🎬️ TV series: Who Is Erin Carter? (2023) 🎬️@avatara152d
This series I loved, a suspense-driven thriller from 2023 directed by Ashley Way, Savina Dellicour and Bill Eagles. Here we meet Erin Carter, played by Evin Ahmad, a British teacher in Spain who lives a seemingly perfect life – until a violent incident in a supermarket reveals that she possesses fighting skills far beyond the ordinary. 😃
What starts as a story about an ordinary mother quickly develops into an intense game of cat-and-mouse where Erin's mysterious past threatens to catch up with her. The series captivated me from the very beginning, and the acting performances felt very well-made and believable. I really liked the theme of the hidden identity; it creates a constant nerve throughout all the episodes. Visually, the series is gorgeous, with beautiful Spanish locations that are incredibly well filmed. There are raw action scenes combined with a strong personal drama that keeps the tension up without dead ends. A great viewing experience that easily gets an 8 out of 10 from me.

Les premières images nous montrent Erin Carter (Evin Ahmad) qui fuit l'Angleterre, depuis Folkestone, à bord d'un chalutier, avec sa fille Harper (Indica Watson).
On la voit ensuite, en Espagne, du côté de Barcelone, où elle est enseignante dans l'école du village. Elle est mariée avec Jordi (Sean Teale), infirmier à l'hôpital de Barcelone.
Alors qu'elle fait ses courses et qu'elle accompagne Harper aux toilettes, quelques minutes avant la fermeture, le supermarché se fait braquer.
Elle intervient pour protéger sa fille, en blessant gravement l'un des braqueurs, qui semble la reconnaître.
Les autres complices sont parvenus à prendre la fuite.
Alors qu'elle reçoit des soins à l'hôpital, elle demande des nouvelles du braqueur blessé et demande à pouvoir le voir. Son mari accepte de l'amener dans sa chambre, mais ressort pour aller voir Harper. Entre temps, le braqueur fait un arrêt cardiaque à la vue d'Erin, en voulant réagir à sa présence.
A partir de là, on verra régulièrement des bribes du passé d'Erin, qui nous expliqueront comment elle en est arrivée là, comment cela se fait qu'elle sait se battre et qui sont les personnes qu'elle croisera au cours des épisodes.
Mon avis et petites infos :
C'est pas mal, on voit de jolis paysages de Catalogne. C'est sympa à regarder.
On se dit qu'on peut vite être entraînée dans les ennuis, alors qu'on veut juste aider un ami policier, par exemple, .. surtout quand le passé la rattrape .. mais dans son malheur, elle a la chance de réussir à s'en sortir vivante. Ne faites pas la même chose IRL, vous pourriez vous en sortir beaucoup moins bien. 🤣
Je ne sais pas si Evin Ahmad a suivi des cours d'arts martiaux ou si elle était, judicieusement, doublée pour les scènes de combat, mais il y avait l'une ou l'autre belle chorégraphie de combat.
Evin Ahmad n'est pas du tout hispanique, elle est suédoise, de parents kurdes (Irak et Syrie). Vous l'avez peut-être déjà vue dans la série The Rain, où elle interprétait Kira.
La série se termine sur une porte ouverte pour une 2e saison, mais Netflix n'a pas encore confirmé s'il y en aurait une ou pas.

Bonito viernes para todos Hivers, creo que tengo varios días ya sin publicar, un poco de desánimo por lo que se ha convertido está plataforma para mí y un tanto de tener la cabeza en otro lado que pienso tiene más importancia por ahora.
Sin embargo, entre los tiempos de descanso o incluso cuando toca comer en pareja, he tenido la oportunidad de ver alguna película o serie.
Esta semana pudimos ver una miniserie cuyo trailer nos atrapó inmediatamente, pues tiene todos esos elementos para hacerte olvidar un rato la realidad y llenarte de ese buen suspenso y acción de una serie.
El título está más que bien en esta miniserie porque se va escudriñando en cada capítulo la realidad de un nombre que es usado por alguien para evitar ser descubierta su verdad.

