   Hello, my dear cinephile friends, today I'm here again participating in the @cinetv contest, this time to talk about the best Westerns, and although this is not my favourite genre, I can't help but recognize that it is one of the most popular in Hollywood, so I decided to go for "The Quick and the Dead" from 1995 which I saw back then when I was ten years old and Leonardo Di Caprio was my platonic love 😍 😂

   Hola, mis queridos amigos cinéfilos, hoy estoy de nuevo por aquí participando en el concurso de @cinetv, en esta ocasión para hablar sobre los mejores Westerns, y a pesar de que este no es mi género favorito, no puedo dejar de reconocer que es uno de los más populares de Hollywood, así que me decidí por "The Quick and the Dead" de 1995 el cual vi en esa época cuando yo tenía diez años y Leonardo Di Caprio era mi amor platónico 😍 😂

   Overview/Resumen

   This film tells the story of Ellen, also known as "The Lady", who arrives in Redemption, a town in the far west governed by the tyrant John Herod, a despot and cruel man, who also organises a duel to the death tournament to choose the fastest and deadliest of all. Elle of course arrives with the intention of participating, despite the fact that almost everyone doubts her abilities because she is a woman.

   Esta película nos cuenta la historia de Ellen, también conocida como "La Dama" llega a Redemption, un pueblo del lejano oeste gobernado por el tirano John Herodes, un hombre déspota y cruel, quien además organiza un torneo de duelos a muerte para elegir al más rápido y mortal de todos, Elle desde luego llega con la intención de participar, a pesar de que casi todo el mundo duda de sus capacidades por ser una mujer.

   Wow! There are many things I love about this film, and one of them is that it's not just about a cruel mayor who rules a town with injustice, where everything is about challenging each other to a duel and that's it, but the story is deeper, Ellen has not come to town wanting to be the most popular or to gain prestige, she has a well defined purpose, she wants to avenge the death of her father, she wants the town to be free from the tyranny of John Herod. I hate this guy not only for everything he did, and I think the worst was getting Ellen to accidentally kill her father by trying to break the rope that was going to hang him with a bullet, but I also hate him because he won't admit that one of his former henchmen, Cort, is no longer evil, by becoming a preacher, so he tries to force him, by the same method of coercion he used with Ellen's father, to participate in the duels where he must obligatorily become a murderer or a victim, by the way, I must praise Gene Hackman's performance in the role of John Herod.

   ¡Wow! Hay muchas cosas que amo de este film y una de ellas es que no solo se trata de un alcalde cruel que gobierna un pueblo con injusticia, donde todo se trata de desafiarse a duelo y ya, sino que la historia es más profunda, Ellen no ha llegado al pueblo con ganas de ser la más popular o de ganar prestigio, ella tiene un propósito bien definido, quiere vengar la muerte de su padre, quiere que el pueblo quede libre de la tiranía de John Herod. A este tipo lo detesto no solo por todo lo que hizo, y creo que lo peor fue hacer que Ellen matara a su padre accidentalmente, tratando de romper con una bala, la cuerda que iba a ahorcarlo, también lo odio porque no admite que uno de sus antiguos secuaces, Cort haya dejado de ser malvado, convirtiéndose en predicador, así que intenta obligarlo, mediante el mismo método de coacción que usó con el padre de Ellen, para participar en los duelos donde deberá convertirse obligatoriamente en asesino o víctima, por cierto, debo alabar la actuación de Gene Hackman en el papel de John Herod.

   I loved Sharon Stone's performance in this role, as it gives her a new approach as a strong, bold and capable woman, beyond the simple attractive girl who tries to seduce others, as in "Basic Instinct" In fact, one of my favourite scenes in "The Quick and the Dead" is where Ellen proves her worth, and she doesn't do it for the purpose of bragging, despite John Herod's derogatory statement "women can't shoot" she does it to save Cort's life, otherwise he would have died by hanging, and this scene is also very important because after knowing her past and the way her father died, we can deduce that she was practising a lot to perfect that technique.

