God does not want you to remain at the level of“baby Christian.” You must grow and mature to accomplish the purpose for which you were saved. Only mature christians can be truly of use in God’s kingdom. As you mature, you begin to understand the true essence of your salvation, to live as a soldier of Christ.
Timothy was encouraged by the Apostle Paul to be strong and to endure hardship because the Christian life involves spiritual battles. There is a constant struggle between righteousness and evil, and every believer is called to stand firm in that battle. If you are called to continue the ministry of Christ on earth, you must be ready to partake in His sufferings.
2 Timothy 2:12 - If we suffer with Him, we shall also reign with Him.
