We often mix up the functions of consistency and motivation and it has always make us end up at the spot and destination we didn't hope to land in place of the good and great one we envisioned while kickstarting our decision.
Normally, we can feel motivated or motivated by someone or people to do something, start a business, choose a career, take up a course or degree, go back to having a good relationship, and any other thing we can ever think of as long as we thought about it and made the decision to start it but that motivation does not in any way ensures that the decision works through till the end where we get to see a productive result we so much desired.
So many dreams are left halfway like a faulty vehicle on the highway because they lack the fuel of consistency. Yes, consistency is the fuel that keeps the car of our decisions moving till destination.
So many of us wants to turn to a new career because it's saturated and bringing in huge income for people who do it but we do not possess the consistency to get rewarded like those who earns huge from it. We can only start being a content creator, and when the first 10 posts doesn't have the engagements we had thought it would have even when we so much see sense or fun in what we posted, we get disappointed repeatedly and chose to leave that path because it's not meant for us.
Is it really not meant for us or because we couldn't push further? What will work doesn't work on time but consistency makes you see progress even when it's not yet obvious till it become publicly obvious. It's certain that been consistent is not easy because there are days you don't feel like it at all, the tiredness comes from nowhere like you should just dump the project but that focus and vision we had the day we made the decision and feel motivated to start the journey should keep us going. I am sure of that cos it worked for me.
I remember when I took up a 25days writing challenge on the web2 space and I thought it will be so easy since I post there even if it's not daily and I also write on Hive everyday which I barely lose my streak but until I started the challenge before I knew what I got myself into. The engagements would weigh you down, the no or radio currency likes would degrade your spirit and there were days I felt like not raising my finger on the phone's touchpad but what I did was remember why I started this journey which must definitely be achieved.
Right now, my goal is taking some AI certified and uncertified courses and be consistent through it no matter the factors that may want to hinder the progress.
So, consistency is never an option but a necessity if success is required in what we do either online or offline.