   Amé la actuación de Sharon Stone en este rol, ya que le da un nuevo enfoque de mujer fuerte, atrevida y capaz, más allá de la simple chica atractiva que intenta seducir a los demás, como en "Bajos Instintos" De hecho, una de mis escenas favoritas en "The Quick and the Dead" es donde Ellen demuestra su valía, y no lo hace con el objetivo de fanfarronear, a pesar de la afirmación despectiva de John Herod "las mujeres no saben disparar" ella lo hace para salvarle la vida a Cort, ya que de lo contrario hubiese muerto ahorcado, y esta escena a su vez tiene mucha importancia porque luego de conocer el pasado de ella y la forma en que murió su padre, podemos deducir que estuvo practicando muchísimo para perfeccionar esa técnica.

   I loved the performance of Leonardo Di Caprio, who had already demonstrated his great histrionic talent in his previous roles, in this case he shows us a cocky and arrogant boy, who believes he can surpass John Herod, and therefore unfortunately suffers the consequences, the scene of his death hurt me a lot, it was very well acted, there is no doubt that he is a great actor, it is impossible not to shudder when you hear "The Boy" lamenting and saying in tears "Please, I don't want to die" 😭.

   Me encantó la actuación de Leonardo Di Caprio, que ya había demostrado su gran talento histriónico en sus anteriores roles, en este caso nos muestra un muchacho ufano y arrogante, que cree que puede superar a John Herod, y por eso lamentablemente sufre las consecuencias, la escena de su muerte me dolió mucho, estuvo muy bien actuada, no cabe dudas de que él es un gran actor, es imposible no estremecerse cuando oyes a "El Chico" lamentarse y decir entre lágrimas "Por favor, no quiero morir" 😭.

   Although as I said, I don't usually like Westerns, I can't deny that I love this film for all the above mentioned, as it is out of the canon with respect to what we had always seen in old westerns, women relegated to be damsels in distress, here instead we see a different woman, strong, agile, determined, and despite making mistakes and not being perfect, feeling weak at some point and wanting to give up her purpose of revenge, she knew how to listen to the advice of a good friend and fill herself with courage to move forward.

   A pesar de que como dije, no suelen gustarme los Westerns, no puedo negar que esta película me encanta por todo lo antes mencionado, ya que se sale del canon con respecto a lo que siempre habíamos visto en películas del viejo oeste, las mujeres relegadas a ser damiselas en peligro, aquí en cambio vemos a una mujer diferente, fuerte ágil, decidida, y a pesar de cometer errores y no ser perfecta, de sentirse débil en algún punto y querer renunciar a su propósito de venganza, supo escuchar el consejo de un buen amigo y llenarse de valor para seguir adelante.

   Cinephiles who appreciate classic spaghetti westerns by Sergio Leone are likely to lament over such films not being made any more. The most obvious reason for that is that it is unlikely that any film maker would be able to precisely match grand talent and stylistic choices of great Italian director, so any attempt to make modern day Leoneosque spaghetti western is doomed to fail. The closest mainstream Hollywood came to it in past few decades is The Quick and the Dead, 1995 film directed by Sam Raimi.

   The plot takes place in small Old West town of Redemption around early 1880s and the protagonist, played by Sharon Stone, is Ellen a.k.a. “The Lady”, mysterious young woman who arrives before huge gunfighting competition organised by town’s corrupt and tyrannical “mayor” John Herod (played by Gene Hackman). Herod, who used to be violent outlaw before taking over the town and extorting his citizens, has a reputation of fast and efficient gunslinger and he has put hefty prize of 123,000 US$ for anyone who wins increasingly deadly competition. He intends to take part in competition himself thus not only maintaining his reputation, but also to eliminate any ambitious gunslinger who might be tempted to take him out in less favourable circumstances. The Lady also takes part in the competition and meets all kinds of colourful competitors. The one that catches her attention, however, actually doesn’t want to fight. It is Cort (played by Russsell Crowe), priest and former outlaw who used to ride with Herod, and now is imprisoned and forced to take part in competition against his will.