Nice Friday for all Hivers, I think I have several days without posting, a bit of discouragement for what has become this platform for me and a bit of having my head somewhere else that I think is more important for now.
However, between the times of rest or even when it's time to eat with my partner, I have had the opportunity to watch a movie or series.
This week we were able to see a miniseries whose trailer caught us immediately, because it has all those elements to make you forget reality for a while and fill you with that good suspense and action of a series.
The title is more than right in this miniseries because in each chapter the reality of a name that is used by someone to avoid being discovered its truth is scrutinized.
Los primeros capítulos son bastantes intrigantes, pues básicamente es escapar de algo o alguien, dónde se ve involucrado una mujer con su hija, a quien de una forma muy dulce le figura su realidad de escape con fantasías.
Eso para mí fue bastante emotivo, pues son los niños quienes más salen afectados de una situación irregular ya sea de divorcio, un padre que está acosando a su familia o busca incluso asesinarla y pare de contar.
Usar la fantasía como dragones que le están cazando fue fantástico, pero a su vez luego de ciertas escenas me hizo pensar que tampoco era lo correcto, cuando la niña ya teniendo cierta edad avanzada empezaba a tener episodios de pánico dónde miraba a un fauno o persona con una máscara de fauno, no era algo preciso para mí, pero luego se explica a más detalle.
Puede ser contraproducente siempre elegir la fantasía que la realidad al tratarse de niños, pues no toda la vida serán niños y tendrán que saber lo que es una persecución, de quién o quiénes realmente escapan y la razón por la cual tienen que cambiarse de lugar y nombres.
Lo que si, es que todo esto de cierto modo influyó mucho en la crianza de esta niña quien tiene un carácter a mi parecer especial y bastante rebelde en cuanto a su lengua y hacer lo que le piden.

The first chapters are quite intriguing, because basically it is about escaping from something or someone, where a woman is involved with her daughter, who in a very sweet way is shown her reality of escape with fantasies.
That for me was quite emotional, because it is the children who are most affected by an irregular situation, whether it is a divorce, a father who is harassing his family or even seeks to murder her, and so on.
Using fantasy as dragons that are hunting her was fantastic, but at the same time after certain scenes it made me think that it was not the right thing to do, when the girl already having a certain age started to have panic episodes where she looked at a faun or person with a faun mask, it was not something accurate for me, but then it is explained in more detail.
It can be counterproductive to always choose fantasy over reality when dealing with children, because they will not be children all their lives and they will have to know what a chase is, who they are really running away from and the reason why they have to change places and names.
What is true is that all of this, in a certain way, had a great influence on the upbringing of this girl who, in my opinion, has a special character and is quite rebellious when it comes to her language and doing what she is asked to do.
Erin Carter es madre soltera pero también se convierte en la novia de un enfermero cuya personalidad es bastante bonita y especial, tanto que llegan a un punto en que se ve como un padre real para su hija y no un padrastro.
Parecen tener una vida bastante comoda viviendo en un urbanismo costoso y lleno de vecinos millonarios.
Sin embargo, él es enfermo y Erin es profesora sustituta en el colegio de su hija, buscando convertirse en profesora contratada indefinidamente.
El problema es que si vida pasada de alguna forma empieza a verse en su presente y complicar toda la situación.
Además de ello se descubre la verdadera procedencia de ese fauno que ve la niña, lo cual es un evento conocido por ella de alguien muy importante pero cuyo recuerdo está empañado de tiros, sangre y de la mala vida.
Erin Carter no solo tiene que lidiar con su pasado, también con el hecho de que el mejor amigo de su novio está involucrado en investigaciones de la mafia y problemas personales también.
De alguna forma ambos hacen equipo para poder sobrevivir a todos los eventos de persecusión que se dan dónde la vida de su novio e hija peligran.

Erin Carter is a single mother but also becomes the girlfriend of a male nurse whose personality is quite cute and special, so much so that they get to a point where he looks like a real father to their daughter and not a stepfather.
They seem to have a fairly comfortable life living in an expensive housing development full of millionaire neighbors.
However, he is ill and Erin is a substitute teacher at her daughter's school, looking to become a contract teacher indefinitely.
The problem is that her past life somehow begins to show up in her present and complicate the whole situation.
On top of that she discovers the true provenance of that faun the girl sees, which is an event known to her of someone very important but whose memory is tainted with gunfire, blood and the bad life.
Erin Carter not only has to deal with her past, she also has to deal with the fact that her boyfriend's best friend is involved in mob investigations and personal problems as well.
Somehow the two of them team up in order to survive all the chasing events that take place where her boyfriend and daughter's lives are in danger.
Un asesinato tras otro va cambiando todo el panorama para mal, pero una mujer del pasado lo cambia todo para la vida de Erin Carter.
En esta miniserie hay traición de todo tipo, también manipulación, de cierto modo hermandad pero más que todo venganza.
Al final muchas cosas se conectan como una única y real historia donde el nombre de Erin Carter era solo eso, algo impreso en un papel.
Un nombre tomado por una mujer que es capaz de hacer lo que sea para proteger a su familia.

In this miniseries there is betrayal of all kinds, also manipulation, in a way sisterhood but most of all revenge.
In the end many things connect as a single, real story where Erin Carter's name was just that, something printed on a piece of paper.
A name taken by a woman who is capable of doing anything to protect her family.
