  1. The Valhalla Murders review (Netflix original series)@unbiasedwriter1887d

Earlier this year, I watched the Icelandic TV series Trapped (2 seasons). A third season is on the way. Somehow, I really enjoyed it, and as I read about The Valhalla Murders, another Netflix original series from Iceland, I decided to give it a try.

The Valhalla Murders is a limited series, only consisting of one season and 7 or 8 episodes (don't remember exactly right now). Is it worth watching? Keep on reading!

What is The Valhalla Murders about?

A murder has just happened in Iceland. The police is investigating, and when a second body shows up, they see a pattern and have to do a very thorough and detailed investigation. Several threads point in the direction of Valhalla, a place for troublesome boys that existed some years back in time.

As they investigate, they learn about terrible things that happened in Valhalla, and now they have to find out who did them, how they were allowed to do them, and why nobody has gone after them since then!

There are two main detectives, Kata and Amar. The latter has returned from Oslo for this special task, and Kata is the lady you can see in the picture above. Kata has a nice personality, while Amar is this depressed, hard to interact with kind of guy. But, their relationship gets better throughout the episodes, and in the end, they are working well together. Neither of them makes an extraordinary role, but all in all, they do their jobs very well of playing the two main detectives.

Is The Valhalla Murders worth watching?

To be honest, it might not have been as interesting as Trapped, but still - way more interesting than quite a lot of flat and boring crime series. If I would compare it with the Luxembourg crime series Capitani, I would much rather recommend this one. But, compared with Trapped or the Swedish series Caliphate (which I am currently watching), I would say that it doesn't exactly win the battle.

The intensity increases with every episode, and it reaches the top in the final episode. In other words, it has a good structure and it is successful in keeping the interest of the viewers.

It isn't the best show ever, but I would personally grade it as somewhere between great and average (that might be "good").

    What is the conclusion?

The Valhalla Murders is great for those in love with the Scandinavian crime series. It isn't as good as the best series like The Bridge (Broen), Trapped, Caliphate, and some others, but it is doing a great job filling a void and giving entertainment to those who like this genre.

My The Valhalla Murders score: 6.5/10

  2. Reseña de la serie "The Valhalla Murders"@vickaboleyn2113d

    Ojo: Puede contener spoilers.
