Today I bring a film not so new. But as I am in love with films related to time / space travel I could not comment on this one.

When we think about time travel films, many people remember the classics and especially Back to the Future (Which, by the way, is one of my favorite films, not because of the way of representing time travel, but because it is the film that turns me on love this kind of theme), Butterfly Effect and so on. There are many films that deal with time travel in several different ways, whether in simple or more complex situations, be it drama, adventure, comedy films. There is a taste for everything and I like everyone. And every time I go to watch a movie like that I stay attentive to the details, and especially what it is that makes them "travel in time". And one of those films that showed a different way about "time" was what I bring today.

What would you do if you found a camera that takes Polaroid photos in the future? More precisely 24h in the future? And exactly always at 8 pm? That's what the film will show with 3 friends who live together in an apartment complex.

And although the film is low budget using much of the time in the same scenario, he manages to mess with his brain with the way they advance in the story by always seeing the new picture of their future. It is a beautiful example of a film that shows that a good idea and well demonstrated, you do not need mega productions and a high budget for this. Time Lapse is simple in this regard but of the message.

The way 3 people think differently about using the same thing is shown to be strong and this will create all "future" events.

Hoje eu trago um filme não tão novo assim. Mas como sou apaixonado por filmes relacionados a viagem no tempo/espaço eu não podia de comentar sobre esse.

Quando pensamos sobre filmes de viagens no tempo, muitas pessoas lembram dos clássicos e principalmente De Volta Para o Futuro (Que aliás, é um dos meus filmes preferidos, não pela maneira de representar a viagem no tempo, mas por ser o filme que me vez adorar esse tipo de tema), Efeito Borboleta e por aí vai. Existe muitos filmes que tratam viagens no tempo de diversas maneiras diferentes, sejam em situações simples ou mais complexas, seja filmes de drama, aventura, comédia. Existe um gosto para tudo e eu gosto de todos. E toda vez que eu vou assistir um filme assim eu fico atento aos detalhes, e principalmente o que é que faz eles "viajarem no tempo". E um desses filmes que mostrou uma maneira diferente sobre "tempo" foi o que eu trago hoje.

E apesar do filme ser de baixo orçamento usando boa parte do tempo um mesmo cenário ele consegue mexer com seu cérebro com a maneira que eles avançam na história ao ver sempre a foto nova do futuro deles. É um belo exemplo de filme que mostra que uma boa ideia e bem demonstrada, você não precisa de mega produções e um orçamento alto para isso. Time Lapse é simples nesse quesito mas da conta do recado.

A maneira como 3 pessoas pensam diferente em usar uma mesma coisa se mostra forte e isso irá criar todos os acontecimentos "futuros".

Para você que adora filmes de viagem no tempo assim como eu e ainda não assistiu.. "Corre! que ainda da tempo" haha

I do not remember who recommended this movie, because for some reason I did not write it down, however, I decided to see it still, if someone had recommended it to me then I had to see it, and I did, and so... how was it? well, I will say that because there were no expectations, the film seemed acceptable to me, as well as entertaining.

Plot

The film tells the story of a group of friends who discover a machine that can take pictures of things 24 hours into the future, causing increasingly complex causal loops.

Opinion

Finn, a frustrated young painter, lives with his girlfriend Callie, and his friend Jasper, a gambling fan, in an apartment complex where he works as a manager, when Big Joe, the ecurity guard, informs him that Mr. Bezzerides has not paid the rent in a month, Callie decides to go into his apartment to see if something has happened to him, in doing she discovers something very curious, so it is later accompanied by Finn and Jasper.

In the apartment of Mr. Bezzerides they find a strange machine that takes polaroid photos, along with many of them hanging on the wall, and later, after a rather dubious group analysis, they come to the conclusion that the machine takes pictures that shows 24 hours in the future the place where it is focused, which in this case is through the window of Finn's apartment.

Shortly after, Finn, Callie and Jasper discover that Mr. Bezzerides has died and his body is in decomposition, something that does not worry too much the protagonists now seduced by the magic of the machine they have found and that motivates them to use it to win in bets.

With the help of the machine Finn will find inspiration for his paintings, Callie will improve his relationship with Finn, and Jasper wins in the bets, so everything starts to go very well, however, the side effects will not be long in coming, in a certain way the death of Mr. Bezzerides supposes that he behaved in a different way to that dictated by the photos, which means that now they become prisoners of the photos, which will have very bad results.

The film is very low budget, practically the scenario in which the plot unfolds is small, I guess that having a single stage was a fundamental reason for the director decided to make the camera had a considerable size and that was fastened to the ground, so that everything revolves around it and thus justify the fact that everything is developed in one place.

The performances are not bad, but you can see that they are amateur, the same with the direction of Bradley King, however, both the actors and the director manage to make the work maintain an acceptable level and in a certain way they also manage to generate a sensation of intrigue in the viewer, without mentioning the final twist which despite being little credible takes anyone by surprise.

In short, it is a film that can be seen quietly, but I recommend it especially to those who like movies about time travel, for others, you can abstain if you wish. If you live in France or Canada you can find it available in the Netflix catalog at the date of publication of this review.
