Was this really a movie or an encounter? I can't really explain what this movie did to me because I'm so speechless right now but not because I don't know what to say or type but because I feel overwhelmed by the awakening this movie brings.
It's not always about how strong you are at times that makes it vivid to not need to be awakened but some things, events, or what we see and come across just seem to arouse what's inside us to stir it up the more and for the better and for whoever who's even weak and not strong, they get awakened to request and receive more strength. These are the boxes War room ticked and I wondered why it stayed there in my playlist for so long before watching it.
If you're a believer, non-believer or backslider, I bet it that this movie would stir something up in you. War room was supposed to be a fighting and action movie based on my reasoning from the title and with the way the first scene started with definition of wars graphically and how it's done but I never knew it was a strategy to the plot of the movie.
War room is about a once failed bride who has grown to an aged woman called Clara and lost her husband into the consequences of the work he chooses to do as a military but the sad part is that they never had peace and harmony in their marriage till the husband passed away of which Mrs. Clara only had the chance to realize how she failed God and her marriage only when her husband was late. Fortunately she became like a best friend to God in prayers.
On the other hand was Elizabeth and Tony her husband, whom also had no peace in their marriage and it was obvious they're both tired of themselves already of which their daughter Danielle also is getting affected with no cooperate love and affection from both parents. Not until God brought Elizabeth also known as Liz to Mrs Clara's doorstep and the journey to spiritual warfare began.
The war room I was expecting to be a movie of physical fights and weapon turned out to be a movie of spiritual fight weaponized by prayers right from a closet that was meant to be for wardrobe but turned to a room of prayer warfare and word of God. I won't lie that this movie got me crying at some point not because I'm strange to what God can actually do, even the ones we least expect that can ever happen but because it actually happened and served as a proof that prayer still works even if we may feel tired to continue because we are yet to receive the answers.
One of the moments for me was when Tony was about cheating on Liz, like almost but the work of prayer stopped that, touched the heart of a man that had turned stone already and brought back Liz's home to her, not her husband alone but also her daughter. Moment of losing job and about to be jailed and so more...
I love the twist in the title to the story, I love the work put into place by the actors who are Karen Abercrombie as Clara Williams, Priscilla C. Shirer as Elizabeth Jordan, T.C. Stallings as Tony Jordan, Alena Pitts as Danielle Jordan, and many more other actors who made this movie. Crews also are not left out in this amazing project as it was directed by Alex Kendrick and written by Stephen Kendrick.
This movie proves that prayer still works like wonders especially when you believe in the name of the one whom you take your requests to. War room is an interesting, impactful, and educating movie on family, love, and marriage in general. Some fights can't be fought alone as a woman but need God to fight for you.
I'll recommend War room a thousand times and you can only understand the passion behind this decision only after you're done watching it.
