Currently, thanks to streaming platforms, we are invaded by American television series, some very good, and others not so good. As a Latin American, I have grown up with them, but thanks to these same platforms, I have been discovering, and gradually getting used to, series produced in other parts of the world, many of them of great quality.
A couple of years ago, a spanish series titled "Under Suspicion" appeared in Netflix's suggestions, and I was encouraged to watch it for two reasons: it only had 8 episodes, and it was going to be removed from the platform in a short time. Today it is no longer in the Latin American option of Netflix, but it may be available in other latitudes on the same platform, or on another.
To be honest, at first I had my doubts about the series. In the first episode, when a girl disappears during her first communion, a fact that begins the story, there was a shot in which practically everyone who was at the party was shown in suspicious attitudes, and in scenes that bordered on overacting.

However, I decided to give the series a chance, and now, seeing it from a distance, I see that it was the right decision, since the series goes from less to more, episode by episode, and although at first the performances did not convince me, In the end I must admit that some of them are really good, seeing the series as a whole.
The story focuses on the disappearance of the girl from her first communion, and given the circumstances of the event, the initial suspects are the members of the family.
To solve it, the police infiltrate a couple of agents who had never worked together, and who are opposites in many aspects, such as a married couple who have just moved to town, and who coincidentally rent the house located right in front of the house of the missing girl.
The female agent goes to work at the school where the girl studied, and becomes her brother's teacher and one of her cousins, and the male agent ends up working as a waiter in the family restaurant. This allows the agents to interact relatively easily with all the members of the girl's family, and from there they can carry out an investigation parallel to the one carried out by the local police.

The production values of the series are good, and the story is very interesting, since at every moment facts are revealed that change everything, and keeps you not knowing what to think. At the same time, and intertwined with the investigation, we are shown the secrets of all the members of the family, some of them without impact on the investigation, but most of them decisive in the course of it.
In the end, one does not know whether to be surprised by the mysterious and inexplicable disappearance, or by the unexpected and even disturbing family secrets, which gives an additional layer of depth to the story, and allows the actors to further develop their abilities, resulting in more complex and interesting characters.
Near the end one can guess who may be to blame for the disappearance, but given the development of the story, and the turns it has taken, one is never really sure, and despite being sure, it is very difficult to understand why, until reaching the end of the series.

This is an interesting series, well done and that does not disappoint; and it is an excellent option if you are looking for something different in which to invest an hour of your free time.
Given the success of the first season, a second season was made, which was also on Netflix, but it was not as successful as the first, at least in Spain, although it is also an interesting option if you liked the first, and/or you are a fan of this type of content.
