (Mike Myers) desde que lo vi en Wayne's World en la mítica escena dentro del carro cantando Bohemian Rhapsody dios eso exploto mi cabeza y me enamore desde ese entonces.
Desde ese entonces me tope con películas como The Love Guru, So I Married an Axe Murderer esta en especial se las recomiendo un mundo y la clásica e irreverente Austin Powers que sin duda manejan un humor super extraño y que no es para todos. Si quizás se estarán preguntando por qué menciono estas películas las cuales parecen no venir al caso y la verdad es que si amigos míos tiene mucho que ver ya que mucho de su humor nace de estas otras películas es la esencia el señor (Mike Myers) haciendo honor a sus personajes más icónicos.

Fuck I have no idea where to start and I've just enjoyed this series so much that I feel like this will be the shortest review of all time or maybe it's where I've pulled balls the most and I'm not one to pull balls on ANYONE. Which leaves me in a position that it's a first and not because it's the best series ever and your head is going to explode or what others would think is against the system and all that blah, blah, blah I'd like to say yes, but the truth is I love the work of the f***er (Mike Myers) since I saw him in Wayne's World in the mythical scene inside the car singing Bohemian Rhapsody god that exploded my head and I fell in love since then.
Since then I came across movies like The Love Guru, So I Married an Axe Murderer I highly recommend this one and the classic and irreverent Austin Powers that undoubtedly handle a super strange humor that is not for everyone. If perhaps you are wondering why I mention these movies which seem to come to the case and the truth is that if my friends has a lot to do because much of his humor is born of these other films is the essence of Mr. (Mike Myers) honoring their most iconic characters.
Esto lo menciono ya que es de suma importancia para mi opinión que está más apegada a que me gusta el trabajo de (Mike Myers) y no tanto lo que vino en la serie ya que este es otro tema y tengo que hacer una división de lo contrario no entenderían el cariño que le tengo al actor. Si hablamos de la serie como tal puedo decirles que esta super cargada de PRIMADO NEGATIVO y esa burla o chiste a lo que vemos en la actualidad sobre el uso exagerado y enfermizo por las redes sociales y como pasamos horas y horas tras la pantalla de un televisor o cualquier aparato electrónico que no aleja de nuestra realidad.
La serie no intenta hacer un llamado de atención ni nada por el estilo ya que sería tonto pensarlo, pero lo que, si está a la vista de todos es que las teorías conspiranoicas son un tema que da mucha tela que cortar, sin importar lo que tu o yo pensemos sobre esto ellos sin duda supieron usarlo como anzuelo para pescar la atención del espectador. Confieso que pensé que le darían la vuelta o lo que ya conocemos sobre el tema y que sería más oscuro o por lo menos algo diferente sabiendo que Netflix dio luz verde a lo que se le ocurriera al equipo de desarrollo, escritores, etc., etc. y eso me desilusiono un poco ya que tenía la esperanza de que se volvieran locos.
Creo que mantuvieron casi todo bajo control para no herir fibras sensibles en algunos ya que si hubieran llegado al extremo de seguro a muchos no les hubiera gustado la serie. Esto es lo que me hace mucho ruido y es que si estaba en mente hacer algo de este estilo tenían que tener claro que es lago que a muchos no gustará y que sin duda hará que otros hablen de ellos con solo poner sobre la mesa el tema de los illuminati es más que suficiente para joderle la paciencia a muchos y despertar la curiosidad de millones. Más allá de todo esto la serie me gusto y no deje de reírme de inicio a fin ya que conocía donde me estaba metiendo.

The series does not try to make a call for attention or anything like that because it would be silly to think so, but what is clear to everyone is that the conspiracy theories are a topic that gives a lot of fabric to cut, no matter what you or I think about it, they certainly knew how to use it as a hook to catch the viewer's attention. I confess I thought they would turn it around or what we already know about the subject matter and it would be darker or at least something different knowing that Netflix gave the green light to whatever the development team, writers, etc., etc. came up with and that disappointed me a bit as I had hoped they would go crazy.
I think they kept almost everything under control so as not to hurt some people's heartstrings because if they had gone to the extreme I'm sure many would not have liked the series. This is what makes me a lot of noise and that is that if they had in mind to do something of this style they had to be clear that it is a lake that many will not like and that will certainly make others talk about them just by putting on the table the subject of the illuminati is more than enough to fuck the patience of many and arouse the curiosity of millions. Beyond all this, I liked the series and I didn't stop laughing from start to finish since I knew what I was getting into.

ACTORES Y SUS PERSONAJES
Wow cada personaje aquí tiene lo suyo y sin duda nos muestra ese lado de la sociedad que es asquerosamente rico con gustos raros y la infraestructura que solo podrías ver en tus mejores sueños. No te mencionaré todos los personajes por obvias razones, pero si te echaré el cuento de aquellos que más me gustaron.
Comencemos con Anthony Lansdowne (Mike Myers) este sin duda es el personaje que personifica o les da vida a las teorías conspiranoicas y que de seguro conecte con muchos espectadores amantes de este tema entre ellos estoy yo incluido y si señores llámenme loco, pero nadie me saca de la cabeza que WhatsApp escucha mis conversaciones. Dejando esto de lado me gusto que le dieran su lugar y que hasta el final lo mantuvieran ya que mantienen el ritmo de la situación y algo curioso es que una de las escenas finales existe un diálogo que contiene tanta verdad que da miedo y si ya lo vistes estas claro de lo que te digo.

