Yu-Gi-Oh! The Dark Side of Dimensions

In my last post, I mentioned that I would like to watch the remaining two movies of the Yu - Gi - Oh! card game franchise, 2 days ago in my free time I had the opportunity to watch the movie which I will talk about today in question and let me tell you that in general I liked it quite a lot, it has many aspects of which covered much after the end of the series, more specifically the culmination of the first season, I generated a rather nostalgic feeling the truth, but there were also present some things that did not convince me much or did not call much my attention, as the villain on duty but I will delve into it in due course later.

So it will be a pleasure for me to talk about this release in question, which in the first instance enjoys a good animation as the main focus or central focus, without more to say let's start.

En mi post pasado, mencione que me gustaría verme las dos películas restantes de la franquicia del juego de cartas de Yu - Gi - Oh!, hace 2 días en mi tiempo libre tuve la oportunidad de verme la película de la cual hablare hoy en cuestión y déjenme decirles que en general me gusto bastante, tiene muchos aspectos de los cuales cubrieron mucho después de la finalización de la serie, mas especifico la culminación de la primera temporada, me genero una sentimiento bastante nostálgico la verdad, pero también estaban presente algunas cosas que no me convencieron mucho o no llamaron tanto mi atención, como el villano de turno pero ya profundizare en ello en su momento más adelante.

Así que será un placer para mí hablarles a continuación de esta entrega en cuestión, de la cual a primera instancia goza de una buena animación como principal foco llamativo o central, sin más que decir comencemos.

Yu - Gi - Oh: The Dark Side of Dimensions known with this title in Latin America and North America and colloquially in Japan as (Yu -Gi- Oh Za Dakusaido Obu Dimenshonzu) is a movie of the franchise, which is linked canonically with the manga and shows the continuity of the plot after the events exposed in the same manga in question, the main intention with the development of this film installment was due to a special commemoration, due to the 20 years of the franchise as such. This movie was released in Japan on 2016, on April 23 to be more exact to then be released internationally and aired 1 year later in question in each respective country.

Yu - Gi - Oh: El lado oscuro de las dimensiones conocida con este título tanto en Latinoamérica como en Norteamérica y coloquialmente en Japón como (Yu -Gi- Oh Za Dakusaido Obu Dimenshonzu) es una película de la franquicia, la cual está ligada de forma canoníca con el manga y muestra la continuidad de la trama después de los acontecimientos expuestos de el mismo manga en cuestión, la intención principal con la elaboración de esta entrega cinematográfica fue debido a una conmemoración especial, debido a los 20 años de la franquicia como tal. Esta película fue estrenada en Japón el 2016, el 23 de Abril para ser más exactos para luego ser liberada internacionalmente y se transmitiera 1 año después en cuestión en cada respectivo país.

Our story begins a relatively long time, you could say 6 months to be exact, after the events in the last chapters of the first season in which the spirit of the pharaoh Atem and Yugimoto have their last duel, we can see our characters resuming and moving on with their lives, the young Yugimoto has grown up a little more and is focused on his studies as well as his group of friends in the same high school, with the exception of one character in question who is obsessed with dueling with the pharaoh and indeed that is Seto Kaiba, who tries in the most radical and desperate way possible to bring the soul of the pharaoh to fight him, however these actions attract the attention of a mysterious character who will try to complete his mission, to quench his thirst for revenge with some very questionable principles both morally and ethically.

Nuestra historia comienza un tiempo relativamente largo, se podría decir que son 6 meses para ser exactos, después de los acontecimientos en los últimos capítulos de la primera temporada en el cual el espíritu del faraón Atem y Yugimoto tienen su último duelo, podemos ver a nuestros personajes retomando y siguiendo con su vida, el joven Yugimoto ha crecido un poco mas y está enfocado en sus estudios al igual que su grupo de amigos en la misma secundaria, con excepción de un personaje en cuestión que está obsesionado con batirse en duelo con el faraón y efectivamente ese es Seto Kaiba, que intenta de la forma más radical y desesperada posible de traer el alma del faraón para luchar contra él, sin embargo estas acciones llaman la atención de un personaje misterioso que intentara completar su cometido, para saciar su sed de venganza con algunos principios muy cuestionables tanto moral como éticamente.

Very well finally we are in my favorite section, let's start with the most notorious aspect the animation, the animation in this case I can tell you that it was great it's beautiful the truth, you can notice the level of detail in the facial expressions as well as in the monsters when the characters fight, I really have no complaints with this, besides that I personally liked the designs of some monsters especially the dark magician, the dragons of Kaiba and his Egyptian god card I really liked his modeling, and as it looked with apparently a semi relief in 3d in some monsters was not bad at all the truth.