   The Quick and the Dead originated as script by British writer Stephen Moore (best known for lauded television mini-series Traffik), intended as clear homage to Leone’s Man With No Name trilogy with a big twist. Character played by Clint Eastwood in 1960s was in Moore’s version a woman. Moore’s script was taken by TriStar Pictures, big studio which insisted that such role should be played by big star, and one of the biggest female stars of early 1990s happened to be Sharon Stone. She enthusiastically accepted role and became film’s co-produced, apparently thrilled with the idea of experimenting with something new and discarding the image created by erotic thrillers that brought her fame and stardom. Stone played that role well, although some genre purists might consider her simply too beautiful to be credible as worn-down yet deadly Old West gunslinger. Stone, on the other hand, used her clout for casting decisions, most notably in case of young and still relatively unknown Leonardo DiCaprio (who plays over-ambitious and Herod’s alleged illegitimate son Kid) and Australian actor Russell Crowe in the role of Cort. Stone’s character in film has sex with both such characters. Stone, however, refused to film actual scene with DiCaprio (allegedly complaining that the audience would interpret is paedophilia). On the other hand, scene with Crowe was actually filmed and allowed Stone’s male fans to briefly glimpse her naked breasts. Those plot elements make The Quick and the Dead slightly unusual and give certain quirky and slightly feminist flavour to the film, but in the end they are unnecessary distraction. DiCaprio and Crowe, to their credit, play their roles well and Crowe in the end used this film as his big break into Hollywood. The rest of rather impressive cast is also more than solid, which includes Gene Hackman as main villain, although his role isn’t that different the one he had played in Unforgiven few years earlier. Hackman is easily overshadowed by small army of great character actors in minor roles, especially those playing colourful participants of gunslinging competitions, among which Lance Henriksen in the role of Ace Hanlon stands out as the most memorable.

   Sharon Stone also played crucial part in choosing the film director and thanks to her it was Sam Raimi, film maker at the time known mostly for low budget horror and science fiction with darkly humorous bent. Raimi couldn’t have competed with Sergio Leone and he later claimed that The Quick and the Dead wasn’t among the best efforts in his filmography. Thankfully, he was quite aware that he wasn’t Leone. He paid due homage to grand Italian master by employing various details that could be interpreted as fan service to cinephiles. That includes scene at the beginning in which veteran actor Woody Strode (playing his last role) play undertaker, character very much like the one introduced at the beginning of A Fistful of Dollars. Raimi is, however, more interested in making Sam Raimi’s film, and the film uses his very personal style with unusual and weird shots, especially in scenes of violence, that create often surreal atmosphere. The Quick and the Dead had large budget for this sort of film and it could been seen in town of Redemption being displayed through elaborate Arizona sets, plenty of authentic period details and production design by Patrizia von Brandenstein. This, together with cinematography by Dante Spinotti, makes this film one of the more visually impressive westerns of its time. Music score by Alan Silvestri, however, sounds a little bit more generic than brilliant and easily recognisable work of Ennio Morricone in Leone’s films.

   The Quick and the Dead seriously underperformed at the box office and was met by unenthusiastic reviews, thus putting the end to the mini-renaissance of Western in early 1990s Hollywood. While the genre survived and such films continued to be made to this day, few were as epic and ambitious as this one. From today’s perspective, The Quick and the Dead is, despite its obvious flaws, a very good film that could be appreciated by the fans of Westerns, whether spaghetti or more generic variety.

   Hola mis buenos muchachones y muchachonas de #hive que se unen a la lectura sobre la película del lejano oeste que recuerdo con mucha nostalgia y cariño en mi corazón para el concurso Western Movies that Moved You! cuyo tópico central es esa época en la que llevar pistola en la cintura y espuelas era algo que daba poder, respeto y gloria a esos hombres de verdad con sombrero, los vaqueros.

   Todo momento de la historia tiene su cara bonita pero también un lado oscuro y eran los crímenes que reinaban en los pueblos sin ley ya que a muchos les gustaba conseguir el dinero fácil lo cual lograban robando bancos, trenes y bares donde estos últimos eran el sitio de encuentro favorito para hombres muy peligrosos que buscaban una buena compañía para pasar la noche junto a su buena botella de alcohol y cigarro, la vida si que es bella.

