   Trust your week is going amazing. Today , I bring you a new movie update which I know you’d love. I’ve been a fan of Taraji P. Henson since the days of empire and acrimony and there’s no movie of hers I would think twice about watching. If there’s any movie she’s given a role in , just send it my way because I know it’s most definitely going to be fire.

   As is the usual in most places, women who find themselves working in male dominated areas often face a lot of issues as they’re mostly looked down on and so on. This movie, dives into the life of a woman who finds herself in such a situation so, let’s find out how she makes her way out.

   THE PLOT

   - - - Ali Davis is a female sports agent doing so well in her field and after so many years of being a sports agent, she’s desperately waiting for her breakthrough for the opportunity to be a partner with the sports firm she’s currently working with.

   With her three best friends , her personal assistant, Brandon and no partner to show, she’s actually living a normal life for someone her type. Ali Davis comes off as the empowered woman who knows what she wants and fights for it anywhere, anytime. Finding herself in a male dominated field hasn’t been easy on her and with her upbringing, she had always been the fighting and having the fighting spirit kept her going for this long.

   As the day when a new partner was to be announced in the firm arrived, she’s all hyped up as she knows with no doubt that she would be elected as the new partner. But all her hopes were shattered when the position was given to another male agent. From there, she made a mental not to sign the hottest upcoming NBA star, Jamal Barry. As she worked towards that, she also had a personal life to deal with.

   Her three best friends happened to have a get together for one of them who was to get married and during this get together, her friends introduce her to a sister who apparently reads people’s destiny’s. On her encounter with this sister, she’s given some tea which was to help her connect better with men so she could make it to the top. From there, they made it straight to the club to have a time of their life but she ends up getting knocked out amidst all the madness only to wake up in a hospital bed.

   But hey, what happens next shocks her. She’s able to read the minds of men. Right from the hospital, she was able to read the doctors thoughts, that of her PA and every male around her. This was madness to her but soon she comes to terms with it on her next visit to see the sister. Would she use these powers to her advantage or will they end up ruining her life? You’d have to find out!

   MY THOUGHTS AND RATING

   I’d rate this movie a 10/10 because for starters, the plot was amazing and the show was acted so well to the end. I loved all the characters involved and the graphics were good.

   On the other side, this movie had a lot of lessons I found useful. First of all , I learnt that not everything you wish for is actually good for you and so sometimes we have to make do with what we have until things fall in their places.

   This movie also thought me that we can’t have it all. We just need to be content with what we have, take advantage of the opportunities we have and build long lasting relationships.

   If you have an hour or more of your time to spare, you should definitely see this movie. Thanks for your time.

2. ›Lo Que Ellos Quieren / What Men Want (2019): Una vista muy simple de la mente del hombre, pero aún así, no es mala.@miguelpeliculas1987d

   Estamos ante otra película que cumple muy bien las expectativas que tenía detrás de ella, con una protagonista sólida, algunos momentos cómicos, pero que no logra sobrepasar eso, estando medianamente bien plasmado el tema del feminismo, pero  generalizando de forma errónea la primicia principal, que pensamos o que queremos los hombres.

   We are facing another film that meets very well the expectations that it had behind it, with a solid protagonist, some comic moments, but that does not manage to overcome that, the theme of feminism being moderately well captured, but wrongly generalizing the main scoop, what we men think or want.

   Aunque tengo que resaltar una cosa muy importante, está cinta es un remake de la película What Women Want, protagonizada por Mel Gibson y Elen Hunt en los 2000, que a pesar de que ahora es una mujer quien escucha los pensamientos de los hombres (idea muy original, jajaja), toca otros temas y no se queda encasillada en solo ser una versión más moderna de la original.

   Although I have to highlight one very important thing, this film is a remake of the movie What Women Want, starring Mel Gibson and Elen Hunt in the 2000s, which despite the fact that now it is a woman who listens to men's thoughts (idea very original, hahaha), touches other issues and does not get pigeonholed into just being a more modern version of the original.

   La trama se centra en una mujer afrodescendiente que quiere triunfar en un mundo generalmente dominado por los hombres, las agencias deportivas, por lo que llega a sentirse menospreciada y excluida por quienes trabajan con ella. Hasta aquí todo bien, pero el problema está cuando adquiere el poder de leer la mente del hombre, pues nos plasman de una manera muy simplista.

   The plot centers on an Afro-descendant woman who wants to succeed in a world generally dominated by men, sports agencies, so she comes to feel belittled and excluded by those who work with her. So far so good, but the problem is when it acquires the power to read the mind of man, because they capture us in a very simplistic way.

   Al haber tantos personajes en la trama, algunas veces se utiliza el recurso de leer la mente de mala manera, con frase super clichés que no todo el tiempo funcionan. No me lo tomen a mal, nuestra mente es mucho más sencilla si la comparamos con la de las mujeres, pero pienso que se pudo haber sacado mucho más de está idea.

   As there are so many characters in the plot, sometimes the resource of reading minds is used in a bad way, with super clichés that do not work all the time. Don't get me wrong, our minds are much simpler when compared to women, but I think that much more could have been learned from this idea.

   En cuanto a los personajes, ninguno sobresale del todo, teniendo la protagonista que cargar este filme sobre sus hombros, y es que Taraji Henson hace un gran papel, con lo que logra caerte bien rápidamente, además de tener unas cuantas buenas escenas de comedia. En el elenco podemos distinguir otros estrellas como Shaquille O'Neal o Tracy Morgan, un actor clásico de la comedia.

   As for the characters, none of them stand out at all, the protagonist having to carry this film on her shoulders, and Taraji Henson plays a great role, which makes you like you quickly, as well as having a few good comedy scenes. In the cast we can distinguish other stars such as Shaquille O'Neal or Tracy Morgan, a classic comedy actor.

   El guión y el trabajo tras cámara estuvo bien, sin realmente conseguir demasiados chistes muy interesantes o hilarantes, tratando siempre de cubrir demasiado, con muchos personajes que no llegan a desarrollarse del todo y con algunas conclusiones más forzadas que lógicas.

   The script and the behind-the-scenes work was good, without really getting too many very interesting or hilarious jokes, always trying to cover too much, with many characters not fully developing and with some more forced than logical conclusions.

   En conclusión, es una película para pasar un buen rato, con algunos momentos cómicos y dónde se abordan algunos temas interesantes (que va más de la mano de que Hollywood quiere aprovechar el subidón del feminismo). Sirve muy bien, como siempre digo, para verla un domingo en casa.

   In conclusion, it is a movie to have a good time, with some comic moments and where some interesting topics are addressed (which goes more hand in hand with Hollywood wanting to take advantage of the feminism rush). It serves very well, as I always say, to see it at home on a Sunday.

   "What Men Want" is a comedy romance movie about a young women (Taraji P. Henson), known as Ali Davis in the movie.

   Davis happens to be the only prominent female working in her company as a sport agent; this is job that many assume and presume that only men can do best but there was Davis trying to prove many wrong.

   ---

   

   Davis thought she was just fine the way she was until the day her boss spoke to her harshly about her connections and relationships with men. Due to the fact that she was old enough to be married but isn't made some pay less attention to her even at work.

   Luckily but unfortunately for her, she got a mystical gift through an accident where she can hear and read the thoughts of men. She was quite in a state of confusion at first when she got the gift but later on, the gift was used to expose some secrets some men have and fortunately for her she was able to also use the gift to find herself a true love.

   Personal Observation.

   The movie isn't totally that of a great understanding; many of the jokes and comic relieves were the needs but the storyline was quite too far from reality but fantasy. Aside these observations, the movie in terms of camera output and graphics is really great.
