Good morning, Hive community! 💗 Hope you are all well. ‎ ‎Today, I would like to introduce you to one of those songs that somehow seem to be close to your heart when you need comfort the most after a breakup or a hard time in life. ‎ ‎That song is “Fix You” by Coldplay. ‎ ‎What makes this song even more special to me is the story behind it. ‎ ‎Chris Martin wrote “Fix You” to comfort his then-wife, Gwyneth Paltrow, after the death of her father, Bruce Paltrow, in 2002. Interestingly, the song began with a keyboard that Bruce had given Gwyneth but hadn't really been used yet. ‎ ‎When Chris turned it on, he discovered these soft, warm sounds that eventually became the heartbeat of the song. ‎ ‎And honestly, you can feel that warmth. ‎ ‎Whenever I hear this song, I imagine someone sitting right next to me, comforting me without saying a word. There is a certain sadness in every note that gradually transforms into hope. ‎ ‎Also, the video for this song is absolutely breathtaking. ‎ ‎In the first half, Chris Martin walks alone through the dark and quiet streets of London at night. ‎ ‎ IMDb

‎He seems lost, following some mysterious path only he can see. He pushes through narrow alleyways and abandoned buildings. ‎ ‎He looks completely alone. ‎ ‎To me, it seems that he is looking for some lost happiness and trying to find his way out of this deep depression. ‎ ‎ IMDb ‎ ‎Then the electric guitar comes in and changes the whole mood of the song. ‎ ‎Chris starts running through the streets. ‎ ‎The confusion and hope turn into a solid belief that everything will turn out for the best as he finally arrives at a giant illuminated stadium in Bolton. ‎ ‎Thousands of lights surround him. The crowd is singing. The rest of Coldplay is waiting onstage. ‎ ‎And then he joins them. ‎ ‎ Parade

‎One little detail I especially love is when Chris stumbles and falls onstage near the end. He simply gets back up and continues singing. ‎ ‎Honestly, this is one of the things I find most relatable about this song. ‎ ‎There is no perfect image of someone who never falls. Sometimes, you fall, get back up, and keep going. And somehow, that fits the message of “Fix You” so beautifully. ‎ ‎“Fix You” was released as part of Coldplay's third studio album, X&Y, and was written by all four members of the band... The video was filmed shortly before the July 7, 2005 London bombings. ‎ ‎As a result, the scenes with Chris Martin walking alone through desolate streets took on a new and additional meaning. ‎ ‎So one person’s tragedy turns into thousands of people’s hope that everything will turn out for the best. ‎ ‎And this is probably one of the things I genuinely admire about this song.