   Hemos trasladado nuestra mente a una época maravillosa como también muy peligrosa para dejar sobre la mesa esa película del lejano oeste que mas recuerdo y se llama "The Quick and The Dead" dirigida por Sam Raimi y protagonizada por Sharon Stone, Gene Hackman, Leonardo DiCaprio y Russell Crowe. Para poder entrar con mas detalle con el objetivo de lograr expresarme en todo mi esplendor, hablare detalle a detalle sobre todas las escenas que llamaron mi atención, es a partir de acá que aconsejo por si se animan a ver la pelicular y evitar los spoilers, continuar leyendo bajo su propio riesgo porque voy con todo para disfrutar al máximo mientras hago esta bonita reseña.

   Hello my good boys and girls of #hive who join in reading about the Wild West movie that I remember with much nostalgia and fondness in my heart for the contest Western Movies that Moved You! whose central topic is that time when wearing a gun in the waist and spurs was something that gave power, respect and glory to those real men with hats, the cowboys.

   Every moment in history has its beautiful side but also a dark side and they were the crimes that reigned in the lawless towns as many liked to get easy money which they achieved by robbing banks, trains and bars where the latter were the favorite meeting place for very dangerous men who were looking for a good company to spend the night with a good bottle of alcohol and cigar, life is beautiful.

   We have moved our mind to a wonderful time as well as very dangerous to leave on the table that movie of the Wild West that I remember the most and is called "The Quick and The Dead" directed by Sam Raimi and starring Sharon Stone, Gene Hackman, Leonardo DiCaprio and Russell Crowe. In order to go into more detail with the aim of expressing myself in all my splendor, I will talk detail by detail about all the scenes that caught my attention, it is from here that I advise if you dare to see the movie and avoid spoilers, continue reading at your own risk because I go all out to enjoy the most while I do this nice review.

   Película estrenada en 1995, hago énfasis que la vi años después cuando se estreno en un canal de televisión nacional en mi país, era un adolescente y cuando doy un visionado a la película, tengo los recuerdos frescos como si fuera sido ayer, esos maravillosos duelos de pistola como verdaderos hombres a la vez que recuerdo una de las mujeres que en mi opinión tiene una presencia física, un rostro, un atuendo que lleva a la película hacia el infinito y mas allá, la preciosa Sharon Stone.

   En la trama se refleja como una mujer adelantada a su tiempo ya que debemos resaltar que la época en la que se ubica la película no es para nada tierna con el trato hacia la mujer pero se aprecia enormemente que esta película de un muy buen trato a una mujer que consigue las cosas no como regalo, las consigue con pistola en mano a pesar de su doloroso pasado.

   Una cantidad de personajes que se logra manejar de manera equilibrada, un villano que se impone totalmente durante toda la película logrando destruir el corazón de muchos personajes, incluidos los protagonistas que a pesar de su lucha, sus pensamientos y convicciones que pueden jugarles en contra en varios momentos de la película, no pueden escapar del concurso de duelos patrocinado por Jhon Herod y eje principal para el guión de la película.

   El torneo se desarrolla con muchos personajes siendo cuatro de ellos los principales, comencemos por las mujeres como debe ser, tenemos a "La Dama" que es una mujer de armas tomar, impone respeto ante cualquier maltrato, bebe tanto alcohol o mas que cualquier hombre, fuma su tabaco, atrae la mirada de todos con su belleza, mirada profunda, cabello abundante que hipnotiza, una habilidad con el arma sin igual que durante la película muestra sus encantos y nos llenara de gozo el verla en todo su esplendor.

   El siguiente en fila es "El Chico" con una personalidad encantadora, divertido como ninguno, con un discurso que convence a muchos teniendo el cariño de gran cantidad de personas en el pueblo, hijo del antagonista y que tratara de demostrarle que no tiene manos de granjero, su lucha es demostrar que es un vaquero.

