It is a Korean thriller and suspense film about the possibility of a murder and the race to prevent it. It centres on the danger facing Jeong Yun, a young woman who is about to turn 30 and feels depressed at reaching that age without having fulfilled her dreams; with several part-time jobs that don’t allow her to make ends meet, she feels like a failure, but that doesn’t stop her from treating herself to a few little things to celebrate her birthday, such as some sweets, a packet of cigarettes and a dress.

I could really relate to her at the start of the film; the way Jeong Yun celebrates her birthday and how she feels really touched my heart, and I imagine it does the same for many people turning the same age who haven’t achieved their dreams by that stage. This initial hook kept me watching scenes that were quite ordinary – I’d even say boring at times; the good thing is that, as you continue to see what this girl’s life is like, things start to happen that pique your curiosity.

Este inusual don es lo que genera en Jun Woo una depresión y frustración al no poder salvar a las personas de sus premoniciones, antes ya se había visto involucrado en otras muertes, el detalle es que no son muertes naturales o por causas de accidentes, existe un asesino serial que las comete. > >

> > Una vez que Jun Woo le confiesa a Jeong Yun lo que pasará decidí acompañarla todo el tiempo para salvar su vida, pero Jeong Yun empieza a sentirse insegura y desconfía de la ayuda que le ofrece este desconocido. > > Durante toda la película se sintió la angustia de ambos personajes creando un ambiente tenso para el espectador que es lo que se desea, también quisieron añadir una especie de romance que no termina de cuadrar en la historia y no sé si es típico de las películas y series coreanas que quieren darle un romance a todo, pero eso me causo incomodidad, ya que lo sentí como un amor medio tóxico, que vive el personaje de la protagonista Jeong Yun con un oficial de policía. > > En líneas generales es buena historia, mantiene el misterio y el thriller y su giro final fue espectacular, puede decir que su inicio y fin son excelentes para generar buenas críticas, si te gustan estos géneros te la recomiendo. >

Jeong Yun lives alone and has no friends or family; that day, whilst on her way to work, she bumps into Jun Woo, a young man showing clear signs of nervousness. He is a sort of psychic who prophesies people’s deaths; when he collides with Jeong Yun, he sees in his visions that she will be murdered and that she has only six hours left to live, so he decides to prevent it and help her save herself.

It must be terrible to have such a gift and want to help people without coming across as mad or looking like a stalker-murderer. This unusual gift is what causes Jun Woo to suffer from depression and frustration at being unable to save people from his premonitions; he has previously been involved in other deaths, but the point is that these are not natural deaths or accidents – rather, a serial killer is responsible for them.

Once Jun Woo confides in Jeong Yun about what is going to happen, he decides to stay by her side at all times to save her life, but Jeong Yun begins to feel insecure and is wary of the help offered by this stranger.

Throughout the film, the anguish of both characters is palpable, creating a tense atmosphere for the viewer, which is precisely the intended effect; they also wanted to add a sort of romance that doesn’t quite fit into the story, and I’m not sure if this is typical of Korean films and series, which seem to want to include a romance in everything, but it made me feel uncomfortable, as I perceived it as a somewhat toxic relationship – the one the protagonist, Jeong Yun, has with a police officer.

Overall, it’s a good story; it maintains the mystery and suspense, and its final twist was spectacular. It’s fair to say that both the beginning and the end are excellent at garnering positive reviews; if you like these genres, I’d recommend it.
