Trilogy of Terror is a 1975 film that struck me as a franchise the first time I saw it, but boy was I wrong, haha 😅😅—since I was pleasantly surprised to discover that it’s actually three stories in a single, average-length film focused on horror, starring Karen Black, who drove her Native Savage knife right into my cinephile heart with her diverse performances that span a spectrum ranging from the foolish, innocent victim to the monstrous psychopath you see in the thumbnail 😈😈
That’s why the actresses I admire the most are the Scream Queens—those womans who shatter our eardrums with their screams of horror in most of the stories that unfold. I think they’re actresses who have to work much harder because they have to step out of their feminine comfort zone of sweetness and love to navigate a narrative genre that, by its very nature, is more physical, violent, and masculine—like horror. 😱 😱

Trilogy of Terror es un film de 1975 que me sono a franquicia la primera vez que la vi pero vaya que estaba equivocado jaja 😅😅 ya que gratamente me sorprendio ver que en realidad son tres historias en una sola pelicula de duracion promedio enfocada en el Terror, protagonizada por Karen Black que clavo su cuchillo de Bestia Nativa Salvaje en mi corazon cinefilo con sus diversas actuaciones que se pasean en un espectro que va desde la victima tonta e inocente hasta la psicopata monstruosa que ven en la miniatura 😈😈
Por eso a quienes mas tengo en un pedestal es a las Scream Queens, esas actrices que destruyen nuestros timpanos con sus gritos de horror en la mayoria de historias que se desenvuelven, pienso que ellas son actrices que se deben esforzar mucho mas ya que deben salir de su zona de confort femenina de dulce y amor para desenvolverse en un genero narrativo que como tal es mas fisico, violento y masculino como el terror 😱 😱

Es adictivo ver a esta mujer ser una Scream Queen que se pasea entre los extremos opuestos de las sensaciones, solo vean la pose que tiene en la miniatura para una de las tres escenas climaX en la pelicula, su mirada, sus dientes, oye de verdad para mi la mujer parece un ser endemoniado junto a la manera en que toma su cuchillo.... Karen Black domina El Estilo Terror que se apodera de toda la atencion de la camara y el espectador 🤩🤩
My only criticism of the movie is that the rest of the actors are just there to fill in, haha 😂😂—at least that’s true of the living characters, because as for the undead, there was one: the doll. That character really complemented Karen well by bringing a wild, lethal, and claustrophobic dynamic to the film; it reminded me a lot of Chucky from that classic first movie—and we have to keep in mind that this is a 1975 film.... This film could easily have inspired Chucky in one way or another; these are things I think about and bring up because I don’t see it as far-fetched 🤔🤔
But despite that wild and dynamic climax, I really appreciated the other two stories for their psychological approaches—one of which vividly reminded me of Split with James McAvoy, the conflict between those multiple personalities, which I’m a huge fan of, since if they’re completely opposite personalities… things can end very badly for one of them 😱😱
It’s true that the cherry on top for the film is that story about the doll—it’s mind-blowing—but the film offers so much more than that, especially for audiences who enjoy Psycho-style narratives. If you’ve seen it, you’ll understand what I mean; this film has exactly that insane, murderous appeal, thanks to Scream Queen Kate Black 🔪🔪
Mi unica critica al film es que el resto de actores estan solo para rellenar jaja 😂😂, al menos refiriendome a los vivos es así porque en el caso de los no vivos si hubo uno, el muñeco, ese personaje si que complemento muy bien a Karen al darle una dinamica salvaje, letal y claustrofobica, me recordo mucho a Chucky, ese clasico primer film en donde hay que valorar que esta es una pelicula de 1975.... Facilmente este film pudo inspirar en una u otra manera a Chucky, son cosas que pienso y las planteo porque no lo veo descabellado 🤔🤔
Pero a pesar de ese climax salvaje y dinamico, valore mucho las otras dos historias por sus planteamientos psicologicos donde una de ellas me recordo vivamente a Split con James Mackavoy, el conflicto de esas personalidades multiples del cual soy muy fan ya que si son personalidades completamente opuestas.... Las cosas pueden terminar muy mal para una de ellas 😱😱
Si es verdad que la cereza del pastel para el film es esa historia del muñeco, es alucinante, pero el film ofrece mucho mas que eso, sobre todo para aquella audiencia que le gustan narrativas tipo Psicosis, si la han visto me entenderan, este film tiene justo ese atractivo demente y asesino a traves de la Scream Queen Kate Black 🔪🔪