   El malvado ser "Jhon Herod" impone su ley en el pueblo, la edad pasa pero Herod no pierde su habilidad como el gatillo mas rápido del oeste, tiene el pueblo bajo un yugo muy cruel en el que les quita la mitad de su dinero por supuesta protección, ama los duelos, es su razón para vivir y es quien establece un Torneo para ver quien es el gatillo mas rápido además de solventar un asunto personal con el predicador.

   Cort es el personaje que a pesar de tener una de las escenas mas dinámicas, lo considero es la debilidad de la película, es un cura que lucha por simplemente dar la palabra de dios pero en su alma es un vaquero y es muy constante en la película esta característica del personaje que choca mucho con su convicción de predicador ya que Herod se encargara de hacerle ver lo que en verdad es, un vaquero pero al ser tan maltratado durante toda la película, considero no logra brillar su personaje.

   Film released in 1995, I emphasize that I saw it years later when it was released on a national television channel in my country, I was a teenager and when I give a viewing to the film, I have fresh memories as if it were yesterday, those wonderful gun duels as real men while I remember one of the women who in my opinion has a physical presence, a face, an outfit that takes the film to infinity and beyond, the beautiful Sharon Stone.

   In the plot is reflected as a woman ahead of her time as we must emphasize that the era in which the film is set is not at all tender with the treatment of women but it is greatly appreciated that this film is a very good treatment of a woman who gets things not as a gift, gets them with gun in hand despite his painful past.

   A number of characters that is managed to handle in a balanced way, a villain that is totally imposed throughout the film managing to destroy the hearts of many characters, including the protagonists that despite their struggle, their thoughts and convictions that can play against them at various times in the film, can not escape the dueling contest sponsored by Jhon Herod and main axis for the script of the film.

   The tournament is developed with many characters being four of them the main ones, let's start with the women as it should be, we have "The Lady" who is a woman of weapons to take, imposes respect to any mistreatment, drinks as much alcohol or more than any man, smokes his tobacco, attracts the gaze of all with her beauty, deep look, abundant hair that hypnotizes, a skill with the weapon without equal that during the film shows its charms and fill us with joy to see her in all its splendor.

   The next in line is "El Chico" with a charming personality, funny like no other, with a speech that convinces many having the affection of many people in the town, son of the antagonist and who will try to prove that he has no hands of a farmer, his struggle is to prove that he is a cowboy.

   The evil being "John Herod" imposes his law in the town, the age passes but Herod does not lose his ability as the fastest trigger of the west, he has the town under a very cruel yoke in which he takes away half of their money for supposed protection, he loves duels, it is his reason to live and is the one who establishes a tournament to see who is the fastest trigger in addition to settling a personal matter with the preacher.

   Cort is the character that despite having one of the most dynamic scenes, I consider him to be the weakness of the film, he is a priest who fights for simply giving the word of God but in his soul he is a cowboy and it is very constant in the film this characteristic of the character that clashes a lot with his conviction of preacher since Herod will be in charge of making him see what he really is, a cowboy but to be so mistreated throughout the film, I consider his character fails to shine.

   Ya con los personajes establecidos, vamos a evaluar la trama que envuelve a esta película del lejano oeste. La dama tiene un grave conflicto interno ya que de niña ella vivía en el pueblo que ahora es gobernado con puño de hierro por Herod, hace años el Marshal del pueblo Redención es despiadadamente amarrado a la ahorca donde Herod en unos de sus juegos despiadados le dice a la niña "Si le das un tiro a la soga, tu papa es libre, tienes mi palabra", la pobre pequeña recibe el arma de Herod y bajo la voz de su padre que le alienta a hacer el disparo termina dando fin a la vida del Marshal con un impacto en la frente de su amado padre, todo esto sucede bajo las risas y plena diversión del malvado Herod.

   Este es un elemento importante en la película porque da la razón de ser a que La Dama entre en el torneo, venganza por la muerte de su padre pero el momento que observamos esta historia ya es muy al final y se mezcla con eventos que darán fin a Herod haciendo que pierda mucha relevancia por ser una información que llega de manera tardía.

