The great thing about action and rescue movies is that from the very first minute, you can enjoy a thrilling adventure full of danger, tough decisions, chases, and moments of tension—which is why this genre remains one of the best. That’s why One Mile: Chapter One is here, with a very simple premise that gradually evolves into a situation where the most important thing is to survive and have the support of your loved ones, such as your parents.
The movie introduces us to a former special forces operative trying to rebuild his relationship with his daughter—something that can happen both in movies and in real life. It takes time, tough decisions, and letting go of the past for those relationships to work, but everything changes when the young woman is kidnapped, leading us to wonder: Will he be able to save her? Will they be able to be together again? And many other questions that make the film feel both realistic and thrilling, precisely because a father will always give everything for his children—and even more so in a situation like this.
Lo bueno de las películas de acción, de rescates es que desde el primer minuto uno podrá disfrutar de una gran aventura llena de peligro, decisiones persecuciones y momentos de tensión, por ende este género sigue siendo uno de los mejores. Por eso llega Una milla: Capítulo uno, con una idea muy sencilla, pero que poco a poco se convierte en una situación donde lo importante es poder sobrevivir y contar con el apoyo de los seres más queridos como lo son los padres.
La película nos presenta a un antiguo miembro de las fuerzas especiales que intenta recuperar la relación con su hija, siendo algo que puede ocurrir tanto en las películas como en la vida real y eso necesitará de tiempo, decisiones y dejar un pasado atrás para que esas relaciones funcionen, pero todo cambia cuando la joven es secuestrada y nos lleva a preguntarnos ¿Podrá salvarla? ¿Podrán estar juntos nuevamente? y muchas otras cosas que hacen que la película se sienta real y a la vez emocionante, por el mismo hecho de que un padre siempre dará todo por sus hijos y más ante una situación como esa.
What stands out most are the various action scenes, as they’re packed with punches and gunfire—as well as a father who isn’t trying to be the strongest, but rather to find his daughter. As the film progresses, it becomes a puzzle, and each piece leads him to uncover the whole truth. These small elements make the film feel very enjoyable, setting it apart from other movies in this genre, and above all, it seamlessly blends action and family themes from start to finish.
It features very few characters; however, each one plays a crucial role in elevating the film to its peak, and that’s where Ryan Phillippe comes in. Drawing on his military background, he brings a sense of confidence and a blend of experience, concern, and desperation to the role. Furthermore, he shows that human side—where he can get tired, feel fear, and isn’t invincible—forcing the protagonist to fend for himself, which adds tension to the film. Meanwhile, the daughter also displays great character as she struggles and manages to overcome that situation.
Lo que más se destaca son las distintas escenas de acción, ya que están cargadas de golpes, disparos, como también un padre que no busca ser el más fuerte, sino poder buscar a su hija y por eso a medida que la película avanza se convierte en un rompecabezas y cada pieza lo lleva a descubrir toda la verdad. Con esos pequeños elementos hace que la película se sienta muy agradable, distintas de las demás películas de este género y sobre todo desde que comienza hasta que termina combina acción y familia.
Cuenta con muy pocos personajes, sin embargo, cada uno tiene una gran responsabilidad para poder llevar esta película a la cima y allí es donde entra Ryan Phillippe quien al tener conocimiento militar, le da más seguridad y mezcla de experiencia, preocupación y desesperación. Además, muestra ese lado humano, donde puede llegar a cansarse, sentir miedo y no es invencible, permitiendo que el protagonista tenga que salir adelante y eso le da tensión a la película. Mientras que la hija también muestra una gran personalidad al tener que luchar y poder salir adelante antes esa situación.
I really liked the outcome of this installment, One Mile: Chapter One, because it’s entertaining, straightforward, fast-paced, and filled with moments of tension that keep us hooked. Moreover, beyond the fights and enemies, it’s a great example of the solidarity and trust a father can provide—and that’s why family will always come first. So, what really sticks with me is the message it conveys: we don’t need to have a clear path ahead to move forward; we simply need a reason strong enough to keep us from stopping.
Me gusto mucho el resultado de este entrega Una milla: Capítulo uno, ya que es entretenida, sencilla, rápida y con momentos de tensión para mantener nuestra atención, además más allá de los golpes, los enemigos es una gran muestra de solidaridad y confianza lo que puede llegar a ser un padre y por eso la familia siempre será primero. Por lo tanto, me quedo con lo que transmite y es que no necesitamos tener el camino claro para avanzar, simplemente necesitamos tener una razón suficientemente fuerte para no detenernos.
