Saludos para todos los amantes del buen cine, me alegra compartir con ustedes un film dramático que considero es muy bueno, por tratar temas familiares reales, la película se llama “El Hijo”, y fue estrenada el año pasado en el “Venice Festival”, cautivo mi atención verla, ya que su Director es Florian Zeller, el mismo de "El Padre", la cual fue una película que me gusto también, por toda esa carga emocional que nos tiene acostumbrado este director, acá podemos ver una gran calidad escénica por parte de sus personajes principales, entre los que se destacan: Hugh Jackman (el padre), Laura Dern (la madre) y Zen McGrath (el hijo); este film fue nominado en la categoría de "Mejor Película" en el Venice Festival, y con Hugh Hackman nominado también en la categoría de "Mejor Actor Dramático" en los Golden Globes y Satelitte Awards.

Esta película nos narra la historia de un adolescente universitario, que se encuentra sumido en una fuerte depresión, por lo que su vida empieza a afectarse en sus estudios, relaciones personales y familiares; se destaca el divorcio de sus padres, y la nueva relación de su papá que se muda con otra mujer naciendo un nuevo hermanito. Considero que ésta película es muy interesante, ya que nos trae un tema de suma relevancia para los que somos padres, en cuanto a situaciones reales que podemos vivir o experimentar en la familia, nos hace reflexionar sobre la importancia que tiene la comunicación con los hijos, cuando en las familias suceden situaciones de cambios como divorcios, muertes, mudanzas, cambio de escuela, o cualquier otro evento que pueda impactar sobre la vida emocional de nuestros hijos, es necesario conocer cómo se sienten al respecto de estos cambios, y más aún cuando son adolescentes que tienen consigo una carga hormonal adicional que los abruma.
Hugh Hackman en su rol de Peter al igual que Laura Dern como Kate, en mi opinión tuvieron una actuación impecable, ya que demostraron muy bien su angustia y desesperación cuando hablaban con su hijo, igualmente en las escenas entre ellos como típica pareja ya divorciada teniendo que dejar de lado sus reproches y diferencias por buscar el bienestar de su hijo Nicholas, con relación con el joven actor Zen McGrath interpretando a Nicholas, aunque no tuvo el mismo nivel de actuación que sus padres y quedo un poco rezagado su personaje, logro trasmitir esa apatía, desgano y confusión que tienen los jóvenes que sufren de depresión.

I believe that this is a very interesting film, since it brings us a very relevant topic for those of us who are parents, in terms of real situations, that we can live or experience in the family, it makes us reflect on the importance of communication with our children, when situations of change happen in families such as divorce, death, moving, change of school, or any other event that impacts on the emotional life of our children, it's necessary to know how they feel about these changes, especially when they are teenagers, who have an additional hormonal load that overwhelms them.
Hugh Hackman in his role as Peter, as well as Laura Dern as Kate, in my opinion had an impeccable performance, as they showed very well their anguish and despair when talking to their son, also in the scenes between them as a typical divorced couple, having to put aside their reproaches and differences to seek the welfare of their son Nicholas, In relation to the young actor Zen McGrath playing Nicholas, although he did not have the same level of performance as his parents and his character was a little behind, he managed to convey that apathy, reluctance and confusion that young people who is suffering from depression have.
Esta película puedes llegar a amarla desde el principio, si logras identificarte con las situaciones aquí plasmadas, a mí en lo particular me conmovió mucho el recuerdo y la añoranza, que sentia Nicholas por la relación tan cercana que tenía con su padre cuando era chiquito, y ahora todo en su familia era muy diferente.