   Pienso se debió colocar esta escena al inicio de este film para así tener bien claros los objetivos de La Dama porque este acontecimiento no es el centro de la película y tampoco su climax ya que se lleva dos arcos de tres en la película planteando que ella odia a Herod por algo del pasado que entre tantos personajes y buenas escenas, termina perdiendo impacto en el espectador ya que solo queremos ver como finalizan los duelos y quien queda en pie al final del día.

   La Dama es una mujer que con su presencia se lleva las miradas de todos estos asquerosos sujetos con dientes podridos y de oro que solo buscan diversión en el bar, uno de ellos, el mas desagradable de todos llamado Eugene Dred tiene una trama donde se quiere aprovechar de una niña dándole joyas para un supuesto trabajo siendo su plan verdadero el tomar a la niña y hacerla suya para luego robarle todas las joyas que le había dado, esto La Dama no lo tolero haciendo despliegue de su coraje y amor por la justicia que en su corazón ha heredado de su padre el Marshal así como también la bondad ya que a pesar de todo el mal que ha hecho el desagradable sujeto, no puede matarle, eso si, destruye su órgano reproductor de un disparo y pienso esto es suficiente venganza, sin embargo, el desagradable sujeto se levanta a pesar de que le han perdonado la vida e intenta asesinar a nuestra protagonista haciendo que la dama tenga que dar un disparo mortal, es su primera asesinato.

   En esta parte tengo un punto a criticar y es el hecho de que La Dama quiere eliminar a Herod, muchachona como lo vas a hacer si estas dudando durante toda la película, pienso tenía que tener la convicción desde un inicio ya que Herod es un hombre con experiencia, el vaquero definitivo y poder creer que la dama le pueda vencer sin tener un propósito que a la hora de la verdad no le haga dudar, cuesta aceptarlo en la película, de igual manera disfrute mucho como elimino de un balazo la hombría de Eugene.

   With the characters established, let's evaluate the plot of this Wild West movie. The lady has a serious internal conflict because as a child she lived in the town that is now ruled with an iron fist by Herod, years ago the Marshal of the town Redemption is ruthlessly tied to the gallows where Herod in one of his ruthless games tells the girl "If you give a shot to the rope, the poor little girl receives Herod's gun and under the voice of her father who encourages her to make the shot ends up ending the life of the Marshal with an impact on the forehead of her beloved father, all this happens under the laughter and full amusement of the evil Herod.

   This is an important element in the film because it gives the reason for The Lady to enter the tournament, revenge for the death of his father but the time we see this story is already very late and is mixed with events that will end Herod making it lose much relevance because it is information that comes too late.

   I think this scene should have been placed at the beginning of this film in order to have clear objectives of The Lady because this event is not the center of the film and neither its climax since it takes two arcs of three in the film, showing that she hates Herod for something from the past that among so many characters and good scenes, ends up losing impact on the viewer because we only want to see how the duels end and who is left standing at the end of the day.

   In this part I have a point to criticize and it is the fact that The Lady wants to eliminate Herod, girl how are you going to do it if you are doubting during the whole movie, I think she had to have the conviction from the beginning since Herod is a man with experience, the ultimate cowboy and to believe that the lady can beat him without having a purpose that at the moment of truth does not make him doubt, it is hard to accept it in the film, anyway I really enjoyed how she eliminated Eugene's manhood with a bullet.

   Vamos con el personaje que en la película me sorprende por la carga dramática que envuelve y es "The Kid", el muchacho es hijo de Herod, definitivamente es así porque la herencia no se puede negar y la habilidad que tiene el muchacho para los duelos definitivamente viene de su padre, lamentablemente Herod jamás reconocerá al muchacho como su hijo y le maltratara psicológicamente durante todo el film, hay una escena en la tienda de armas donde the kid vende sus pistolas, es todo un experto, Herod se encuentra en el sitio para comprarle un arma al predicador, mientras hacen las negociaciones y la muestra de las distintas armas en venta, Herod le dice al muchacho con todo el desprecio y soberbia que coloque las manos sobre la vitrina, el muchacho las coloca y luego Herod le muestra sus manos y le dice "Estas son las manos de un verdadero vaquero... las tuyas son las de un granjero", línea de diálogo que impacta en la psiquis del espectador y crea empatía inmediata con the kid.