Regarding the plot, the truth the plot and how it was developed was not bad to some extent, it is true and I admit that it was attractive to me the intention and means that Kaiba took to meet the pharaoh and do everything possible to fight with him, and see the duels of him with Yugimoto was very good and nostalgic, but I feel that there was a decline in this case with the villain and his intentions, I didn't feel that he showed from my perspective as much weight as I would like and if his intentions have a contrast with his instilled principles of which in the long run we realize, that he is a figure blinded by his task and revenge, but I feel that these ideas could have been presented better in my opinion when implemented to the character, to my taste it is an attractive concept between that internal struggle of duty and his revenge but I feel that it could have been involved in a better way.

Another aspect that I did not like much is the change of rules when our characters fight with the villain on duty, the truth is I did not feel comfortable with this change, I understand that perhaps they wanted to make slight changes to make it entertaining according to the demands and position of the villain in question considering that they were fighting with him in another "plane", but personally this resounding change of the rules in the duels with him mainly, even in the first season when fighting in the realm of shadows with Bakura or Maryk the rules and standards were still followed with the difference of putting your life on the line since that realm consumes you entirely, in the dimensional plane of the villain also your life is in danger so to speak but I did not like how it was presented with the distorted rules.

To culminate, I left this for the end and let me tell you that the growth that Yugimoto takes is very satisfying, it was great to see how he grew and matured certain aspects of him standing firm especially in the final moments of the film with kaiba and the villain on duty, it was very rewarding accompanied by a great animation and duels.

And with this I end this movie in question fortunately has more positive aspects than negative and I enjoyed it, and with this I would only need to see one last movie in question, if you wonder why I do not present them according to their respective time, and I place them at random is because the last film of which I will speak is the one that least catches my attention, but still talk about it, it is a matter of preference because this and the previous of the pyramid of light are linked to the first season instead that follows combines the following seasons and protagonists of which I did not see their series. Muy bien por fin nos encontramos en mi sección favorita, comencemos con el aspecto más notorio la animación, la animación en este caso puedo decirles que fue genial es hermosa la verdad, se nota el nivel de detalle tanto en las expresiones faciales como en los monstruos cuando los personajes combaten, realmente no tengo ningún tipo de queja con esto, además de que en lo personal me gusto mucho los diseños de algunos monstruos en especial el del mago oscuro, los dragones de Kaiba y su carta de dios egipcio me gusto mucho su modelado, y como se veía con al parecer un semi relieve en 3d en algunos monstruos no estuvo nada mal la verdad.

Con respecto a la trama, la verdad la trama y como se desarrollo no estaba mal hasta cierto punto, es cierto y admito que fue atractivo para mí la intención y medios que tomaba Kaiba para encontrarse con el faraón y hacer todo lo posible para combatir con él, y ver los duelos de él con Yugimoto fue muy bueno y nostálgico, pero siento que hubo un declive en este caso con el villano y sus intenciones, no sentí que demostró desde mi perspectiva tanto peso como me gustaría y si sus intenciones tienen un contraste con sus principios inculcados de lo cual a largo plazo nos damos cuenta, que es un figura cegada por su cometido y venganza, pero siento que estas ideas se pudieron a ver presentado mejor desde mi parecer al ser implementadas al personaje, a mi gusto es un concepto atractivo entre esa lucha interna del deber y su venganza pero siento que se pudo involucrar de una mejor manera.

Otro aspectos que no me gusto mucho es el cambio de reglas cuando nuestro personajes luchan con el villano de turno, la verdad no me sentí cómodo con este cambio, entiendo que quizás querían hacer ligeros cambios para hacerlo entretenido acorde a las exigencias y posición del villano en cuestión considerando que se encontraban luchando con él en otro “plano”, pero en lo personal este cambio rotundo de las reglas en los duelos con el principalmente, no me llamaron la atención incluso en la primera temporada cuando se combatía en el reino de las sombras con Bakura o Maryk aun las reglas y estándares se seguían con la diferencia de poner tu vida de por medio ya que ese reino te consume enteramente, en el plano dimensional del villano también tu vida corre peligro por así decirlo pero no me gusto como se presento con las reglas distorsionadas.

Para culminar, deje esto para el final y déjenme decirles que el crecimiento que toma Yugimoto es muy satisfactorio, fue genial ver como creció y maduro ciertos aspectos de el manteniéndose firme en especial en los momentos finales de la película con kaiba y el villano de turno, fue muy gratificante acompañado a una gran animación y duelos.

Y con esto termino esta película en cuestión afortunadamente tiene más aspectos positivos que negativos y la disfrute, y con esto solo me haría falta ver una ultima película en cuestión, si se preguntan por qué no las presento acorde a su respectivo tiempo, y las coloco al azar es porque la ultima película de la cual hablare es la que menos me llama la atención, pero aun así hablare de ella, es una cuestión preferencial ya que esta y la anterior de la pirámide de la luz están vinculadas a la primera temporada en cambio la que sigue combina las temporadas y protagonistas siguientes de los cuales no vi sus series.
