Vintage Chicago living

These old living quarters in Chicago are rather fascinating.

This apartment building on Greenleaf Ave captures your attention when you walk past. There was an open house and it was fun to look more closely at this 90 year old 'castle' !

The courtyard was lovely, and I was imaging that these must have been pretty classy apartments in 1927 when this building was new.

But it was the art deco pool that I loved best!

Never mind all the signs warning of lead hazards all around in the building!

Wow! That is pretty classy. You can really see the quality of the place and the 20's styling is instantly noticeable. I think that period is my favorite for period furnishing and industrial (product) design. Impressive mosaic for the swimming pool, too!

Like everybody I like the pool too, but the lead warning should not be underestimated. The green yard looks very nice too.

That's in Chicago? Intersting. Not sure what I feel about the building in itself though. Having seen lots of castles here in Ireland and the rest of Europe, this just seems odd. Modern-ish in castle style. A bit strange hehe. But the pool! Yes, I love that one. Very nice. Lead warnings? LOL. That's pretty bad...