   El muchacho también es la picardía en carne viva, un carisma envidiable acompañado de un habla que a pesar de su muy temprana edad logra envolver con alegría y ánimo al pueblo de Redención, también es un casanova que al ver a la preciosa Dama hace sus intentos de cortejo con palabras acompañado de un toque directo de su mano sobre el muslo de nuestra protagonista, escena que me ha gustado porque como me podía reír al ver esto, pensé La Dama le rechazaría pero para mi sorpresa la muchachona toma la iniciativa y a la final quien manda en este momento de cortejo y termina dándole fin es ella con una preciosa escena donde vemos el precioso cuerpo en sus ropas de vaquera a La Dama en la cama del muchacho mientras The Kid muestra una sonrisa de oreja a oreja, sinceramente y esto hay que decirlo, yo también tendría esa sonrisa si fuera el.

   El muchacho vive la vida al máximo creando mucha simpatía con todos los personajes, esto nos lleva a la mejor escena de la película que es el momento del duelo con Herod, hay que mencionar algo importante, Herod a pesar de ser el mal en persona, tiene cierto cariño por The Kid y le dice que abandone a pesar de que herod para este momento ya había fijado la regla de que gana el duelo quien vive, el otro debe morir y esto indica mucho del villano en nuestra historia ya que refleja que en su frío corazón, el al menos no quiere matar al muchacho.

   The Kid no aprovecha la oportunidad, le gana el ego y la juventud al entrar en desafío sin importar las consecuencias, realiza un discurso antes de la campanada del reloj donde dice que el poder que tiene Herod viene dado por el miedo, todo esta en la mente, controlando el pensamiento podrás ser mas rápido que Herod al mismo momento que plantea que el tiempo es implacable y ya Herod no es tan veloz como era antes, ya esta viejo y que el esta en la flor de la juventud. Pienso el muchacho es mas rápido pero ese primer elemento, el factor pensamiento esta dominado totalmente por Herod, esto lo notamos de la escena donde lo humilla en la venta de armas al decirle que es un granjero.

   Comienza el duelo y todo termina en menos de un abrir y cerrar de ojos, Herod es herido en el rostro pero the kid es quien se lleva la peor parte al ser herido mortalmente en el estomago dando a luz a la escena con mejor carga dramática en la película, mis felicitaciones al actor, es definitivamente estos momentos donde vemos el brillar del gran actor que es hoy, el muchacho llora al darse cuenta que va a morir, La Dama trata de ayudarle, es inevitable su pronto fallecimiento pero esto no es lo que mas pesa en su alma, sufre en el suelo, reúne energías y extiende su mano para tratar de alcanzar a su padre, el quiere su reconocimiento y lo que obtiene son las peores ultimas palabras que escuchara en vida, Herod le dice "Definitivamente no eres mi hijo, eres el hijo de un granjero", the kid escucha las crueles palabras de su padre, una lágrima cae de su rostro y fallece. Mis aplausos totales a esta escena mis buenos muchachones de #hive donde se me eriza la piel al ver como una película tan dinámica pudo llevarme a un momento tan emocional, the kid si que fuiste un buen muchacho y viviste tu vida al máximo como si no hubiera mañana.

   The Kid lives life to the fullest creating a lot of sympathy with all the characters, this leads us to the best scene of the movie which is the moment of the duel with Herod, we must mention something important, Herod despite being evil in person, has some affection for The Kid and tells him to leave even though Herod by this time had already set the rule that the duel who lives wins, the other must die and this indicates a lot about the villain in our story as it reflects that in his cold heart, he at least does not want to kill the boy.