ACTORS AND THEIR CHARACTERS
Wow every character here has their own thing and no doubt shows us that side of society that is filthy rich with weird tastes and infrastructure that you could only see in your best dreams. I won't mention all the characters for obvious reasons, but I will tell you about the ones I liked the most.
Let's start with Anthony Lansdowne (Mike Myers) this is undoubtedly the character that personifies or gives life to the conspiracy theories and surely connect with many viewers who love this topic among them I am included and yes gentlemen call me crazy, but no one gets me out of my head that WhatsApp listens to my conversations. Leaving this aside I liked that they gave it its place and that until the end they kept it since they maintain the rhythm of the situation and something curious is that one of the final scenes there is a dialogue that contains so much truth that is scary and if you already saw it you are clear of what I'm telling you.
Creo profundamente que el personaje Bruce Baldwin (Mike Myers) es lo más real y sincero de la serie y es que nos muestra la verdadera realidad en la que vivimos y ojo esta serie no intenta trasmitir un mensaje positivo o negativo eso no lo podemos olvidar, pero está claro que algo quieren decir y con este personaje sin duda que lo logran mucho. Una de las escenas que más me gustó es cuando está dentro de un avión y explica cómo el mundo funciona y aunque parezca una tontería ese diálogo la verdad es que te explota la cabeza si lo llevas a tu día a día.
La serie tiene muchos personajes con estilos únicos y super bizarro que puede sacarse de contexto y créeme esa es la intención de lo contrario esta serie tomaría una dirección que no sería nada positiva para ningún de nosotros sea bueno o malo ya que todo queda bajo la sombra de la sátira y lo que nosotros queramos entender.
¿LA RECOMIENDO?
De bolas que te la recomiendo es de esas cosas que deberías ver antes de morir y que cuando te topes con amigos lo uses como tema de conversación ya que no cabe duda de que te dará de qué hablar. Si eres de esos que no tiene paciencia y que el humor al estilo Austin Powers no lo digieres ni con una Coca Cola entonces no la veas ya que perderás tu tiempo de inicio a fin.
🎬 I deeply believe that the character Bruce Baldwin (Mike Myers) is the most real and sincere of the series and it shows us the true reality in which we live and watch this series does not try to convey a positive or negative message that we can not forget, but it is clear that they want to say something and with this character they certainly achieve it a lot. One of the scenes that I liked the most is when he is inside a plane and explains how the world works and although it seems silly that dialogue the truth is that it explodes your head if you take it to your day to day.
The series has many characters with unique and super bizarre styles that can take you out of context and believe me that is the intention otherwise this series would take a direction that would not be anything positive for any of us either good or bad as everything is under the shadow of satire and what we want to understand.
DO I RECOMMEND IT?
It is one of those things that you should see before you die and when you run into friends use it as a topic of conversation because there is no doubt that it will give you something to talk about. If you are one of those who have no patience and you can't even digest Austin Powers style humor with a Coca Cola then don't watch it because you will waste your time from start to finish.
Un amigo me preguntó si era necesario conocer un poco sobre alguna Sociedad Secreta para conectar con la trama y la verdad es que no es necesario ya que dejan un poco de lado eso y se van por otros caminos que tiene el mismo fin, pero no explotan lo suficiente ese recurso para darle forma a la serie. Señores y señoritas que me leen esta serie va de la mano del señor (Mike Myers) quien lo conoce ama y entiende su trabajo quien no solo se sentirá algo incomodo lo demás dependerá de ustedes.
🎬 A friend asked me if it was necessary to know a little bit about some Secret Society to connect with the plot and the truth is that it is not necessary since they leave that a little bit aside and go for other ways that have the same purpose, but they do not exploit enough that resource to give shape to the series. Today I just finished watching Mike Myers' new series, The Pentaverate, a bit of comedy to watch on Netflix.
I'm not a big fan of Mike Myers' work and I started watching The Pentaverate without any expectations, I just wanted to see something funny, something to have a laugh and smoke some flowers, nothing extravagant.

Hoy les cuento que termine de ver la nueva serie de Mike Myers, El Pentavirato, un poco de comedia para ver en Netflix.
No soy un gran fanático del trabajo de Mike Myers y comencé a ver El Pentavirato sin ninguna expectativa, solo quería ver algo divertido, algo para echar una risas y fumar unas flores, nada extravagante.
Y si, cumplió su objetivo, me divertí mucho ya que comparto el gusto por mirar videos de diferentes teorías de conspiración que giran en internet, no soy un extremista ni nada por el estilo, las teorías de conspiración son para mi como historias de ciencia ficción para otros, me divierte las cosas loquísimas que puede haber ahí afuera o que se le pueden ocurrir a la gente.

La verdad quedé un poco sorprendido por como han criticado la serie de Mike Myers, al estilo: odiosa, cruda, cara, poco divertida, etc, etc.
Convengamos que como se maneja Netflix eligiendo los libros o guiones de sus nuevas producciones se parece mucho al estilo Adam Neumann en WeCrashed, por cualquier producción por mas nefasta que sea se gastan millones de dólares, por que iba a ser este caso la excepción?
