I avoided Wynnona Earp for most of its first season.

I had taped the pilot but never got around to watching it for almost two months, and only decided to check it out when I had decided to purge my DVR.

Then it became one of those things where I wished I had put my dislike of those type of shows aside and just watched it. The types of shows I mean are off the treadmill paint by numbers shows with a snarky main character that people dislike cause she was a misunderstood trouble maker.

Which is exactly what the show is. The pilot itself is Wynnona Earp coming back from her trip around the world she took because she couldn't take it anymore. People dislike her cause she's troubled, but only her family knows she's the last in a line of cursed Earps.

Cursed by demons known as the Revenent... people killed by Wyett Earp that came back to wipe out his desendents. Only the family can use the Widowmaker, a gun that sends the demons back to hell.

    That said.

    I like it.

It's a nice modern western that mixes humour and supernatural goo with just the right amount of sarcasm. Usually I'm annoyed by that show style but it works here.

Wynnona and her sister Waverly live in a world people won't believe unless they saw it with their own eyes, but handle it with whit and understanding.

There's moment in the show I have issues with but I think that's a time reason, as events happen quickly followed by people's acceptance of it. Ie, an agent in the show became infected by a demon goo, a reaccurring character, her head explodes showering her office in black slime.

The main characters shrug it off and move on.

I've no problem with the humour after, but they go right into reading files. Maybe mention the room is good.

Check the show out. It's good
