Sight

I think I did myself a lot of good to see this biography movie before I read some reviews I found later on it, I must say some reviews can be so poorly given or exaggerated that if one reads the before seeing a movie, it could change too much about their perspectives about what the movie really could have given them as first timer.

I saw this movie yesterday with my cousin and we enjoyed most part of it, I say most part because the surgeries aspect and the lead character trying to figure out the best solutions to problems weren't so relatable for us but we still enjoyed every other part of it because we saw the results of his constant struggle to fix a problem.

"Sight" is a biography and history drama suitable for families and an inspiration for young minds. It is based on a true story of Ming Wang, a world renowned eye surgeon. The movie is directed by Andrew Hyatt and starred by Terry Chen as Dr. Ming Wang, Greg Kinnear as Dr. Misha Bartnovsky and Mia SwamiNathan as Kajal.

Sight is a very moving and inspirational true story that opens the human thoughts to another side of life we don't get to see much... The importance of the "eyes" alongside with the fact that "There is more to life than what you see" as the main character realizes in his story towards the end.

The story begins with a wicked stepmother blinding an orphan and the next scene opens with a doctor being visited by an orphan who is hoping he would restore her sight. Back and forth, the life of doctor Ming Wang is told in a story that takes us back to a time in the violent uprising in his youth, a cultural revolution. How he decides to be a doctor but obstacles kept delaying and yet, he didn't give up and became it.

The story reveals Kajal, the blind orphan girl to be the transformation that Ming Wang needed to see even though she never regained her sight. The story shows how Ming Wang went from fighting his trauma to confronting it and giving visions to many more orphans free of charge. He continues to succeed in all of his eye surgeries.

The movie is a biography of a great life that lived and is still living, because the real Ming Wang was featured at the end of the story to ask people for support. I read in a review that got totally pissed about the asking for support part at the end of movie because it kinda contradicts his purpose of giving treatment for free. But that's the point of it being free, the patients not paying.

In any case, I personally love the story and it inspired me to thinking beyond what's known to me already. I got to understand that indeed, there are good people who really want to begin a change and are doing it practically. It's an impressive true story and I'll recommend you see it for yourself too. Sight isn't just about seeing.