   The Kid does not take advantage of the opportunity, he is overcome by ego and youth when he enters into a challenge without caring about the consequences, he makes a speech before the chime of the clock where he says that the power that Herod has is given by fear, everything is in the mind, controlling the thought you can be faster than Herod at the same time he states that time is relentless and Herod is not as fast as he was before, he is already old and he is in the prime of his youth. I think the boy is faster but that first element, the thinking factor is totally dominated by Herod, we notice this from the scene where he humiliates him in the sale of weapons by telling him that he is a farmer.

   The duel begins and everything ends in less than a blink of an eye, Herod is wounded in the face but the kid is the one who takes the worst part by being mortally wounded in the stomach giving birth to the scene with the best dramatic charge in the film, my compliments to the actor, it is definitely these moments where we see the brilliance of the great actor he is today, the boy cries when he realizes he is going to die, The Lady tries to help him, his soon death is inevitable but this is not what weighs most on his soul, he suffers on the ground, he gathers energy and extends his hand to try to reach his father, he wants his recognition and what he gets are the worst last words he will hear in life, Herod tells him "You are definitely not my son, you are the son of a farmer", the kid listens to the cruel words of his father, a tear falls from his face and he dies. My total applause to this scene my good #hive guys where my skin crawls to see how such a dynamic movie could take me to such an emotional moment, the kid if you were a good boy and lived your life to the fullest as if there was no tomorrow.

   Herod villano del cual ya hemos mencionado distintas escenas que marcan a La Dama y a The Kid pero su trama no ira en torno a ellos, el realiza este torneo para poder enfrentarse en duelo con el predicador, este último un aprendiz que el adopto por las habilidades naturales que posee el cura.

   Pienso esta es la trama mas débil de todas las presentadas porque el predicador es muy humillado haciendo que pierda un poco de respeto por el a pesar de tener muy buenas escenas al enfrentarse a caballo sin manchas donde el que brilla es el mestizo, un indio que de verdad llego a creer en un momento de la película que es inmune a las balas, el predicador no falla y pienso logra durante el duelo impactar en su corazón pero el caballo sin manchas se levanta nuevamente, parece un terminator y no es hasta dar un tiro certero en la frente del indio que este perece, no sin antes levantar su pistola con su ultimo aliento.

   El trauma que tiene el predicador es porque hace un tiempo un cura les ayudo tanto a el como a Herod y es este último que con sus juegos crueles le dice a Cort que le dispare al cura, esto lo comenta y es una escena que suena bien pero necesito mas de ella y no logra crear en mi algín lazo con el personaje mas allá de tener muy buenas escenas rompiendo narices y matando a caballo sin manchas durante el duelo.

   Si tengo que destacar que hace equipo con La Dama para poder vencer a Herod con una muy buena secuencia de explosiones pero sigo pensando que Herod les ganaba a ambos y de hecho en el duelo con the kid, se debió aprovechar la herida y que no fuera solo superficial, que tuviera un poco mas de daño en el villano para así yo como espectador poder aceptar esta resolución de la trama para eliminar al villano con la dinamita donde dormía the kid.

   Pero el predicador es otro buen muchacho que también es tomado por La Dama, nuestra muchachona es una empoderada, a ella no la toman, ella es la que toma a sus hombres, hace el amor con el predicador mientras este dice cosas de la biblia pero a la final al ver el cuerpo desnudo de La Dama, el pecado hace el llamado y definitivamente es uno del que no se puede escapar, Sharon Stone te amo, de verdad que es una mujer preciosa en todo aspecto, su presencia su look ayuda a llevar la atmósfera de la película a otro nivel.

   No podemos finalizar esto sin una buena puntuación, mi personaje favorito es La Dama, Sharon Stone por siempre pero muy de cerca The Kid con su trama dramática, un predicador que tiene buenas escenas y un villano que deja cicatrices en todos con su maldad y soberbia, le vamos a dar ocho chiquitos de diez, quien era chiquito pues chiquito era mi perrita que se llamaba princesa pero le decíamos chiquito, bonita película que me llena de nostalgia al haberla vuelto a ver y recordar mis tiempos de adolescencia donde disfrutaba totalmente del aspecto físico de Sharon Stone.
