Welcome my dear internet bear travelers and thank you very much for having made a temporary stop in my post, I am a big fan of animation of all kinds, that is why when a cousin recommended the film “Unicorn Wars” to me I couldn't resist due to which came with the comment that it was a film that was going to contain things that I would not expect, with all this said it was more than evident that I had to give it a chance as soon as I could. Without further ado, get ready to see a confrontation between care bears and unicorns because we are about to begin.
Bienvenidos mis queridos viajeros osos del internet y muchas gracias por haber hecho una parada temporal en mi post, soy muy fanático de la animación de todo tipo, es por ello que cuando un primo me recomendó el filme “Unicorn Wars” no pude resistirme debido a que vino con el comentario de que era una cinta que iba a contener cosas que no me esperaría, con todo esto dicho era más que evidente que tenía que darle una oportunidad apenas pudiese. Sin más que agregar prepárense para ver un enfrentamiento entre osos cariñosos y unicornios pues estamos por comenzar.

Unicorn Wars is a Spanish-French film released in 2022, directed by Alberto Vázquez Rico, produced by Abano Produciones, Uniko, among others, and has a duration of 1 hour and 20 minutes. It is an animated war fantasy film, the story takes place in a magical forest in which different species coexisted in harmony, including unicorns and bears. Es una cinta animada de fantasía bélica, la historia se desarrolla en un bosque mágico en el cual convivían en armonía diferentes especies dentro de las cuales están los unicornios y los osos, el problema surge cuando estos últimos consiguieron leer el libro sagrado que les dotó de consciencia por lo que formaron una civilización, su evolución los transformo en osos de peluche y con ello vino la destrucción progresiva del bosque, acto que los unicornios no permitirían como protectores del mismo, como represalia los expulsaron de aquel idílico lugar, razón por la que los osos se llenaron de rencor y decidieron tomar venganza en algún momento para reclamar aquella hermosa y fértil tierra de la que fueron echados.

The animation is extremely beautiful and detailed, it houses very pleasant scenarios that range from idyllic ones loaded with pastel tones or others that highlight death and are completely gloomy. From the start, that style reminded me of Happy Tree Friends, those who have been able to see said animation in their time will understand perfectly what I mean, in turn, it is necessary to highlight the level of fluidity that it manages because it is very high and It makes the different sequences look very good.
La animación es sumamente hermosa y detallada, alberga unos escenarios muy agradables que van desde unos idílicos cargados de tonos pastel u otros que destacan la muerte y son completamente sombríos. Desde el vamos ese estilo me recordó a Happy Tree Friends, aquellos que hayan podido ver dicha animación en su tiempo entenderán perfectamente a lo que me refiero, a su vez, es menester destacar el nivel de fluidez que maneja debido a que es muy alta y hace que las diferentes secuencias queden muy bien.

The construction of the world is curious, the above is because it knows how to have a pleasant balance between a lush and beautiful landscape with a dead and desolate one, this contrast being what gives a quite pleasant context to the film.
La construcción del mundo es curiosa, lo anterior se debe a que sabe tener un balance agradable entre un paisaje frondoso y hermoso con uno muerto y desolado, siendo dicho contraste el que da un contexto bastante agradable al filme.

The plot is extremely simple, throughout the film the conflict is quickly explained and it is anticipated that there will be a confrontation between the 2 races, all of this is adorned with copious amounts of blood, violence and death (Happy Tree Friends style ) all this leaves him as morbid entertainment. Narratively there is not much, the premise is basic, so the film does not leave room to go further, nor is there any interest in being something deeper. The film is very digestible because something constantly happens, whether it's a mockery or a bloody moment, it never becomes tedious and its duration is consistent with the concept it handles.
La trama es sumamente sencilla, a lo largo del filme se explica de forma rápida el conflicto y se anticipa que habrá un enfrentamiento entre las 2 razas, todo esto está adornado con unas cantidades abundantes de sangre, violencia y muerte (Al estilo Happy Tree Friends) todo esto le deja como un entretenimiento mórbido. Narrativamente no hay mucho, la premisa es básica, por lo que no le deja margen la cinta como para ir más allá, tampoco es que exista algún interés por ser algo más profundo. La película es muy digerible debido a que constantemente sucede algo, bien sea una burla o un momento sangriento, no se hace tediosa en ningún momento y su duración es acorde para el concepto que maneja.

Nothing to highlight, they are all cannon fodder without real relevance or characterization, the protagonist brothers do not really have any kind of notable background because the death of their mother is only mentioned on several occasions without really having considerable narrative weight.
Nada que destacar, todos son carne de cañón sin verdadera relevancia o caracterización, los hermanos protagonistas no tienen realmente alguna clase de trasfondo destacable debido a que la muerte de su madre solo es mencionada en varias ocasiones sin realmente tener un peso narrativo considerable.
Unicorn Wars is a work dedicated to blood, violence and flying viscera, all this bizarre carnival contrasts in a somewhat shocking way with its tender animation full of pastel tones (Hence the comparison that I have made repeatedly with the final series of the 90s) outside of all that sea of indigestible things there is nothing else to mention. It is for all the above that it deserves 3 stars out of 7, it is part of that group of animations that look cute but have horrible and nauseating content, if you like violence without further ado, this is your film.
Unicorn Wars es una obra dedicada a la sangre, la violencia y a las vísceras volando, todo este carnaval bizarro contrasta de forma algo shockeante con su animación tierna y cargada de tonos pastel (De ahí la comparación que he hecho reiteradas veces con la serie de finales de los 90) fuera de todo ese mar de cosas indigestas no hay más nada para mencionar. Es por todo lo anterior que merece 3 estrellas de 7, forma parte de ese grupo de animaciones que se ven tiernas pero que tienen un contenido hórrido y nauseabundo, si te gusta la violencia sin más este es tu filme.
