Greetings to my friends in the @holos-lotus community. May today be a wonderful day, filled with peace, gratitude and the little things that make us smile; here is a thought I’d like to share with you:
I think we’ve all gone through difficult times and negative experiences, which often leave us feeling bitter and resentful – even more so if we start looking for the reasons behind these emotions.
However, despite all these difficult situations, I must avoid getting stuck in the past, because despite the difficulties, we must work on ourselves as people, from within.
Experiencing a turning point in my life
I believe that every trial, every difficulty and every adversity has a purpose: to bring us closer to God, to shape us and to make us better people. This leads me to reflect on the reasons why I am experiencing a turning point in my life.
The perspective of viewing adversity not as a punishment or a dead end, but as a process of transformation, learning and growth, completely changes the way I can face the pain or the circumstances that have affected me.
One example is having experienced negative situations – as we all do in life – such as financial difficulties, illness and betrayal, along with other sad experiences. I’ve come to realise that it takes time to understand that emotional wounds cannot be covered up; they must be healed to make way for new things.
A resilience I didn’t realise I possessed
In my case, I couldn’t simply say ‘no’ – to let go of a relationship that had lasted many years, to acknowledge that, in some way, that person was indispensable to me – and that’s where attachment played such a big part, because just as it had taken me time to reach that state, I also knew it would take me time to move on from it.
So, when I realised that recovery is a process, I needed to be patient. Thank God I’ve had my daughter’s support to make progress in that recovery process; contrary to thinking that I had to do it all on my own, the truth is that I no longer had to do it alone – an affirmation that, when repeated frequently, is key during the recovery stage.
In particular, the sense of a ‘before and after’ that I am experiencing stems from the realisation that I have reached a turning point when circumstances overwhelm me, and even give me the opportunity to rebuild on firmer foundations, in line with my values, my faith and my purpose in life.
In any case, it is in the darkest moments that I have managed to forge my character, my empathy and that resilience, which I didn’t realise I possessed before; for the most valuable thing is that I now know very well who I am and what I am capable of.
The protagonist of my own story
By allowing myself to recognise my own worth and potential, and by ceasing to doubt myself, my perspective on difficulties can change; I no longer see challenges as threats, but as situations in which I can test what I am capable of doing or accepting.
Having that clarity of purpose gives me a huge advantage in life, in terms of knowing where I’m going and what I’m willing to tolerate or seek, without letting external opinions or bumps in the road define me, provided my foundation is internal and firm, because I’ve managed to become the protagonist of my own story, firmly marking that turning point.
Letting go of all negative experiences from the past to heal and restore my heart; when I embrace that inner flame, fear does not disappear, but passion and inspiration become far greater than it, driving me to create solutions where others see only problems.
A renewable source of energy
Everything I have come to realise about who I am and what I am capable of fills me with a self-sustaining energy; unlike external motivation (which comes and goes depending on circumstances), my inner will and drive make me feel as though it is a renewable source of energy.
This is how I perceive it when I wake up feeling clearer-headed, when I’m better able to weather difficult days, and, moreover, my intuition gives me greater certainty as I get to know myself better; it involves accepting the need to keep my personal and spiritual motivation alive.
Sometimes, those around us ask us to tone down our intensity so as not to make others uncomfortable, but I believe that embracing my courage means claiming my space, my voice and my ability to make an impact on the world.
I believe that the symbol of my inner strength is not just a spark of personal motivation, but a driving force behind the progress of the projects, ideas and people I choose to engage with through that energy. Maintaining that certainty in who I am and in my spiritual connection with God is my greatest strength for whatever lies ahead.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
